It's Halloween month and today, I am gonna do an anime review based on Halloween! Yay!
Tumblr media
(GIF Source: Giphy thru' Google Image Search)
Then, I realised that anime don't really look at Halloween specifically... and I also noticed that I have a lot of Vampire-related anime in my list to review, so, yeah, Vampire-themed it is then.
Tumblr media
(GIF Source: Giphy thru' Google Image Search)
And, as usual, 🚨SPOILERS🚨
1️⃣ Vampire Princess Miyu
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: IMDb thru' Google Image Search)
I honestly cannot remember 90% of the series because it was such a long time ago since I watched this. But what I can remember is that Miyu, the protagonist aka the vampire princess, was trying to live her life as one of the ordinary humans in Modern Japan.
To do so, she disguised herself as a student and attended a Japanese High School. There, she made friends and was close to one girl. While she was a High School student by day, at night, she was a vampire riding the world of evil.
It was quite an old anime and I really don't know how to rate this, but I felt that it should be given credit since I don't intend to rewatch it again. It was one of those typical Sailor Moon/Card Captor Sakura/ Tokyo Mew Mew etc. type of anime where each day (or night) the protagonist has to deal with different kinds of evil.
Rating: 7-ish ⭐/10 based on memory
2️⃣ Hellsing
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: TV Tropes thru' Google Image Search)
Okay, there were actually two types, Hellsing and Hellsing Ultimate. The difference? Technically, none. I have no idea whether there is an original, or there was a remake, but there were two.
The one that I remembered the most was Alucard having to fight against some war-loving general and that caused him to unleash powers that were way beyond his control in attempt to save Britian... or if that was how I remembered it...
Anyway, the whole series is just about Alucard working with the Hellsing Organisation to eradicate the world of rogue vampires who were just out and about, capturing humans and drinking their blood. It can be extremely gory, so definitely not for the faint hearted, and lots and lots of violence involved.
When I mean lots, it's really LOTS.
Rating: 8⭐/10
3️⃣ Dance in the Vampire Bund
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Crunchyroll thru' Google Image Search)
Forewarning, it is technically an Adult anime because there are a couple of naked scenes, but at the same time, it was not leading towards the ahem ahem, but rather the vampire protagonist does it because she needs to unleash her power or something like that...
But overall, the entire anime doesn't focus on that unlike the current ones now.
So, this anime talks about this male student who lost his memories about being a werewolf who served the vampire queen (the one up there). He actually regained it in the first episode and began his journey in protecting the vampire queen while she attends the same school as him.
The thing about this anime is that you need to pay attention because some of the motives are explained in the narration and the way this anime is produced is very different from most of the other animes I have watched so far. There are also quite a number of political motives behind.
I also have to prewarn again that towards the end of the series, you all might get pissed off because the vampire queen was being humiliated by three equally pure blooded male vampires who just see her as a tool to breed. But it is a happy ending :D
And I did say spoilers, didn't I?
Rating: 7⭐/10
4️⃣ Servamp
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Crunchyroll thru' Google Image Search)
This entire anime is kinda... frustrating from time to time. But, as I said, if I have watched it, I will give it credits in my review list.
So this anime talks about this simpleton guy (not really simpleton but he just lives a simple life) who found a black kitty (HE IS ADORABLE!) and decided to adopt it. He didn't know that the kitty was actually a vampire (and a powerful one) and unknowingly formed a contract with him.
Because of the contract, the protagonist got thrown into a world where there is another vampire trying to kill them. I know it's a little bit confusing so let me back track.
The vampires in this anime are not born or something, but rather were created by a single man. This man created another vampire whom the rest of his original creation didn't know about, and one night, the kitty vampire came to kill the man (at someone's behest). The secret vampire witnessed the killing and vowed to eradicate all of his older siblings.
So, fast forward to the current timeline, most of the vampires already are contracted to some of the humans and together, they had to defeat this secret vampire.
Although I said it can feel frustrating, it does have its hilarious moments. I would say it's not a bad anime but I would also just watched it once and that's it.
Rating: 7⭐/10

My Review : Kuromukuro (2016)
So I have just watched this criminally underrated mecha anime over the weekend and I just can’t get enough of it! I’m very surprised that such anime doesn’t get much media coverage as compared to the popular ones like Gundam and Evangelion. This is a hidden gem that deserves another season!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
WHAT IS IT ABOUT  *contain spoilers*
It follows a student of Tateyama International High School girl named, Yukina Shirahane and a young Samurai named, Kennosuke Tokisada Ouma, who was born in the Sengoku Jidai but mysteriously re-awakened in the present day.
Yukina goes to school located at a United Nations Military Research Facility where her mother, Hirame Shirahane, is the Chief Researcher and lead designer of the currently under development “GAUS (Gravity Attenuated Upright Shell)”, units that are two-seater mecha operated by a pilot and navigator.
Tumblr media
Over 450 years ago during Sengoku Jidai, an extraterrestrial force called Efi Dorg invades Earth. The Washiba Clan falls victim to them, but the clan heir, Princess Yukihime and her samurai retainer Kennosuke Tokisada Ouma piloted a stolen Efi Dorg mecha, the "Black Relic" (黒骸, Kuromukuro).
Tumblr media
Outnumbered and outmatched, the duo lost the fight which results in Kennosuke dying and Yukihime captured by a demon-like creature. What he saw traumatized him for life when he re-awakened at present and the sight of the familiar looking alien invaders triggers his hunger for vengeance.
Tumblr media
60 years ago, the “Black Relic” aka Kuromukuro was unearthed during the construction of Kurobe Dam. In the present day, the United Nations Kurobe Laboratory is researching it when Efi Dorg returns to Earth for the second time since its first appearance during Sengoku Jidai.
Tumblr media
Yukina accidentally reactivates the cockpit module of the Black Relic, releasing Kennosuke from cryostasis and awakening him. The duo inevitably find themselves piloting the mecha in their defense of the UN Facility against the alien invaders as Kennosuke is determined to kill them with extreme prejudice.
Tumblr media
Kennosuke is perplexed by Yukina’s uncanny resemblance to Yukihime, whom he fought alongside with and lost. He struggles to make sense of what is happening when he learns that he just awakened 450 years after Sengoku Jidai and blames himself for his failure in protecting the Clan Princess he served.
Tumblr media
The rest of the story is about him adjusting to life in the 21st century, with the help of Yukina, her family and friends, while at the same time, training to be a more skillful mecha pilot of the Black Relic to defend Earth from the invaders. And above all, the find his new purpose as a Samurai in this new era.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, the UN Security Council still doubt his claims of being a man out of time, fearing him to be an alien invader sent on a covert reconnaissance mission and so placed him under strict surveillance and control by wearing a wired collar which will activate an electric shock if he does anything suspicious.
Tumblr media
Along the way, he get to know several pilots from various countries such as Tom Border (USA), Liu Shenmei (China), Sophie Noël (France), Toshiyuki "Sebastian" Mozumi (Japan) who trained tirelessly to pilot the new GAUS mecha which are developed based on the original “Black Relic” mecha.
Tumblr media
I love the chemistry they share and the camaraderie they develop over the course of the series, from doubting to respecting and trusting each other in the fight against a common enemy, getting rid of their respective agendas or personal reasons to fight, with a common goal to protect humanity.
Tumblr media
Despite the overall serious tone and some dark moments, there are lighthearted and relaxing moments as well where it shows them going about their daily lives when there are no alien incursions, going to scenic places which really look like the real countryside of Japan. (Even Kurobe Dam actually exists in real life!)
Tumblr media
And like every “political” anime, there’s always the ugly side of bureaucracy with soldiers “obeying” orders. There are certain scenes which make my blood boil, seeing how they treat “suspects” like terrorists despite what they have done to protect the innocent simply because they are seen as a threat.
Tumblr media
One such scene is Muetta, a former enemy mecha pilot who realized she’s been deceived by her alien masters and betrayed by her alien comrade. She turned over to fight with the humans, to which the UN Security Council gladly accepted but later turned on her after the battle was over, fearing her true intentions.
Tumblr media
It hurts to see her finally learning to enjoy the true meaning of freedom and happiness, making friends and letting go of her tragic past, only to be controlled and treated as an experiment prisoner, and only used as a weapon to defend Earth against the invaders, despite the objections of fellow mecha pilots.
Tumblr media
Seeing how powerless the mecha pilots are including Kennosuke and Yukina who tried desperately to free Muetta, Mika used the power of the media to rally the public in a protest to free Muetta as the public demanded an explanation in treating a fellow hero and defender of Earth as a prisoner. (This sparks joy!)
Tumblr media
It reminds me of Marvel’s Civil War, as to why Captain America refuse to support the U.N. Accords as he believes they are being run by people with agendas and agendas change. This anime even show the arms race in developing mecha by countries worldwide using a possible alien invasion as a pretext.
youtube
This series is definitely worth watching! Give it a try and watch the first two episodes at least, and you’ll be curious to know more about it. It consists of two seasons with a total of 26 episodes. Judging by the ending, there will definitely be a third one, sooner or later.

