my most toxic trait is that playing omori is absolutely detrimental to my mental health and yet within the short time that i've gotten this game i've got a total runtime of 28 hours which is fine and normal and i sleep soundly at night by the way

I have been completely obsessed with. The fact that they are two Sunny's closest friends but them carrying the truth makes them terrifying and so they are alienated and mangled in his mind.

Stranger can only wait for Sunny to return, but even Mari, who can go wherever she wants and look quite like almost anything, can't look like herself. Yes she can replace Dream Mari but not for long, and that Mari is still not quite her. And she herself will be anything but, she will be SOMETHING or HellMari if she pushes her luck. So she becomes Something. She can also become the shadow creature of the day to chat. She can be a Stranger to show Dreamer the way. She can change up the textures to leave some clues. She can be Dream Mari to lead him further. Finally, she can be herself and show him something. Say hi for once. And then she'll have to leave again.

As for Basil, he stops feeling like himself, the longer he stays in black space. He feels afraid and angry and apathetic and that just keeps layering onto itself to no end. He has the truth. He is to keep it. He is to share it with his best friend. He also has an attack. A monster. It is definitely capable of hurting him. But it is also strong. And all-consuming. Maybe he might win with it if push comes to shove.

Kel spraying demons with his holy water gun very fantastic! imagine omori group getting chased by hellmari… scariest thing ever… omg when I first played omori and I saw hellmari I jumped in my seat and screamed, and when I replayed the third time I checked the mirror and got a full close up of hellmari and shes so scary…

HELLMARI IS SO SCARY in the beginning i thought something was scary or that thing that's smiling at sunny when he first goes back to the real world (i think its a variation of something but idk if its named that lol) but NO i saw clips of black space 2 and ....... yeah the red maze part ???? bye never touching the hikikomori route LMFAO

yes hellmari is also in agony, any hell variant is in pain

it's the same type but mari is more used to it, being able to act more rationally

kel is erratic and violent due to the pain overstimulating him to the point of madness and litterally forgetting who he is

the type of pain only changes depending on the observer*

*hero, basil, aubrey, sunny (and kel if he isnt dead)

but oddly, hell variants are pretty consistent appearence-wise between obvservers

this au kinda died but i wanted to make a design for a hellmari version of prince in the omori ahit au

grrr i hate being an anxious fuck and also a horror lover cuz ill be watching a horror lets play invested in the story and maybe even giggling at the jumpscares

but catch me not being able to look in a slighlty room without my heart pounding 1000 mph and almost going into an anxiety attack

Is it possible that mari could see through sunny's dreams? Cuz if she could she's either horrified, sad, or happy.

In my hc, she can freely enter Sunny's and other dreams! And headspace all in all.

In canon tho, we can be almost sure we see Mari's actual ghost at least trice, once in the dreamworld. At max it could be over 7 separate instances, 7 with her being in her basic form. We can be 100% sure we see Basil's grandma's ghost. We can theorise we also somehow astral project into coma heaven and meet Basil there. Bc even if some things are 100% imagined by Sunny, he is incapable of imagining others, or has no reason to.

The further the days go, the less Sunny's imagination is interfering with reality, and instead we see more memories. And also that's where ghosts start appearing as they are - I have reasons to imagine sunny wouldn't be able to perceive Mari normally on day one anyway Hellmari or Something yes but Mari - no.

Buut we don't have canon-Maris opinion on headspace aside from acknowledging that it is denial and is not doing Sunny anything good.

Mari is initially lost, then concerned, and acknowledges that in the long run, it might be a problem. It is! But since she was here the whole time, it's never had a chance to hit - she doesn't give herself too much time to think over how bad it is n despair over Sunny's complete denial of her and himself and the events, and his isolation. It's more of something she NEEDS to help him fix so she instead is focused on that.

So her brain is instead always on where she might be helping him.

She thinks headspace is delightful while it exists, and a good comforting ground. She finds white space eerie and Black Space, initially, downright terrifying, but she got accustomed to it since that's the grounds Sunny refuses to visit, so she is pretty free there instead. There's also where her partner in crime is settled! So they make do.

Overall she realizes how heavy this whole experience is for Sunny,and she is so so proud of him.

Now there's another thing! Let's say Mari does not actually see any of his dreams, but enters his dream once (which makes it questionable how she knew dream Mari so well). Let's take away the skewed feeling of normalcy! Mari would, indeed, be terrified to realize how hidden everything about Sunny is, and how many horrors are on the way to get there that definitely have been gnawing on Sunny the whole time. How deep Sunny is in his denial to the point he almost has no identity anymore.

But no ya my Mari has a handful of Boys to watch over n keep mostly sane while waiting for Sunny to become available so she can also be softly in denial to keep her own hopes up.

// Infinity Train x Omori AU time!!

following another post I made throwing the idea out, I decided I wanted to make this a proper AU of its own. so heres a compliation of some thoughts and ideas ive had for it so far!

I tried shortening down the MASSIVE list I had initially, since I dont want to bombard anyone w info just yet. Ive never really made an AU before, so bear with me here,,,

quick note, this AU takes place around when the main game events would begin and take place, so Mari is still dead and its still Sunny’s fault (which is sort of the point here)

No, headspace doesnt really exist here. maybe as Sunnys daydreams? but it hasnt reached the point of creating a false realty just yet (lmao)

one day Sunny, Basil, Aubrey, Hero and Kel are all thrown onto the train together

(also can we please laugh about the idea that all 5 of them are just shoved into one pod all together, thanks to @pageofheartdj for that one!)

4 years have still passed and their relationship is still VERY strained

regardless, they all decide to try and brave the train and escape together- after all, there has to be a reason why they’re all there together, right?

things happen, and Basil is separated from the group (maybe in a similar event to Aubrey pushing Basil into the lake in canon?)

now their goal is to find Basil AND escape the train once and for all

the train cars take form of headspace locations, but soon spiral into the horrific madness that is blackspace

the denizens of the train in this case take form of monsters that can be found in both headspace and blackspace

more importantly, theres SOMETHING out to hurt them, and they need to find Basil before it gets to him first

SOMETHING still takes form of Mari’s something, but erratically shifts into other forms for a few seconds to mirror the other members fears too

Stranger is there as a denizen similarly to other characters you can find in headspace (and unfortunately other nightmares like Hellmari <3)

the train in this case actually targets each member of the group and traps them in different cars at some point to force them to face their fears

at some point Sunny looses it and his numbers spiral into an irrational string of symbols (indicating an impossible problem)

Sunny still looses his eye, maybe in a fight against Basil or a form of him?

there may even be moments where some of their exit gates appear, but they choose to stay to help each other and figure things out as a team

OR

no matter how many times they spill their feelings out to each other their numbers never reduce beyond 10 (or 1 if we’re feeling extra mean!)

anyway the point of all this is that the group learn that they arent here to pay for their sins or each other sins- they’re here to fix the rift thats torn them apart and come to terms with the things they’ve left for so long

yes that includes Sunny’s much larger sin, but the point remains the same- they’re here to help him by helping each other

basically its an excuse for me to explore their deeper feelings and force things to come to a happier conclusion!
