YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO FIGHT ME NOT F*CK ME!
yan! school grass (most handsome/perfect guy)/rival x crossdresser! male! reader x yan! friends - part one
tw/cw: mention of abusive parents (but not reader’s) and yandere themes. also your rival has some repressed sexual urges, he really needs to get laid or some head or something-
just read migi and dali and gahd NOW I WANNA WRITE A WHOLE CROSSDRESS /GENDERBENDER BL NOVEL IM IN HORRID ROTTING
Like I imagine this the best with stoic and/or tsun yans the best. You know those types that want to be perfect but only feels perfect when they’re with reader.
ive always loved these tropes as a kid, from mulan to that one tawog episode where darwin fell in love with fem! gumball and like this was even before i knew i wasnt cis but gahd AAAAAAA
also inspired by @moyazaika ‘s rival work. go read it!!
but anyways have the fic, lowercase intentional for first part to differentiate povs.
it was a dare given by your friend group earlier last weekend. wear the girls uniform and a wig for the entire month. it was easy to get the materials necessary for the most part. your mother had several wigs and was more than happy to style her son in feminine clothing. she was just amazing and supportive about your whims like that.
it didn’t take long for you to realize that no one recognized you in your new look.
the day started like many of your other ones at the school, you’d race your rival as the first one in class and whoever wins gets rights to a smug look on their face until the next thing you guys eventually compete on.
but unlike the crestfallen expression you expected — nay wanted — from that stupid pretty boy, you were greeted by what you could only described as complete bafflement.
“what?” despite having a different reaction from what you imagined, you managed to keep a composed appearance. “cat got your tongue?”
“ah. . .”
and that were the only words he said to you the entire day. nothing else. not a single groan of anger whenever you answered everything correctly, he didn’t even attempt at stopping you mid-way or disagree with you answer simply because he wanted to annoy you.
and so you couldn’t help it, as soon as the bell rang signalling lunch time you swiftly turned around to face him.
“are you alright?”
you inquired. not at all worried about his well-being at the slightest. you hated him with all your being after all and you didn’t make an effort to be soft with your tone either.
“h-huh?” he looked dazed. like his head had been in the clouds and you just yanked him down to ground.
your rival never got distracted.
“you—“ you reached out about to smack his face to keep him in check.
“if you’ll excuse me!” he smacked your hand out of the way, screeched at you, and then left in a hurry to who knows where.
nevermind that was definitely him. that silly brat hated it whenever you touched him. he must have just been having issues at home again or something.
Haoyu was trembling — shaking uncontrollably as his breaths turned more shallow by the second. His heart was pumping blood in places of his body where it shouldn’t have been in the middle of school hours. Sweat lined his entire skin and it didn’t help how the bathroom he rushed into had nothing to keep the temperature down.
Who were you?
You sat at his rival’s seat. That nasty kid that always got in his nerves. No one questioned the boy’s absence and he would have asked the teachers on what had happened if you didn’t suddenly take his breath away.
You were, ethereal. Otherworldy even. When he first saw you he was taken away by the way your hair moved in the wind (if only he knew . . .).
Still, he was far too distracted by [Y/N]’s absence to properly let the feeling simmer.
Then, all that went away when you reeled in his mind back at you again at class. You were incredible, capable, intelligent, and oh so perfect. But unlike that stupid child that usually sat in front of him, he did not feel an ounce of envy at all.
If only who could see your eyes as you spoke; the tone of your voice conveyed so much passion that he wanted to see in those beautiful (e/c) orbs.
And his prayers were granted by none other than the goddess that is you,
“Are you alright?”
Your voice? Oh your voice! Haoyu’s heard it already of course, but each new time you spoke it was like a whole new melody, a new piece that immediately turned into his favorite.
His mind was too fried with these thoughts, thoughts that his parents would no doubt beat out of him if they found out.
His feels the parts down there suddenly move. He wasn’t completely unfamiliar with the phenomenon. He wasn’t without his hormones after all. But this was the first time it ever reacted that way so strongly, like if he didn’t give it attention himself it’d explode.
“Mmph…”
And for the time in his entire life, Haoyu does something he knew his parents would definitely be disappointed if not livid about. A hand on his mouth, and another in his school uniform’s pants.
lunch time.
you usually spent those studying or preparing for the next class as hanging out with your friends always ended with you being too distracted to do schoolwork but today you had to show up with ‘proof’ that you went through with their dare.
