Of course, both being school athletes they go to each other’s events or tournaments all the time and cheer each other on

The funny part is neither of them know the rules of the sport that the other plays so they have no idea what’s going on but the spirit is there

In their third year Rio will ask about Yukari’s relationship with Mitsuru and be like “wow I wish I didn’t have to marry a man and I could just live with my female roommate for the rest of my life and we’ll have cats instead of children” and Yukari’s like “you are describing being gay”

I will die on the hill that Rio’s crush on Kenji is a severe case of comp het and she should’ve been a romance option for Minako

They go shopping a lot because Rio does not know how to dress and Yukari’s gonna help her with that like girl I love you but come on

Neither of them have any trouble speaking their minds so sometimes their mouths get them in trouble *cough* Yukari getting her wallet stolen in her social link *cough*

I think Yukari would feel comfortable opening up to Rio about her struggles and how much she misses her father and Rio would be hella supportive because she knows what it’s like to feel alone

After high school they may not hang out as much but Rio always sends Yukari a good luck text before she has an audition when she’s first getting her career off the ground

Rio has a pink Argus figurine in her dorm room to remind her of one of her closest friends

They would really bond and come together after Minako becomes the seal. They meet at the funeral and get to talking and end up really hitting it off

In my personal AU where everyone lives and everything is fine Minako introduces them at some point after finishing Rio’s social link and regrets it because they’re too perfect for each other and too much for her to handle

She loves hanging out with them though because where else are you gonna find a duo like Rio and Yukari

Kasen and Renko are at the opposite sides of too gay for the dreamer girl. Renko has been hospitalised cause of how gay she is for Merry, but only external damage. internally she's ascending. meanwhile Kasen is just. burning. at Yukari. she's intensely gay for her, but has no idea how to deal with it, and she's not as bold as Renko at all. she probably has to leave the room whenever Okina and Yukari are doing shit like whole booty out as she's just turned bright red and cannot think cause of gay

does this mean we have to have a part in sage dating thats just kasen confessing to her lesbianism for yukari. preferably with you as satono/mai (or both) playing a rhythm minigame as a cheerleader to egg her on. which looks hella awkward to everyone involved but you just can’t stop the dance.

Top 5 Useless Lesbians

Okay not gonna lie; had some fun coming up with this one. Anyways;

5) Mercy, from Overwatch - Granted, her being a useless lesbian is purely fanon. But, being the Pharmercy-shipping trash that I am, it’s fanon that amuses me greatly, and I can most definitely get behind it.

4) Pretty much everyone in Yuru Yuri. Except maybe Akari. By which I mean it’d debatable whether she’s a lesbian or not, since she’s one of the few characters that doesn’t exude copious amounts of gayness. She is pretty useless tho. But I digress.

3) Weiss Schnee, from RWBY - Same deal as Mercy; just replace “Pharmercy” with “White Rose”. That said, Weiss gets bonus points, because, if you do an image search on Google for “useless lesbian”, she’s the first character to show up.  

2) Riko Saikawa, from Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid - Not only is she hella-gay for Kanna, but the scenes of those two interacting are brain-meltingly adorable. I’m probably going to hell for shipping them as much as I do, but I don’t care. Shit’s cute as fuck, and I need more.

1) Sun Jing, from Their Story - No seriously. Just read the first few chapters. Her hilariously bad attempts to ask out Qiu Tong were mind-numbingly adorable. Admittedly, she does grow somewhat less useless over time, but those early chapters were still enough to cement her into the number one spot for this.