Me as soon as OP kicks in.
Damn, it’s been a seriously long time since the prequel TV series. Do you know how much I’ve waited for this?
THIS MUCH.
… although that’s kind of an understatement.
I’m a huge fan of both Negima and UQ Holder manga series, so I might go into complete fangirl mode throughout this article. So, what do we talk about first? I thought about dividing this first impression review into three categories that highlights this episode’s strengths and weaknesses. But before that, episode synopsis below. Let’s start!
Highlight and read at your own risk!
Years after the Great Magic War and the existence of magic finally acknowledged on Earth, Konoe Touta and his group of friends continuously pursued Yukihime, his foster guardian, to take them to the other side of the “tower”. When the seemingly effective plan from another teacher took a completely different turn, Yukihime’s secret about Touta’s real identity was revealed.
General Impressions:
Here I am, after 80 years: The anticipation
Watching this episode felt like reading Chapter 1 of UQ Holder all over again, with quite a few alterations here and there. But the changes didn’t matter to me because I was so impressed with how good this episode turned out to be. It was solid from flashback start until the ending credits to the point I was satisfied and proud of this fandom that I’ve involved myself in. The Negima manga series holds a special place in my heart (more than K-ON, I admit) to the point that I felt complete and empty at the same time when the original manga ended five years ago. I wanted to continue on my journey with them. I wanted to know what happened after the Great Magic War. I wanted to see them again… until UQ Holder came and answered all questions Negima has left.
Being as a sequel, it’s peculiar to see that one doesn’t need to watch the entire first season because honestly, the prequel was a downer and didn’t do justice to the original manga. Also, some of the events on UQ Holder won’t make that much sense if you only watched the prequel anime. I advise everyone to read the Negima manga completely just so you won’t be confused with UQ Holder.
To be honest, I feel like talking about theories like immortality and how does it feel like for this episode but I think that topic’s gonna pop out more in the following episodes, so I’m just keeping the hype going and talk about the episode in general. But, seriously. Yukihime has so far given us a perfect answer; as expected of a vampire who has lived for more than 700 years.
Touta Konoe and Yukihime: Animation and characters
I don’t think I have the right to say this since I haven’t completely watched the anime adaptations but J.C. Staff did a major step-up with their game. J.C. Staff isn’t the best when it comes to animation (in my own opinion, because I’m a KyoAni fag) but they’re quite consistent with most adaptations under their name that their own strength, with regards to animation, is their own weakness as well. But honestly, they didn’t really need to go extraordinary with UQ Holder’s animation at this point. Just something worth noting for: I’m glad J.C. Staff didn’t shy about detailing the violence and blood in this episode. Yes for no censorship!
As for the characters, I have no qualms about them because I think they’re pretty much alive and on-point. Also, no hair color changes and exaggerated character traits!  Plus, they’re like carbon copies of the manga’s original designs. I love it! The voice acting didn’t stand out too much for me, they’re good but nothing exceptional. I realized Yukihime’s seiyuu is the same as the Evangeline from the prequel 15 years ago (yes, it was that long). Right now, I’m very much excited for Kirie’s appearance since she’s best girl and voiced by Kayano Ai, one of my all-time favorite seiyuu.
By the way, I don’t know what’s with me but the opening sequence reminded me of Working!! anime lmao the shapes aren’t even the same but the yellow is so misleading pleaseforgiveme.jpg
Tumblr media
Negi Springfield: What to look forward to
Judging from the way things are going with this first episode, It’s hard to say whether they’d do a faithful (or even close to) adaptation of the manga or decide on an original ending. I get that the first chapter being entirely used for the first episode makes sense, and then there’s this foreshadowing of about two to three chapters going on with the next episode, but with no information of how many episodes J.C. Staff’s planning to make, you can never tell. Nevertheless, the website is showing a teaser photo of UQ Holder facing against… Ala Alba? If that’s the case, I am so much looking forward to it!
Verdict: 10 Chamo “thumbs-up”s
– It was a solid episode with little to no loopholes. – Great to see Negi, Eva, and the 3-A students again. – Opening theme OMG SO NOSTALGIC AAAAAAAA – BRING IT ON, EPISODE TWO! BECAUSE I’M READY!
Next episode:  You can’t hate someone you met naked.「裸で出会えば友達(ダチ)になる。」
Here’s a (random) slideshow of this episode’s screenshots!

