sorry for such a late response anon..i’m not even sure if you check my blog these days but here's some mangas that remind me of GojoHime arranged in the order of most to least similar:

♡ Namaikizakari

• Similarity: its quite like GojoHime in that the female lead is older than the male lead. They are senpai-kouhai just like Gojo and Utahime.

• This is a Sports Shoujo Manga. There's gonna be a lot about basketball as the male lead is a basketball player at his school and the female lead works as a manager for the team.

• Boy likes the girl and decides to pursue her.

♡ The Apothecary Diaries

• Similarity: LITERALLY GOJOHIME IN A HISTORICAL SETTING. the amount of times I've heard people call them gjhm coded. Plus all the crossover fanarts I've seen as well as the fact that Gojo’s ENG VA also voices Jinshi.

• This is a historical, seinen drama. It will revolve around the concubines of the emperor and the royal court politics and conspiracies a lot. Female lead is an apothecary and the male lead’s position in the royal court is somewhat ambiguous but he definitely holds a high position. (DO WATCH THE ANIME)

• Boy develops an interest and later on, a crush on the girl. She dgaf about him. She's very much like Utahime in that 😆. The girl realises her own like for him slightly later. “Hissing Black Cat GF + Happy Golden Retriever BF”

♡ Kaichou wa Maid-sama

• Similarity: very similar because the male lead seems to be good at (and better) at everything, and is quite insufferable. Female lead does not bother with his shit 😆 “the one who easily gets Annoyed + the one who loves to Annoy” dynamic.

• This is a famous classic Shoujo and it’d be surprising if you don't know it already. High School Romance with a lot of comedy, and the occasional heavy moments. The development of the female lead and male lead, and the conclusion is one of my favs.

• Boy develops an interest in the Girl and slowly falls for her. Girl too, slowly begins to see the better sides of him and begins falling for him.

♡ The Script

• Similarity: the hair color? lol the hair colors are similar but aside from that the male lead and the female lead have similar dynamics as the above mentioned.

• Fantasy Romance Manhwa. It also has a light novel (right cover pic) which imo is better. The male lead shape-shifts into a white tiger. The female lead is a shaman and an exorcist. She helps undo curses on people. Love the plot!

• Boy fell first when they met during their childhood. The girl has forgotten him but soon remembers and her feelings reignite as well.

♡ Dreaming Freedom

• Similarity: just like the rest above. Sly Guy and Naive Girl who slowly becomes equally sly 🤭

• ⚠️ TRIGGER WARNING: Yandere Male Lead, Toxic Relationship, Self Harm, Physical & Emotional Harm to others. This is a psychological, sorta surreal manhwa. It's about lucid dreaming and it's long term effects with a magical twist added so please do look that up if you don't know already.

• Boy fell first is obsessed with the Girl. Boy is possessive and jealous. The Girl becomes equally jealous and possessive of him so if you're into that you'll enjoy.

I said that lots of series are getting Nendos years after their popularity, like Dragon Maid. But freaking Classmates and Mononoke??????? Dude. Nothing off the table, just for being not the zeitgeist for a few years.

And is that a Kaichou wa Maid-sama character? A series from 2005-2013!

And these sports characters look like from manga from YEARS ago! …"Mr. Fullswing" from 2001-2006…OK, I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANYMORE ABOUT HOW FE3H CAN'T GET NENDOROIDS NOW BECAUSE IT'S BEEN YEARS SINCE IT WAS SO POPULAR.

Ok. Another disappointing figure event. I'm just not into as much anime as I used to be, for me to even recognize most of these characters, let alone to be attached to them enough to want to buy their Nendoroids.

I feel like until I get FE3H Claude and Dimitri Nendoroids, I just can't get excited about any new figures. Because any new figures just feel like money I could be saving for FE3H Nendoroids…if they eventually come. But I've spent so many years collecting, where I thought a series I liked wouldn't get Nendoroids, so I splurged on other merch, and then Nendoroids for that series would get announced. It just KEPT HAPPENING. So I don't know why FE3H is not following suit. Intelligent Systems even said they'd be participating in WonHobby37! FE3H has a lot of great designs! They'd make wonderful figures! On par with all these Vtubers and Fate characters I don't know. But I guess that's the thing: all these characters are likely very popular, and I'm just out of the loop. -_- I'm sure there are lots of people who have been happy with many of these announcements. Just like the past several WonHobbys that didn't have FE3H Nendos. But I feel like, all this time I've been holding out for FE3H Nendos, anything that isn't Claude and Dimitri, I just can't get excited over, enough to spend money on. My OTP has raised a high bar. If this keeps happening, I'll just stop being excited about Nendoroid collecting and figure collecting IN GENERAL. I can see that happening to me eventually. I'm kind of scared, because I feel bad for all the past hobbies/collecting I've dropped off from: manga, anime, comic books, dragons, etc. These things used to be MY WHOLE WORLD. I feel bad looking back and seeing how they've fallen to the wayside. ;;

I guess I can be excited for Nendoroid 808 from Hifi Rush and Nendoroid Ginko from Mushishi. Then I can finally do Mushishi and Natsume Yuujinchou Nendoroid photoshoot crossovers. It should be great.

