Okay, so, the fashion model, Kristen McMenamy has featured on my Tumblr more than any other fashion model. McMenamy being one of my all-time favourites of the '90s fashion era. I even have a tag which I haven't collated for any other model other than Kristen.

However... I feel the need to say something in light of the recent controversy surrounding the Zara campaign. You may be wondering how this is connected? Well, the model featured in the campaign unfortunately happens to be McMenamy. And I am majorly disappointed!!!

These images are not okay in the midst of current events. And I don't know what anyone that was involved in this shoot was thinking?! I don't know if Kristen is just oblivious or what. However, I find it difficult to argue against these photos being anything but strategically planned and symbolically cruel. And if Kristen failed to miss this, all I can say is that it's complete ignorance.

Anyone that knows anything about fashion will know that it is usual for everything to be creatively directed and thought-out to fine detail. While, I can't put the entirety of the blame on Kristen as such (however, there was still consent to comply) - and yes, it's true that fashion models often get little to no creative input in the actual production and act as mere subject. However, I am doubtful that the Gaza–Israel Conflict wouldn't cross your mind when posing next to a mannequin that looks exactly like the white cloth that Palestinians wrap their dead in while being surrounded by what looks like rubble and distressed plaster like that of destroyed wall.

Fashion models, especially of McMenamy's calibre do have the ability to have some autonomy and say no. For example, we've seen it with high-profile models who refused to wear real fur and still kept their careers.

These are my parting words on the whole situation at this point. Most importantly if there's anything else left to say - Let this be a statement from both model(s) and most prominently, Zara!

whoo damn the pressure of having to act out the characters of the people right in front of you at the table. but it's going great, bells hells meeting vox machina is really nice so far! I really enjoy stoic and kinda harshly distant percy, it really fits him. no quarter where delilah is concerned.

really surprised at them reacting so intensely to the news that delilah and laudna's souls are linked in some way? I mean I figured that had to be the case cause delilah seems so diminished in power. plus the whole 'if I'm going I'm taking her with me'? I figured she lived inside laudna. pretty sure laudna even outright said she lives in her head, but I guess you can take that figuratively.