Today, we are going to be looking at anime with Mafia-themes. This also includes the Japanese version, Yakuza, since most of the anime are happening in Japan.
Let's get on to it! Also, 🚨SPOILERS🚨.
1️⃣ Nisekoi
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: IMDb thru' Google Image Search)
This is one anime I have watched a long time ago and it was also an anime that is not exactly high on my list. It talks about Raku and Chitoge, both the children of a Yakuza and Mafia family respectively, being engaged to each other for the sake of peaceful living in the same town.
Despite them disliking each other, Raku and Chitoge tends to lean to each other for emotional support as they were the only ones who knew and understood perfectly well how difficult it was to bond with the class without them having to fear they were from a Yakuza or Mafia family.
I honestly don't like this anime, but at the same time it's not that I hate this anime. I guess because the series itself was very long and it was beginning to become a big bore. It was getting very typical and cliche. Raku, just by being himself, started to have many girls fawning over him as the series goes on.
However, I guess the big question is who was the girl that Raku promised to when they were both children? It was a major cliff-hanger and there was no conclusion to it in the anime. Naturally, I didn't want to sit through another season, if there were any, and so I googled the answer. Of course I am not going to say it here even though I did say "Spoilers".
Anyway, despite me not being a big fan of this series, it was actually very popular back then. So, I guess it is worth a watch? I do remember Chitoge being a big baby when she lost the hair scarf her mother bought for her.
Rating: 6⭐/10
2️⃣ Arcana Famiglia
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Parallax Play thru' Google Image Search)
Anybody who watched Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler) and have watched this anime would definitely ask the same question: "Ciel, what the heck are you doing in this anime?" 😂
Anyway, this is an adaptation from the otome game of the same title. The protagonist, Felicita, is the daughter and heiress to the renowned Cartel. The group of men, and boys, are members of the Cartel and they go around helping the family business, such as the Casino, and even help maintain peace in the town.
So the entire anime is about Felicita being offered up as a bride to the Cartel by her father, which understandably angered her. She decided to go great lengths into proving that she does not need a husband to take over the family. Throughout the anime, you will get to see Felicita observing the every day lives of the Cartel members and also joining them in their jobs. There, she grew to understand them better and also garnered support for her cause.
One thing that awed me in this anime, which can be weird to say, is the way the animators animate Felicita's hair in terms of movement. That is the most realistic hair movement I have seen in any anime setting. It was as though the animators working on this anime remembered that gravity exists for hair as well.
Okay, I know, it's weird... But putting Felicita's hair aside, it is actually quite a nice anime to watch. It does not have the romance genre in it despite it being adapted from its game counterpart, and it gives off a sense of family warmth. Another thing about this anime is that half of its episodes have a post-credit scene and those are hilarious.
Rating: 8⭐/10 (No, it's not because of the hair, I swear)
3️⃣ The Yakuza's Guide to Babysitting
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Anime Feminist thru' Google Image Search)
A fairly recent anime where it shows a Yakuza henchman taking care of his boss's young daughter. It is a very cute anime where the Yakuza struggles to care for the young mistress' daily needs.
There isn't really much to talk about in this anime because it is just as it is. A yakuza babysitting his boss's daughter.
All I can say is that it is a highly recommended anime to watch, and it will make you smile from ear to ear as you watch it.
Rating: 9⭐/10
4️⃣ Katekyou Hitman Reborn
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: DualShockers thru' Google Image Search)
This is one anime I have watched way before Nisekoi. I can't remember all of their names, but I do remember that the orange, light blue, and dark purple guys in the picture above were schoolmates.
Anyway, based on memory, the orange guy, also the main protagonist, was the heir to some mafia family. Just happened that his family migrated to Japan and their heritage was lost in transaction. The pipsqueak guy flew all the way to Japan to prep and teach the orange all he needs to know to take over the mafia family business.
This was also a very long series. I think apart from Bleach, this was another long series I actually finished. I can't remember most of the series but it was filled with lots of actions and fighting. I do remember that there was an arc where the band of misfits above got sucked into a time travelling issue. They ended up in an alternative universe where the mafia family were still trying to fight against the organisation that caused the "destruction" to the world of something. I also remembered some bloke in the anime saying that the timeline we were watching was the only one where they stood a chance of winning.
Anyway, it was quite an enjoyable anime but I wouldn't want to put myself through the long series again. Good watch overall.
Rating: 8⭐/10

Today's anime cluster review is a bit different than the norm. First, let's introduce the theme for the cluster: fallen from grace.
Okay, I know some of you may be thinking that it's a hero to villain type of anime that I will be reviewing but no. It's more of the character in the anime who may once had been a powerful person, a famous person, a strong force to be reckoned with, and many more, and their current situation in the anime was that they were no longer who they used to be. It is not necessarily that they lost all of their fame and power or the like, it could be that they no longer associate with anything of such nature for the sake of peaceful living... or possibly a hidden agenda...
Also, given the nature of this cluster's theme, it is inevitable that I may need to spell out the entire story of the character, or the plot, in order to justify the reason why the anime is categorised in this theme. But for those of you who are possibly interested in the anime listed below but don't wish to see any spoilers and yet you still want to know what my views are on those anime, I will put a TLDR at the end of each anime review in this list.
Now that that's done with, let's get on to it! Also, 🚨MAJOR SPOILERS🚨 will be expected in today's anime review list.
1️⃣ Rokudenashi Majutsu Koushi to Akashic Records
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Draggle's Anime Blog thru' Google Image Search)
The main protagonist, Glenn Radars (on the left), is one such character having "fallen from grace". Prior to the current events in the anime, Glenn was part of a special military unit, which comprises of an elite group of mages, that was under the royal family's order.
While Glenn may not necessarily be the strongest in the unit, he is still a feared ex-member of the military unit. Throughout the anime, he has shown and demonstrated his feats of fighting against the enemies.
It can be considered as a comedic anime but it does have its serious side. It is a very fun anime to watch, in my opinion, and it also gives you a satisfying feeling when Glenn one ups the people who doubted his abilities. Good anime to watch.
Rating: 8.5⭐/10
TLDR: Gives you the satisfied feeling whenever main protagonist one up against people who doubted his abilities.
2️⃣ Jikan no Shihaisha
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: IMDb thru' Google Image Search)
I'd be very honest with you, I have no freaking idea what is going on in this anime.
Let me introduce you to the main protagonist, Ace, the guy in red. He is actually a lot older than he looks and he was considered the best agent of some sort in this organisation. But something happened and Ace lost his memory, and his body started going back in time. So, yes, that young man in red you see up there is the main protagonist technically under a curse of some sort... and the organisation is out to kill him for reasons unknown to mankind.
Allow me to spoil even further since we are looking at the picture. And I also highly doubt anyone wants to watch this anime... for reals...
That guy in the far right? That's Ace's son. That girl on the left? That's some goddess of time and also Ace's wife, and yes, she gave birth to that son at the back.
Alright, technically, what I remember is that both Ace and his son were trying to find a way to undo the so call "curse" that Ace is suffering from so that he would go back to the original age he was supposed to be. The downside of this "curse" is that Ace does not remember much about everything, but my guess is because his son was constantly with him, Ace remembers that he has a son.
Another thing in this anime is that there are time eating monsters. So while Ace and his son (the reason i keep calling him "son" is because I forgot his name but too lazy to google for it) searched for a way to rid Ace of his "curse", they had to battle against this time eating monsters.
So yeap, as I said before, this anime is super confusing and I have no idea what the heck is going on. I would not recommend this anime at all, but if you guys are brave enough to watch it, I shall pray for the sanity of your brains.
Rating: 2⭐/10
TLDR: Have no idea what is going on, only know main protagonist needs to rid himself of some "curse" he is being placed under while battling against some time eating monsters.
3️⃣ Kuusen Madoushi Kouhosei no Kyoukan
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Gameindustry.com thru' Google Image Search)
I have watched this countlessly times and the one thing that still confuses me was why Kanata, the male protagonist, was labelled a traitor...
I'm jumping ahead so let me backtrack a bit.
Kanata, the sole guy you see in the picture, was once part of an elite team and he was known to be the strongest in the team. They were facing some monsters that were attacking the academy and Kanata decided to face the monsters alone when one of his teammates fell (I can't remember who it was). Afterwards, the anime cut to the current events and Kanata was labelled as a traitor and was no longer part of the ace team.
I mean like... I still don't get why he is being called a traitor... like what the heck did he do?
Anyway, the story focused on Kanata, who after having labelled as a traitor, was assigned to be an instructor to a team of failures.... I apologise for the harshness but I don't know any other better terms to describe them.
It is quite an interesting anime to watch though it would have been better if they could address his label as a traitor properly. There probably would be a character you would want to throttle in the anime. For me, it was Misora.
Anyway, have a go at it and I would recommend watching this anime for some comedy relief.
Rating: 8⭐/10
TLDR: Not the best, but it's a good anime to watch. Just not entirely sure about the "traitor" label and its origins.
4️⃣ I'm Quitting Heroing
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Anime Trending thru' Google Image Search)
Wow, there is quite a lot to unpack here in this anime... Okay, let's get down to it.
Some of you may know, and some of you may not know. This anime was popular recently and received good reviews. I thought it was worth a watch and it actually is quite relaxing.
As I said earlier, there's a lot to unpack and there will be major spoilers. THIS IS ONE ANIME THAT IS SUCH. So, if you don't wish to see the spoilers, then I recommend you to quickly scroll all the way down to the bottom of this post and read the TLDR version instead.
For those of you who decided to continue reading, you have been warned.
Okay, so first off, the main protagonist is Leo Demonheart, the guy lying on the couch in the picture up there, is the hero of the world. When you think of the word hero, the character would probably be some human blessed with a multitude of blessings and could become a saint after he retires as a hero, right? Well, not for Leo.
Leo was actually a humanoid species created by the humans of modern day Tokyo to help curb the invasion of the demons then. He was one of the 12 humanoids created to help with this unrewarding endeavour for eternity. As time passed, modern day technology crumbled and the current events of the anime is what happens after the invasion of the demons in modern day Tokyo.
If you are still confuse by what I am trying to say, basically, it seems like time reversed on earth. Instead of a government that we are used to in real life, the people reverted to the time when kings ruled and nobility exists. So, it was during this period that Leo was recognised as a hero and he went to defeat the demon ruler. It was a successful battle for him since he is ridiculously strong, but the humans and the king Leo served were terrified of his power, and well... Leo then went to find the demon queen he defeated earlier to serve under her instead.
This is actually a very good anime. The only pet peeve I have about this series is the timeline jumping. Now, I understand that it was Leo's memories. But before he explained it properly in the series, it was super confusing when the scenes shifted between the two timelines. It gave the question of whether I was watching a parallel universe or something.
But overall, it is a good anime and highly recommended to watch.
Rating: 8.5 ⭐/10
TLDR: A highly recommended anime to watch but timeline jumping scenes in the series can be confusing.