“yiran ? yichen ?”
no response.
you sighed. as usual, the twins were late. what did you expect? those two would be caught dead before they could be early much less found in the library.
and so you spent the entire time reading,
unaware of the crowd that formed around you while you were busy studying.

━◈ WANTED CONNECTIONS ... three new ones have been added to the page!
there are tales of how li haoyu is searching for their two younger siblings, which is familial in nature. the records show that they are about 22-28 years old and their photographs look like dylan wang, lu yuxiao, zhao lusi, ju jingyi, fan chengcheng, yan an, song yuqi, xiao dejun, wang ziyi, sun yihan, bi wenjun, shen yue, wang yijin, chen zhuoxuan, wang zhuocheng, chen zheyuan, wu lei, lin yanjun, liu lingzi, any chinese fc in the appropriate age range. help us find them, but make sure that you speak to karin at @kencanas on tumblr beforehand. this is their story so far: a lot of haoyu’s siblings’ personalities are utp and we can discuss the details! but their shared backstory is that the li family is local to cynefin and are very rooted to the land. they’re literally just a normal family working normal jobs, with haoyu for example being a blacksmith. they do okay, but i definitely don’t imagine them to be Rich & the eldest two siblings at least probably did not get tertiary education. affinity for khemia across their bloodline is also very poor, but i’m down to discuss one of the siblings potentially being khemia-touched for the #drama because haoyu is very bitter they aren’t. tldr; details utp!
there are tales of how li haoyu is searching for their employer, which is platonic/professional in nature. the records show that they are about 40+ years old and their photographs look like omar sy, qin lan, michael greyeyes, zahn mcclarnon, aishwarya rai, gabrielle union, lukman sardi, jericho rosales, lucy liu, simone kessell, vera farmiga, alexander skarsgard, sandra oh, maggie q, gong yoo, lupita nyong’o, tessa thompson, alex meraz, pedro pascal, ke huy quan, fan bingbing, joe taslim, fc ultimately utp. help us find them, but make sure that you speak to karin at @kencanas on tumblr beforehand. this is their story so far: haoyu apprenticed at the local blacksmith’s forged upon graduating secondary school and has remained working there ever since. haoyu has (or at least had) a pretty good relationship with them, especially since he’s quite disciplined and passionate about his work. i imagine that because haoyu doesn’t have an affinity for khemia, however, it’s hard for him to progress in his career. would love if this muse is trained in transmutation & that is causing a bit of a rift between the two of them—because without khemia, haoyu can’t get to their level. this muse’s personality & how they ended up becoming a blacksmith really are all utp, and i’m more than happy to brainstorm further details.
there are tales of how li haoyu is searching for their narrative foil/rival, which is antagonistic in nature. the records show that they are about 27-33 years old and their photographs look like go younjung, do kyungsoo, pat chayanit, woo dohwan, melisa asli pamuk, apo nattawin, taz skylar, avan jogia, fady elsayed, sakaguchi kentaro, medalion rahimi, daniel ezra, alisha boe, damson idris, jackson wang, tiana okoye, ryan destiny, kylie verzosa, dilraba dilmurat, clark backo, gong jun, kang haneul, adonis bosso, pinar deniz, ashika pratt, bie thassapak hsu, fc ultimately utp. help us find them, but make sure that you speak to karin at @kencanas on tumblr beforehand. this is their story so far: the main thing i’m looking for with this muse is that they have a strong affinity for khemia, particularly in transmutation, which would be something haoyu both hates and envies. i imagine their narratives would parallel and foil each other’s at the same time, but how that is exactly is up for discussion. all i ask is that at present, their relationship is largely antagonistic and Not Great. whether they have history or not can also be discussed! some ideas include but are not limited to an ex student of verum who was an outsider, haoyu’s work rival, a young business owner who takes advantage of their transmutation magic, someone who supplies weapons to the warfront, and many more. basically this dynamic is toxic, biting, and crazy.

Using the Holt-Winters Model for Trading Bitcoin and Gold
Investing in gold and bitcoin can be a great way to diversify your portfolio and protect your wealth. Gold is a physical asset that has been used as a currency for centuries. Bitcoin is a digital asset that was created in 2009. These assets have attracted the attention of traders and investors due to their volatility and potential for high returns.
