I got accepted into a University!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🎊 Exciting news: I've been accepted to one of the two universities I applied to! I really doubted that I could even get into THE university of my city since they are harder to get into with higher grades for the entry requirements, but I think I only got in because of my apprenticeship experience. For example, if I had went straight to applying at the university at age 18, I wouldn’t have gotten in. I even thought when I was younger “oh I couldn’t ever apply because that’s for the smart smart people” BUT I GOT IN and I’m not even maths smart!
So, thank you God that I studied coding when I was studying Biology, Chemistry, Maths during my last two years of school. Although I had to drop out due to health reasons, thank you God for the opportunity to learn how to build websites and explore Python while working as a call centre agent. Thank you God for the confidence to apply for an apprenticeship, even though I didn't complete my schooling! Thank you God for helping me complete the apprenticeship with a pass mark and then continue working there as their Junior Web Developer. And thank you God for helping me randomly apply to these universities and I got a place!
My journey has been filled with challenges and opportunities, and for that, I am grateful!

Triangle Tuesday 5: The symmedian point, how a point can have a BFF, an aside, and lots of cool constructions
Let's start with the medians. You remember the medians, right? They are the lines that connect a triangle's vertices to the midpoints of the opposite sides. The all meet at the centroid, G. Next we'll add the angle bisectors, which split the angles at each vertex into equal parts. Then we'll reflect the medians across the bisectors to form the symmedians. They all meet at a point K, the symmedian point.
Tumblr media
Here they are, with the medians in red, angle bisectors in gray, and symmedians in green. And no, I don't know why the letter K is traditionally used for the symmedian point. If anyone can tell me, please do.
Tumblr media
(Although the three angle bisectors cross at the incenter, the process of locating the symmedian point does not just amount to reflecting the centroid through the incenter. As you can see, the line connecting G and K doesn't quite pass through I. This triple line reflection is not equivalent to a point reflection.)
In looking at the symmedian point, we are jumping forward many centuries from the points we looked at before. The incenter, centroid, circumcenter, and orthocenter were all known to the ancient Greeks, but the symmedian point was not noted until the 19th century. Émile Lemoine proved its existence in 1873, and for that reason it is sometimes called the Lemoine point.
A proof is very simple, but I'd like to keep to only one proof in this post, so I want to make it a good one. I want to make it more general. So let's first take a little wider view of what we've done here with the symmedians.
In case it is not clear, when I say that we reflect a median across an angle bisector, I mean that we draw a line from a vertex that makes the same angle with the bisector as the median makes with the bisector, but on the opposite side. The symmedian, then, is just the line that is symmetrical to the median.
Also, remember that lines drawn from a vertex of a triangle to intercept the opposite side are called cevians (pronounced ˈtʃeviən, CHAY-vee-un). All of the lines in the drawing above are cevians.
Two cevians drawn from the same vertex that form the same angle with the angle bisector are said to be isogonal (iso meaning "same" and gon meaning "angle"). Every cevian has an isogonal line, and the angle bisector is its own isogonal line.
And speaking of cevians, let's also remember Ceva's theorem. Each cevian passing through a point P cuts a side of the triangle into two segments, and the ratios of those two segments are related by this equation:
Tumblr media
AZ/ZB * BX/XC * CY/YA = 1
So the red and blue segments on each side do not all have the same ratio, but the product of the three ratios is 1.
With that in mind, we can prove not just that the symmedian point exists, but something more general and powerful:
Theorem: if three cevians drawn from the vertices of a triangle coincide, their isogonals also coincide.
For proof, let's just consider one of the cevians and its isogonal line.
Tumblr media
Here we have a cevian through point P meeting side AB at Z, and its isogonal meeting AB at W. Point Q is just there for kicks right now.
Because CZ and CW make the same angle with the bisector (in gray), they also make the same angles with the adjacent sides, so the blue angles are equal, as are the red angles. So the ratio of blue angles to red angles are the same, meaning
sin ∠ACZ / sin ∠ZCB = sin ∠WCB / sin ∠ACW
and so by the law of sines,
AZ / ZB = WB / AW.
This is just the ratio we want in order to apply Ceva's theorem to the reflections of the cevians we started with. We can do this for all three vertices, and then substitute our results into the equation above, showing that the ratios for the segments of the isogonals all multiply to 1, and that therefore the isogonals coincide.
So yes, the construction used for the symmedian point always works, for any point. A point Q constructed in this way from a point P is called the isogonal conjugate of P. This relationship is reflexive (by contruction), so if Q is the isogonal conjugate of P, then P is the isogonal conjugate of Q. Or, as I like to think of it, P and Q are BFFs.
Tumblr media
Isogonal conjucation maps points in the inside of a triangle to points inside the triangle. Isogonal conjugates of points on the circumcircle go to infinity. In the animation, you can see the blue point go through a discontinuity twice as the red point crosses and recrosses the circumcircle.
So the centroid and symmedian point are isogonal conjugates, and as you might have figured out, the incenter is its own isogonal conjugate.
What else can we say about the symmedian point? Well, it has a ton of cool alternate constructions. There are too many of them to prove, so I'm just going to show you a bunch.
Tumblr media
The symmedian point is perspective to ABC and the tangential triangle.
Draw tangents to the circumcircle at A, B, and C, and let them intersect at D, E, and F. Triangle DEF is the tangential triangle to ABC, and the lines AD, BE, and CF are symmedians.
When corresponding vertices of two triangles are colinear with a single point like this, we say that the triangles are in perspective, and the point is the center of perspectivity or perspector of the triangles.
Tumblr media
Each symmedian bisects a side of the orthic triangle.