…Still really deflated thAt FE3H didn't get Nendoroids AGAIN. I thought I kept my hopes down, but then as the houses for the gallery opening crept up, I suddenly had all the hope again. Maybe the only way to stop is to just stop being obsessed with FE3H. Netflix's version of Nimona has been helping me out with that lately. Maybe I should put some effort into it and fully get into Ambrosius/Ballister, forget about FE3H, then I can stop being enormously disappointed at every WonHobby, like the past few years. (Then when I've forgotten about FE3H, maybe then it'll finally get Nendoroids announced.)

Man, I used to be into PERSONA 5. That used to be my whole world! AkiRyu was my OTP! Persona 5 is still so freaking popular, that these WonHobby announcements never disappointed me! Because there would always be SOMETHING Persona 5 announced. Again, more of this "Qset" figure line I've never heard of. But for 13 Sentinels this time. I guess since they're not sitting in chairs, they're "Qset" instead of "Qset+"? Also, it's also listed as "Good Smiel Arts Shanghai" too…Is this a figure line that's only produced by GSC Shanghai? Are they chibi static figures or something? What are they?

Anyway, I still didn't see any Fire Emblem, to at least keep my hope alive for more FE3H figures, hopefully Nendoroids, in the figure. So I'm still disappointed. But Intelligent Systems said they were participating in WonHobby37. Did they just display all those Fire Emblem static scales that were previously announced a couple months ago? I guess so, because there's no "Fire Emblem" listed on the online gallery AT ALL. They probably just have physical displays of their previously announced figures at Good Smile's physical WonHobby gallery in Japan. Nothing new to announce, so nothing on the online gallery. ;_;

At least Joker is still looking cool.

Maybe I just need to get back into buying figures, so I don't lose a love for this hobby. Just throw money away on characters I'm not even that obsessed with. Because barely anything will rival Dimiclaude at this point; I shouldn't adhere to just that bar. I shouldn't have passed up those figures I wanted from last month's Memorial Day sale. Those were BIG discounts. I could have gotten that Horimiya Nendo's hair, for only $30, painted it yellow, made it into a custom Nendo Dimitri. I should have gotten Nendo Donatello. And those plushies for Code Geass and Guilty Gear. Well, I guess the Guilty Gear preorders are still open.

But still, when it comes to new announcements, I can't help feeling that so many WonHobbys in a row, where I wasn't too interested in anything…makes me feel like I'm getting out of figure collecting.

Well, that's that. Disappointed. Big time. AGAIN. I set myself up for disappointment, and I get disappointment. x_x;;;;;

At least some people on Twitter agreed with my comments wishing for FE3H Nendos. ;u;

Hey guys, Nanami here! I still cannot believe that so many of you out there share the same passion for male yanderes as me :D. Thanks guys for supporting me here and on my blog ^^. As a thank you present, I complied a list of my favorite titles here and there. None of these titles feature yanderes sadly. unTouchable - Deals with the romance between an unconventional female vampire and a guy with OCD and a backstory. Super cute story. The girl in here basically helps cure the guy in this webtoon.

***Boku to Senpai no Tekken Kousai - About a heiress who has bad eyes for men. Literally. The female lead in here is attracted to murderers and those with evil intentions. The male lead in here is her bodyguard and also a detective who with the help of the female lead, solves the serial killer mysteries. If you like male yanderes you might like this read because it involves serial killers and psychopaths and others of the sort.

Hitorimi Haduki-san to - Super cute manga. Deals with the relationship between a younger boy and older girl.

Oh! Holy - Hilarious. Definitely a romantic comedy that is different from others. You have to read this to understand it’s charm. Words can’t explain this one.

Sugar Family - Incest (non blood related). Very cute manga. Deals with the relationship between a big “brother” and his younger “sister”. Male is overly affectionate and has a big sister complex.

