I don't know about the alps, but somewhere cooler doesn't sound so bad... Although the idea of being on the beach with a cold drink is also pretty damn appealing.

You think we could rent a cabin or a lake house for a few days and pretend we're in the south of France?

I would suggest anywhere cooler in this climate. Perhaps the exaggerated choice of skiing in the Alps? And take your best friend with you, so he can also experience the Alps.

On a more serious note, maybe somewhere with a beach. Florida? California? Although looking up some more private beaches for rent for a few days might be less stressful than being around loud crowds also escaping the summer heat.

It was a gamble asking Sam to pick her up. Hell, it was a gamble even agreeing to go to dinner with him afterwards. They had unfinished history, and it was something that had been very apparent by the conversation they'd had online. However, as she wheeled her suitcase to the arrivals area of the airport, Mercedes couldn't help the elation that had begun to bubble within her. Not only was she home and was going to see her family soon, but she was going to see Sam.

Within seconds of the electronic doors opening she could see him, and despite herself, a goofy smile formed on her features. "Sam!" She let out, shaking her head as she made her way towards him. "I told you, you didn't need a sign!"

Is he jazzed? Oh, you bet your ass he is! Sure, Mercedes told him t not go outta his way to clean his truck but the guy can’t help it. When they lived together he was messy and that hasn’t changed. Which was evident with how long it took to clean and vacuum the old Chevy. Sam went to the store and got snacks and a candle. He made his bed, which is a mattress on the floor. A family through his church is gonna help him with a bed frame within the week!

Sam checked the time and hightailed to the truck. He's gonna get there late if he doesn't hurry. He zipped to the airport in record time, and avoided getting lost in the labyrinth of the parking garage. He parked and jogged to arrivals. Once stationed Sam unfolded the cardboard, from one of his many boxes, with Mercedes’ name. There's also picture cutouts of her from McKinley days and a few professional shots from her most recent tour. Sam bounced excitedly as he waited to see one of his best friends and the woman he’s forever crazy about.

What's something that makes you smile anytime you think of it?

Despite the fact that we lost. The time the Glee Club went to New York. It was probably one of my favourite trips we took as a club, I'll never forget it.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

5 years? Hopefully coming off of another tour, maybe with a Grammy under my belt. I'd like to be married too, maybe with a kid? Or at the very least engaged.

But the Grammy's non-negotiable.

I'm sure he will, you know how that boy is with food. Yeah I will be, I'm excited to see my family again too. Babe you defintiely need to share them on TikTok, you've got too much talent not to do that. Look at those chicks that wrote music to Bridgerton, they were a sensation. Even if they did mess it up.

Oh, I'm sure he'll run to get us those fries the second he hears I've never tried them. I'm getting pretty excited to try them now, though. And speaking of Sam, a little birdie told me you'll be in Lima for a few days. Have a safe trip and have fun! Yes, let's do this! I've actually been considering sharing some songs and/or covers on TikTok, but posting a few songs about food with you would be much more fun!

Sam: Where do you want to go for dinner? Breadstix is always an option if you're down! Sam: I cleaned my truck. Even washed it! I can't control how old it looks but my dad kept it in great running shape before gifting it to me when I moved back.

You gotta admit that was cool to see. When you go on your next tour I outta talk to the tour manager and tell them about it. They can probably put a sweet hologram or something of you up there too! What’s wrong with eating a whole box of cereal? It never fails to make me a little sleepy from the sugar come down. I’ll look for it on streaming!

I try to be a good guy and I do the best impressions around… Seems like I’m a total package but I’m lacking in the awesome girlfriend department to complete it. Neither did I with my walking around shirtless and trying to kiss up on you any chance I got.