This time, I am looking at a list of anime that has a masterful character in the show. This means that the character is skillful in anything he/she does, be it cooking, cleaning, performing etc.
Also, 🚨SPOILERS🚨 for those who has yet to watch some of the anime below.
1️⃣ Kuroshitsuji
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: The Nerdy Shrink thru' Google Image Search)
This anime is also known as Black Butler for those of you who prefer the English-dubbed version. I bet some of you guys were thinking about this anime when I relayed the theme in the intro. To be honest, this anime came to my mind too (hahahaha).
Ahem. Anyway, this anime talks about a young boy called Ciel Phantomhive who was almost used as a sacrifice by a secret cult to summon a demon. The demon thought that Ciel was more worthy to be his master and decided to serve him instead under the guise of his butler. The contract that they made was for the demon to obey Ciel's every order and protect him with all his might until the day Ciel manage to exact his revenge on those who tried to sacrifice him.
This is a shoujo anime, and many many many girls fawn and swoon over the demon butler, Sebastian. Mind you, a new season is going to come out in 2024 so this anime will be all over your anime feed once more.
This anime is quite good. It currently has two seasons, with the second season introducing anime-only characters, another additional season focusing on the Book of Circus, and finally, a movie where they boarded a ship which was infested with zombies (no... it's in the manga... it's an arc).
You will also get to witness the might of the butler, Sebastian, as he takes care of the house chores around the Phantomhive Manor with precision and grace. The rule is that you cannot say he is a masterful butler; you must say that "he is one hell of a butler".
Rating: 8.5⭐/10
2️⃣ The Masterful Cat is Depressed Again Today
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: IMDb thru' Google Image Search)
This is a more recent anime and Netflix released it some time ago and I managed to finish watching it.
First off, yes, that is a real cat. He just evolved to act more like a human to take care of his sloppy master. You could say that he learned to take care of his master and maintain the house chores to the point people believe it was done by Saku. I mean... would you believe her if she tells you that it was done by her cat?
The story revolves around Saku trying to skirt around the praises and compliments she received for her house skills because in truth, it was all done by her masterful cat, Yukichi.
Despite Yukichi being the size of a bear, as according to the description in the Wiki, the anime is mostly a slice-of-life genre. If you like that genre, and love cats, then this anime is one for you.
Rating: 8⭐/10
3️⃣ Spy x Family Season 2
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Yahoo thru' Google Image Search)
The latest season of Spy x Family was out on Netflix and this time, it is much better than the previous season.
In the new season, the anime focuses on the vacation time for the students. Hence, the Forger family went on a cruise. There was quite a lot of adventures to be held in the large ship and it has given Anya the adventure of a life time.
As usual, Loid Forger, the masterful spy in the show, has shown his endless feats of skills, from flawlessly disguising himself to help save the cruise to surfing the ocean waves with ease. This new season has proven to be more exciting than the previous one.
Rating: 8⭐/10
4️⃣ Sakamoto desu ga?
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Dailymotion thru' Google Image Search)
I think this anime may speak some familiarity to you guys as it was probably about a year or so ago that this anime came out.
Just like the theme for this cluster review, it talks about this young man called Sakamoto who is literally ✨perfect✨ in everything (I feel like I have to give him the sparkles). His grades, his physical fitness, and the things that he does is the peak of ✨perfection✨.
But don't get him wrong, while he may seem to be following the school rules based on his attire, he also knows how to bend the rules at times to suit the needs for himself and others. And he does it ✨flawlessly✨. This has earned him respect from both his classmates and schoolmates who once hated him with a passion.
I hope the sparkles has enough emphasize-ness on his masterfulness.
... That was quite a mouthful...
Anyway, not a really bad anime. Most of the men drawn in this anime were drawn to be moderate or ugly to emphasize on his good looks. It could be like the Komi Can't Communicate anime but the male version of it.

The reason I went for cluster anime review is because I wanted to clear my list of anime to review as quickly as I can, but I am also struggling to find some anime that can be grouped together with others based on a specific theme, and even if there is, there is not enough to make one post.
To address this issue, I have decided to do a mix. Sometimes it will be a cluster, sometimes it will be a one anime review on its own. The criteria for the anime to be able to be reviewed on its own is that there are lots of things I need to talk about and/or it does not fit into any theme I have planned for the anime review list.
So, gracing us with the first one anime review is Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation.
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: IMDb thru' Google Image Search)
Before I continue, 🚨SPOILERS🚨 as usual, and I would not recommend you to continue reading if you are uncomfortable with topics related to "intimacy".
A synopsis of this anime is basically a middle age man from modern Japan died in a car accident and was reincarnated into another world. In this new world and new life, he aspires to make the best out of it and deviate from his previous life's miseries and depression. However, a huge incident occurred, causing the town he was living in to vanish overnight. Each of the people living in the town was teleported to other places in this world. Rudeus, the main protagonist of this anime and the reincarnated middle age man, embarked on a journey to be reunited with his beloved ones.
So far, it seems like a harmless anime and even the image above shows no other signs of "what is wrong with this anime". It seems decent and could understandably be a very popular anime. right?
Tumblr media
(GIF Source: IceGIF thru' Google Image Search)
Okay, I am not saying that it is not a popular anime but it's probably popular for the wrong reasons... I guess...
First off, all of those sexual references!!!!! Oh my god!!! There were so many to the point that i was questioning whether the author himself was hentai artist previously.
Not just that, it also made me question whether that guy was sane in his mind.
Let me give you a quick brief of it.
Firstly, I get it. It was a middle age man who got reincarnated and he retained his adult-like memories which prompted people to think that Rudeus has a very matured thinking for his age.
BUT THE FACT THAT HE WAS FANTASIZING HIS OWN MOTHER'S BREAST WHEN SHE WAS BREASTFEEDING HIM! OH MY GOD! THAT'S HIS OWN MOTHER!
You get what I mean now? About whether the author was sane in his mind?
Tumblr media
(GIF Source: GIFSEC thru' Google Image Search)
Secondly, yes, I know, he is undergoing a puberty phase. And kids undergoing puberty phase starts to explore topics like sex and stuff. But Rudeus was so obsessed into sex and stuff that it was just SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE.
Don't give me the bullcrap that "oh, that's because his family lineage are well-known womanizers". NO IT'S NOT NORMAL! The fact that the men in that lineage thought it was okay to fantasize about these things at the young age is absolutely HORRIFYING!!
Tumblr media
(GIF Source: Tenor thru' Google Image Search)
And it's not just him and his family. That one young prince from another country was actually fantasizing what he could do to his own teacher while being under her charge is just...
Tumblr media
(GIF Source: Tenor thru' Google Image Search)
And I thought it was going to get better, meaning lesser of such scenes and more onto the whole point of their journey, right? No, I was wrong! I even wonder why I bothered continuing with Season 2...
Disclaimer, it was slightly better. Well, mainly because he was super depressed that he couldn't even start thinking about such things anymore...
Alright, onto my second rant point and that is his father, Paul.
Now, this man is a huge pain in the ass. I am not saying he was not a good man, but rather someone whose face you want to plant to the wall at times.
Remember that in the synopsis I said that the people in the town Rudeus was living all got teleported to other areas? Paul got separated from his two wives and one of his two daughters who were living with him at that time. For some unknown reason, he developed depression, but it also didn't seem like he was so far down the rabbit hole that he could not function as seen in the anime.
Now, don't get me wrong. I am not being heartless because he got separated. It is definitely a big ordeal and having to worry every single day whether or not his family was dead or alive. Not only that, he goes out to the streets in the new town to search and rescue the people who used to live in the same town as him. I get how far disappointed he must be whenever he saw the person's face, hoping that it was one of his kin but in the end it was not.
But what really irked me is that instead of embracing his son whom he unexpectedly bumped into, he lashed out at him and reprimanded him for "playing around" while he (Paul) was seemingly doing all the work to look for their family.
To me, it feels as though he didn't know what his son had been through, which ironically was the same thing he said to his son, and that his son had to travel through the demon continent just to get to the human continent.
And, yet, while Rudeus was simply elaborating and defending himself, people turned to glare at him as if he was in the wrong. Like, WTH, people?!
Tumblr media
(GIF Source: Giphy thru' Google Image)
There's really a lot of wrongs than goods that this anime have and I also don't know if I should recommend it. Minus all of that sexual stuff, which is like 80% of the story, it is, admittedly, a good story.
I don't think I would continue with any upcoming seasons because Rudeus finally managed to cure his inner depression at the end of the second season. That means for any upcoming seasons, those things are coming back.

