Dug's ears perk up at the other's laughter, wondering if they were laughing at him or with him. Either way, he didn't seem to mind because the other didn't look threatening in the slightest. His excitement grew even more, his butt practically wiggling from it all.

" Perrito...? Woah, "

The retriever exclaims in awe, loving how their name sounded. He takes a careful step to sniff closer, finding their scent different from anything he's smelt before.

" That's a nice name! My name is Dug! I already like you, Perrito, you seem so happy and I like that! I think we will be good buddies... Hey, have you seen a bird around here? I am on a special mission to find a really big bird and anything would be really great to find it... "

Johnny had just been sitting around, completely lost in thought.

Man, I'm hungry. I could totally go for a banana right 'bout now. Mmm... banana. They're delicious, but sometimes they can be real messy to eat. And then there was that one time when I got a real bad bruise from eatin' too many bananas in one day. And then, oh man, remember when I tried to make banana bread? Hah! That was a total disast—

His thoughts were interrupted when he suddenly felt little claws at his hair. He immediately reached up to grab at the scruff of the dog's neck to pull him away. "Hey! Lay off the 'do, will ya?! Didn't anyone ever teach ya not to mess with a man's style? Jeez!" he grunted.

There is a gentle touch, one of a cold paw resting against her leg while she's sitting. The owner of the paw is a scruffy little mutt named Perrito. He looks at her with big, reassuring eyes, his tail wagging softly behind him. He knows that something is wrong, and he is here to (hopefully) make her feel better. The paw soon moves off of her and is replaced by a brief nuzzle of a wet nose, followed by his head lying on her leg as a silent encouragement to pet him if she desires. (touch muse meme; Perrito to Anna!)

She glances down at where that tiny paw touches her leg, her hands lowering from where they had been covering her tear-stained face only moments before. A small but weary smile crosses her lips at the sight of the scruffy little dog, and she reaches her hand down to stroke his head.

"You certainly came at the right time, huh?" Anna laughs gently before sniffling. "It's been one of those days."

It was a night that Galeb had foreseen over and over again. The night he'd have to face up to what he was, what he was doing with a werewolf and the destruction he would no doubt cause for Manny somewhere down the line. It was what his kind did best, after all -- - without even trying.

Though this time he'd at least warned the man before walking away, more accustomed to just up and disappearing entirely without a single word whenever he abandoned those he cared for, those he loved. Berel was right, it was the one constant in his sire's entire existence, abandonment.

So, when he made his way to the door, decidedly not looking back, unable to take the sight of Manny as he walked away, it wasn't until his wrist was grabbed that he couldn't help but turn his attention back to him.

"I'll warn you only once, perrito. Let go." His voice growled as he finally turned to look at him, his silent heart sinking in his chest.

"This is for your own good. Believe me."

You have so many muses that I love and I love writing with you. I hope we can do more next year when your Disney/animation blog is done.

2023 is almost over!

Thank you!!! I love writing with your Puss and Perrito. I hope we continue to write more too but I assure that I'm making progress on my animation multi a little each day. I'm hoping to get it done by the end of January at the latest.

Jack exclaimed suddenly, a little louder than he expected. It clearly was a lie. While his childhood was relatively stable, there were some memories that he would rather move on from. Little Jack was no more; he is not going to reminisce on his past.

" My childhood was fine! Had two loving parents, stability... plenty of good things! Why are you asking, anyway? "

Another partial lie. He looks away from the small dog, a defeated sort of look on his expression. His backstory wasn't perfect, but it wasn't pathetically sad. If they were expecting him to open up, it likely wasn't going to work on the first try.

"Mm. Your home would prove suitable. Anywhere but Boston." It would be nice to spend some time away without having to worry about looking over his shoulder, or keeping a firm grip on what the Kine might repeat whenever he had some over to sustain himself. "I'll leave the details up to you." Why did he have a feeling that the camper was stirring around inside Manny's head just by looking at him? "And yes. Camping would also be agreeable. Mostly."

He might have to buy some new clothes though, or more likely, send one of his retainers to bring him something more suitable than his countless suits.

"You forget I was born long before cars were invented, perrito. I have walked the wilderness in my time. As surprising as that may seem these days." He did remind him with another light twinge of humour and a teasing raise of one brow. "So, the esteemed detective began his days as a petty car thief alongside his kin?" A smile tweaked at one corner of Galeb's lips, glancing down to the werewolf's hand. "Werewolves." He mused in his usual demure way of teasing the man, those brilliant blue eyes looking up again, finding Manny's with a wicked twinkle. "How inferior." Another light jap as he nudged him with his shoulder to make sure he knew he was only teasing him.

"Tell me more about them. About your family. Your wife, for instance." His hand turned to catch the detective's, gently clasping his fingers around it as if to reassure him in his own quiet way. "How did you meet?"

“Leaving me to the vacation plans? Jeez, you really must be messed up.” Joking, clearly, but Manny gave a proper thought to it. “Think they’d find you if we just went back to my place? Doubt even Mrs. Sinclair would let any of your clans walk through without knowing about it.” If not, well… he wouldn’t mind making sure the camper was loaded up with enough things a vampire could need for a couple of weeks.

Though explaining to the corner store clerk why he needed like four bags of ice and six mini-coolers was probably going to be a very interesting conversation…

Well, that could be a thought for later. For now he kept his focus on Galeb, idly thumbing a pattern against the back of one of his hands as he thought on one particular story. “Well… for a while we used to trudge on foot. Might seem awful, but it’s not that bad when you got like a nine-foot tall beast of burden carrying half the camp gear.” He laughed a bit at the memory of several wolves getting shackled with he boxes and tents, but eventually shook his head. “There was this one year where one of them managed to get a job delivering cakes… paid under the table, and the owner even taught him how to drive. And… well…”

Now the next part? He was sure Galeb wouldn’t believe. “He couldn’t exactly keep it secret, was more than willing to teach any of us and well… ‘bout a week later half of us who knew may have gotten the idea to head back into town a steal some cars.”

i like your muses! they come from a fandom i'm pretty familiar with & grew up watching! for the most part, i think you've nailed down the characters really well, especially Perrito's! i've seen some threads and ask responses you've done, and you just do a great job at em! :D
