Song Review: Sierra Hull and Wyatt Flores - “Shake the Frost”
Playing as an acoustic duo in the seats of an empty Red Rocks, Sierra Hull and Wyatt Flores couldn’t sound much less like Tyler Childers.
Yet as they perform “Shake the Frost” in their own style, Childers’ songwriting fingerprints are audible just below Hull’s mandolin, Flores’ guitar and the singers’ crystalline harmonies.
Hull is the soloist and co-lead vocalist. And when she switches to harmonies and backgrounds on the second verse, she demonstrates her ability to support as well as be out front. Music lovers and makers can’t ask for more from a leader and listeners couldn’t reasonably ask for more from a cover as this one strikes a perfect balance between homage and interpretation.
It’s enough to make one regret not being there. But very few people beyond the random amphitheater employees on the background were, so that’s a consolation.
Grade card: Sierra Hull and Wyatt Flores - “Shake the Frost” - A

Dear Listener,
I'm Christa Feagin, from Summerfield, Florida. I am a college student studying Clinical Psychology at the University of St. Leo. Music has always been a source of inspiration and comfort for me. Through this soundtrack, I aim to share a narrative of my life's journey—a mix of highs and lows, growth, and reflection.
This soundtrack represents a personal exploration of my experiences and emotions. I created it to fulfill an assignment and gain a deeper understanding of how these songs resonate with my life. I hope to look back on this project in the future and see it as a testament to my growth and the soundtrack of my journey. My goal was to curate a sequence that reflects the different phases of my life, providing insight into who I am and how I cope with various situations.

Wyatt Flores really said, "What if I wrote a country song personifying various parts of the body including the heart, like 'Achy Breaky Heart', but it was actually good?" And then did it.

[Verse 1] Can someone take the shovel out of my hand? Well, I ain’t the man that I’m supposed to be Money tires and back wood miles between us I’m wishing you were holding on to me [Chorus] I’ve been lost and I’ve been found Lately I’ve been kicked around If you’re willing, give me shelter Help me find my way back home [Verse 2] Late at night the countryside is sleeping Visions of you running…