Winter Woods - Childish male lead who learns how to feel emotions with the help of his caretaker. 

Sayonara Sakura - Deals with sibling love and unrequited feelings. Not incest but if you like that you’d still enjoy this I think.

Hooky - Deals with the relationship of two witch siblings and the relationships around them. Not incest.

***Goth - If you like male yanderes you might like this. Deals with two students who develop a unique relationship based on their shared interest for the art in murder. Male lead in here has weird thoughts about the girl. He basically thinks she’s beautiful (her hands mostly) and would love to see how she’ll die. He is not yandere though. I thought about this really hard. There is also a jdrama adaption to this that is worth checking out.

Friday: Forbidden Tales - Horror and psychological webtoon for those who like that stuff like me.

Toshishita no Otokonoko - Cute story about the relationship between a younger guy and older girl. Typical shoujo manga but at the same time it is different then the rest. 

Shriek - Horror webtoon with amazing graphics and composition that literally has the things jumping out at you.

Horimiya - Very cute and lighthearted series. Deals with the relationship between two students. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover.

Chiller - Another horror webtoon.

***Trick or Kiss - If you haven’t read this one you should definitely read it. The guy in here is borderline yandere. He is extremely clingy and stalkerish. If you like male yanderes you will most likely enjoy this read.

Unknown Caller - A short horror mini series webtoon made for reading on one’s mobile device because of it’s unique gadgets.

Sensei Lock On! - Deals with the relationship between a teacher and her student. Very cute and huge age gap. The story doesn’t put pressure on this situation though that is why I like it a lot.

Kurashi no Izumi - House 3: Takahashi Family - Another one that deals with sibling love. Not incest but those who like that would still enjoy this one.

Kawaii Joushi o Komarasetai - Deals with the relationship between a male worker and his female boss. The guy is pretty carefree and the girl is tsundere. Basically the seinen version of Kaichou wa Maid-sama.

Well that’s my list. Once again thank you all for your support ^^. I think all of the titles above are great. The ones with the stars next to them are the ones that I think you would like if you like male yanderes. Hopefully at least one of these titles is to your liking. I highly suggest you try them all out and see :D. I have more titles that I’ve enjoyed but this is as much as I could remember for now. ♡ I think it was ‘Kaichou wa Maid-sama’ it was my fav anime when I was a child, rewatched it too many times but there are too many Animes I rewatched so I’m actually not really sure tbh.. sorry ♡

♡I can’t think of an Anime which is pretty much good and underrated and to be honest I wasn’t so active watching Animes lately.. was sadly too busy. But I liked ‘Violet Evergarden’ and I just recommend people to watch it ♡

27: Which anime character are you most like?

♡  This is really hard to answer and I was thinking alot and I still have kinda no idea.. but I think Yuno Gasai from ‘Mirai Nikki’ she’s even my fav character for a long time. She’s in my eyes just totally likable / cute and I love this psycho side of her. Yandere ftw.~ (¯ ▽ ¯~)Her style just makes her special.I can sympathize with her for many things and I’d do the same in some situations ♡

Slice of Life Genres? Or Genres to 'tack' onto others?

I love slice of life anime. I really, really do. But recently, ever since starting this website and writing my personal thoughts on anime I've watched, I've come to notice that my preferred slice of life focuses more on realism, and tends omits other sub-genres.

Specifically for me a "real" slice of life would be an anime that contains these main things: - realistic characters - realistic situations - realistic events - realistic responses

As you can see I use the word realistic a lot, but when talking about an anime series I can't say whether something is a "real" slice of life. Because anything that follows the life of some one or some group IS a real slice of life. It was only until I read a small description of the genre pertaining to film on Wikipedia which describes it as "a naturalistic representation of real life", that it really hit me.

This type of slice of life would be more accurately named a "natural" slice of life. Where everything that happens, can and would happen in our current world we live in.

That being said, there are tons of other genres of slice of life, and since I couldn't find any official terms for the different 'styles' I decided to make the terms myself, and use them from now on. Of course you could argue that the different types of slice of life would be one with multiple genres, but I dis-agree. It's true that a drama-slice of life is vastly different from a comedy-slice of life, or a fantasy- slice of life. But what I am referring to here would be the slice of life itself, whether it is realistic, realistic but with some weird strange twist that doesn't exist in our natural world, unrealistic altogether, or is one that simply has no plot at all.

So here we go!

The Natural SoL (Slice of Life) Like I mentioned in my lengthy intro, this SoL is a naturalistic/realistic representation of real life. In which the world the SoL takes place in is our world. Meaning a world without time travel, magic, the supernatural, and so on.