Furthermore they bisect all the line segments spanning the triangle that are parallel to the sides of the orthic triangle. All such lines are called antiparallels. And why are they called that? Okay, sure, let's have a little aside on antiparallel lines.
Euclid defines parallel lines as lines in a plane that do not meet each other in either direction. His test for whether lines are parallel is to cross them with another line. Then if the alternating angles are equal, the lines are parallel.
Tumblr media
The upper left drawing shows such a situation. The black line crosses the two blue lines making equal alternating angles, therefore the two blue lines are parallel.
The upper right shows two lines that make the same angle with the black line, but now one of them faces away from the other line rather than toward it. In this situation, the red and blue lines are said to be antiparallel with respect to the black line. Parallel lines are parallel regardless of any other line, but antiparallel lines are only ever relatively antiparallel. They can only be said to be antiparallel compared to some other reference.
The lower left drawing shows how a pair of lines can be the reference. A pair of lines (red and blue) are antiparallel to another pair of lines (black) if they are antiparallel to their angle bisector (gray). In that case, the blue angles are equal.
The lower right drawing shows how this applies to triangle geometry. How do you find an antiparallel line in the first place? By reflecting one of the sides across the bisector of the opposite angle. The solid black segment at the bottom of the triangle defines parallels for this side, of which the blue line is an example. And the dashed black segment, which is the reflection of the solid segment, defines the antiparallels for this side, of which the red line is an example. Each side of a triangle defines such sets, all of which together are called the parallels and antiparallels of the triangle.
With that in mind, let's show how this applies to the symmedian point.
Tumblr media
Parallels drawn through the symmedian point intersect the sides in six concyclic points.
Tumblr media
Antiparallels drawn through the symmedian point intersect the sides in six concyclic points.
You didn't think that aside was for nothing, did you? This concludes our bit on parallels and antiparallels. Onward!
Tumblr media
Circles drawn through the symmedian point and pairs of vertices intersect the sidelines in six concyclic points.
Since we did both kinds of lines, why not circles?
Tumblr media
This nonsensical figure is somehow true.
Draw squares on each side of triangle ABC. Draw circles through the vertices of the triangle and the adjacent two vertices of the squares. The lines connecting the centers of those circles and A, B, and C are symmedians.
Tumblr media
It's even still true if you draw the squares the other way.
Same as above, but the squares are draw toward the inside of the triangle instead of away from it.
Tumblr media
Draw a line connecting the midpoint of an altitude from a vertex with the midpoint the the opposite side. The line passes through the symmedian point.
in case you wanted to locate the symmedian point without drawing any symmedians.
Tumblr media
Let P be a point on the circumcircle but not a vertex. Let Pa, Pb, and Pc be its projections onto the sides. Then one of the three projected points bisects the line segment joining the other two iff P is on a symmedian.
This of course is a Simson line, which we saw when we looked at the circumcircle.
Tumblr media
The symmedian point is the centroid of its own pedal triangle.
It's also the only point that is the centroid of its own pedal triangle. As a corollary, the centroid of a triangle is the symmedian point of its antipedal triangle.
That links the symmedian point back to the centroid again, so I think I'll stop here. There are other points the symmedian point connects to, and more I could say about isogonal conjugates, but that will have to wait for another day.
If you found this interesting, please try drawing some of this stuff for yourself! You can use a compass and straightedge, or software such as Geogebra, which I used to make all my drawings. You can try it on the web here or download apps to run on your own computer here.

My Accidental Parents AU family tree!
Tumblr media
I redesigned Shadow from my previous XS post. Was itching to draw her brothers, Boris and Orchid so here they are!
If you guys can guess, they are redesigned characters from Chronicles! I hated the show ngl but in my AU, I get to redo their appearances and personalities yay!
Shadow: Born from a pearl inside an oyster made from a broken ribcage of Chase and Omi's healing magic. Feral lizard instincts, creepy manners that aren't too bad and a passionate female warrior. Has a soft spot for women (Had a crush on Kimiko before growing out of it and found someone else.). Aspires to be a skilled Heylin warrior like her dad, Chase. She's tsundere with a soft side for Papa Omi even if she tries to deny it when she's older.
Boris: Born from a peach shared by Chase and Omi when they took a bite of the fruit. The fruit came from Barkley Le Bois, an ancient French Xiaolin warrior turned into an enchanted peach tree by Gigi before the Heylin Seed was sealed. A good boi, clumsy, reluctant martial artist, doesn't want to fight, prefers to study botany and cooking. Still has the element of wood, only difference he ACTUALLY USES IT unlike canon XC. Taught by his grandpa Barkley whom he's very close with. Papa Omi's baby boy.
Orchid: Hatched from an egg laid by Chase in his beast form when he unknowingly ingested a certain potion dropped into his Lao Meng Long soup by Shadow and Boris when they were kind of tricked by Jack Spicer to search something in their dad's lair. Named after the serum responsible for his conception. Orchid is Chase in appearance and Jack in personality minus the cowardice. Has certain parts of XC Chase's personality with none of the creepy incest. Flamboyant and has a knack of inventing like his revered mentor, Jack much to his father, Chase's displeasure.
Notes:
1.) Chase and Omi had their firstborn, Shadow when Omi got into his 20's.
2.) All three kids were born accidentally through either both Xiaolin and/or Heylin magic, not MPreg.
Xiaolin Showdown, Chronicles and the characters belong to Christy Hui and Warner Kids.
Boris/Ping Pong and Orchid's designs along with this AU are mine.

9 PM: The work begins.
What I haven't finished: literally everything. The script, the slides. I need to edit and change a few things from my graphic organizer, for I didn't know until this morning that we needed quotes from the articles we were given for a completely seperate assignment. Not to mention I need to memorize the script by tomorrow.