Reference [1] proposed a method based on the Holt-Winters model [2,3] for trading gold and bitcoin. The Holt-Winters model is a statistical technique that is used to forecast time series data.  It utilizes exponential moving averages to smooth out the data and make forecasts.
The Holt-Winters model has three parameters:
- Alpha (α): controls the level of the time series,
- Beta (β): controls the trend of the time series, and
- Gamma (γ): controls the seasonality of the time series.
The model is fit to data using the least squares method. The fitted model can then be used to make predictions about future values of the time series.
The authors pointed out,
The present study outlines a mathematical model and trading strategy that maximize the profits in gold-bitcoin trading. The only data used were the historical prices of gold and bitcoin. To avoid some limitations in previous study, both financial methods and statistical analysis were applied in this study. In financial aspect, indicators like relative strength index (RSI), momentum index and simple moving average (SMA) were computed. Trading shrink ratio was also calculated to control the trading volume. In statistical aspect, non-seasonal Holt-Winters’ Model was applied to predict price dynamics. A trading strategy was developed combing both financial and statistical information. The result indicates that traders can make huge profit by using our strategy. In addition, the sensitivity test suggests that the change of commission fees has little impact on our model.
Given the amount of research presented in the paper, we think that the authors have made a bold claim. We believe, however, that the idea of applying a predictive technique to trading has its merits, and it’s worth investigating how one can incorporate models such as the Holt-Winters into the trading framework.
Let us know what you think in the comments below or in the discussion forum.

Dead Pigs    [trailer]
A bumbling pig farmer, a feisty salon owner, a sensitive busboy, an expat architect and a disenchanted rich girl converge and collide as thousands of dead pigs float down the river towards a rapidly-modernizing Shanghai.
The lies we tell to keep up an appearance.
The episodes themselves are mostly familiar. But they are nicely connected and take place in an unusual setting for Western viewers. It shines a light on the ruthless side of Chinese capitalism.
It's not surprising to learn during the end credits that Jia Zhangke was a producer. It feels like a somewhat lighter version of many of his films.

Home
I woke amid the smell of food.
I sat up on the bed, looked at the familiar furniture, then looked at the work clothes on my body. It took a while before I realized that I was at home.
MC: How did I get home…
I recalled what happened in the morning. After a while, I finally remembered that I had fallen dizzily into Zuo Ran’s arms.
I took my phone on the shelf at the head of the bed – it was already dinnertime.
MC: Xia Yan’s last call! My god, he must be worried to death!
I hurriedly dialed Xia Yan’s number back.
MC: I’m sorry, I’m sorry, Xia Yan, I’d fallen asleep so I didn’t pick up your calls the whole time.
As soon as the call went through I hastily apologized.
Xia Yan: I know. Before, I called your phone, and Zuo Ran picked up. I’m on the road to Rainbow River Village right now.
MC: Lawyer Zuo, at my house? Right, it seems that he sent me back.
Only now did I realize that the fragrance of food from downstairs seemed to be Zuo Ran making food.
Xia Yan: I’m sorry. I should’ve been by your side, protecting you.
MC: Don’t worry, I was just too tired. After sleeping, I’m all better.
MC: You and Lawyer Zuo are both worrying too much.
MC: I troubled Lawyer Zuo to make a meal for me – in a moment, I must properly thank him.
MC: Right, didn’t you go to find Youyou to get the clue in the password bucket? Why are you going to Rainbow River Village again? Didn’t you rest at all?
Xia Yan: The clue in the password cylinder wasn’t the proof that we thought it was. Instead, it’s the birthday present Kong Moli gave to Youyou.
Xia Yan: I’m going to Rainbow River Village to find Sun Heping to get documents.
Xia Yan: This time, I’m having a friend drive. This car belongs to him anyways.
Xia Yan: I wouldn’t dare to drive while tired – I even slept on the car.
MC: Documents?
Xia Yan: That’s right. Documents that, apparently, Kong Moli specially left with Sun Heping.
MC: Specially left with him, then could it be…
Xia Yan: I’m guessing that it might have to do with that laboratory of Heirson.
MC: Why did Sun Heping suddenly tell us that there was this document?
