finally… my ordeal is over… the beast has been vanquished…

if i’ve ever mentioned working on other projects before, this video is what i was talking about. i’ve been trying to work on this for years, which seems ridiculous since it’s such a simple vid, but i’ve had this concept in mind since i worked with windows live movie maker (which is, admittedly, not a good program to make crossovers with). it didn’t help that i next tried to work on this when i was still a newbie with vegas and then finally in 2020, which has just been… absolutely terrible. that’s also why i didn’t try doing my own masking or coloring for this, so i slapped some typography in here to make it more my own

the “storyline,” as it is, is that the elsa’s lettin’ it go and then reminiscing about meeting a cute scottish princess at her coronation b4 freaking out and revealing her ice powers. merida then remembers her own problems from her movie (in my head, that took place three or four years ago, but lol this isn’t a fanfic so who cares) and eventually goes after a very surprised elsa

what happens next? how does merida’s presence affect frozen 2 or any of those godawful sequel “shorts”? idk man this is why i make fanvids and not fanfics

also, why is merida sitting down at the party? doylist reason: those were the best masks i found that both fit the story i wanted to tell and also covered up the foreground characters bc there are no unobstructed shots of the people moving around in the bg that would make merida look like she actually belonged in the movie watsonian reason: uhhh she’s got medieval jet lag

favorite song: I don’t think I have long-term favorite song? I do often come back to Boyinaband’s “I’m not dead” (too relatable) and “Empty” (can’t personally relate but I still cry every time and the beat is epic)

favorite instrument: violin! definitely. it’s so beautiful. And I hear it’s very hard so respect to everyone who learns it!

aesthetic: casual, I think? Like pretty is fine but if it ain’t comfy it’ll be yeeted. Also minimal skin whenever possible.  As for visually, I do really like victorian-ish stuff which is pretty fitting considering my name is Viktoria. I also really like violet and blue tones as well as a warmer overall atmosphere to it? And turquoise. Turquoise is life.

favorite author: I don’t read nearly enough to be allowed to answer this hahaaahah, i don’t think I have one.

favorite animal noise: whale noises I think, very close to cat purring, it’s just so calming.

random: I have a guitar but i never learned it lol --- apparantly it was very expensive too, so I’m thinking about either selling it and giving the money back to my aunt (which I know she’ll never accept) or just learning it once we move and I get my own room (we currently live in a one-room apartment). Because I do also have a training dvd. I definitely aren’t good at music and notes and all that, but... maybe it’ll be interesting even if it doesn’t go anywhere! Keeping my brain fresh haha.

I also can’t swim which is ironic bc I’m aquarius.

didn’t really want to use so many different colorings, but that’s kinda just what happens when you want a vid with so many different lightings and moods to look nice the whole time through

anyway, this was a nightmare to edit, which i should have seen coming; a song with beats like these and a (very lovely, to be clear!) video that’s essentially a detailed animatic? i think i did well for the most part, though i feel like i could’ve done better in the instrumental sections. whatever, it’s done now, and i don’t have to worry about it anymore

more typography! the fonts i used this time are “Terry Script” by Vic Fieger, “True Blue” by Pedro Kisuco (xpeehdroox), and “Monster Unleashed” by Jonathan S. Harris. the font i used for the credits (which i added basically to just to make the ending look less empty) is “Deansgate Condensed Bold” by K-Type

also, if anyone sees this and is familiar with the song: yes, i cut some lines out, not because i didn’t like them but because i knew i didn’t have good enough footage for things like booze or amazons. i also know the official lyrics say “clickediclack,” but i used the more conventional spelling for the title and typo just to make things more clear
