Mini-review:

Now this is how you make a blockbuster. I must admit I didn't love it as much as Hideaki Anno's cerebral and complex Shin Godzilla, which lives rent free in my head, but this one is still a fantastic piece of popcorn cinema. The human drama is very engaging, and all of Godzilla's scenes are stunning. The CGI is nothing short of awe-inspiring, and it only gets even more impressive when you realize this movie was made for like 10% the budget of most Hollywood blockbusters. So yeah, while Godzilla Minus One will not go down as my favorite movie in this franchise, it's masterfully crafted and undeniably entertaining.

So the reason g-rev Kai feels so different is because g-rev was closer to the manga with how they wrote him. In the manga, Kai's grabdfather was unrelated to Borg (still an abusive piece of shit), and Kai uses beyblading as an outlet for his anger, as well as an act of rebellion (Kai's father abandoned his family for blading, which caused his grandfather to hate blading itself). The Yuya incident also never happened in the manga

Which then takes us to the BEGA arc. So the manga ended with the world championship arc. BEGA was a scrapped concept that concept, but there was an early draft of it. Takao Aoki, the creator of the manga, also had more creative control over the anime, since he didn't have his editor (Zeo being an android was also a scrapped manga concept. And the manga was darker with that by making him real!Zeo's younger brother who was manipulated into thinking he was the real Zeo)

The entire BEGA arc was lifted from an early draft for a manga arc. A manga arc that was written without considering anything the anime did differently. Volkov and Kai's relationship wasn't acknowledged because of how minor it was in the manga. Kai joined BEGA because that was consistent with the manga characterization. And because of how different the anime and manga were, it meant that they essentially got a completely different character and put him in Kai's place

Sidenote, but the dub changed the dialogue in Kai's fight with Brooklyn substantially. They made Brooklyn someone who enjoys blading because he's naturally good at it, and Kai calls him out for never putting any effort into bettering himself

i knew kai's backstory was different in the manga + that the yuya incident never happened there. but the fact that they just.. didn't change a THING to make sure this fit into the anime. yowch.

11/18-12/3で東京藝術大学美術館陳列館にて開催されている「雲と息つぎ」の会場内にてパフォーマンスを行います。

11/26(日) 大貫友瑞（青木淳研究室２期生）による声と身体をメディアとして空間に介入するパフォーマンス 13:30/15:00/16:30 (各回5分程度)

12/2(土) 本間雄也、柳沢勇太、菊池幸太郎、宮垣輝希（東京藝術大学打楽器科）によるサウンドパフォーマンス 11:00/15:00(各回30分程度)

なお、パフォーマンス中も展覧会会場は自由に出入りしていただけます。