Xia Yan: Before I picked up his call, the city police station sent out people to go to Wang Han’s house to get evidence.
Xia Yan: Sun Heping must have guessed the results of the investigation, and felt that we were worthy of trust.
MC: But why did Kong Moli entrust important documents to Sun Heping?
MC: Looking at the two of them, they don’t have close relations.
Xia Yan: Before I went, I investigated Sun Heping’s detailed background information. I noticed that aside from a daughter who lives out of town, he actually also has a son.
Xia Yan: His son is also a reporter. 10 years ago, his son accidentally noticed a child trafficking ring in the middle of interviewing.
Xia Yan: To find out about this criminal transaction chain, his son snuck into the ring undercover.
Xia Yan: When his son obtained evidence that could bring the group of people to justice, because his identity was revealed, he was murdered.
Xia Yan: Not only that, but rumours were spread about his son being a human trafficker, so the villagers treated his son as an serious matter that must be kept secret.
Xia Yan: The Sun family members regarded his son as shameful and were unwilling to bring him up, but Sun Heping has always believed that his son was innocent.
Xia Yan: The trust between Kong Moli and Sun Heping might have been mysteriously, inexorably established by this similarity…
MC: …
MC: Xia Yan, tell Grandpa Sun that I will definitely get back justice for Kong Moli.
MC: I won’t let the tragedy that happened to his son reenact itself!
Xia Yan: I believe in you. You’ll definitely get it done.
After hanging up the phone, I saw that Zuo Ran had sent me a voice message.
Zuo Ran: I heard that you’ve awoken. Do you feel somewhat better?
Zuo Ran: I’ve finished making food. Remember to eat first, then work. Or, you can simply rest for today.
Zuo Ran: I’ve left Mu Ziyou’s power of attorney agreement on the coffee table. The indictment also has already been submitted.
Zuo Ran: This case should go into open trial after criminal procedures. It’s not too urgent.
Zuo Ran: It’s not convenient for me to stay at your house, so I’ll leave first. If there’s anything, call me.
MC: Thank you, Lawyer Zuo…
The air was filled with the taste of freshness, seeping in through my nose to the bottom of my heart.
In this occupation, Lawyer Zuo must sometimes see the uglier side of humanity.
Like Wang Han and Qiu Heng – for monetary profit, they did not hesitate to murder people who sincerely helped them.
And like Liu Hao and Zhao Yuncui, whose disregard, in their greed and jealousy, even catalyzed evil events.
But this is only a small percentage.
In life, what we encounter more of is the ordinary warmth found in a day with three meals. It’s the mutual sharing of meager resources in times of adversity.
From time to time, these good things can give me strength when I am crushed by darkness, with no way to gasp for a breath.
And it’s also these good things that stand by me from start to finish, so I can walk towards the light.
--
Two weeks before trial opens for the case of Heirson Health Products Company violating Kong Moli’s reputation…
--
Baldr Law Firm
Inside Baldr Law Firm’s meeting room, there was a cloud of worry and misery…
Liu Wei: I’m not taking it. Why should I have to take the case just because the lawsuit last time was taken by me?
Liu Wei: A sentence has already been pronounced for the case of Kong Moli’s murder. The two people who covered up Heirson’s crime have already been sentenced. The media have already reported on this.
Liu Wei: It’s clear that this reputation case cannot be won. I’m not going.
Cai Haoyu: If you don’t go, doesn’t that basically mean that we’re telling the whole world that Baldr Law Firm’s high-level lawyer fears Themis’s entry-level lawyer?
Liu Wei: Cai Haoyu, stop saying cool words. You lost to that woman last time, after all.
Cai Haoyu: That time was just a mistake for me!
Liu Wei: Then this time, go prove that you won’t make a mistake!
Cai Haoyu: Heirson isn’t my client. I’m not getting on there to drop my win rate!
On their side, Luo Yuhao knocked on the file folder. Cai Haoyu and Liu Wei shut up in an instant.
Luo Yuhao: No need to bring up “high-level lawyer” now. Do you not know where your gold badges come from?
Luo Yuhao: If we don’t keep trying, Zhai Xing will be able to successfully test for the high-level lawyer qualification. At that time, Themis will have two well-priced, genuine high-level lawyers.
Luo Yuhao: Our number-one throne will then have to be handed over.
Liu Wei: Then I can’t take this case even more.
