Day 2 Giant: One of my biggest frustrations when I was a kid was not to be tall enough to ride the very strong rides which I so very much wanted to get on! So when I finally grew tall enough to be able to go on any ride, I felt like a giant. It started with a hampster...

I'm 27. I'm single. I work in advertising, and live in a great studio in Lincoln Park. So to top all those medicore qualities... I bought a fucking hamster. Is this what single has turned me into? Not the cat lady-- but worse-- the hamster lady? A red eyed, cute, yet stinky hamster. I officially have lost it. Why can't I listen to a sad song to drown my sorrows, or head to Wicker Park and get black out drunk? Oh wait, I already do that. So next time I am leaving Crocodile at 2am with a hipster with a sleeve tattoo and a questionable shower pattern, I will have to keep in mind I have to have the "hamster" conversation. Oh hey, I live up in Lincoln Park, I work in advertising ( yes, it's like Mad Men) and oh yeah-- once we get home you will meet my hamster.

"Welcome to 2.5-4 years of never, ever getting laid." ( I know, you were starting to single Taylor Swift as you read that sentence). That wonderful reminder was  said by my 61 year old mother--which makes the pain of that truth even more scary. So not only welcome to my dry spell...welcome to Second City Single. You must this tall to ride...
