It’s late but I’m posting about Shadows again :] lemme yap a little bit under the cut <3

Idk if you could tell quite yet, but I’m basing the Shadows on Zelda Bosses (i.e. Dark Link, Koloktos, Morpheel, Helmaroc King, etc) because I think it’s neat! Also I figured I’d post Helm’s design because 1) He’s one of my few official Shadow designs excluding Link and 2) because he’s gonna show up in the side comic I’m making for SOH. Helm is kind of a special case, he’s pretty bulky because he has a lot more variety in his diet than other Shadows do. Unlike the others who can only eat meat, he can eat fruits and veggies and sometimes bones. He’s also remarkably good with kids considering how big he is. Also he’s based on a hornbill!! Because they’re so so pretty you guys!!

Have some silly piece I made ages ago, but I hadn’t shared here! Here’s a little bit of world building for The Golden Chain AU: Hyrule Castle celebrates once a year the reconstruction of the kingdom with an open visit, with its staff and inhabitants dressed in - sometimes imperfect - historical clothes.

Zelda can be very petty about it. But the following year she got a good outfit!

I really want a Zelda of an Oracle or Sorceress bent, please!!!! Let her be a bit shadowy, a bit subliminal, a bit off.

Linktober Day 18: Boss

For anyone confused, this is meant to be a redesign of Tentalus from Skyward Sword. I thought it was a great battle but let's be honest, she looked like something out of Monsters Inc. I tried to keep the tentacle snake hair but make the rest of the body more serious. I felt the tentacle arms weren't necessary, so I removed them.

What better Zelda to start with then the first?

Sun i think by virtue of being the first redesigned will probably be the closest to her game counterpart, I altered her dress to be a dress version of the knights tunic, added the ribbons up her boots to invoke the vibe of her goddess sandals and to match her hair ribbons, i imposed the goddesses bracelets onto her leather arm guards and designed her a sailcloth, its more shawl like then the one she made for Link, also she gets a beret to match Karane, i assume its a female version of the dumb windsock hat the boys have to wear

All of the redesigns will collectively be under the Legend of Zelly au tag, don't expect me to post very often i am primarily doing this for my own fun and am not really focusing on one character at a time, its a miracle Sun is done at all

I've said before this did start from Linked Universe but has branched off so far I've disconnected it and am making it its own thing that won't be associated, the main thing that will be staying the same is how the games are collected up and condensed, eg Link to the Past Zelda will be the same Zelda in Link's Awakening, Link Between World's, Oracle of Age's and Season's, and Triforce Hero's, and some nicknames may be the same

I've also said how this started as a Zelda redesign project, it has since expanded much further so don't be surprised if you see a random smattering of other Zelda characters tossed in as well, i think the only people i will not be redesigning are the Link's themselves but i may lose that battle with myself so who knows

Sun is a little bit of an exception but alot of the designs will come prepackaged with far too much world building and other lore headcannons just for funnies on top

Also designs may not be final, by virtue of hop skipping around between several characters at once i may post a character and then come back to it later with different ideas

besides the concepts for your comic have you created others about Zelda?

Aww yes! In 2019 during the Linktober I made the first design of this futuristic Link, then in 2021 I also made Zelda, these are two designs that I love so much and I was hoping to create an entire Au!

I also set the story in a technological world where Ganon is actually a Virus! I'd love to be able to do something with this at some point!

Here’s a more detailed breakdown of my inspiration and research for my South Asian Zelda AU! Originally shared this on Twitter a couple years ago...

These designs are based on/inspired by the Vedic Period of India’s history, as well as a bit of the Mauryan era. Outside of research, some of my visual inspo came from those nostalgic Chandamama illustrations, as my dad used to collect them, as well as the Mahabharata serials!

Been a little while since I posted one of these redesigns! Ngl I kinda sat on this for a bit because I got really burnt out but it’s here now! This is specifically of Princess Hilda and ALBW Zelda, though she does also count as my vision of Fable from LU! 

Main changes are essentially just Hilda and Fable are supposed to be opposites and yet very similar so I swapped the palettes majorly to be white, pink, and blue and black, purple, and green. Also really wanted to change up the hairstyles bc a huge majority of Zeldas have long blonde hair that’s down.
