Tudo que Yasmine sentia era um misto de sentimentos. Quanto mais parecia se aproximar de enfim solucionar aquele caso, mais coisas pareciam entrar no caminho. E ela, que sempre foi uma pessoa com uma paciência um tanto peculiar, passar por aquelas "provas e expiações" eram de lhe deixar a flor da pele. The first thing James notices is the way your brows are creased. "What's wrong?" He asks, face mimicking your sad one. "It's nothing," You lie. How was he so quick to see through you?

The second thing James notices are your glasses. They're held together by tape. "Is this what's wrong?" He frowns in sympathy and takes them off your face to inspect them. "James, I said nothing's wrong," You lie again.

The third thing James notices is that your makeup's smudged. "Have you been crying?" He reaches for your forehead. He attempts to smooth out the crease there with the pad of his thumb. "Why have you been crying?" He asks. "I had to deal with a lot of mean people today, James," You let your expression drop, "I feel like shit." You promptly plop down on the couch and hold your head in your hands. "I feel so shitty, James," You were crying again, "And I have tests I have to study for, and this is all a mess. I'm a mess, James."

To your horror, he leaves the room. You sat on the couch, glassesless, wondering what you did.

After a couple of worrying minutes, James returned.

"I fixed them," He hands you your glasses. 

"As for the gits," He sighs and plops down next to you, "I'm not sure what I can do about that."

"It's okay, James," You sigh, "I'm sorry."

He frowns harder, "Don't be sorry." Wiping your tears, he continues, "Don't be sorry for something that's not your fault."

You let out a weak sob, "But I'm complaining."

James's heart breaks, "You're not complaining, bug. You're just telling me what's wrong," He lifts your face to look you in the eyes, "I asked. It's okay to answer."

"Really?" And James's heart, somehow, breaks more.

"Of course you can talk to me about what's wrong. Isn't that what boyfriends are for?"

You huff, "I still gotta study for my tests."

James pouts, "Why don't you study later? Right now, we can have a cwtch."

You smile and lazily nod.
