Gorillas invent new noise to get food from keepers:
Primate researcher Roberta Salmi noticed a strange sound, something between a cough and a sneeze, a "snough" if you will, when an ape keeper is nearby with food. The keepers would approach the gorilla to do a health check, and since they had snacks on hand, frequently gave a little treat after.
Becoming curious, Salmi reached out to over 25 other zoos and 18 different groups of gorillas have been recorded snoughing for keepers' attention (and treats). Some of these groups have not had any contact with other snoughing groups.
Experiments concluded different gorillas in separate zoos all "created" this sound separately- mimicking illness to get the keepers' attention. They did not produce the sound to each other, nor is there any documentation of the snough in the wild. They didn't even bother snoughing when keepers were nearby without food, they only made the snough when keepers were nearby with food. They even repeated the sound until the keeper responded.

The library zoo passes are funny to me because like you would think every single person would be checking those out but not once in my nearly 3 years of working at this library has anyone done it actually
I believe this is because were like nearly as far away as you can get from Atlanta in georgia but like also I'm sure people have been taking atlanta trips!! Go to the zoo for free when you do!!! Hell I've been to atlanta at least twice since working here like just get a zoo pass