No Game No Life has a very interesting storyline. It basically tells the story of a pair of siblings who are good in almost any kind of game. Black Jack, chess, trivial quizzes etc. and you will find their name right at the top of the scoreboard.
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: No Game No Life Wiki Fandom thru’ Google Image Search)
I like the use of colours in this anime, how they blend the colours and how vibrant it is as compared to the beginning of the series where it was all dark and gloomy.
The story itself also has a lot of comedic moments and there was even a small mentioned of Doraemon in one of the episodes. It was a very nice touch of cameo from an old classic anime character.
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: No Game No Life Wiki Fandom thru’ Google Image Search)
One other thing I liked about this anime is how they bothered to explain the history of the world in a separate movie. I honestly learned a lot about the No Game No Life world through that movie while waiting for my mother to emerge from her regular check-ups.
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Amazon thru’ Google Image Search)
The only complain I have is how they try to “sexualise” the female characters, especially Shiro. She is just a young girl and they are already drawing her in a way that is suggestive sometimes. I get the off-shoulder sleeve of her uniform is to show her “sloppy” side from her NEET life, but other than that, I just feel that the entire “ecchi” genre needs to calm down.
The movie was the only thing out of this entire series that I dared to watch out in the open public because there isn’t much ecchi in it.
I had to watch the shower scenes at home because who bathes with their clothes on? But then, they focus so much on the girls that I even felt very uncomfortable watching those scenes.
I’m not saying that this anime is bad because it’s ecchi; I honestly don’t mind the genre but I feel that the anime artists drawing ecchi are now getting very dangerously close to Adult rated, and I don’t mean those gory, violent kinds, but the other type of Adult rated genre. I guess if I see ecchi in the anime tags, those are definitely gonna be watched at home.

I did a vampire-themed review earlier in October in lieu of Halloween, but I was thinking, "why not another one?"
Tumblr media
(GIF Source: GIFSEC thru' Google Image Search)
But this time, it is gonna be a generic Halloween-related theme, meaning that instead of purely vampires, I am including, ghosts, horror and the like... you get the gist.
As usual, 🚨SPOILERS🚨
1️⃣ Vampire Knight
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Crunchyroll thru' Google Image Search)
This was one of the most popular anime back in those days. Every girl who watches this were fawning over Zero and Kaname... It was practically a Team Edward and Team Jacob situation again...
Anyway, this anime talks about Yuki, the main female protagonist, who is living in this school that on the surface, is an ordinary school for students to enroll. The secret that this school keeps, is that there are night classes held specifically for a special group of students. And those students are vampires.
Yuki, along with Zero, are the only students in the day-time student population privy to that information. Together with the teachers of the school, they help to keep this secret, and also prevent any harm from falling onto the day-time students.
This anime was really well written and my sister enjoyed it a lot that she even got the light novel of it. Mind you, my sister doesn't watch a lot of anime like I do, and though she does read, she doesn't read as much as I do too... Her anime knowledge comparing to mine is not even a quarter. So, for her to like this anime and get the light novel is saying something.
The ending can be disappointing, especially for Team Zero fans, but thinking about it now, it only made sense... Yep, anyway, have a go at this anime, it's really good and highly recommended :3
Rating: 9⭐/10
2️⃣ Ajin: Demi-Human
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Netflix Wiki Fandom thru' Google Image Search)
For the life of me, I have really no idea what is going on... it looks like horror, but not really horror, and it's just manifesting some weird-ass black looking thing... yeah... I really have no idea what is going on...
You could say... to some extent, that it is like Tokyo Ghoul. A city full of ghouls secretly living among the humans. And the government secretly created a team of ghouls to help manage the ghoul population. For Ajin, it is kinda in the similar vein.
The animation of it is quite unique, like watching a game being developed in play. If that is not your thing but you still want to watch this, then I would recommend the manga instead. But even the manga is confusing for me... 🥲
The show received positive ratings across multiple platforms. So I guess it's worth the watch? I personally don't really like it that much which is why I don't have much to talk about this. But, hey, don't let me stop you from trying this 😉
Rating: 6⭐/10
TLDR: Confusing, not sure what is going on... Probably it's me...
3️⃣ Death Parade
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Crunchyroll thru' Google Image Search)
This show practically talks about this afterlife world where departed souls come to get judged. However, the departed souls has no memories of their lives. In this afterlife world, the... I have no idea what they are called... Reaper? Bartender?
Reaper Bartender Judge?
Whatever... those guys will judge your souls by observing a game played between the souls. If you are the only soul there, then they will join the game to make up the numbers. So, the game will help the souls relive their memories of their lives and this allows those judging bartender reapers to see and make the decision whether the souls are good or bad. If they are good, they get to reincarnate; if they are bad, then they go to the void and cease to exist again.
It is quite an interesting concept and the anime does not fail. I have to say though, that it can get violent, but it is a natural human reaction. Some of the games can be very violent, but there are very relaxing ones too. It is a 12-episode series but it is very interesting.
Rating: 8⭐/10
4️⃣ Mieruko-chan
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Mieruko-chan Wiki Fandom thru' Google Image Search)
🚨WARNING🚨: DO NOT watch this anime while eating. SERIOUS. I MEAN IT.
The reason being... you can try Googling yourself and you will know what I mean. Some of you may be okay with it, but others may not be. I wasn't prepared and I almost puked my food out.
Anyway, this anime talks about the main protagonist, Miko, who suddenly one day can see the spirits. And the spirits are not like your Hanako from Jibaku Shounen. These spirits are gory and, as mentioned earlier, could make you puke your food out. It seriously makes Junji Ito's horror manga look more like rainbow and sunshines...
I digress. So, Miko, who could suddenly see these gory spirits, had to work extremely hard to ignore them on a daily basis. It's not easy because she sometimes have to put up with the spirits wrapping themselves around her, or even walk through them so as to not draw attention to herself and place herself in danger.
To be extremely honest, the arc which the anime covers isn't really interesting... but important for what comes next. I am following the manga closely and two things comes to mind with the current addition of a new character, what is going to happen and will Miko finally stop seeing spirits?
Anyway, have a go at it but remember, DON'T EAT YOUR FOOD WHILE WATCHING THIS.
Rating: 7⭐/10
TLDR: Gory level - no food allowed when watching this. Can be a bit boring but important for the story later... if it ever comes out a season 2...