This type features realistic characters, plots, situations, and responses to events. Some examples (that I would recommend) would be:

Free! Iwatobi Swim Club

Barakamon

Your Lie in April (a 'natural' drama)

K-On!

Toradora! ('natural' drama)

Working!!

Semi-Natural SoL

These are the anime that meet all the qualifications of a Natural SoL with the exception of something not common to our world or the world the anime takes place in. Such as a character who is a ghost, a human/bear hybrid, psychic abilities, ect, which are even unusual and largely unknown in their world. An anime that would be completely realistic in terms of our world if such things existed.

Such as: Flying Witch (where the main character is a witch but leads a relatively normal and very realistic life within the boundaries of her culture. The witch community is small and is unusual even in the anime)

Clannad (If you've watched it you know why)(drama)

Kumamiko (talking bear which is secret within the village)

Fruits Basket (people turning into animals again which is a secret and unusual in the anime) (also drama)

Kotoura-San (mind reading ability, which is unusual in the anime, and only one character has is)

Re:Life (becoming young again, unusual even in the anime and 98% unknown)(drama/school)

Exaggerated

This contains characters and situations that are exaggerated, or less realistic. These anime would still exist in our world, but some of the characters are unusual (such as being incredibly unlucky, or being a hyper masochist, or even a severe yandere), or some of this situations are unusual (like an incredibly difficult culinary school where only 10% of its students graduate). The exagerated natural SoL would also be one that encompass an unrealistic amount of ecchi, or an unnecessary harem (like anime based off dating sims). An anime that includes a lot of fan service would also be in this category. But the anime typically does not contain anything 'out of this world' such as a Semi-Natural or an Unrepresentative SoL.

Some examples would be: Ouran High School Host Club (there is no way any school would actually allow a host club to take place, NO WAY)

Food Wars! Shingeki no Soma (an unrealistic school, plus a character who for some reason is always wearing a bikini top EVEN THOUGH HER SPECIALTY IS COOKING MEAT, WHICH SPLATTERS AND WILL BURN HER COMPLETELY AND IS UNSAFE IN THE KITCHEN, BUT NOOOOO WE "NEEEED" THOSE BOOBS AT ALL TIMES. Put on a chef jacket, for the love of god, PLEASE)

Kaichou wa Maid Sama (working part time at a maid cafe is not what is unusual, but its the constant situations out side the maid cafe and outside school that are exagerated)

B Gata H Kei (the main characters goal is unusual, and with the exception of the outrageously rich character, it is other wise rather realistic.)

And You Thought There is Never a Girl Online (this is almost more fan service than it is slice of life...)

Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto (watch the first episode and you will understand why, it's kind of a plot-less anime too)

Plot-less SoL

There is a very big distinction, these are anime which have no over arching plot or story. anime that may have multiple un-related scenes in a single episode, or have episodes which are not made with the intention to develop or grow a character or explain a situation.

A very good example would be Lucky Star, which doesn't have a plot, but simply shows various events of a group of high school girls.

Or even Hetalia, a series which shows comedic aspects of personified countries as satire. Though I'm not sure if I would call it a slice of life...

Unrepresentative SoL So far this is the best term I could come up with, but it is referring to a SoL which takes place in a different world or universe. This is not to be confused with with a semi-natural anime which would take place in our universe if not for the unusual singular exception.

Such examples would be: Rosario Vampire (takes place in the 'demon' world)

Soul Eater Not! (takes place in a world where Death Scythes and all things related to it are the norm)

Shinsekai Yori (takes place in a world different from ours)

Of course these categories can be mixed and matched together to fit each anime. For example, while Shinsekai Yori does take place in a world different from ours, it still has realistic characters and all events which happen are realistic in relation to their universe, and things we would realistically do when put into those situations. Its a little hard to explain without revealing spoilers about this anime, but I would classify this as an Unrepresentative Natural SoL, if that is it was actually a slice of life, which it is not... its more of a drama than a Slice of Life...

Sigh, I feel like I need to make Natural its own category as an attachment genre that you 'stick' to other main genres. Actually come to think of it all of these types of SoL can also be types of other major genres... hmm. Yes, yes this is what I'll do. This post will be a list of sub-genre attachments through the example of Slice of Life anime.

Voltron AU and fic ideas

This list only seems to grow and I will keep adding on. Will update when I can with new ideas, modifications, or links to stories and I’ll change the title to when last updated. Anyways, it’s long so it’ll be under a read more.