Side notes (Miserable Complaints): I might actually turn to religion. This sudden stress and adrenaline wouldn't have come to me if my father didn't make me pick up a book for two hours. Two, agonizing hours w/o getting work done I didn't realize the clock stuck 8 pm. The time my ELA teacher posted the time slots for the TED talk. Before I knew it, all the slots for Friday and Monday were filled out, all except one. Friday. Tomorrow. 2:15-2:25. Right when the period begins.
Of course I scoured the website thoroughly, looking for any outlet. My efforts were fruitless. Now here I am.
I will make this right. I will work all night if I have to. Fuck XC for just one night, it can piss off at 6 in the morning. Right now, I'm working on pure animalistic instinct.
I will check back in an hour. See you all then

app triggers: apocalyptic scenarios, death, religious horror, memory loss, brief discussion of identity loss, discussion of symptoms of depression including mention of suicidal ideation, animal harm/death, discussion of euthanization, discussion of suicide, brief mention of discrimination
personality: a light in the dark, lily cepheus' ever bright smile and hopeful outlook on life would seem ill-fitting for someone who has been fighting to survive since she was young. she's never shy to walk into a situation to help someone out, running headfirst into danger that she oftentimes avoids by a hair and a well timed jump. when not wandering around looking for trouble, lily can oftentimes be found in a makeshift workshop of her own making, repairing and augmenting both her own and her friends' equipment, or, if she's looking for a change of pace, sewing together a set of plush animals to give out to wanting children. a look of gratitude and a promise to remember one another, she said, was one of the few things that they had to hold onto in order to keep hope close to their breast. this she believed with all of her heart, and this she continued to keep faith in even when gripping a lance twice her height and leaping onto the battlefield.
there, the inner workings of her personality shine though in clearer notes— her motions are swift, vivacious, and, most of all, merciless. you see, the pleasant and easygoing nature that lily cepheus often has is simply one side of the same coin. you can't just walk away from the seventh umbral calamity without bearing a few scars. bereft of a family and a purpose, lily's heart has more than once gripped itself in a vice fit to choke her, filling her mind with thoughts of abandoning all she has to leave society and let resentment be her guide. but she does not turn away from the world and shun it altogether— no, she stands firm, hands gripped so tightly around her weapon that her knuckles turn bone white, because, in the end, she knows that it wouldn't be what her family would have wanted for her. you have to keep going, if only just for us, if only just until you remember that the world is beautiful and don't need us.
so these feelings of pain and grief, she keeps tucked away close to her chest, under lock and key. she smiles, and she works— toiling with blood, sweat, and tears to create a world that her siblings would have felt at ease in. it is beautiful, she thinks to herself, looking to the stars, but far too lonely for me.
something your muse struggles with: moderation. if there’s something that lily can be doing, she will be doing it. overwork is a common thing for her, but she doesn’t much enjoy complaining.
your muse’s greatest strength: love.
history / background: your story is a typical one. you are a young girl from beneath the waves, the daughter of two fishermen, coddled close and whispered gentle promises. you’re safe here, they would tell her. so long as you do not tread the land. you must promise not to stray away from us, little fish.
of course, when you’re just a child, it’s hard to be able to listen to such foreboding orders, especially when you have five siblings that clamor to the shoreline whenever their parents are out on their own business. the group of them frolick on the shores, looking with wide eyes at the nearby forests as they breathe in the fresh air, look upon the skies that shine so much more brightly than their tiny, underwater bubble of sui-no-sato.
you remember looking up at that sky, tinged with smoke as you had been carried in magnolia’s arms, away from the soldiers and pirates that had begun their battle when you all had just been trying to play the instruments that you had just traded for with underwater treasures from the deep. gruff, unfamiliar voices speak in harsh tones as you and your siblings are hustled into a ship, saying something like escape and it’s much too dangerous to return.
your eldest brother holds you in his arms as you cry, the scent of the ocean prevailing against white stone walls and towering architecture. limsa lominsa, it is called. your new home, your brother insists, the five of you crammed into the basement of one of their towers. you all work odd jobs to get by, taking on names that will help you blend in better ( you’ll be lily, your brother had told you, who had now taken on the name magnolia. that suits you. ), and it works. you do your best, even up to the day where the sky paints itself a different color— a foreboding red, the moon bleeding to the ground in pieces as the world before you is razed to the ground.
you don’t remember much, other than the fact that magnolia had seated you in a carriage and had kissed your forehead and told you that he loved you. the cart takes off as he runs back to the city, no doubt trying to get to the rest of your siblings. by the time everything settles, and there is only smoke and green and towering trees, you realize that you are alone.
oh. you are alone.
you’re… you’re…
you don’t cry. you can’t. you make your way to the adventurer’s tavern, where you are taken in by mother miounne. she raises you like her own, and, once she realizes that your insistence on something more than sitting around is a matter of determination, she points you in the direction of the lancer’s guild. you look at the weapons that the students wield, long and sharpened to a point. it matches the stone in your pocket.
you make your decision then and there. your hand knocks against the door, scared but resolute. power. you need power.
you need to become an adventurer.
powers / abilities:
aether manipulation – a healing ability? a hurting ability? aether can be whatever the user desires to use it for. many of lily’s abilities all involve manipulation of aether in some form, however for this specific power, i’ll state that this allows her to imbue her weapons with aether to pull off feats that normal humans couldn’t be capable of. this can also lend itself to enhancing her own physical capabilities so that she can jump insane distances/punch really hard, and she can impart aether to people in order to enhance their own abilities/heal from wounds.
ice-aspected magic – like it says on the tin! lily has the power to manipulate and create ice. this can be used offensively or defensively, whether it be via imbuing her lance with the force of blizzards or summoning a barrier of ice. can help in a pinch if you need something chilled fast!