Luo Yuhao: You are Qin Shan’s lawyer. Every year, you take such high commissions from him. Suddenly saying that you won’t take the lawsuit…
Luo Yuhao: If this gets out, will Baldr have a reputation to talk about?
Luo Yuhao: What if the opponent makes a mistake and gives you an opportunity? Plus, what lawyer hasn’t lost a lawsuit.
Liu Wei: That Zuo Ran might…
Cai Haoyu: Stop stop stop. Do you want to grow his ambition and destroy your own prestige?
Liu Wei snuck a glance at Luo Yuhao. Luo Yuhao stared at him icily, clearly also displeased with his unspoken words.
Liu Wei: Fine, I’ll take it, alright?
Liu Wei: I’ve sacrificed too much for our law firm.

Tears of Themis : Chapter 1 “Social Snobbery” Part 16 [Court Stage]
[Previous Part] | [Masterlist] | [Next Part]
youtube
(Wednesday, the court was called to order. I sat in the court waiting room, looking at the memory card that Xue XinRan had handed me, and couldn’t help but feel troubled.)
~~~Flashback~~~
Tumblr media
Xue XinRan:
“Grandpa Fang told me before that there was actually a hidden camera inside the kitchen. It was something that Lu HaiYang had suggested for Grandpa Fang to install. It was to make sure that none of the employees slack off, but who would’ve thought… Grandpa Fang wishes for this piece of evidence not to be used in the case unless it’s absolutely necessary. Otherwise, he would feel like he had personally sent Lu HaiYang to prison, and he’ll have to live with a guilty conscience.”
~~~Flashback ends~~~
(In the footage, at 7:32AM on the day of the incident, Lu HaiYang can be clearly seen removing the water pump from the container and dumping Insect Repellent 330 into it. Then, Lu HaiYang seemed to be afraid that the concentration was too high, so he dumped out a portion of the contaminated water and refilled the spring water container with tap water. Then, Lu HaiYang disappears from the footage for several minutes. I’m guessing that’s when he feared the dosage would be too weak to cause a reaction and tampered with the water pump in order to add pesticide in the water chamber. However, this theory can’t be supported with security footage, nor did Fang Yuan see it with his own eyes. The existence of this footage explains why Mr. Fang was so sure that the culprit was Lu HaiYang, yet he did not clean the water pump.)
MC: “Lu HaiYang must have been struggling with his conscience… But in the end, the thirst for monetary success blinded him…”
(Even when I held the incriminating evidence in my hand, I didn’t feel happy. Just then, my phone vibrated as Xia Yan’s text message pops up on the screen.)
MC: “The super detective that helped me with the case can’t make it today? Sigh… I was hoping that he’d get to see the verdict…”
~~~
(Zuo Ran stood in front of the windows in his office, lost in thought. He pulled out his phone and dialed.)
Tumblr media
Zuo Ran: “Mo Yi, it’s me. I found a suitable candidate for our investigative group. According to protocol, all we need is for you to administer the psychological assessment.”
Zuo Ran: “...”
Zuo Ran: “I’m discussing work. I don’t need you to concern yourself with my personal matters.”
Zuo Ran: “...”
Zuo Ran: “Mm. I’ll set up an appointment for her to come and see you as soon as possible.”
▌ Location: Civil Court, 10:00AM
Tumblr media
Judge: “‘QingPing Restaurant’s food poisoning settlement case,’ the court is now in session. I call upon the plaintiff’s lawyer to state the litigation request.”
Tumblr media
Cai HaoYu: “I, Cai HaoYu, senior associate of Bader Law Firm, will represent the six customers, including Zhang Qiang, who filed a lawsuit against QingPing Restaurant. The third day of this month, on Friday, Zhang Qiang and company dined at QingPing Restaurant for lunch. Due to the restaurant’s negligence in management, the spring water used to cook the sea fish and tofu soup was contaminated, resulting in my clients experiencing abdominal pain and diarrhea, requiring hospital treatment. This incident has not only caused bodily harm to my clients, but also left them with psychological trauma. Since the incident, my clients have lost their love for cuisine and can no longer consume food normally. Therefore, my clients are looking for a settlement of two hundred thousand dollars in damages - per person - from QingPing Restaurant.”
Judge: “Does the defendant disagree with the plaintiff’s statement?
