New Things to Beware on the Internet

On May 3rd, Google released 8 new top-level domains (TLDs) -- these are new values like .com, .org, .biz, domain names. These new TLDs were made available for public registration via any domain registrar on May 10th.

Usually, this should be a cool info, move on with your life and largely ignore it moment.

Except a couple of these new domain names are common file type extensions: ".zip" and ".mov".

This means typing out a file name could resolve into a link that takes you to one of these new URLs, whether it's in an email, on your tumblr blog post, a tweet, or in file explorer on your desktop.

What was previously plain text could now resolve as link and go to a malicious website where people are expecting to go to a file and therefore download malware without realizing it.

Folk monitoring these new domain registrations are already seeing some clearly malicious actors registering and setting this up. Some are squatting the domain names trying to point out what a bad idea this was. Some already trying to steal your login in credentials and personal info.

This is what we're seeing only 12 days into the domains being available. Only 5 days being publicly available.

What can you do? For now, be very careful where you type in .zip or .mov, watch what website URLs you're on, don't enable automatic downloads, be very careful when visiting any site on these new domains, and do not type in file names without spaces or other interrupters.

I'm seeing security officers for companies talking about wholesale blocking .zip and .mov domains from within the company's internet, and that's probably wise.

Be cautious out there.

Being teased all the time because he's not scared at all, while you're shaking in fear and jumping scared from every single "monster" that jumps at you. Oliver laughs at you all the time while complaining about the fact that those monsters and creatures are so fake and ugly and just unreal.

Asking to be teased by her, as she is always laughing non-stop at those so called monsters and how you seem to be so scared of them. Zip cannot keep a straight face whenever she pushes you to get a closer look at the "creature" just to run back almost crying from fear.

[♡] ∆lice

Going with a bodyguard, that threatens anyone or anything who scares you, no caring if it's alive or just an object. Alice is going to be on the front as you're clinging on her arm from fear of those things as she glares at each one of them, holding herself back from destroying everything.

[♡] Engel

Having those really sweet friends/boyfriends who let you cling to them as they try to comfort you saying that it's not real. Engel walks with you behind him as he keeps activating the jumpscares, trying to not get you scared of those things.

[♡] Claire

Those two friends/partners in horror movies who are hugging each other, scared from any sound or shadow that they are aware of. Claire is mostly going to be scared with you, but she would try to be more brave and help you out even if it means facing her fears.

[♡] Abbie

Having to either get the courage to walk in front of him, or just cry with him as you both walk around the house. Abbie is not really the bravest, and he doesn't even know why he came here, but he probably regretted it the moment he entered the house as you two ran away from everything.

You and Zip were a really fun couple. She was always teasing you, and you're either not understanding it or you're trying to scold her while failing miserably.

She loves you though, like a lot. Zip enjoys how silly you are, she thinks it's a really fun part of your personality!

One thing Zip also liked was the fact that you were Alice's younger sister.

And that fact alone wasn't what made her really excited, but the fact that because of this, you were the teachers favorite.

All of them were way more friendly to you and seemed to avoid getting you in trouble. And since Zip is dating she ends up getting a similar treatment as well.

Obviously she's not with you just because of that, this is just something that came when dating you, her silly girlfriend <3

Zip is always walking around the halls holding your hand, almost jumping around as she picks on whoever she finds.

And oh boy, it's better that no one tries to even think about bullying you or something like that. They're going to regret it pretty soon.

୨୧ Chip and Zip would probably be attached by the hip, everywhere Zip goes Chip is right after her, following her like a little mosquito and Zip would make sure to know where Chip is at all times, she cant afford the mental sanity to lose him.

୨୧ I think Zip would have those baby strap (is that how its called?) that carries the baby on their chest so they wont have to occupy their hands, she mostly does this to keep track of him and to not lose him in that massive and dangerous school.

୨୧ Chip is the only exception to not be picked up, Zip does not allow Oliver in any form or shape to bully or at least tease Chip because if he does, lets say things wont end well for Oliver.