Note: I honestly think ones based on songs would be better as an AMV but I have no clue how to do any of that like at all. No idea how to record/download the episodes, edit, sync the music or how to work any programs, I literally know nothing someone please teach me.

Anime:

-Sailor Moon (It was a short thing that I did describing the Paladins to the inner scouts, don’t plan to expand on that, may make a one-shot or something as a joke.)

-Kaichou wa Maid-sama (will be like the anime in some regards but will be changing a few components work) It’ll be Keith x Lance.

-Romeo x Juliet [The Anime] (While following similar to the plot line there will be changes due to this being for 3-character poly relationship) This will be Shiro x Keith x Lance

-Puella Magi Madoka Magica (Working on one-shots for different scenarios but not all will be tied together. Will do a Shiro x Keith based on “I’m Home”, may do other songs as well.) Relations will vary in each one-shot and some can be taken as platonic or romantic.

-AIR TV

RWBY:

-Not so much an AU but it’s sort of a crack!fic idea on if they met the RWBY characters. Alternatively, they could be fans of the web series so they come up with their oc’s and with Hunk and Pidge being all techie, they probably make mock weapons (which Lance then fiddles with and shenanigans ensue)

-Red Like Roses II (Keith based fic)

-Bad Luck Charm (Keith or Shiro, maybe a bit of both? I’m not sure yet)

-Armed and Ready (this is a Shiro fic) [Also yes, it’s a pun]

-I Burn (This fic is more in general with the group.)

-Basically, all the opening songs so far from V1-V5 [This Will Be The Day, Time to Say Goodbye, When It Falls, Let’s Just Live, Triumph] (Group centric fic.)

Vocaloid songs:

-Story of Evil Series (While part of the Evillious Chronicles, I’ll only focus on this section of the timeline which will be around 4-5 songs depending on what I want to work on) The casting is pending since I may still move some around.

-Synchronicity Trilogy (Based on Shay and Rax as siblings but will feature the paladins as well and will be fleshed out)

-Trilogy Songs: Proof of Life, Soundless Voice, Endless Wedge. (Allura and Lance as Lance grows older and passes due to age and Allura missing him.)

-Blessed Messiah and the Tower of Ai (Main character is Allura but still working on other characters that’ll be part of it. Will basically follow plot of the song but I’ll fill in to make it more fleshed out)

-Kokoro (Pidge makes a new Rover but it’s in an android form. This is many years past canon).

-Childish War (sibling fight featuring Katie and Matt)

-Melt (This song is so cute and I can imagine it being a Katie pinning after Shiro kind of thing). Shiro x Pidge

-Toeto (This song reminds me a lot of Hunk due to him starting off as shy and scared and growing stronger but never losing a core of himself)

-Revolver (Lance and Keith, Lance grew jealous of Keith due to him being above him as a pilot and being mentored by Shiro) There is no real relationship here but the jealousy could infer to it.

-Ah, It’s a Wonderful Cat’s Life (Stray cat flirts with the pampered house cat) Lance x Allura

-Beast in the Beauty (This story will focus on Allura; a AU of back before Altea was gone and they were not fighting the Galra.) This is Allura x Lotor ish but not end game.

-Prisoner of Love and Desire (Basically a Yandere Lotor Pinning after Allura) One-sided Lotor x Allura

-Someday My Cinderella Will Come (Lance loves Allura who doesn’t return his affections but he’s always there for her.)

Miscellaneous:

-Wicked (inspired by prince-lance-of-altea, still planning to turn this into a story, mixed with lyrics from the musical)

-Draw with me by Mike Inel (an animation that currently has 2 parts and a small (bridge) that is mostly there to explain the easter eggs he left in another animation he discontinued and gives an interesting reason as to why the second part is shot the way it is.) This could be done in a lot of ways. I originally thought of it as Keith x Lance but it could also work as a Shiro x Keith, Lance x Shiro; all of which can be taken as platonic or romantic. Pidge and Matt or Allura with her father since I feel this could also apply for family.

-Hold Close by IngridTan (This is an adorable comic about a flame and a waterdrop that cannot be together but still won’t leave each other. The fire vs. water reminds me of the paladins baring those elements and I wanted to make it Altean!Lance x Galra!Keith) Obviously Lance x Keith

-The Witch’s House (Based off the Horror RPG game, this’ll be me working a bit more with darker elements and while I won’t write down about all the puzzles and solving them, I will be spoiling the ending. The characters featured are still up in the air since I could imagine a couple of characters being good for this scenario but mostly am thinking Shiro or Keith.)