fire-aspected magic – more of the above, save for the fact that it would be for manipulating fire instead. if you’re looking to camp out for the night, or light a candle, then lily can surely lend you a hand.
inherent abilities:
dragoon training – lily has been studying the art of wielding lances since she was barely an adolescent. with it, she has incredible control/balance over her body, and is able to transfer her strength from one part of her body to another with ease. flexible, nimble, and slippery, she can wield lances, tridents, and spears like they’re extensions of her own body.
crafting skills – likes baking! also sewing. works with metal a lot, typically for detailing weapons, jewelry, etc. she enjoys tinkering.
gathering skills – enjoys some casual botany and mining, as a treat.
au ra physiology – nothing very special, she’s just a raen. hears with her horns. has a long tail. cute scales. :D
items / weapons:
abel’s lance – a two-landed lance that was gifted to lily by her own mentor, ywain. it stands a solid two and a half feet above her height, a dark navy in color with sapphire blue accents. very sharp. there have been some extra attunements made with her specifically in mind, intended to work much like the focus point of a staff ( achievable with the materials salvaged from zurvan’s domain ), allowing her to better harness magic as a black mage.
dragoon’s soul crystal – the soul crystal of a fallen dragoon. within in it are the memories of past dragoons, whose experiences help her to better aim her lance. she’s owned it since she was a child, where she found it at the thrift market in limsa lominsa. it’s stayed with her ever since.
black mage’s soul crystal – a somewhat newer addition to lily’s inventory within the last year, granted to her when she had gone to study magic in old sharlayan. supposedly having belonged to someone who had been consumed by blasphemy, the memories within it are filled with darkness and discipline. she draws these experience in order to manipulate aether as a black mage.
dragoon armor – sick as fuck looking armor. she hardly uses it because she’s insane, but it has a nice, extremely pointy aesthetic.
starting ability: aether manipulation
starting item: abel’s lance
extra:
my friend el wiwi the bisexual legend
when i first started the game she was 4’9 and now she’s 5’1 :] we love growth
lily is mute! she typically communicates through sign language, or will write in notebooks/your hand. she WILL be using that marziphone a ton.

So, I made a bot using Python and after not understanding the documentation at all for hours, I figured it out!
I want it to be able to send a “Hello Tumblr” message once a day, just to test the time-date thing but I’m happy the code works! Now to make it do more interesting things 👀💗🙌🏾
(@code-es, here’s the update 👀)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Playing around with the Tumblr API and I think I’m gonna make a test bot with Python.
Sorry, I’m not ‘gonna’, I’ve already started it :)

I've been thinking (because I'm quarantined and bored, sorry )..how it could be possible for Jack to form a good friendship? ...I mean even if a person shows affection, good intentions or a real interest on his stuff... the chance of Jack's betrayal is still there. I don't know I'm wondering ..if he can have a healthy friendship.
*cackles*  Jack Spicer, as he is in XS, is not capable of forming a stable and healthy relationship, despite the fact that he desperately wants and needs one.  And if that ain’t the tragedy of the whole series.
The Jack of Showdown
Just when Jack finally starts to actually warm up and be open and honest about his feelings with others, he either gets grossly mistreated (“The Deep Freeze,” “The Apprentice”) or is presented with the choice of being loved and accepted, despite who he is and what he’s done, or giving in to his baser instincts and double crossing his new would-be friends to get praised by someone who could not care less about him (“The Apprentice”).  It’s difficult to tell if Jack feels he doesn’t deserve to be happy for some deep and personal reason, or if he’s so focused on being seen as EVIL™ and not good; that he believes he must take any and all opportunities to prove his evil worth.  Whatever the reason, the Jack in XS would need someone that will stick by his side no matter what decisions he makes, or what actions he takes to push that person away.  Someone who unconditionally supports him and wants to be by his side.  The problem is, that’s more of a pet and has the potential to become quite toxic.
The Jack of Chronicles
As for the Jack of XC, he has some boundaries, and he’s not quite as ruthless.  He knows he’s kind of a loser, but he still really wants a girlfriend to help boost his sense of masculine ego.  But more importantly, he just wants a friend, to the point that he was willing to pay people to hang out with him (just like in XS “Something Jermaine,” “Judging Omi” and XC’s “Magic Stallion and the Wild Wild West,” “Buddy Blue Ray and the Golden Bunnies,” and “Heal Me”).
Jack enjoys Wuya’s company, but she gets frustrated with his lack of action in favor of building capital or just having fun (the Golden Toilet arc, “Super Cow Patty,” “Tokyo Madness,” and “Omi Saves the Holidays” among many others).  Jack seems to have moved out of his parent’s basement, and is now in his own warehouse/factory, so he’s really trying to focus on starting up his Evil Business idea and often refers to himself as an “evil entrepreneur” throughout the series.  While Wuya appreciates the “go get ‘em” spirit, she still feels that Jack isn’t doing enough to help her, which is the whole reason they teamed up in the first place.  Because of her nagging attitude and matriarchal approach to the relationship, Jack often feels smothered and refuses to act.  However, he still has boundaries and refuses to do certain things if they are not in his interests as well (“Back in the Flesh Again”).
Jack and Shadow
With Wuya as Jack’s pseudo-mother, he needs a datemate to call his own.  Gone is his curiosity in Kimiko (though he does seem to think she’s still cool), but if it’s any other girl, he will do his best to impress her.
Case in point Willow--who he tried to ask on a date if he won the Showdown Trio in “The Fall of Xiaolin.”  She strongly states that she isn’t interested in him in the least, and because the two never see each other again, I would assume Jack dropped the pursuit.
