This trombone lever hinge rod has been in my workshop parts stock since before I started working here. Possibly waaay before I started working here; this is old packaging but I'm not sure just how old.

This week I finally used it. Saved me the effort of making a new hinge rod from scratch to replace one that was hella bent and on which screwdrivers had cammed out so many times that the slot in the end was almost gone.

Rolling it across my slide iron to see just how warped it is. It is very warped.

Hinge tube on the rotor lever isn't doing too hot either. When this thing came in I thought it was just going to be a rotor string replacement. It was a bit more than that. In the end I: straightened the bent lever hinge tube, replaced the hinge screw, chamfered the holes for the rotor thread because the edges were sharp enough to visibly start chewing through the first thread from the moment I put it on, cleaned out the handslide tubes because they were scratchy with accumulated dirt, realigned the inner handslide tubes because they were out of whack, replaced the slide bumpers because they were getting gross, and replaced the water key cork.

2024. szeptember 18-án, szerdán 14 órától lezárják a Clark Ádám téri gyalogos és kerékpáros aluljárót. A lezárása idején a kerékpárral közlekedők a Vám utca és az Ybl Miklós tér között tudnak haladni. Észak felé a Lánchíd utca – Clark Ádám téri körforgalom – Fő utca – Jégverem utca – Bem rakpart, dél felé pedig a Vám utca – Fő utca – Clark Ádám tér – Lánchíd utca útvonalon.

Szeptember 19-én, csütörtökön üzemkezdettől a 2-es villamos a jelenlegihez képest is rövidebb útvonalon jár, a Jászai Mari tér felől csak a Kossuth Lajos tér M megállóig közlekedik. A Kossuth Lajos tér M és a Március 15. tér között nem jár a villamos, ezen a szakaszon pótlóbusz sem közlekedik. A 2-es villamos közlekedésének korlátozása alatt a BKK a belvárost érintő egyéb járatok, különösen a metrók, a kiskörúti 47-es és 49-es, a nagykörúti 4-es és 6-os villamos, a 72-es trolibusz, valamint a 9-es és a 15-ös autóbusz igénybevételét javasolja.

Várhatóan szeptember 20-án, pénteken üzemkezdettől lezárják az M2-es metró Batthyány téri állomását. A vonatok csak áthaladnak az állomáson, le- és felszállni nem lehet. A Batthyány téri metróállomás lezárásának idején a 39-es busz a Széll Kálmán tér és a Batthyány tér között sűrűbben és nagyobb befogadóképességű, csuklós autóbuszokkal közlekedik.

Ugyancsak szeptember 20-án, pénteken üzemkezdettől korlátozzák a 19-es és a 41-es villamos közlekedését a Széchenyi Lánchíd térségében. Péntektől a 41-es villamos a Krisztina körút felé, az 56-os villamos vonalán közlekedik, a 19-es villamos pedig két szakaszon jár: a Bécsi út felől csak a Batthyány téri, illetve a Clark Ádám téri ideiglenes végállomásig (felváltva), Kelenföld felől pedig a Clark Ádám tér megállóhelyig. A szakemberek folyamatosan figyelik a vízállást, ezért, ha szükségessé válik, a villamosok menetrendjét akár már csütörtök délután is módosíthatják.

Buda Castle Garden Bazaar

The Buda Castle Garden Bazaar may suggest a collection of shops or some kind of market of the Royal Palace, but it has never been one, only in its name. In fact, the Bazaar could be more properly called a Cultural Palace with an Ornamental Garden south of the Buda Castle, covering the slopes and offering a beautiful entrance to the royal complex from the riverbank by the Danube. The garden and its buildings were built in the late 19th century (1875 – 1883) based on the plans of one of Hungary’s leading architects Miklos Ybl. Yb also designed other top Budapest attractions like the Renaissance Revival features of the originally Classicist St Stephen’s Basilica, the Corvinus University along the river Danube (right next to the Budapest Great Market Hall), the Hungarian Opera House on Andrassy Avenue, and a dozen more palaces all over Budapest.

