Had the chance to speak to students from Republic Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic who concluded a 4-day residential camp called Mission X, organised by Youth Corps Singapore. I shared with them the importance of education and how they can kick-start their volunteering journey while balancing other commitments in their daily lives as students. #Singapore #StrengthsFinder #workshop for 70 PSC scholars at #YouthCorpsSG • • I went through the Strengths paradigm and how focusing on strengths could give you a competitive advantage in almost every aspect of endeavour. When a person is able to identify the very unique 'recurring patterns of thought, feeling and behaviour', you start to be aware of very specific ‘ways’ you have been approaching tasks. These patterns have helped you succeed in the past and they are the same tactics that can help you succeed in the future • • And it is a great feeling having Strength School’s very own Vivian to share how she with participants how she uses her Positivity productively. We all appreciate it tons! • • Having done countless workshops, I was surprised to come across an individual that had all his top 5 in the influencing domain. In terms of probability, to have someone like this was like striking the strengths lottery in occurance. 09/12/16 - 10/12/16 Humbled & inspired by these youth, from the latest ycs induction camp that I facilitated last fri & sat. Humbled by their hearts to serve others, willingness and openness to challenge each other's views and unafraid to lay out their views to discuss and find a way forward together. Grateful to have also facilitated the toa payoh civic trail for them and inspired by the views, ideas & solutions they came up with to bring communities together and bring about betterment to the lives of the disadvantaged in society. I think Mdm Teng is happy to have met all of you too. Inspired since day 1 when they were willing to talk about moral views, social issues, open to listening to each others perspectives and willing to share deeper views beyond what is covered. Inspired by the energetic discussion on Sat morning with over 60 youths and Madam President, the first youth dialogue since Madam was inaugurated! We listened to many outstanding youths share their diverse aspirations and dreams. Everyone held the same passion for making a difference in our community. To support them, the National Youth Council is launching a special SG Youth Cares fund to support projects that will enable our youths to promote and demonstrate care in Singapore. Eat Happy, Eat Healthy, Eat Together! Glad to join our Youth Corps volunteers for a meaningful afternoon at the Youth Corps Service Week! Together with seniors from AMKFSC COMNET and Lions Befrienders, we made 168 popiahs!
