Soulmate AU
when you meet your person, you have your eye color change to the other person's eye color.
Person A who has heterochromia after meeting a soulmate. Soulmate is Person B, who has a split personality. B's eye color is the same, but persona A is convinced that this particular person is their soulmate. Something just went wrong.
Something definitely goes wrong when they get into some kind of stressful situation.
Maybe they're separated by a fallen building, maybe they're captured, maybe it's a trivial fight in an alley outside a bar. But afterward, finally holding B in their arms, the A's can't breathe. From B's angry, smiling face, covered with blood and sweat, an exact copy of their unchanged eyes stare at A.

I think it's so funny and also based that they turned Helmut Zemo, a prolific nazi in the comics, into an extremely vocal anti-imperialist fruity leftist, one of the absolute funniest decisions that could have been made.

(Nebulous parole universe)
Zemo disappears without a trace as soon as he is allowed to after the Thunderbolts' last mission, wanting to put distance between himself and Bucky.
It takes a few months, but Bucky, angry (and hurt) that Zemo has left without so much as a wave goodbye, eventually tracks him down to a nondescript apartment in Spain.
"You covered your tracks well, but you forget who I am."
Zemo, convinced that choosing to be with him will only spell bad things for Bucky, tells him to forget everything between them.
"You will lose everything, James: your pardon, Sam, Wakanda."
