I have been completely obsessed with. The fact that they are two Sunny's closest friends but them carrying the truth makes them terrifying and so they are alienated and mangled in his mind.

Stranger can only wait for Sunny to return, but even Mari, who can go wherever she wants and look quite like almost anything, can't look like herself. Yes she can replace Dream Mari but not for long, and that Mari is still not quite her. And she herself will be anything but, she will be SOMETHING or HellMari if she pushes her luck. So she becomes Something. She can also become the shadow creature of the day to chat. She can be a Stranger to show Dreamer the way. She can change up the textures to leave some clues. She can be Dream Mari to lead him further. Finally, she can be herself and show him something. Say hi for once. And then she'll have to leave again.

As for Basil, he stops feeling like himself, the longer he stays in black space. He feels afraid and angry and apathetic and that just keeps layering onto itself to no end. He has the truth. He is to keep it. He is to share it with his best friend. He also has an attack. A monster. It is definitely capable of hurting him. But it is also strong. And all-consuming. Maybe he might win with it if push comes to shove.

Evil Elsa × Omori🖤

This was actually done an entire year ago, but I’m posting it only now😅 I feel that Elsa and Sunny from OMORI are quite similar; they both went through experiences of grief, guilt and and isolation, and both learn to recover with the help of a friend who knocks on their doors. (I can imagine Kel singing Do You Want to Build a Snowman in front of Sunny’s house lol) I’ve always imagined that Evil Elsa, her initial concept before Disney decided to rewrite the story completely, was an alter ego of the Elsa we now know, just as Omori is the alter ego of Sunny. Even Elsa’s line in the Frozen Broadway musical- “If I die, will they be free?” seemed to match what happens in the final arc of OMORI’s true route.🥲❤️‍🩹

I meant to draw all 6 phases of this, since the OMORI final battle also progresses through 6 phases, but I was lazy and never got to complete the 5th and 6th phases😅 And yes, I also drew the "Hellmari" face myself but the hands were done via photo collaging with Canva😌

How to get to Something Zoo:

Be on the Sunny route at any point, having gone outside on both Three Days Left. Going outside on Two Days Left is optional. This will not work if you stayed inside on Three Days Left.

Enter Black Space like normal

After picking up the key in Backyard Area, go to the far right of the map until you can't go any further

Wait 143 seconds (2 minutes 23 seconds)

Interact with the end of the map and select yes to the prompt to jump down

Enter new map and walk upwards until you see a Thing

Interact with the It to enter the Docks

Walk to the top and then to the left and find the swingset, there is a door close to it

Enter the door and go to the next room up from where you are. Go to the room at the bottom of the stairs to the right

Go down the ladder and into the hallway

Interact with the opening at the end and open the door. Not opening the door and/or walking away will cause you to get chased by Hellmari and you will be forced out of the sequence.

If you opened the door, you will enter the Stump Room. Directly above the doorway into the room is an invisible ladder you must climb

You are now in Something Zoo

The only way to exit this sequence is to leave through the door going to Stump Room or to get caught by Hellmari after getting chased, or to choose to exit the hallway prematurely entirely. You cannot exit Stump Room or Something Zoo by stabbing yourself.

If at any point you leave the Hallway, Stump, or Zoo rooms, either by Hellmari teleporting you or leaving on your own, you cannot enter again at any point on the playthrough. The only way back is to reload a save from before you've done this sequence and do everything over again.

This isn't the only secret or sequence like this in the game but it certainly is the most obtuse imo

Honestly the Something Zoo in Omori feels like some kind of creepypasta levels of complicated shit you do in a game. Nothing absolutely unhinged but enough to be insane if you happen to discover it independently of any guides

OMORI; "What are you reading?"

STRANGER; "Reading?"

OMORI; {Points to book} "Yes, that book."

STRANGER; "Ah, you mean my notes on BLACK SPACE?"

OMORI; "Why would you be writing notes about that place? It's gone, sealed away for good this time."

STRANGER; "I see you do not understand, Allow me to clarify. While true that BLACK SPACE has been sealed, there is still a chance we may still encounter, things and beings from there."

OMORI; "HELLMARI..."

STRANGER {Nods solemnly} "Correct, I feel that my knowledge of that realm and the SOMETHINGS will be more valuable to the Dreamer's friends in text form, rather than explaining it when we eventually search for Sunny's whereabouts."

OMORI; "..."

OMORI; "Could I see them?"

STRANGER; "Of course."

{OMORI and STRANGER go over the notes inside the notepad, there are sketches of the different types of SOMETHINGS and details about BLACK SPACE and it's rooms. STRANGER suddenly closes the tome and looks at OMORI}

STRANGER; "I have to ask, why? What is your connection to ABBI? You banished her to the ABYSS for trying to reveal the Truth. Why let me try and save her?"

OMORI; "She was one of the big three, the Wisest. And before that...she was my friend...Sunny's friend...ABBI had a closer connection with him than even I did at the time. She could have helped us immensely in rescuing him. It's a shame she could not be saved."

STRANGER; "I didn't intend to let her die, I was willing to take her place."