MC: “The defendant for this case, Mr. Fang Yuan, owner of QingPing Restaurant, has entrusted me with full authority to appear in court in his place on the account of illness. The plaintiff’s characterization of this case as a food poisoning case, and that QingPing Restaurant should compensate for damages, is erroneous. This case is not a food poisoning case, but a criminal case of endangering public security by dangerous substance means. Mr. Fang Yuan is not at fault in the case, and is not liable to pay compensation!”
Cai HaoYu: “Is the defendant unable to pay for the settlement? To the extent that this proxy attorney would suggest such nonsense? The qualitative definition of this food poisoning case is supported by the Accident Identification Report issued by the Food Safety Bureau!” ~~~OBJECTION!~~~
MC: “The Accident Identification Report can only prove that the food was contaminated with toxic substances, and is insufficient to justify whether or not this case was caused by malicious, intentional poisoning. This case’s real culprit is MeiWeiKa’s sales manager, Lu HaiYang!”
~~~
Judge: “To the defendant’s proxy attorney, at the moment, Lu HaiYang is unrelated in this case. Please provide evidence to prove his involvement in the poisoning.”
MC: “I will provide sufficient evidence to the jury, I ask the court to summon Lu HaiYang.”
Judge: “Request granted, please summon Lu HaiYang to court.”
Tumblr media
Lu HaiYang: “The old man must be crazy, to hop hurdles to try and bite me!”
Cai HaoYu: “Although Lu HaiYang’s language is foul, I believe the defendant’s attorney is attempting to divert attention away from the case proceedings.”
MC: “To start, according to the accident detailed in the Accident Identification Report, the affected customers experienced food poisoning symptoms caused by the ingestion of toxic chemicals found in the pesticide. The pesticides bought by restaurant owner Fang Yuan and his employee for use in the restaurant is the brand ‘Bugger Off’, and is known to be harmless to humans.”
Cai HaoYu: “This is only Fang Yuan’s verbal claim, he could have secretly purchased other harmful substances behind your back.”
Tumblr media
~~~OBJECTION!~~~
MC: “Objection! This is not just a verbal claim! The pesticide used to contaminate the water source was obtained by Lu HaiYang, the evidence is…” ▌ [Select receipt for Insect Repellent 330]
MC: “In the restaurant, I found a receipt for an industrial-use pesticide, called Insect Repellent 330. This pesticide is harmful to humans when ingested, but is not severe enough to cause death. Symptoms include abdominal pain and diarrhea, which matches up to the symptoms described in the Accident Identification Report. The bank account used in this transaction is Lu HaiYang’s personal checking account.”
Lu HaiYang: “That’s just your speculation! The receipt would only show a small portion of the bank account number, that is not my account!”
▌ [Select fingerprint on the receipt]
MC: “Harm by using dangerous substances falls under the classification of a criminal case. As long as the evidence is handed over to the prosecutor, it is easy to find out whether or not you made the transaction. Besides that, your fingerprints are on the receipt! How do you explain that, Lu HaiYang!”
Lu HaiYang: “This… even if I bought it, that doesn’t prove that I was the one who poisoned the water! There’s a cockroach infestation at my rental home, I bought it to use to control it. I just dropped it at the restaurant when I was visiting the old man.”
MC: “When you went to see Fang Yuan, what time did you go?”
Lu HaiYang: “Obviously I went after the day of the incident. Us at MeiWeiKa were planning on offering our PR services. I went to see Fang Yuan, because I wanted to help him with his predicament. Who knew he was stingy enough to give up his restaurant’s reputation for the sake of money.”
Cai HaoYu: “I agree. Your excellency, my clients tried to reconcile with Fang Yuan in an attempt to settle the incident out of court, but the other party refused to pay for the damages, escalating the issue into a lawsuit.”