Shadow on the other hand, he likely sees a lot of himself in her.  They’re both evil, admire Chase, they seem about the same age, and... that’s about where the similarities end.  Shadow’s actions say that she is repulsed by Jack, but she never pushes him away, and even praises his “doo-hickies” (“The Laws of Nature,” “Rocco”).  With the use of camera drones, Jack witnessed a lot of the private behavior and abuse between Chase and Shadow, and even some of the abuse in person ( “Tigress Woo,” “Rocco”).  Even the cold open of “Who Shrunk Master Fung?” features Jack being very careful not to harm a strange bird, who is later revealed to be Shadow.  Case in point, the Jack of XC has a streak of kindness in him, and it is unclear if Shadow sees that and resents Jack for having it, or if she admires that aspect of him.  Regardless, after the events of “The Laws of Nature,” where Jack effectively double crosses Chase (and her by extension), Shadow likely made the choice to never trust Jack completely.  She double crosses him at the end of their wonderful team up in “Back in the Flesh Again.”  And Jack doesn’t even get upset or angry about the loss and betrayal.  He’s even more smitten and tries to brag to Omi and Ping Pong before realizing they aren’t into it and flies off.
Overall Jack and Shadow have feasible grounds for a relationship--even a romantic one--if they could both create some honesty and trust between each other, but neither is willing to do that, despite Jack’s over sharing (literally every time he opens his mouth around Chase).  For further reading on Jack’s relationship with Shadow and Chase, check out this post.
Jack doesn’t interact with Tigress, Kimiko’s older sister, much, but he does bother to keep tabs on her and warns Kimiko about her sister’s more nefarious activities (“Tigress Woo”).  It’s unclear if he did this in an effort to get closer to the Monks as a friend, or if he was stalking Tigress because he was attracted to her.  In either case, Tigress is never seen again or mentioned by Jack.
Jack’s Other Interests
There are a handful of episodes in XC that revolve around Jack seeing or meeting another evil-doer and fixating on them, often trying to model himself after them in some fashion.  He does this with PandaBubba to a lesser extent in “Magic Stallion and the Wild Wild West,” then goes full blown fan for Super Cow Patty (in his self-titled episode) and later Le Mime in the same episode, making fan videos and full costumes with personas for both his fixations.  In both instances with the truly evil characters (PB and Le Mime), Jack was looking for a sense of acceptance by an Evil Businessman and entrepreneurial peer, and a sense of belonging to a larger community with Le Mime and his henchmen.  That desire for belonging to a larger community is reiterated earlier in the series with “Heal Me” and Reverse!Jack’s cult.
However, when presented with an actual fan of his, Tiny Sim, Jack is actually somewhat reluctant to have the fan tag along with him.  And maybe that was for the best, as Jack soon discovers that the fan he inspired to become Evil is actually a lot better at it than he, himself, is (“Drawn to be Evil”).  In retaliation, Jack confines the fan to being just a creative idea intern.  Jack is essentially taking credit for all of Tiny Sim’s ideas, and not paying the kid a thing.  Sim, either because he’s doing what his idol taught, or because he feels cheated, makes it a priority to take a Wu or two when he can out of Jack’s stash (“Mark of the Dragon Spirit”).  Sadly, the series ended before the relationship between these two could be further developed.  It wouldn’t have been healthy, but at least it would have been something.
Another important note, Jack does make the clear distinction in both series that the gallery of sellswords he pays to be around him are only in it as long as there’s money for them to be had.  They are not his friends, they will never be his true friends, they’re just people he pays until the money runs out (“Something Jermaine,” “Judging Omi”).  So Katnappe, Tubbimura, Cyclops (after their initial debut), and to a lesser extent Vlad will never truly be Jack’s friends.  Vlad does make a return in XS’s “The Demon Seed” to try and cheer Jack up (not that he’s very good at it), but he doesn’t seem to want anything from Jack other than to do evil things and pal around.  This is a bit of a departure from their first encounter where Jack was presumably paying Vlad to be his hired muscle and inside man (“The Deep Freeze”).
Jack’s Robots
Jack’s relationship with his various Jackbots and other robots is an interesting one.  It’s possible that he created them out of a sick sense of wanting to have friends that he could control, but it comes back more to how the bots are presented in both series.
The Jackbots of XS seem to have a hive mind of sorts, as they will blindly (and sometimes literally) follow their master’s commands.  Those that fall are replaced as if nothing happened to the fallen Jackbot; their numbers are legion.  The bots are later programmed with emotions and feel sadness, but not fear.  This is interesting, because Jack is shown having temper tantrums from time to time, but he doesn’t break things, only tosses them around (“The Journey of A Thousand Miles”).
Jack’s relationship with the more “custom” humanoid robots is split into a binary.  On the one side are the bots that went rogue and have tried to annihilate him or simply want nothing to do with him: Chameleon Bot, Robo!Jack, and the patent-pending Shen Gong Wu Detect-o-bot.  On the other side are the bots he grew very attached to: Yesbot, his Cheerbot squad, and the Shen Gong Wu Detect-o-bot before it went rogue.  Both Yes~ and Detect-o~ allow Jack to be more of a child, as he is depicted being held like a scared child with both of them (if I remember correctly.  “Oil in the Family,” “The Demon Seed”).  He treats them like the parent he doesn’t have around.  The Cheerbots are his hott Barbie dolls that he gets to dress up and maintain.  He doesn’t go much farther than projecting personalities and life problems onto them.  Eventually they are absorbed into the Jackbot hive.
