Kate flicked the padlock barring her locker open and wiggled it out of the latch. The door swung open with a metallic creak and clanged against its neighbor as Kate used the ledge to balance her tote bag. Her pre-calc textbook was switched for her writing workshop guide and her purple folder exchanged for her lighter-purple folder when strong arms wrapped around her waist.

“Hey, princess,” America’s chin rested gently on her shoulder. With her came the scent of Kate’s own sweet pea shower gel, since America liked staying over and Kate could still convince her father they were just having girls-only movie nights and sleepovers.

Kate pressed back into the embrace, still fiddling with the contents of her locker. “What are our plans for the afternoon?” A glance at her watch let her know that ‘the afternoon’ was still four hours and three classes away. “Barring some apocalyptic end-of-the-world catastrophe?”

“That was redundant.”

“Still valid”

America shrugged.

“Movie later?” Kate packed her last notebook into her bag.

“Sure.” Kate’s tote was lifted from her grasp and placed neatly atop the stack of books in her locker. “But we don’t have to wait.”

Kate raised an eyebrow but allowed her locker to be shut. She turned to face America, propped against the cool metal. “Why Miss America, are you suggesting that I endanger my modesty while we skip out of school.”

America smirked and leaned into the other girl’s space. She braced one arm against the door of the locker while the other wove two fingers into a belt loop of Kate’s shorts. She was close enough that their noses brushes and Kate playfully tilted her chin up so that her nose nudged America’s more forcefully. America inched closer, right where she knew Kate wanted her to be without ever quite touching their lips together. She chuckled when Kate nudged her again.

“What modesty?”

Before Kate could respond America closed the distance between them. She stole Kate’s response right out of her mouth by finally, finally bringing their lips together. When she pulled away, Kate was still pouting but a smile was threatening to break through the façade.

America stood straight, hands still brushing Kate’s waist. If they were actually going to make it out without being noticed, they had to leave now.

“So movie?”

Kate just grinned and reached for her hand.

Skye curled up in bed and hooked an arm tight around Jemma's stomach, pulling her close.

"I have work," Jemma protested vaguely, a frown on her face as she tried to convince herself it was important work.

"I don't care," Skye replied, kissing her shoulder. "I want you. In bed. And possibly kissing me, though I'm not going to get hung up on that if you're here."

"You're impossible," Jemma said with a little wrinkle of her nose and a smile, pressing a kiss to her forehead when she rolled over. Skye nodded and held her closer, squeezing her hip. 

"Definitely impossible," she said. "But hopefully cuddly."

"I've got things growing in petri dishes, they need me," Jemma protested. Skye rolled her eyes.

"I need you," she said, "and I can't fit in a petri dish, so you have to pay attention to me."

Jemma sighed and pecked her on the cheek, nuzzling noses with her before getting up. "Give me five minutes, I'll be back."

"Five minutes," Skye said, "or I'll come after you. Naked."

"God, don't do that to Grant, he'll die," Jemma said with a little chuckle as she threw a robe on and went to check her samples.

"Five minutes!" 

Jemma smiled and shook her head, heading down the hall and toward the lab as quickly as she could.

Fem!Ame/Fem!Can, comic con?

They're Batgirl and Supergirl, respectively. In between panels, perverts want them to pose, maybe make-out a little, and even if Amelia's game, Maddie just frowns, her cape fluttering behind her when she turns away.

It's fun, but it's more fun out of costume, when they don't have to deal with all those idiots.

(Amelia kisses Maddie later and promises that next year they'll go as Transformers.)

How do you feel about Tim?

Tim is like a toast. He’s alright. He has a rather interesting development, with a rather simple background. You have like the toast, and it’s super simple, then it’s what you add on that will make it or break it. Of course you need a nice toast, it can’t be a shitty burnt toast. Just a nice toast. That’s Tim when he began, he was nice, the concept is really nice. 

From the not-all-that-much that I’ve read his actual origin is weird, and I don’t like some of the approaches, but I love the concept a lot. And then he’s actually a really nice Robin but is not what Dick was or what Jason was, so it was nice to see the mantle being carried in a different way, by a boy that actually had a family, and that in a certain way did have to treat this as a double life, because he was Tim Drake and he was Robin.

I love how things started out simple for him, as they did for the others. I love the dumb faces he used to make and how oblivious he could be, but that kid had like a great amount of dedication and he had really strong beliefs. So the toast was like starting to look really good. I’m not going to delve into arcs or plots. But he was a nice kid who could make dumb decisions.

After he lost his family and his friends though, that’s when things get messy. And it’s like the toppings have to change because he changed a lot, and the ratio of those dumb smiles he had decrease a whole fucking lot. Not long after this you can pinpoint a good number of differences in his attitude and how more than ever he needs to have thing under his control, and he needs to know what’s happening. He starts to act a bit more like Bruce, I still think he was the most similar to Bruce in methods.

Then lmao Bruce “died” and he basically lost a major anchor. Then he had to stop being Robin and he kind of started to do things on his own, and I’m at a point where I just admire the dude’s determination. There are some things that I like about him as Red Robin, as much as there are a lot of things that bother me about him as Red Robin in Red Robin. I have to admit I do take a twisted pleasure out of the writing sometimes, sometimes I love the coldness, I love sometimes the distinct difference of how he was when he was younger and what he became. But I wish we could see his more valuable traits more often, because Tim is not all 100% Asshole. I don’t have a great grasp on Tim, and I have some hardship interpreting him sometimes, so I can’t really write with a whole lot of confidence. 

But he’s scary with how determined he can be. He’s not one to be content with an almost, I like how he feels the need to be prepared, but I don’t like it in a Bruce way.

Ok, so let’s sum things up: Tim is a toast. Sometimes he’s a really nice toast. Other times he’s a soggy toast. When I feel like his face is appropriate he’s a moist toast. Tim is really nice, and I love him lots but I also wanna beat him with a stick a lot sometimes.

Kate awoke with the day, sunlight streaming through the dingy cotton hanging in the window of the inn. Careful not to disturb the body beside hers, she rose from the bed to replace her trousers, shirt, and vest. When she sat on the edge of her bed to pull on her boots, America joined her in the land of the living.

"Mornin' Missy," Kate greeted. She didn't have to lean very far across the thin, hard mattress to meet America in a kiss. Kate continued her morning routine. One glance outside and America pouted.

"Up with the sun again," America rose an eyebrow to Kate checking her holsters, "and leavin' already, I see."

"Got a busy day ahead of me," Kate beamed and slipped her slick black Stetson onto her head. She couldn't look away as the slight tilt of America's head sent brown curls cascading across the pillow. "Wouldn't you know there are two trains leavin' t'day."

America sighed. "You know I'll have to take you in one day, Princess."

Kate placed her hand atop America's and winked. "You'll have to catch me first."