~~~OBJECTION!~~~
MC: “Attorney Cai, the client took the opportunity to blackmail my client in demanding compensation past the legal limit as dictated by the law. Of course my client will refuse to pay the settlement! Lu HaiYang, although you did indeed visit the restaurant to see Fang Yuan, it definitely wasn’t after the incident! Lu HaiYang visited the restaurant before the incident, and he had sufficient time to commit the crime. The evidence is…”
▌ [Select SD card from the restaurant security camera]
MC: “According to the restaurant security footage, on the morning of the incident at 7:28AM, you were caught on camera visiting QingPing Restaurant, and stayed until 7:43AM before you finally left. To add, the security footage can attest to: the spring water being delivered that day at 6:00AM, the restaurant being unattended from 6:00AM to 8:00AM when Fang Yuan and his runner were off procuring foodstuff, and that the waiter did not clock in until 9:00AM. You were in the restaurant alone, and the spring water was already there by the time of your visit. Can you explain why you were at the restaurant then? Why would you stay in an empty restaurant for fifteen minutes?”
Lu HaiYang: “I… I was going to promote our VIP membership to Fang Yuan, but he wasn’t there, so I waited a little. I saw that he wasn’t going to be back for a while, then I left.”
Cai HaoYu: “Your excellency, I believe Lu HaiYang’s reasoning is sound. He is only a hard-working sales associate who works hard for his company.”
~~~OBJECTION!~~~
MC: “Objection! Although his job is hard, all of his hard work was used in immoral ways! The evidence that incriminates Lu HaiYang as the culprit who tampered with the spring water is…”
▌ [Select water pump]
MC: “Lu HaiYang, you did not spend those fifteen minutes idling in the restaurant! The water pump they used to extract spring water from its container was tampered with, and large amounts of 330 residue was found in the cavity of it! To add, your fingerprints were found on the water pump! How can you explain this?”
Lu HaiYang: “I… I was… I was only thirsty, so I used the water pump to grab some drinking water…”
MC: “Then why were your fingerprints found on the inside of the water pump where the 330 was deposited!”
Lu HaiYang: “That…”
MC: “I bet you’re gonna go real quiet now! The pump’s cavity was filled with 330 powder, the Accident Identification Report classification of ‘malpractice’ is fundamentally incorrect! You did so with malicious intent!”
Lu HaiYang: “The water pump wasn’t working right, I just took it apart to take a look!”
MC: “What insolence! The pump is fully functional right now, shall I demonstrate in court for you, right now!?”
Lu HaiYang: “I, I… I don’t have the motive to do something like that! Why would I try to sabotage the restaurant?! When I first moved to Stellis City, I was only a part-time worker fresh out of high school. It was Mr. Fang Yuan who encouraged me to try and study for university entrance exams, and it was thanks to his support that I was able to go to university and try to change my future. I’ve always been thankful for everything that Mr. Fang Yuan has done for me. After I was hired at MeiWeiKa, I only wanted to help promote his restaurant, I have no reason to harm him!”
MC: “Lu HaiYang, you are shameless enough to reverse what’s black and what’s white!”
Judge: “Order in the court. Proxy lawyer, please pay attention to your words. In regards to Lu HaiYang’s claims, do you have evidence to doubt his character?”
Cai HaoYu: “Your excellency, I can see that the proxy attorney is already scrounging for spare change.”
MC: “The proof to show that Lu HaiYang had motive is…” ▌ [Select voice recording from restaurant outburst]
MC: “Last Saturday, when I was at the crime scene undergoing the investigation, Lu HaiYang, you stormed into the restaurant. You admitted that day, that due to your own work stress of not meeting targeted quotas, you had expressed your desire for Fang Yuan to sign on for MeiWeiKa’s PR services. If the restaurant didn't encounter anything serious enough to hurt its flawless reputation, such as an accidental food poisoning incident, why would it require your PR services? Your company hired writers to flood his page with poor reviews, when in reality, Fang Yuan’s restaurant was never impacted by the supposed negative online presence. The restaurant’s physical guestbook is filled with outstanding praise for the cuisine, and a handwritten note is better than a hundred of online fake reviews! So pray tell, who would benefit the most from QingPing Restaurant’s incident? Everything you admitted was recorded on tape; I bet you didn’t even think of that! In this recording, your attitude towards Fang Yuan was cold, insincere, and manipulative!”
Lu HaiYang: “Just because I can’t make a sale, you’re implying that I planted the poison, I disagree!”
Judge: “The recording indeed proves that the relationship between Fang Yuan and Lu HaiYang has soured, but it cannot directly incriminate Lu HaiYang.”
Cai HaoYu: “Proxy attorney, you’ve mentioned previously that Lu HaiYang’s fingerprints were found on the water pump, but were Lu HaiYang’s fingerprints the only ones?”
