You know, I walked into SEED Freedom knowing that Shiho would finally get to live out her Fandom's Convenient Self-insert Duties and get that arranged marriage life with Yzak, and you know what? I do like that. I do think that is a cute thing to do. Nice little nod to the fans.

Which made it completely baffling when Yzak's mom was doing her obligatory cameo and reacted to Yzak looking at Dearka with a smile.

What was up with that?

She walked in the office as she glared. “They won’t let me in the hangar.” Alexis stared. “Something about current status.” Not know that office of professional conduct had found out about her involvement and about her and yzaks renewed bethrowal. She stoped when she saw chairman durrandle. ‘Shit’

“well if it isn’t the persons we were just discussing. Welcome back commander Yamato or should I say joule. I got the invitation of the event in a couple months. I assure you most of the council will be in attendance”she clenched her fist as she didn’t know his mom had set things in motion so fast.

Yzak sat coolly in his chair. "Have a seat, Lt. Commander. The chairman wants to have a chat about the recent events." His eyes remained sharp on her. His whole demeanor changed from the night before, no longer soft or comforting. He wanted to say more, but it was too dangerous with the chairman there. Yzak hoped she would keep her machine a secret for now.

The movie was so packed with cameos idk why I was surprised to see these two, but it was nice to see them!!

People like to joke about how AsuCaga fans have had it rough for like 17 years but nothing compares to Shiho/Yzak fans who have subsisted off of a single one-shot manga from like 18 years ago where she is implied to have a one-sided crush on him, and then her sole appearance in Freedom is her having a line for the first time ever (she gasps, not even a spoken line) and is standing next to Yzak.

Here is the MG Duel Gundam, piloted by local angry wet cat Yzak.

I always liked it blue and orange colors with light gray in model kit form, and shedding armor gimmicks is one of my favorite mecha things of all time. It's about $40 and comes with a lot of accessories so I'd say pretty worth it.
