So today on wild PF bullshit (technically not today but today in reporting) but a few days ago I basically I guess split for like 3 seconds, looked at the Nero DMC guy standing next to me, and then went "Hell nah we don't do that in this house, thats a Riku TM thing and theres only enough space for one of me" and took that as a wake up call to stop being a simmering pussy and get over myself

I actually had thought I caught it before it was an actual official split but now my brain keeps giving me source vibes at DMC which I used to only have fan vibes from so that's funny I guess - I GUESS I'm adding another source even though I hardly fucking changed but OKAY brain

But shit aside, it really did give me a pretty good hard reboot that I needed to really get over myself and Cope cause honestly, this past year I've been calling myself over my approach to gender being dog shit and stupid and against my principles which had me sitting here going "You know youd have better results in finding the real solution to the real issue if you gave up on this stupid singular point that is not even that important" and yet I really couldn't overpower it cause I am still, in fact, a traumatized EP so my emotional mind does hold a much stronger grasp on me than my rational or wise mind.

Now that I think my split AND fusion back together has stabilized though, I'm realizing that the HUGE hang up I had over gender was a huge inheritance from XIV 1.0 that was such a huge topic during our fusion that - despite it no longer aligning with how I handle and operate things presently - combined with XIV 1.0's excessive triggered stubbornness really led to it being passed onto me - XIV 2.0 - almost unadultered

Cause XIV 1.0 was a huge fucking mess driven by a lot of neglect trauma and competition for resources and very much was VERY aggressive and honestly jealous over people having their needs met a lot easier than him and often leaned towards aggression to those that were "privileged" than actually, you know, fixing his situation. Post fusion, most realms of that swapped over to how I am now and all, but the gender shit stuck around cause I think, while I was fusing way back then XIV 1.0 had that as a non-negotiable because "if I am okay with it and let it go then I LOSE and I never fucking lose" which is dumb and gay cause I - as XIV 2.0 - know that the REASON we never lose is because we are FLEXIBLE with what we want and are much more targeting a CONCEPT than a THING and that shit is a THING.

Anyways, XIV 1.0 has been given a year plus to hold onto that POST fusion and I think its about time we get our balls together and really honestly get over it and stop self pitying cause that's real big pussy shit of us and We Don't Do That in this House.

It really adds to the list of "reasons I have no right to say I'm better than everyone (half joking to non-system mates) and a badass cause this is a real normie way of thinking which is VALID but we (as a fused whole) hold ourselves to a higher standard than us" which while I acknowledge, I like to keep low on my decision of how to live my life.

Anyways TLDR I guess I'm Nero now too??? /hj

You know upon thinking about it maybe I'm harsh on Minfilia's design because it kinda reminds me of Ashe's design. And Ashe's design is an all time nadir for the franchise literally prime example of a design's ability to just ruin a character under certain circumstances

This is probably the most complete as well as one of the better quality uploads of the 1.x quest "Futures Perfect" that I've seen.

The Path Companion was a partner for the WoL, someone to make and give commentary during the storyline. They were customizable like a retainer; you chose their race/gender (of the available 1.0 options), class, and personality type. They were also Ala Mhigan originally, with a (variable) relative in the Resistance.

The WoL is defended, and spoken to at the end, by their starter city archon (this is during the Circle of Knowing/Path of the Twelve era, as the Scions were formed by combining the organizations after the Calamity).

This is also the introduction of Gaius van Baelsar as an imperial enemy; going forward there were scenes that include him shooting Cid for being angry and insulting, and also talking to WoL about how Gaius disagrees with Nael van Darnus's plans and the Meteor Project. But here, he crushes the Resistance's operation and gets into a fight with the archons--that only ends when he calls in an airstrike, sending WoL into a brief Echo vision before returning home to get medical aid for their companion.

UFO over Ul'dah

So, FFXIV 1.0 had a lot of interesting things that appear in the sky. Dalamud being a big example, but in Mor Dhona you can see Garlean airships as well. Over Ul'dah is this little thing, which look like either an Ixal Balloon or some sort of Garlean flying thing (the ones that basically look like a pole with wings you see time to time). I dunno. I thought it was interesting, so I took a picture of it. If any of you have an idea what it is, please let me know!

I took this pic during 1.0 on the final day before they closed the servers. I believe it was Nov 2012. I took this in the city before I went to Mor Dhona for the "final battle". My character was called Keia and she was a Warrior.

This pic is taken during the 2023 Winter event in the same spot. Keia is now Keian and a male miqote. I still play as WAR but I'm currently on GNB.
