Heyyyy, hope you don't mind me asking -

I'm currently working on a follower mod & as part I want to implement an elk mount. I've got it mostly working, but have an issue where in testing I mount the elk & the player char just floats midair while the arrow keys move the elk (but not the player, who the camera is centered on.) taking a look at auri in the ck, the main difference seems to be skeleton that thistlefoot uses (mine is currently on the vanilla deer skeleton). I'm presuming that's whats causing this; so can I ask - what changes did you make for thistlefoots skeleton? (If you can remember; I seem to remember somewhere hearing that you had issues trying to open auri in the CK or something like that?)

Hey Flowerofnemo! Oh man, it's been a long time since I built Thistlefoot... I don't recall having that particular problem, but as you know, Thistlefoot has been causing 99% of the mod's problems in other ways. :') I built Thistlefoot in the Oldrim CK, so there might be differences because of that. What I did was that I opened up the Yakkuru mod in the CK and tried to see how they did it, and then followed that example. I still can't open the CK so I can't check for you, but feel free to just copy what I did with Auri. I didn't make any changes to the skeleton myself, it's the same one that is included in Tumbajamba's assets. My guess would be that the vanilla deer skeleton is not built to be a mount, which is why it leaves the player suspended mid-air. Take a look at Tumba's assets and see if you can use one of those for the skeleton.

Mononoke Hime ou ( Princesse Mononoké )

Un jeune guerrier du nom d'Ashitaka est le chef de son village... Mais un jour, il se fait blesser par un sanglier nommé Nago, rendu fou par les démons... Il doit donc quitter les siens et partir à la recherche du Dieu Cerf qui, lui seul, pourra défaire le sortilège, si celui-ci en a envie. Il part donc avec son Chowka Roux, Yakkuru.

Là où Ashitaka se dirige, les animaux sont maîtres de la forêt... ils font la taille de Yakkuru... même plus... bref : ils sont gigantesques !!

Au cours de son voyage, Ashitaka rencontre Lady Eboshi, une femme, chef d'une communauté de forgerons. Elle doit se défendre contre ceux qui lui reprochent de détruire la forêt du Dieu Cerf pour alimenter ses forges... Parmi ses pires ennemis se trouve San, une jeune fille élevée par la Déesse des loups du nom de Moro. San est appelée par ses "ennemis" mais surtout les forgerons "Princesse Mononoké", la Princesse des Spectres...

Ashitaka se sent obligé d'arrêter la guerre entre les forgerons et les loups... tout en recherchant le Dieu Cerf qui habite un endroit sacré que San et ses frères défendent...

Princess Mononoke (1997)

Princess Mononoke is a great movie by the Hayao Miyazaki which made Studio Ghibli recognized by the whole world. The release date of the movie is 1997 and it has marvelous scenes which can’t be shown on the live-action movies at these years. It tells an epic story set in medieval Japan. When humankind still living in harmony with nature and some men found out that they can defeat nature and take control of it. At the dawn of the Iron age, the story tells us how humans, forest and nature gods all fight for their beliefs.

The movie opens in a little isolated town which is located near the forest. The boar-god/demon came out of the forest and attack on villagers. The boar-god is possessed by the black, snake-shaped curse. Since it is a boar-god it has been poisoned by its hatred and became a demon itself. The young prince of his isolated people, Ashitaka able to slay the demon but his arm has been infected by the curse of the demon-god. Ashitaka found out that bullet buried itself in boar-god’s flesh and drove the god mad. A wise woman told that Ashitaka is dying because of the curse and as the last prince of the people he has to cut his hair and leave the town for not to comeback. He has to find the answers for why nature is out of joint and how the curse on his arm be healed. Ashitaka rides Yakkuru to the West. This is how the adventure starts.

On the way, there are interesting sights and adventures which shows Miyazaki’s artistry. While the studio uses clear lines for characters, they use detailed and majestic drawings for forest and views. Especially glowing forest spirits are designed beautifully. End of the journey Ashitaka arrives in an area that is protected by Moro the wolf god and the girl named San aka Princess Mononoke, Mononoke means a spirit of a beast. Ashitaka saw her face the first time and impressed at first sight. San was a human child raised by Moro. She rides bareback on the white spirit wolves. She helps the battle against Lady Eboshi, a strong ruler who developing ironworking skills and manufactures weapons. Her people enjoy her protection because she protects leftover people in her village and gave them a reason to live, she gives them good conditions to live and she wants more power. Between nature and people, Ashitaka understands that everybody has their reasons and they have to live together. In this period interest between Ashitaka and San become feeling.

Miyazaki chooses that age because he wanted his characters freer then after civilization. Before the Iron age, while there are still little towns, people were freer. Women were freer. He wants to act them out of social rules. The movie is not about a good side and a bad side. It is about the whole system we created and we have to keep balance with nature. When we lost the connection as a human whole world cursed. But meanwhile, Miyazaki wants to Show us that even this world is cursed there are reasons to live, the story is about how Ashitaka starts to understand the San and how Princess Mononoke opens her heart to Ashitaka by time. At the end of the movie, San told to Ashitaka that ‘’I love you but I Can’t forgive humankind.’’ And Ashitaka responds that ‘’It’s not important wouldn’t you live with me?’’

Day 15 - Favourite animal sidekick, pet or summoning from any anime

Much as I love cats, when it comes to companions from an anime I’ll have to go for Yakkuru from (you guessed it!) Mononoke Hime. Yakkuru is Ashitaka’s red elk friend. I hesitate to call him anything else because to my mind that’s always what he’s been. He’s loyal and always looks out for Ashitaka, even to the point of putting his own safety at risk.
