The Forest: Pure du Noir #1

Yet another day of no crops, it has been spreading pretty badly recently. As Yukoi gets out of bed, he feels a sharp pain in his back.

Shit, that hurts

He doesn’t know why he is in constant pain, just that the pain started when it showed up. Yukoi gets his overalls on and heads out to his crop fields. The dingy gray sky that hurts to breathe in sits stagnant as the breeze hasn’t been here for months now. He starts walking to his crops when his foot gets stuck in the ashy soil that's dryer than a desert.

Ugh, not again. Why does this keep happening? He pulls his foot out of his stuck boot and starts walking to his shed for a new pair, only to stop halfway down the path. What is that? He notices a new path that leads down to a forest that he has never seen before.

What? Why is there a forest there now? There have always just been fields of dead crops here. He starts down the path. The soil is firm and stable, unlike on his farm. When he reaches the forest, he notes a putrid smell but wanting to understand where the trees came from he continues on.

CRACK! A loud noise from behind him makes him turn around. Only to see more forest with no end in sight.

What the hell is happening? I just entered this forest, now it looks as if I’ve been hiking for hours! Confused, Yukoi decides to try to go back the way he came thinking it’ll bring him back to where the trail started. After what feels like an eternity of walking, he comes across a clearing, the foul smell being most pungent here. He looks around the clearing and sees a tree unlike any other on the opposite side of the clearing. That tree must be over 60 feet tall! Its branches twisting and vines hanging down everywhere.

Damn, what a beautiful tree! Yukoi’s tired body begged for rest, and with nowhere else to go he decided to fall asleep under the tree. Suddenly a wave of doom washes over him, smothering him with an unrelenting feeling that something wrong is happening, or is going to happen. He tries to wake up but he can as he starts to see an image in the void that surrounds him. It’s him, being held up by the vines from the tree. He gets a sharp pain throughout all of his body, all of his bones breaking one at a time in quick succession, then more and more searing pain as he skin and muscles are melted off his shattered skeleton. He watched in horror as the ground below his bones opened up and swallowed what remained of him. He is gone, all that he feels is pain. He jolts awake and it feels like he is in midair, and in front of him is the tree as all the pain that he felt in his dream happens again.

Szia:) a kérdésem az lenne hogy Midorima, Kasamatsu, Kise, Aomine, Kagami hogyan reagálna ha a barátnője elmondaná hogy már elég régóta szeretene tetoválást (és már meg is engednék neki:D)??? És mit tenne ha meglátná a lány bal könyökhajlatán a mesterművet??:) (feketefehér lány derékig egy ellipszisben, már majdnem olyan mintha egy bross lenne, csak a kezén, körülötte pedig fogaskerekek:)) Előre is köszi:D

Midorima nagyon komolyan veszi az ilyen döntéseket, és valóban fennáll annak a veszélye, hogy a tetkó megcsináltatásának napjáig minden percben olyan indokokat vág hozzá a lányhoz, amivel lebeszélhetné őt erről a felelőtlen és gyerekes viselkedésről

miután a tetkó - minden igyekezete és rosszalló pillantása ellenére - mégis elkészül, egy ideig akkor is csak fintorogni tud

de mivel már ez is a lányhoz tartozik, és be kell látni, választhatott volna rosszabb mintát is, elfogadja a barátnője eme művészi berögződését

Kasamatsu:

mármint tetoválás? Olyan dolog, ami fájdalmat okoz, mikor megcsinálják?!?!

neki nem a tetkóval van baja, ugyan, hisz a lány így is az személy marad, akit szeret, ezen végképp nem egy sima tetoválás fog változtatni

itt inkább ott a probléma, hogy Kasamatsu a gondolatát sem bírja elviselni annak, hogy a barátnője önként vállalja a fájdalmas műveletet

lebeszélni nem akarja, inkább csak visszafojtott félelemmel és aggódással áll hozzá a dologhoz