OMORI; "She willingly gave you her power for a reason. She clearly saw value in your life over her own."

STRANGER; "Do you not agree with her decision?"

OMORI; "I put her down in that pit not because I wanted to. I never wanted nor felt anything back then. I didn't have autonomy like I do now. I had to because it was my purpose. ABBI tried to uncover the forbidden knowledge the Dreamer had tried to keep hidden and through me, had her banished for it."

STRANGER; "Like me?...like...Him? ROWA-"

{Before he could finish speaking, OMORI quickly brandishes his knife in a threatening manner, STRANGER remains unfazed by the blade at his throat and acts like it wasn't there}

OMORI; "Do not speak of that sycophant...He was banished for a far greater crime than either ABBI or you could have commited...He will stay forgotten as the punishment he deserves for his actions."

{STRANGER remains silent for a moment before nodding, gently pushing the blade away from him, it drops out of OMORI'S grip and embeds itself into the floor.}

STRANGER; "I understand...I will speak of it no more."

OMORI; "Do not take my initial kindness towards you as a test for my patience. We are allies and only that, no more no less."

{OMORI stalks away towards the exit without another word, he does not bother to collect his weapon.}

OMORI; "I'll see you and Hero for another search in the city tomorrow, good night."

STRSNGER; "Good night."

{STRANGER watches him go and looks down at his long forgotten book, the page set on a darkened silhouette of a tall bulky humanoid figure labeled as 'The Fallen Guardian'. He closes the book with a quiet sigh and puts it under the chair's cushion}

YIPPEEE i put so much effort in it, and now im putting even more in another part! ALso yess, making the blood completely soak him was a rlly fun decision and experiment :] He's so full of regret and blame and self hatred.!

sadly we hardly get to see his face or his fingers getting cut but i tried to incorporate it at least just a bit :O I really love the entire segment of the game, my playthrough art getting rlly concentrated and high quality there probably also says a lot And about the draft.. oouuhhh So i got inspired by @ehlihr 's OFF animatic so that's why the beginning of the song is skipped.

following another post I made throwing the idea out, I decided I wanted to make this a proper AU of its own. so heres a compliation of some thoughts and ideas ive had for it so far!

I tried shortening down the MASSIVE list I had initially, since I dont want to bombard anyone w info just yet. Ive never really made an AU before, so bear with me here,,,

quick note, this AU takes place around when the main game events would begin and take place, so Mari is still dead and its still Sunny’s fault (which is sort of the point here)

No, headspace doesnt really exist here. maybe as Sunnys daydreams? but it hasnt reached the point of creating a false realty just yet (lmao)

one day Sunny, Basil, Aubrey, Hero and Kel are all thrown onto the train together

(also can we please laugh about the idea that all 5 of them are just shoved into one pod all together, thanks to @pageofheartdj for that one!)

4 years have still passed and their relationship is still VERY strained

regardless, they all decide to try and brave the train and escape together- after all, there has to be a reason why they’re all there together, right?

things happen, and Basil is separated from the group (maybe in a similar event to Aubrey pushing Basil into the lake in canon?)

now their goal is to find Basil AND escape the train once and for all

the train cars take form of headspace locations, but soon spiral into the horrific madness that is blackspace

the denizens of the train in this case take form of monsters that can be found in both headspace and blackspace

more importantly, theres SOMETHING out to hurt them, and they need to find Basil before it gets to him first

SOMETHING still takes form of Mari’s something, but erratically shifts into other forms for a few seconds to mirror the other members fears too

Stranger is there as a denizen similarly to other characters you can find in headspace (and unfortunately other nightmares like Hellmari <3)

the train in this case actually targets each member of the group and traps them in different cars at some point to force them to face their fears

at some point Sunny looses it and his numbers spiral into an irrational string of symbols (indicating an impossible problem)

Sunny still looses his eye, maybe in a fight against Basil or a form of him?

there may even be moments where some of their exit gates appear, but they choose to stay to help each other and figure things out as a team

OR

no matter how many times they spill their feelings out to each other their numbers never reduce beyond 10 (or 1 if we’re feeling extra mean!)

anyway the point of all this is that the group learn that they arent here to pay for their sins or each other sins- they’re here to fix the rift thats torn them apart and come to terms with the things they’ve left for so long

yes that includes Sunny’s much larger sin, but the point remains the same- they’re here to help him by helping each other

basically its an excuse for me to explore their deeper feelings and force things to come to a happier conclusion!

this was more of a dump than a run down of an AU (may I remind you ive never done this before-) but I might turn this into a fic once ive actually watched a full  season of Infinity Train.

really likes how the game makes mari so..... physical. and real. like first you have photo realistic hellmari. but also all the voice clips from black(er)(est) space. and like. there's even a particular hellmari gif that im not gonna show here because i don't wanna jumpscare anyone, but it's basically a photo realistic mari with the noodle neck™ turning into hellmari and like. you can see her face, an almost real face, before she turns into whatever the fuck that is and i think it enforces the horror so much more than any jumpscare like. yes. she was living and breathing and laughing and you killed her. and now she's this. idk.