Another cluster anime review and the theme is selected people with supernatural abilities. Okay, I know it's vague, but think of it like Bungo Stray Dogs. Let's get down to it! Also, as usual, 🚨SPOILERS🚨
1️⃣ Bungo Stray Dogs
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Sakura Sunrise thru' Google Image Search)
Since I already mentioned it in my intro, I shall just review this first.
To be honest, I really have no idea what this anime is really about 😂 It started with this white-hair boy, Atsushi, who tried to escape what he believed was a real life tiger after his life, when it turned out that the tiger was him. And because he was wanted, the detective agency offered him sanctuary by being employed under them.
Of course, it is not only the agency that has people with supernatural abilities. Other organisations like the Port Mafia had people with such abilities too, and in the entire anime is just people with abilities fighting it out with each other for god knows why.
Regardless, the anime series is thrilling to watch. If you think that the antagonists are being the bad people for absolute no reason, you are wrong. This antagonists in this anime all have back stories which helps you understand the reason why they are doing what they are doing in the present time of the anime.
Worth a watch.
Rating: 8⭐/10
2️⃣ Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: IMDB thru' Google Image Search)
To be honest, I wasn't seeing the appeal of this anime. But what kept me going was Gojo... Yeah... no surprises there, I guess... 🫣
Anyway, this anime talks about this boy who initially had nothing to do with the spirit world but because he decided to go ahead and swallow one of the fingers of the strongest evil spirit, he got sucked into some deadly conspiracies where people are just trying to end his life for simply swallowing the finger. I mean I get that he was confused and had no idea what was going on but dude... seriously?
People are actually praising this anime a lot and, as I mentioned before, I don't see the appeal... yet... except for Gojo. But this is my review, so...
I mean, if you like this kind of stuff, I won't stop you from watching it, just probably not really my cup of tea tea? It's fun to watch some times but I'd rather watch something else...
Rating: 6⭐/10
3️⃣ Charlotte
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Wallpaper Abyss - Alpha Coders thru' Google Image Search)
It has been quite some time since I last watch Charlotte. But the anime has a good storyline.
This story involves time travelling. The current timeline we see in the anime is one that is the best of the best. Yuu Otosaka was transferred to a school for students who has this special abilities like him. Of course, each of them has a different type of ability. For Yuu, it's possession, while for Nao Tomori, it's invisibility. You get the idea.
While these special abilities are temporary, those who has it are technically in danger, and the reason why this school's student council is in-charge of heading out to look for those with such ability and warn them of the dangers.
Things gets a little bit more complicated when time travelling is introduced but don't worry, it is very easy to follow through. I would recommend this anime for those who are fans of Code Geass since it was produced by the same team.
Rating: 8⭐/10
4️⃣ Hamatora
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Crunchyroll thru' Google Image Search)
Hamatora is one of the not so well-known animes out there but I would highly recommend people to watch it if they can.
There are currently two seasons of this anime. The first season sees Nice, the main protagonist, facing off with an obsessed man who wishes to best Nice. The second season revolves around Art misunderstanding something based on memory and trying to seek revenge (or something like that) while Hajime started to regain her memories.
While the entire anime series has lots of comedic laughter, the second season leans more towards the serious side as we dive deep into the backstories of the characters, especially Art, Nice, and Hajime. Quite a nice show to watch.

Time for another cluster anime review, and since I ended my exams yesterday, we will be going for the school theme review this time.
In a school theme review, it doesn’t necessarily need to be purely slice-of-life. It can be mixed with fantasy, magic etc as long as the main setting happens to be in school. Let’s go ahead and review them.
1️⃣ Card Captor Sakura
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Netflix thru’ Google Image Search)
I have read the manga, I have watched the anime. The only thing I have not touched is the Clear Card arc.
Anyway, this anime is my childhood anime, and while it has a lot of extra cards being showcased, it is one of the best, wholesome, and wish the newer animes are more like this. Less of those sexual stuff and really concentrate on the entire plot.
The only thing I disliked is the last part of the anime, where Sakura went to confess her true feelings to Syaoran and the “truth” behind Eriol. I feel it is very rushed and not properly looked into as it did with the manga version. Also, the additional character of Meiling... she was annoying at first, but I feel that she was kind of a necessity to be added in since the anime is very long.
Overall, 9 out of 10!
Rating: 9⭐/10
TLDR: Wholesome anime, but could have expanded more on the last part of the truth of Eriol and confession towards Syaoran.
2️⃣ The Disastrous Life of Saiki K
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Milkcananime thru’ Google Image Search)
This anime is about Saiki, a very powerful psychic who tries to lead a normal life and not draw attention to himself. Unfortunately, there are tons of interesting characters who are out to make his life “un-normal”.
If you go search for this anime online, there are a few variations to it and honestly, I am not sure which is which. But I have watched all of them and to be honest, it can be a pain.
It was funny at first but eventually it got really annoying. The whole time I was rooting for Saiki to achieve his normal life.
I would say that it is roughly 6 out of 10 for me.
Rating: 6 ⭐/10
TLDR: Funny at first but eventually got very annoying
3️⃣ Assassination Classroom
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: The Avocado thru’ Google Image Search)
It can be serious, but it is hilarious.
This anime talks about a particular class in this prestigious high school who got abandoned by the school due to its poor grades. Because of its ideal location albeit the safety concerns, a special military operation was held in a rundown classroom on the mountains behind the school.
If you are wondering why the heck would a bunch of students need to kill someone, technically, the teacher, Koro-sensei, was the one who requested for it. So, as we go along the joy ride of witnessing the growth of the students and how they keep failing to kill their teacher, there will be barrels of laughter, and tears, as you watch this anime.
This is really good and it follows the manga as closely as possible. There are just a few minor changes made to the anime adaptation, but otherwise, it is closely related to the manga.
Highly recommended anime to watch.
Rating: 10⭐/10
TLDR: Super funny, super fun, and a very awesome anime to watch
4️⃣ Kamigami no Asobi
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Hinode Reviews - Wordpress.com thru’ Google Image Search)
I remember the last time I wrote something about Kamigami no Asobi was to diss Baldr.
Anyway, this is quite a nice otome anime to watch. While it can be cringy (for some parts), it is very fun to journey with the gods as they learn more about humans.
You will get to learn about each god’s background story and the reason to why they are being placed into this school for gods. Also, their misunderstanding about some of the human’s culture can be quite funny.
Rating: 7 ⭐/10
TLDR: Nice anime, good fan service (for the girls), but can be quite cringy