Between WW2 and the 1980s the Buda Castle Garden Bazaar was turned into a youth centre called the Youth Park to offer a controlled and decent entertainment venue for the youth of Hungary, who were to be raised with Communist values (but the youth decided otherwise, especially in 1968 in the year of the Prague Spring).

Until 1984 the Buda Castle Garden Bazaar functioned as an open air disco and concert venue, a hallmark of the communist era.

Today it is more like an art venue for exhibitions, concerts, dance shows, guided tours, film screenings in its cinema, as well as featuring a lovely flower garden and park suitable for proposals and weddings.

Stardust the African Wild Dog!!

At long last, I can proudly present my newest partial fursuit, Stardust! He/they, an African Wild Dog, but from space! He was heavily inspired by Steven Universe, but also was originally created by Camden on ChickenSmoothie. I made the suit myself, though the paws were made from a template bought from the amazing YBL suits.

See the pink and white on the paws? It's meant to represent dots and dashes in Morse code spelling out "CQ," meaning an outgoing call to everyone. Stardust is a friendly spacefarer always looking to make friends, so I thought it fitting! The freckles on his muzzle, too, are laid out to be constellations! (Though I forget which, it was a design choice set early on and it has been MONTHS since then lol)

This weekend, I got to debut him at Renaissance Faire and meet some other lovely furs, whose suits were all so adorable!! (If you were one of the four fine folks I met and would like to be tagged here, please let me know (: ) Also went with my friends Rae and Crow (The plague doctor shown ofc) who were absolutely the best <3

The day we went it was pouring for most of the morning, so apoligies if Stardust looks a bit soggy. Gotta say, though, I didn't feel the least bit damp with the head and my hands, so kudos to that Amazon luxury shag lol.

It’s night. It’s late. I was heading back to my dorm when suddenly a floating head appeared in front of me..

I was scared but intrigued

It immediately started “running”?? Away and I chased after it and then I lost it.

I, Hikari, was once again lost in the forest.. I think I have a curse abt getting lost in forests/woods bc even in NRC I often somehow got lost there (Silver and animal companions always managed to save me <33)

Anyways, I decided to try and look for the way out and stumbled upon this small ruin thing and there was one of those..Uhh..B*ybl*de stadiums from that one anime in the middle and a deer nearby

It just stared at me then it ran away after it heard the bushes rustle, the bushes then revealed a man with blonde hair, and I think we talked a bit then I suddenly passed out

When I awoke I was at the exit of the forest and beside me, written on the dirt was, “Be careful of the shrooms, there might not be a lucky cat to save you next time nyehehe~” and a small drawing of the Cheshire Cat

So, lessons learned are: Don’t follow random floating heads, be careful of the shrooms or you might just hallucinate about an anime you watched, and lastly, STAY AWAY FROM FORESTS!!!

Ez a film a kalandos történetű Járitz villa, amit István autó és repülőgép alkatrész kereskedő édesapja 1942-ben épített. Az épület a magyar bauhaus egyik ékköve volt, az építész a későbbi miniszter és az egész Budapest újjáépítéséért felelős posztumusz Ybl díjas Fisher József volt. A '43-ra elkészült villát nem sokáig élvezhették, a front utolérte a II. kerületi Baba utcát is. Bombatalálatot kapott és a lángoló épületből menekülniük kellett. A háború végével István édesapja azonnal az újáépítésébe kezdett. Egy évre rá a 300.000 pengőre tervezett renoválást a '46-os hiperinfláció húzta keresztbe. A végére 24,5 milliárd pengő lett. A felújított villa a 49-ben beköszöntő kommunista diktatúrának is megtetszett, azonnal államosították. Először az AVH épülete lett, majd gyermekbénulással élők otthona, végül az országos gyermekpszichiátria vette birtokba. Most megint felújítják. Negyedszer is.

Vadász György

2024. március 3-án, vasárnap délután, 91 éves korában családja körében elhunyt Vadász György, Ybl-, Kossuth- és Príma Primissima díjas építész, a Magyar Művészeti Akadémia rendes tagja, a Nemzet Művésze - adta hírül a fia, Vadász Bence építész a facebookon.

A Gellérthegyi Víztároló építése, 1977 körül. Tervezte: Vadász György.

A hannoveri expo magyar pavilonját is ő tervezte.