MC: “On the exterior, in addition to Lu HaiYang’s fingerprints, the other two employees and Fang Yuan’s fingerprints were also located. The existence of their prints are routine, as they will come in contact with the water pump during their job.”
~~~Opponent Objection!~~~
Cai HaoYu: “Then you cannot eliminate the other two employees as suspects in tampering with the water pump. They can deposit the pesticide powder into the pump’s cavity, with the use of other tools, then they will not leave fingerprints inside the pump. If this is the case, then the restaurant will face heavier repercussions. Proxy attorney, I see that you’re just shooting yourself in the foot.”
Judge: “It seems that although suspicions toward Lu HaiYang is warranted, there is still a lack of conclusive evidence to prove that he is indeed guilty.”
MC: (Should I use the security footage from the kitchen?) (I looked toward the gallery where Zuo Ran and Xue XinRan sat. Zuo Ran watched me with a calm state. In practice, the moment a lawyer steps into court, we shouldn’t be swayed by our emotions. But I couldn't ignore how red Xue XinRan’s eyes were. Behind the physical evidence of the security footage lies the story of an old man’s internal struggles.)
MC: (In Mr. Fang’s heart, even if Lu HaiYang has done many unexcusable things, he still sees it as if he were to incriminate his own son, considering how similar Lu HaiYang looks like Mr. Fang’s outstanding late son. If Lu HaiYang ends up convicted, Mr. Fang will be heartbroken… so I should…)
▌ [Select to show the kitchen security footage]
MC: “I… have another piece of evidence to show to the court. Lu HaiYang, when you used to work for Fang Yuan, you voiced your concerns about employees slacking off, and you helped Fang Yuan install a concealed camera in the kitchen. Do you have any recollection of this?”
Lu HaiYang: “Y-you… No way…”
MC: “When you were younger, you strived to give it your all in order to be accepted into university. When you were younger, you still held respect for Fang Yuan, and you were always looking out for his best interests. So remember this, your guilty verdict today in court isn’t because of Mr. Fang, isn’t because of me, but it is because of the kind and upright Lu HaiYang years ago!”
(I handed the judge the recording. Lu HaiYang could be clearly seen in the act, pouring in the pesticide and contaminating the spring water. There was no more room for him to try and bluff his way out of it.)
Tumblr media
(Fang Yuan stood up from the gallery. When he arrived at the courtroom unbeknownst to me, he looked over the proceedings and sighed.)
Judge: “Lu HaiYang, what do you have to add in order to explain yourself?”
Lu HaiYang: “I’m… I’m not… Your excellency, I did not act out of my own volition, I was forced to do it! The company forced me to do it. All the seniors that came before me, they resorted to these tactics too! You can’t just convict me. If you must, you gotta convict them all!”
Judge: “Lu HaiYang, may the court believe that this is your admission to the crime of poisoning?”
Lu HaiYang: “!!!”
Judge: “The court decrees! The plaintiff Zhang Qiang and the six other customers suing defendant QingPing Restaurant on the account of food poisoning caused by misoperation, after the court proceedings, I declare the nature of the case has changed significantly. The court hereby pronounces the plaintiff’s request for compensation as rejected. The amount, and whether or not the defendant will be required to pay settlement for the damages ensued, will be retried after the relevant criminal trial has ended. Bailiffs, please take Lu HaiYang into custody and to be transferred to the proper law enforcement segment.”
Lu HaiYang: “Fang Yuan! You can’t do this, how could you harm me like this!”
(Lu HaiYang attempted to shake off the two officers in order to rush toward Fang Yuan in the gallery, but he was restrained by the bailiffs. Xue XinRan and Zuo Ran stood on Fang Yuan’s side, preventing Lu HaiYang from harming him. After seeing Lu HaiYang in this state, Fang Yuan started to cry.)
Fang Yuan: “You’re… past the point of saving! It’s my fault, I should have locked you up at home and forbade you from going to work. Then, perhaps we wouldn’t be here today…”
(Fang Yuan shook Xue XinRan’s hand off of his shoulder, turned, and left.)
Cai HaoYu: “Wh-what… I lost to some junior associate from Themis?! I don’t believe it. As if it wasn’t bad enough losing to Zuo Ran!”
Judge: “This court is adjourned. All rise!”