Let's do a work-theme anime cluster review. Because I work. And because I will have no breaks for the next two weeks :D
Also, 🚨SPOILERS🚨
1️⃣ Working!!!
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: The Outerhaven thru' Google Image Search)
If you feel that the scenarios in the anime looks very familiar, trust me, you typically see this every day in your own workplace.
Anyway, the entire anime isn't about the work of the family restaurant, but rather about Mahiru Inami who has a high levels of fear of males. The reason behind it... well, don't take this wrong way, but her father just wanted her to stay away from all of the boys in the world but kinda overdid it.
Anyway, the entire series was about Inami trying to rid herself of her fear of men and she did so by trying to work in a family restaurant. There were multiple times she came this close 🤏 to punching the daylights out of the men in the restaurant.
Anyway, the anime got boring as it went on to two other seasons, the only juicy part is when romance started to blossom within other staff members.
Just to note that this review is only for the Working!!! series and not the WWW.Working anime.
Rating: 5⭐/10
2️⃣ Cells at Work!
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Crunchyroll thru' Google Image Search)
As the title suggest, it talks about your cells in your body being hard at work. Instead of the normal real life cells, the creators drew them in the form of little human beings and depict it as their normal daily working life.
Of course, we will never have that one stray red blood cell who gets lost, because if that really happen, I think we wouldn't be alive by now.
You will meet some cells that are serious and some cells that are just simply adorable. Quite a nice anime to watch.
Rating: 6⭐/10
3️⃣ Psycho-Pass
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Rotten Tomatoes thru' Google Image Search)
It has been years since I last watch this anime, and I only watched Season 1. I honestly can't remember much.
But this anime talks about the futuristic Japan, where criminal activity is measured by the police using a modified handgun. Even within the police force, if your criminal ranking is above a certain limit, you will be stripped of your police badge and placed immediately behind bars.
It's quite a broken system if you ask me, but the show does illustrate why humans should not rely too much on technology. There is a scene where there was an obvious homicide happening but because the gun ranked the person to be of low criminal rate, it would not activate, thus, causing someone to lose his life.
Anyway, this was quite a popular show back then. If memory serves, this was also quite high on my list.
Rating: 8⭐/10
4️⃣ Amagi Brilliant Park
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: IMDb thru' Google Image Search)
This anime follows the main protagonist, Seiya Kanie, who was roped in to help save the park from closing. The reason why it is important for the park to remain open is because it is the life source for all of the creatures working the park.
You will get to journey with Kanie on his mission to revive the park. You will see some hilarious moments and learn the background story of Kanie and the other cast members in the park.
Overall, quite a thrilling anime to watch.
Rating: 8⭐/10
5️⃣ Blend S
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: SoundCloud thru' Google Image Search)
This anime shows this young girl, Maika, who has trouble looking for a part-time job due to her very stern face, which makes people misunderstand that she dislikes them a lot. However, she managed to snatch waitress job at a cafe where its staff are meant to role-play their characters when working.
The other characters had to role-play since it may not necessarily be their personality, but for Maika, it's part of her daily life. The only issue Maika has is that she constantly thinks that she has done something wrong by behind unintentionally sadistic to the customers despite her colleagues consistently telling her that it was okay and it was what the customers want.
Quite a nice anime to watch though it can get a bit annoying at some parts.
Rating: 7⭐/10

Today is the day of love. And love can come in all forms, parental love, friendship love, romantic love etc. In lieu of today’s Valentine’s Day, I will be doing a cluster review of the anime that has the romance theme.
There may be some 🚨SPOILERS🚨 involved.
1️⃣ Horimiya
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Horimiya Wiki Fandom thru’ Google Image Search)
Horimiya is about this guy (right), Izumi, who got pulled out of the invisibility veil of his classroom by a popular classmate, Hori.
Well... technically, they met under the circumstance where Izumi had to escort Hori’s younger brother home. From there, a friendship blossomed and Hori and Izumi became very close to the point they were dating.
I would say that this anime is one of those very cozy anime, where you can snuggle in your blanket at the corner of your room and watch it. It often gives you the warmth and affection feelings of a family throughout the series.
But I would admit, like any slice-of-life genre, it can get a bit boring... Usually, this kind of genre is always accompanied with the humour genre, but most of the jokes in this anime wasn’t as funny as I hoped it would be. The only one that I found absolute hilarious was the confession scene Yuki received.
Other than that, it is quite a cozy romance anime you can consider putting in your next watchlist.
Rating: 8⭐/10
TLDR: Cozy romance anime to snuggle up to but may be a bit dry.
2️⃣ Kimi no Todoke
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: IMDB thru’ Google Image Search)
Another anime that is quite similar (in the synopsis) to the previous entry is Kimi ni Todoke. The story tells of a girl, Sawako, whose life got turned around after meeting the class popular guy, Kazehaya.
The reason why Sawako was shunned had to do with the fact that she gave off a very awkward and misunderstood scary aura. Many of her schoolmates attributed her to the famous Japanese horror film character, Sadako. But after consistently bumping into Kazehaya and received a pep talk from him, she gained enough confidence to approach others and took initiative to befriend them.
I may be biased on this anime because Sawako’s school life prior to meeting Kazehaya was something I deeply resonated with. I would recommend people to watch this anime to understand how difficult it was to survive by yourself with no other friends.
Rating: 9⭐/10
TLDR: A wholesome anime where you may constantly be rooting for the protagonist of the story throughout the seasons.
3️⃣ Violet Evergarden
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: IMDB thru’ Google Image Search)
The story revolves around a girl, Violet, who struggles to fit into society and learn about the meaning of the emotion, love. Throughout the series, you will follow Violet on her journey as she meet others and seeking answers for herself.
That’s really all I can say. And.. if you really want to watch this anime, you may need to go to the supermarket and empty out the shelves of tissues, because every single episode is going to make you bawl like a baby.
No, I am not joking.
Really.
Rating: 10⭐/10
I am not rating it that simply because I want you guys to watch it. It is really an excellent anime to watch in my opinion.
TLDR: GET TISSUES! ALL OF THEM!
4️⃣ Kaguya-sama: Love Is War!
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: IMDB thru’ Google Image Search)
This anime is no brainer to be on this cluster list because it is literally about romance.
The romance is actually between Miyuki, the president of the student council, and Kaguya, the vice-president of the student council. It has been a long time since I last watched this anime, hence, I am not entirely sure what happened.
But I remember that both Miyuki and Kaguya are secretly in love with each other but they refused to confess their feelings to each other first. To them, the first person to confess lose this some invisible game they are unconsciously playing.
I have yet to watch the second season, and any others after the first season if there is, but I do hope that I would be able to catch it soon before I get too overwhelmed by my ever-growing list of things to catch up on.
But, honestly, it can get a bit annoying from time to time...
Rating: 7⭐/10
TLDR: Fun to watch the two protagonist hide their feelings for each other but it can get a bit annoying after a while...

I am going to start a brand new series which is the Anime Review. However, there are some animes I have watched a long time ago I may have forgotten some of the details. I know I can rewatch them but I don’t want to put myself through it again... Think the most I would do is probably watch some clips on YouTube.
I will try to cover as many anime as I could remember watching though it is inevitable that I will miss some. I may have a lot of clips to watch on YouTube just to refresh my memory.
If the anime is running by seasons, then I will most likely be writing them by seasons. But because I have a whole list to write, the anime which I have watched will have all of its seasons clustered together at the time of writing. If a new season appears after I have written a review, that particular season will be written separately.
Do note that such posts would definitely have 🚨Spoilers🚨
To start off the list, let’s go with the anime which has just completed its latest season, Spy x Family
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Showbiz Cheat Sheet thru’ Google Image Search)
The story is about a spy, Loid Forger, who works behind the scenes to try and prevent a war brewing to maintain the peace of the country. In order for him to carry out the mission, he adopts a child with telepathy abilities, Anya, and invited an assassin, Yor, to live with him to create an image of family.
The show provides a look at the hilarious attempts of each individual of the Forger family in doing their best to carry out their respective missions while hiding their deepest darkest secrets (Loid being a spy, Anya having telepathic abilities, and Yor being an assassin).
The show was fun to watch and I looked forward to the weekly updates. However, when the second season came, I was kind of disappointed.

