Salutations.

Hi. I’m an Almost. Most of the people in my life call me Erin, so you can call me that too if you want to.

So, you might be asking yourself what is an Almost anyways? Well, think of someone who is achieving really great things. You know the type.  Constantly going on vacations, working a really cool job that’s centered around the degree they got probably from some prestigious four-year college. making enough money to pay their bills and still go out, sharing said perfected life on all social media as if to rub it all in your face...you know, them?  

An Almost is not that.

Us Almost hang out in a weird limbo below them. It’s like we are just about cool enough, but never quite there. It’s like there is something invisible that just stops our propelled motion forward into a screetchy, often clumsy, halt. It’s like we can see the things we want, and we are just about there, our fingertips stretching as far as they can, but ultimately our wingspan is just a little too short to grab it.

Now, before this begins to feel too depressingly self-laothing, being an Almost doesn’t necessarily mean life sucks. No, us kids still get to experience the beauty of life, full of genuine experiences, rad people, dogs, and countless hours of looking up “snakes in hats” on Google...seriously though, if you haven’t done this already do it now and then come back here. But, we just live in this little niche where we could be like “the type” mentioned above, but for some reason we choose to reside in the Almost instead. Always aware of what could be, but remaining complacent where we’re at.

This is my life as a 24 year old art student who is about to graduate from college and who is currently having her “fuck.” moment.

This is me as an Almost.