Tumblr media
Remember how Jackbots don’t show or know fear in XS?  XC opens with Jack having a tantrum, and many of his various designs of bot run away from him.  Jack is left cornering Chefbot, who has darts sticking out of his chef’s hat.  Rather peculiar for robots to be afraid of their master, especially since they are meant to be hoards of drones.  As Chefbot is developed as a character, Jack comes to respect his creation more, but Chefbot says he has no interest in hanging around someone like Jack; he wants to go places and be a real chef!  He can’t do that if he’s making paltry snacks for Jack.  Chefbot’s last appearance in the series is on a cooking show (either on TV or YouLook) making pizza, while Jack follows along from his RV.  Jack seems quite relaxed and at ease, even using the Banyan Twister Shen Gong Wu to stretch his body and the pizza dough.  It is never stated, but perhaps Jack is proud of his creation accomplishing it’s dream.
Thank You for Being a Friend
In conclusion, the Jack of XS is incapable of having a healthy friendship with anyone, either because he thinks he doesn’t deserve it or because he really is just a terrible person and pushes everyone away.  He would need someone to stand by and support him no matter what he does and no matter how horribly he treats that person.  Such a relationship has the potential to become toxic if boundaries are not set and if Jack doesn’t grow as a person.
The Jack of XC is desperate for a single friend, but 98% of the cast sees him as a pathetic loser, and not worth a second of their time.  Those that do see value in Jack’s companionship have all been hurt by Jack’s betrayal and lack of trust, or have betrayed Jack, because they have no trust in him (often from a previous encounter).  For this Jack to form a stable friendship, he needs someone who he can talk to honestly, openly, and not be judged for his feelings, and he seems to want someone who talks the same way to him.  He’s ready for a relationship, he just doesn’t have the rapport or trust built up with anyone.
TL;DR
Jack lacks basic trust in all his relationships.  He would need someone he can constantly count on, while also setting healthy and reasonable boundaries with that person.  If honesty and trust--ABSOLUTE TRUST--is there, Jack can have a friend, maybe even something more.

a random list of ra aus
im bored and im procrastinating nano, so here we are:
- a Brotherband au where literally nothing is different except the world is Actual Pirate Culture instead of Norse Viking Aesthetic
- Wild West AU, where the Rangers are the best shots in the West, and Halt gets to steal a lot more horses
- 1920s AU where Halt is making a shit ton off selling illegal alcohol, and Crowley is the government agent hunting him down.
- AU where everything is the same except the Rangers keep their own existence a secret and the Kingdom just has to deal with finding bandit gangs tied up by the side of the road every week. a note from an arrow is pinned to a tree: these are for you xoxo
- modern high school AU because those are classics, but hear me out: Horace is in drumline, Alyss is a lacrosse/XC jock, Evanlyn is an art hoe, Will is a theater nerd, Gilan is the clueless (and hot) senior drum major, and Halt is their AP US History teacher that assigns too much reading.
- ageswitch!AU where Will and Horace dealt with the Morgarath shit the first time and now Halt is Will’s clueless apprentice from Hibernia, fifteen years later
- post-apocalyptic AU: enough said.
- reblog with more!!

A quiet inkling in the back of my mind today before work told me that maybe I should post my “playable Nerubian” sketches from 2010-2011. They’re not particularly great, and I detest the female design now, though I suppose it’s in-line with Blizzard’s usual handling of things like that.
I also had a write-up that I made even earlier, as well, but reading it now just makes me cringe.
...I’m including it anyway.
Faction Title: Azjol-anak? Racial Leader: Kilix the Unraveler? Home City: ??? (Faction-dependent)
This would only be an option after the Lich King is defeated, and seeing how that is imminent, it makes this at least partially possible. Faction siding is up in the air, though. On a personal and selfish note, I would group them with the Horde, probably through Sylvannas and the Forsaken, whom, like the Nerubians, were directly victimized by the Lich King and the Scourge. Additionally, their monstrous nature is likely to be somewhat more accepted by the Horde (arguably, the Alliance welcomes the Worgen in Cataclysm, but Worgen are just humans with an unfortunate shapeshifting condition, as opposed to the straight-up beastly nature of Nerubians). However, Brann Bronzebeard appears to have a decent amount of diplomacy with the Nerubians of the Sundered Monolith, leaning towards them joining the Alliance (though Brann himself seems to be slightly more neutral than straight-up Alliance, especially in Wrath of the Lich King, where knowledge is more important than who helps him obtain it, as implied by instances such as Halls of Stone). It could go either way, and would probably depend on what race is introduced opposite of them.
What exactly these 'playable' Nerubians -are- is also questionable. Either they are a secretive caste that had remained hidden for all these years, or the few remaining living Nerubians used magic and science to combine their blood into that of more humanoid races in an effort to bring forth a new, stronger caste with the hope of using such a caste to regain the race's foothold in the war-torn world.
In my head, I see them as quite different. Unlike the typical six-legged-two-armed nerubians, four-legged-four-armed 'priest' nerubians, or four-legged-two-armed winged Crypt Lords, these 'playable' Nerubians are humanoid in build, with two legs and two arms, as well as a pair of seemingly useless 'vestigal' arms with two claws sticking out from the sides of their torsos just under their ribcages. They also have a pair of longer 'arms' sticking out of their backs like wings, armed with a single large claw. Most clothing or armor does not accomodate the extra limbs, and holes need to be cut into them. Both pairs of arms are usually tucked close to the body, because they're usually left unarmored, and therefore vulnerable (despite carapace).
In general, males are more beetle-like and heavyset, while the females are much more slender and spiderlike. The most defining male facial feature is their single facial horn, while the defining facial feature of females are mandibles.