The second season still has its funny moments but I feel like the comedy of the show has reduced significantly. I am not sure if that was intentional because I did not read the manga.
But I highly doubt I would stash this anime away because I am genuinely curious about a few things.
1️⃣ Will Loid and Yor’s fake marraige become a real one?
2️⃣ When will Loid and Yor discover each other’s secret identity (including Anya)?
3️⃣ Will Damian come forth and confess his feelings to Anya?
4️⃣ Will there be a chance for Yuri to discover Loid’s identity as a spy?
All of these questions are what keeps me waiting for a new season. Hopefully there will be one since there are anime series known to stop producing animated versions for various reasons. I hope the anime’s success will keep it going.

I know the public holiday of Chinese New Year (CNY) is over, but it actually isn't officially over. For brief context, CNY lasts 15 days. Tomorrow is the last day and I thought to quickly do a cluster anime review featuring 🐉DRAGONS🐉.
I have to clarify that the dragons don't necessarily have to be the main characters. If there's a scene featuring them, then it's enough to be on this list.
Also, 🚨SPOILERS🚨 as usual.
1️⃣ Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: My Media Chops thru' Google Image Search)
This anime talks about Tohru, the larger human in the picture above, deciding to become Kobayashi's personal maid as a way to thank her for saving her life. It is also a one-sided romance (on the dragon's part).
It is more of a slice-of-life anime as we witness Tohru and Kobayashi living together, with Kobayashi being the sole breadwinner of this weird family, and Tohru being the "housewife" of this weird family.
The only reason I would watch this without any complains is because of Kanna. That little white girl in the picture above, she is insanely adorable.
Anyway, all of this is based on memory since I watched this quite some time ago. But I do not have any adverse reactions to this anime so I'd say it's worth a watch. If nothing else, do it for Kanna!
Rating: 8⭐/10
2️⃣ Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Epicstream thru' Google Image Search)
This anime started out as super violent, but it eventually died down to be meh.
Arifureta talks about a class being teleported to another world. The main protagonist, Hajime, was betrayed by a classmate... technically being pushed by a classmate, and fell deep into the dungeons. There, he met his first harem wife, Yue, a vampire princess who was betrayed by her own kind as well.
Together, they cleared the dungeon and made it out alive, and along the way, Hajime gathered more comrades like collection to his ever growing harem. Because of what he had to do to survive in the dungeon, he became ridiculously strong.
Now, it seems like an interesting anime but the action seems to have died down a lot ever since Hajime surfaced to the world above. As mentioned earlier, Hajime was gathering allies, but it felt more like he was collecting more women to add to his harem collection. I know this is the author's intention, but seriously, can't we just have one anime that doesn't focus on this kind of thing?
I am not saying that it is a bad anime; on the contrary, it is a good anime. Just that it is getting annoying that anime authors decided to focus more on other things than the plot of the story. Plus, the one ick I have about this anime is that his own teacher fell in love with him.

3️⃣ Yuusha Party wo Tsuihou sareta Beast Tamer, Saikyoushu no Nekomimi Shoujo to Deau
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: https://i.imgur.com/EFjLqcr.png on Google Search)
It has been a while since this anime got any updates.
Rein Shroud, the beast tamer in the series, was kicked out by the hero's party because he was deemed useless. In fact, he was never regarded highly in the party as the rest of the hero's party members felt that his skill would not be useful in battle. As a result, he got kicked out of the party.
While many may mope and cry about it, Rein was actually happy about it. He went on a journey to become an adventurer himself, met many new friends and was able to gather an array of strong beasts.
It is quite a cozy anime to watch and I would recommend giving this a whirl.

The very first anime cluster review of the year and I want to kick-start it by doing a church-related theme review. Of course, we have the general elements such as a cathedral or church, a priest, a bishop, and some sisters.
I also need to preface that the concept of the story using the church-related theme in the anime does not reflect or represent the entire religion of Christianity. If we have that common understanding, then we shall proceed.
Also, 🚨SPOILERS🚨 are to be expected.
1️⃣ Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East (Hakkenden)
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Hakkenden Touhou Hakken Ibun Wiki Fandom thru' Google Image Search)
I am not entirely sure if this anime is well known or it's not a popular anime of such. I hardly hear anybody talk about this anime. The last time I saw this title was when I was scrolling through Reddit in search of anime that I may have watched previously (to jog my memory).
Anyway, this anime talks about a group of childhood friends from the same village who got caught in a freak accident that destroyed their village. Being the sole survivors, they lived in a small church together, and eventually in the big city by force. However, the story goes far beyond just a group of children living together and being taken care of by the church.
It is quite a nice anime and lots of comedic moments. I attributed it to possibly because they were childhood friends who cares deeply for each other, but I suspect there is some BL going on...
Anyway, have a go at it and honestly, I am very surprised that this is not talked more in the anime community.

2️⃣ Chrono Crusade
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Crunchyroll thru' Google Image Search)
Chrono Crusade follows the story of a young sister and her demon partner on their journey to eradicate evil. The young sister, Rosette, searches for her brother who was taken away by another demon. Her demon partner, Chronos, happens to have some history with the demon who took away her brother.
It is quite an old anime and to be honest, I cannot remember much about the show. All I remember was Chronos being more powerful than he gives credit for in his current form. It's not a very memorable anime but I guess I did enjoy it at some point.
Rating: 7⭐/10
3️⃣ The Qwaser of Stigmata
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Ranker thru' Google Image Search)
This is more of an Adult-rated anime due to a certain reason in the series plot. Basically, there is this organisation that is seemingly run by a church of sorts (based on memory) that is out to deal with an evil organisation attempting to resurrect an evil lord they worship (again, based on memory).
What I also remember was that the church have their own group of fighters, who seemingly have their own agenda but they do get the job done, that are compatible with a certain metal. For example, the white-hair guy in the picture above, he is compatible with titanium. I remember there was also a girl who fights with her robot and she is compatible with copper.
I guess why this anime made an impression on me to the point that I am able to remember some details as compared to Chrono Crusade was because of the way these fighters need to power up. Remember when I said that this anime is more of an adult-rated anime? Yeah, here comes the reason.
The fighters need to power up by drinking milk. Directly. From the breast.
Yes, let that sink in for a moment... and yes, they actually showed you the entire process of them drinking milk... and there's also a whole ass theory in the anime about why milk gives them power....
I mean, if you find this weird, I agree with you to a certain extent but comparing it with Mushoku Tensei, I'd rather watch this anime.
Rating: 6.5 ⭐/10 (it would have been below 5 stars because of how weird it is but after watching Mushoku Tensei, this anime deserves a better rating)
4️⃣ Diabolik Lovers
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Otaku USA Magazine thru' Google Image Search)
I know Diabolik Lovers focus more on the vampire-theme but I was really struggling to find an anime to fit the theme. This was my mistake, and moreover, I am beginning to lose track of which anime I have reviewed. I probably will be reviewing the list of anime I have reviewed.
Anyway, Diabolik Lovers talks about Yui, the girl in the picture up there and the main protagonist of the anime, being sent to a mansion filled with drop-dead-gorgeous-vampires-who-cares-nothing-more-than-drinking-her-blood-and-terrorizing-her-like-no-tomorrow by the church where she was adopted.
A couple of the vampires in the mansion may be a bit touchy touchy with her because of the way they are, but none of them goes beyond the touchy touchy. Most of them just chomps into her and drinks her blood as if she is a free-flow blood machine.
Although it is based on the otome game of the same title, the anime does not show much of the romance genre. Also, there's a season 2 where Yui was kidnapped to another mansion, and to be honest, I was kind of raging at the original vampires and Yui.
Overall, a nice anime to watch.