“Ugyan, Yukio, feleannyira sem fog fájni, mint amikor képen találnak egy kosárlabdával” –> ez volt a megnyugtatás, elméletileg

de Kasamatsu végleg csak akkor nyugszik meg, amikor a lány a borzalmak végén még mindig él és virul, ráadásul látszólag boldog is a tetoválásával

egyáltalán nem botránkoztatja meg a dolog, kicsit talán meglepődik, mert nem éppen a tetkó ugrik be neki elsőnek, ha a barátnőjére gondol, de miért ne? Ha szépet választ, és nem valami nyál szöveget, vagy hasonlót, akkor ezzel nincs is semmi gond

a fájdalom meg kit érdekel? Erősebb az ő barátnője annál, minthogy egy ilyen kis semmiség megártson neki, jól tudja

a dolog egyenesen tündöklő a barátnő szeméből nézve, mert Aomine még segít is neki kiválasztani a mintát

amikor elkészül a tetkó, Aomine érdeklődve várja, hogy megmutassa neki

a végeredmény tökéletes, az oda vezető út pedig sima volt, mint egy elkoptatott kosárlabda felülete

miután rögződik benne, hogy nem-rocker-emberek, és teljesen józanok is csinálhatnak tetoválást, felötlik a kérdés: mire jó egy tetoválás?

a rendkívül kimerítő és megfelelő tájékoztatás után Kagami végre jól informált lesz arról, mit is jelent egy tetoválás

azonban még egy ideig ezután is gondolkozik rajta eleget, hogy ez jó ötlet-e vagy sem

de nem akar beleszólni a lány döntésébe, mert szó, ami szó, ő sem viselné jó szívvel, ha a lány például a kosárlabdáról, vagy valami hasonló jó dologról próbálná lebeszélni

A végeredmény: a lány szereti a tetoválását, Kagami nem talál benne semmi kivetnivalót, szépnek szép, megdicséri, az ügy pedig túl van tárgyalva

Update on The Living Sparrow

It’s happening!! I promise!! I need to put together some stuff and finish ref sheets n the like but then it’ll be ready to go.

Spoilers ahead!

So yeah, The Living Sparrow itself is the ship. The crew are as follows:

Itli Achpotl, the avian captain and trained medic on the ship. She’s a bit of a ditz, but her crew respect her as both an equal and a leader. 

Esrakh Birdai, the older of the floran twins (though it’s only by about 3 minutes, she’s very proud of this). She specializes engineering and what many folk would call “alchemy.” In a scrape, she’s great at blowing something up as a distraction.

Mat’och Birdai, the younger of the two. He likes swords. A lot. He’s not the brightest, but has extensive training with pretty much any weapon you can pick up with two hands.

Suga Takumi, a hylotl cook and part-time novelist. Though verbose with his descriptions, he likes to be the first to report on anything going on in the world. 

Of the side characters planned, there’s quite a few. I’ve only listed a few here, the rest will be revealed in time.

Iba Erik, a floran artist from a high-class metropolitan colony. She’s the physical embodiment of a ‘white girl’ in a floran body. After dropping out of the same foster school that Esrakh attended, she kept in contact and should make a few appearances.

Yatzil Aja, Itli’s friend and former... something. She doesn’t talk about it. Big math nerd. Has a history with Avos and tends to be sneaky about where she goes, often docking her ship in the same place as the Living Sparrow to catch radio signals from Kluex’s ‘minions.’

Ergo, Yatzil’s crewmember and artisan actress. While very effeminate, Ergo has a cocky attitude and is the walking definition of ‘disaster gay.’ Has a part time job of repairing stages.

Amos Alcan, human politician, and former friend of Itli. They don’t talk much, after, well...

Gusev Bryukenko, apex bioscientist and generally level headed guy. Although the crony of Alcan, he certainly wishes he wasn’t anymore.

Yukoi, a remnant of a disaster long past. Where did they come from?

Essentially, this ask blog will be a revamp/continuation of my old Starbound story which I will never finish hahaha so be on the lookout for more about that.