Modifiable features are probably: Carapace color (essentially skincolor, though may only extend to their armored portions: anything unarmored would probably be black or dark gray) Hair style (A mainly variations and stylings of "unruly mess of quills", but also makes egyptian-style headdresses available as 'hair' with varying stripe patterns) Hair/headdress color (Hair tends to be subdued, darker colors, headdresses are bright) Face Type (Generally denotes layout of eyes, but also the presence or lack of mandibles or horns) Spikes (Chooses the style of their claws, as well as mandibles or horns (if present).
Without class bonuses, Nerubian base stats could be: Higher than average Spirit (22?) Higher than average Agility (22?) Average Intelligence (20?) Lower than average Strength (18?) Lower than average Stamina (18?)
Racial abilities that come to mind include (not ALL, obviously, just brainstorming):
Enhanced Unarmed - Moderate additional damage (scaled with level) when attacking unarmed, as they additionally strike with the limbs on their backs as well as their hands. (Passive)
(PERHAPS) Natural Armor - The natural carapace of a Nerubian gives them an additional 1% (2%?) armor contribution from items. (Passive)
Silk Weaving - Being mostly arachnoid in nature, leaning towards spiderlike, nerubians have an innate skill with silk and webbing. Therefore, they have a +5 tailoring bonus. (Passive)
Shadow Proficiency - Long-time practitioners of dark magic, Nerubian's chance to hit with Shadow spells is increased. (Passive)
Sticky Web - A racial rooting ability that can trap fleeing opponents. (2 min cooldown)
Filament Floatation - Constructs a 'parachute' of silk webbing to slow falling speed for 20 seconds. (1 (2?) minute cooldown)
Available classes: Hunter? Rogue Warrior Mage Priest Warlock Death Knight
Racial Mount: Anaki Tank - A large beetle, modified over years to be more streamlined and to run on only four legs (it carries its extra two vestigal limbs close to its body between its front and hind legs). Its head is similar to that of crypt-lords (or male playable Nerubians), with a large, single horn that helps their riders charge down foes. Their hunched, molded pronotum supports a decorative yet comfortable saddle with a horn. The pronotum on the Battletanks also has large spines raking forward from the front, reminiscent of tough slightly less pronounced than on an Atlas Beetle. At the apprentice level, the tanks' natural armor is left plain and unadorned. Battletanks are embellished with colored, jeweled trim. -Colors- *Apprentice: Brown Anaki Tank, Gray Anaki Tank, Beige Anaki Tank *Journeyman: Blue Anaki Battletank (silver trim), Green Anaki Battletank (gold trim), Yellow Anaki Battletank (black trim) *PvP: Black Anaki Battletank (gold trim) *Argent Tournament 5-mark: Royal Anaki Battletank (purple, gold trim) *Argent Tournament 100-mark: Azjol-anak Battletank (red, gold trim)
-==Gender Specifics==- Both have normal laughs, as well as a "Kekeke" laugh. Because the Nerubian language seems to accommodate it so well.
Knowing little to nothing about Nerubian aside sounds, I won't bother to make things up. Anything in Nerubian will be notated with an [N] and left to later interpretation, with [C] being relapses back into Common. Some vocals not covered because I can't think of anything 'original.'
FEMALE: Dance - Walk Like an Egyptian ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cv6tuzHUuuk )

Dr Love Mt Pleasant | Lip Flip vs. Fillers
Shared by Dr Love Mt Pleasant.   Are you looking for a nonsurgical option for an enhanced look? If you are considering dermal fillers or a Botox lip flip, there are a few things to think about before making a final decision. Both treatment options are quick and less invasive than surgery. However, they also come with some differences, including the length of time that the results last, the price, and the look they produce.  While they are often used individually, in some cases, a combination of a lip flip and fillers can provide the most optimal results. Dr Love Mt Pleasant has a lot of good advice on the subject.    Lip Flip  A lip flip creates the appearance of a fuller upper lip with a more defined cupid’s bow.  According to Dr Love Mt Pleasant, there is also a reduction in lines around the mouth. While the price can vary depending on what you would like done, the entire procedure is more affordable than getting fillers and usually only takes less than twenty minutes to complete. There is no need for recovery time.   What defines a lip flip is the use of Botox. It is made from Botulinum Toxin, which partially paralyzes muscles, creating a smoother and more defined appearance.  The procedure at NeuLogics Mt Pleasant includes the injection of Botox into the upper lip, causing it to “flip” upward and create an appearance of fullness. Some of the results are immediately visible, with full results seen in approximately four to six days. Those results will remain from two to five months, making a lip flip an ideal choice for anyone who wants to test the waters and see how they will like the look of more defined lips.    Image credit: Marco Verch   Fillers Dermal fillers are a somewhat more expensive procedure and take a little longer to do (usually between twenty and thirty minutes). Like a Botox lip flip, Dr Love Mt Pleasant notes that fillers can help define features and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. However, the results can last from six months to a year, and they restore and add volume to the lips in a way that Botox cannot.  There are a variety of fillers on the market, with some of the most popular options containing natural non-animal-based hyaluronic acid, a type of filler that adds both volume and moisture to targeted areas.  Dr Travis Love’s Juvéderm line includes: Juvéderm XC Juvéderm Ultra XC Juvéderm Voluma XC Dr Love NeuLogics also uses these Restylane products: Restylane Restylane Silk Restylane Lyft Restylane Refyne Restylane Defyne   Key differences While a lip flip creates the illusion of a larger upper lip, dermal fillers add actual volume. The type of treatment you choose will probably depend on the effect level you would like and the original size of your lips. Other aspects to consider include the amount of time you would like the effect to last, the price, and if you need the effect to be immediate. While a lip flip takes a week for full results to be seen, fillers offer a substantial immediate visible effect.   A lip flip also requires no recovery time, while a patient who has fillers may take several days to recover after treatment. However, there is still a potential for bruising to occur with either treatment, so expect some downtime the first time just to be on the safe side.  If you’re ready to take the plunge or still trying to decide, book a consultation with Dr Travis Love.    Image credit: Ali Pazani    The post Dr Love Mt Pleasant | Lip Flip vs. Fillers appeared first on Dr Love Mt Pleasant. STUDY ENVIRONMENT
Where is your favorite place to study? My computer, which has three 43″ monitors on top of an actual conference table. It’s nice for spreading out on.
