So, I saw a lot of people calling ctommy and idiot and that he's missing the point so I wanna explain why he is 'acting like an idiot' and why he assumes cdream is targetting him.

People are saying that cdream was minding his own business and that cdream had said over and over again that he wasn't targetting ctommy, but why on earth would ctommy believe him? Whats the reason that ctommy would ever trust someone who he knows manipulates him and lies constantly. Ctommy has perfect reasons to fear cdream, to follow cdream and to believe cdream is targetting him.

The prison arc, where cdream wants to be immortal with ctommy, the discfinale where he especially makes it clear he needs c!tommy alive (yes it was staged but c!ommy may still believe cdreams motives in that situation.) He often struggles knowing what cdreams true motivations are in general. Its hard to tell since cdream lies so often. The chase scene where cdream tells ctommy he would revive and kill him again over and over and then later makes a weird disc for him and puts signs everywhere.

This encourages the paranoia in ctommy, if it wasn't l'manberg days, pogtopia or even exile, then it was that reunion Primeboys lore that had him concluding that cdream just wants to mess with him. You add on that cdream admits that he had cranboo explode the prison to trap Tommy. Even though cdream claims that he had other people he was focusing on, ctommy has seen through time and time again that he was cdreams main focus.

So why did he go after c!dream? when he was free?

He wasn't free and he knew he wouldn't be free, (even if c!dream never messed with c!tommy ever again) c!tommy obviously wouldn't believe that considering every single thing hes went through. He goes after c!dream because seeing cdream being villanous at las nevadas made him click back into place that c!dream should be dead. But, other than that c!tommy is clearly regressing a lot in the stream, talking about l'moonberg, making a new country, talking about his past. He is recycling back and fourth just as cdream said, because its a form of escaping, escaping the present, going back to the past because in his eyes, l'manberg was his home and it was peaceful. The past to him was fun and entertaining, it was nothing like how he lived recently, isolated, drunk on invis potions and now, stuck with the worst situation possible. So yeah, he didn't think straight but I can't blame him. He's stuck in a horrible loop and just wants to be happy again.

[ yes? sort of! i tried to keep memorybooks canon but do you know how hard it is to get new cranboo lore. its impossible. i didn't expect to ever get this ask so there's not really an easy way to read the blog other than to just. backread. i originally made this blog for a joke and then got too attached and made my own lore Uh. "#do not read [thread]" is gonna be where most of the big stuff is, i never got around to specifically naming threads their own thing. oh god do i need to make a summary post of memorybooks lore ]

💀 - Was the introduction of the revival book a good direction for the lore?

oohh boyy this is a question. I feel very centrist about this because I think when it was first introduced yes i found it very intriguing. esp finding out its connection to dreamxd with the techno dream prison stream was really ooooohhh. Like i love dreamxd and the god and religion stuff on the dream smp a lot (the concept of it overall) so i definitely vibed with the revive book in the moment. And i though it served a really great pt to the ccrime narrative and relationship during the final disc stream and i think it served a lot to c!q's character development post doomsday (with the prison and cdream lore).

However idk how i feel much about it now. Like there was that dreamxd csapnap stream that made me ? about the book and it's been so long since we've seen the book or any development about it. So idk if at current it's doing much for the lore. Like if we go in a new direction with it, or we finally fucking see the book's writing, someone new gets the book maybe....but really i dont know if i like the revival plot over and over either. Like i want cranboo revived and some consistency and resolution about Limbo and why limbo is a thing, maybe some more insight into the book, and then kinda move forward with something new about it.

about the inaccessibility of the dream smp, especially ranboo lore - i'm going to go on a bit of a rant sorry

as someone who's an og boober (i started watching him a month or so before he joined the dream smp) his lore is SO DIFFICULT to find. even though there's a youtube account that uploads all his dsmp streams the issue is that there's SO MANY and there's no way to tell which ones are important

also, not only have i been a boober from the beginning of his presence on the smp, i've been a dedicated follower of his lore. the majority of his lore was released when my dsmp obsession was at its peak, and i was heavily involved in the ranboo lore side of the fandom.

all that having been said i would like to say: i have a LOT of knowledge about his lore and watched a good portion of it live. and i still do not understand it past the very basics. i agree with someone in the tags of the last post i reblogged who basically said that you need a cranboo enthusiast/expert if you want to get caught up on his lore, because while yes, there's a handful of fully, 100% lore streams that maybe you could find on a youtube playlist, there's sections of 10-30 minute lore within 4 hour vods that look identical to the ones around it unless you know what you're looking for.

hell, once cc!ranboo even said that he had dropped some clues about his character (motivations, past, other half, whatever other vague secrets cranboo has) in past streams. the ONLY WAY anyone new to this fandom would be able to find those would be to comb through literally hundreds, maybe even thousands of hours of vods to find one or two importance sentences that could hint at or even reveal key aspects of his character. even for people who watched it live, no one can catch EVERY STREAM. i remember when he said that because everyone in my ranboo enthusiasts circle ran to split up the work of combing through vods to try to find it, but we never got around to it because it is just SO MUCH WORK.

i can also remember a time someone mentioned a moment in one stream where cranboo seemed to teleport and i spent a couple hours combing through vods because i kind of vaguely remembered the stream where that moment happened just to see it and realize that it was most likely just a glitch in minecraft. the only reason i got closure on that was because i happened to remember the general time range where the stream happened

this, combined with the INCREDIBLY unreliable narrator that his character is due to memory loss and sometimes also intentionally hiding things from the viewers (in character btw. his character intentionally hides things from chat) AND combined with the general confusion (is it a dream? is it hallucinations?? is it real??) is what made me stop being a cranboo enthusiast (as much)

basically, if it's this difficult for someone who's followed cranboo since the beginning to understand his lore, i can only imagine how nearly impossible it would be for new viewers to get into ranboo lore

obviously, he's not the only cc to have inaccessible lore - many vods have been lost to time and other ccs can also have problems with the viewers being able to distiguish which vods are important to the storyline and which ones are filler or not even in character, but ranboo definetly has the worst problem with this and i hope it can be fixed in the future of his lore. i think cc!ranboo has acknowledged the confusion surround his lore if not the accessibility issues as well and will be working to fix it in the future

i know its toxic and awful of me but. i hate c!ranboo. not because of anything moral or lore-y, i dont keep up with any of ranboos lore (he streams so much and for so lonf nobody has time for that shit😭 plus heslike boring idk id rather watch tommyinnits monthly 2-hour entertainign streams than daily 5 horu boring ass streams). but anyway i hate him becaise i was such a clingyduo stan (still am) i love them so mcuh so much!! oh exile comes around,, they;ll get back together eventually itll be fine this is interesting! then they do, and they're jsut so Good and Interesting anf they're besties and i love them!! and then tommy goes to prison and he comes out and. guess who's besties with his old bestie now? thats right: broign ass mf ranboo. fuck him fuck him !!! and like i know tommys being a dick rn and tubbo has no obligation to care about him but YES HE DOES!! theyve been besties for so long and now he just does not seem to care about him and hes hanigng out with boring Ass mf ran boo ! like mf u can not come around and steal pepple's best friends!! especially hwen ur Boring!! ur so boring why is tubbo hanging out with u u dont deserve him!!