When is your favorite time to study? My favorite is late night studying, between the hours of 10pm to 7 or 8am.
Clean desk or organized mess? Clean desk!!
Music or no music? What type? If I listen to music, it has to be lyric-less music because I get too distracted by the words.
Name top 3 worst distractions. Twitter, my boyfriend (who I live with), and YouTube
Exam time, dress up or dress down? Dress down, because I like to be super comfortable in otherwise stressful exams.

Hardcopy books or pdf online? HARDCOVER - I don’t know what it is but I cannot stand e-textbooks or typing up my notes (despite the fact that I was a computer science major. There’s something special about highlighting an actual book and writing notes down. I feel like you get to spend more time with the material.
Favorite study snack? drink? White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cliff Bar and coffee.
Favorite pen (or pencil)? Pentel Side-click mechanical pencil - I cant stand back-clicks because it makes me change my grip on the pencil every time.

How many notebooks do you have? Five notebooks (one for each class), and one leather portfolio with a legal pad for my volunteer position with the DA’s office.
STUDY HABITS
How do you motivate yourself when you’re not motivated? When I’m not motivated, it’s typically because I’m too anxious. So I’ll take a break, take a bath, have a snack, declutter my desk, and that typically does the trick.
Pump up routine before writing an exam? run through notecards, listen to metal music tbh (I know it’s an unpopular genre but it gets your blood going).
Crammer or pacer? For assignments and general studying, I’m a pacer, and for papers I am a crammer ~ but not a day-before crammer kind of way, just in a I’m-on-a-roll kind of way.
Type of learner (kinesthetic, auditory, visual)? Kinesthetic in the sense that if I don’t physically write it out, I am less likely to remember it. It forces me to take my time with each definition/equation/theory. Then visual in the sense that, when I’m taking a test, I visualize exactly where on what page that information is written on.
How do you plan? (digital, planner, lists, no plan, etc.) Depends. Generally speaking, for my day, I use FamCal which syncs my boyfriend and I’s calendars together. For studying, like which order I’m going to read chapters/start essays/etc, I use notcard to-do lists.
Preferred note-taking method? The outline method, although I am going to attempt the Cornell method this semester.
Do you make to-do lists? How? Yes, religiously. I go class by class, starting with the lightest homework first. For example I’ll start with readings for class A, followed by the online quiz for class B, then begin the rough draft for my paper in class C.
Do you stick to your to-do lists? Yes, about 90% of the time. If I don’t then it’s because it’s for the heavier homework like a rough draft paper in class C, in which case it’s me not following my to-do list because I’m taking a break and finishing later.
Group study or independent study? Independent is good for when I’m in a hyper-focused study session, but groups are really good at motivating me because I’m competitive I want to be the most productive one there.
Average number of hours of sleep during exam time? Probably 8? I have to sleep more than the average person - I’ve been that way my whole life (it’s not a laziness thing). I typically sleep 10 hours or so, and have difficultly sleeping from the anxiousness of the upcoming test.
Ever pulled an all-nighter? Back when my PTSD was really bad I could never sleep at night, so I’d begin studying at 10pm and go to bed at 7 or 8 when dawn starts peeking through my blinds. So I used to be an exclusive “all-nighter”
STUDY MENTALITY
What do you do to recover from getting a grade lower than expected? I figure out where the hell I went wrong. Did the test come from the textbook instead of class notes? Did I focus more on general theories or ideas instead of the specifics like when and where or vice-versa?
One advice you’d give others? There is more than one way to get to where you want to go. I did a lot more writing of papers than weekly assignments in university. For papers, my best advice is to tailor the paper to what the teacher would like for optimal grading leniency. For example, in my Anthropology 380 course ‘Cultures in Conflict,’ I had to write about two cultures that struggled when they met. I may have enjoyed writing about a culture clash such as native amazonian tribes who are expected to stay “primitive” to satisfy the curiosities of american tourism, but I knew my teacher was into anime. So, I wrote my 20 page paper on “The Proliferation of Japanese Anime in American Pop Culture.” I got 110% on that paper (there were XC opportunities for that paper which I took, but I ALSO wasn’t graded down for ANYTHING because she loved the topic so much), and because it counted for so much of my grade, I ended that semester with 104% overall in that class.
What are you most proud of right now? Honestly, my desk. I took so much time on setting it up exactly the way I like it, and it’s so big and aesthetically pleasing that it’s EASY to WANT to study.
Favorite quote to keep you going? Someone somewhere is having a worse day than you. (So even if I don’t want to get up at 7:00am, I should appreciate that it’s my biggest struggle today)
Favorite way to destress? A BATH WITH A LUSH BATH BOMB
OTHER
Favorite 5 studyblrs? I can’t think of them all now, but I will make another post of people that pump out the type of content that made me love Studyblrs in the first place soon.
How often do you check Tumblr? 2x-3x a day?
Hobbies when you’re not studying? Playing video games (overwatch), taking care of my succulent garden (I easily have over 100), and watching political/social commentary on YouTube.
Favorite compulsory-reading book? Suspense/Crime books. I just Finished ‘Women in the Window’ which I read all in one day.
First nerdy joke that pops into your head. There are 10 types of people in this world: those who understand binary, and those who don’t.
