I have shifted a lot on this page. And yes, could I make a new blog? Yes, yes, I could. But I have enjoyed the evolution since I started to blog here. I plan on shifting more towards my pagan, witchy, and tarot interests. Yes, I do want to like, post, and reblog some Tom Sturridge works posts, but that is not my main focus anymore. Maybe I will write more fan fiction, but we will see.

I want to see if I can start some devotee blog posts to Hades, Persephone, Morpheus, and Jareth - The Goblin King. My experience with them, resources, and how you could work with them if you so choose to.

Okay, I have watched Sandman S2 part 1 a couple times now, and Dream is so Sleep Token coded... but not only that... maybe it is my headcanon, but I believe Sleep is Dream as per the Sleep Token lore. Or at least the Nightmare aspect of him. Though I would say that in the perspective of S2 of Sandman, Vessel's POV is Dream's. Both headcanons work, Sandman lore Vessel is Dream, Sleep Token lore Sleep is Dream in his Nightmare aspect.

Please, please, please, I am dying for fan artists out there to draw, paint, all of the above with Dream as Sleep with Vessel as himself. But also for the Sandman fans I see Hob Gadling as Vessel too... so maybe some fan artists could do Hob as Vessel with Dream as Sleep? And then if ya'll wanna go super niche, the Like Minds fandom with Nigel Colbie as Dream/Sleep and Alex Forbes as Vessel... like the fan art ideas are endless... lolz, Endless... I would draw it except I am not that good of a visual artist.

Also, fan fiction writers? Please please. Sleep Token × Sandman crossover? Or Sleep Token x Like Minds? I'd read it.

Yes, I have shifted my profile, a lot... I can't go into why, but just know it is for proven valid reasons.

So, I had a thought... what if Sleep is the dark part of Dream of the Endless that maybe got severed when he got captured by Rodrick... what if Vessel is Hob Gadling... yeah, yeah, I know how much of a big ol' fluffy teddy bear Hob is and how shaven Vessel is... but fan fic gurlies... come on, it's in the music...

Yes, I know there is a clear lore to Sleep Token, I get that. But what if it is even more in line with the deity of Hyponos, the Onerios, the King of Nightmares? Femme, or not, as we all know that Dream shapeshifts, I feel like it works. I would love to see Dreamling fan fiction gurlies to get on the Sleep Token bandwagon and just write some deep dark sexy shit with it.

Fan art would be amazing too, please! I want Hob/Vessel x Dream/Sleep art so bad 😫🫠

EDIT: I realize that the toxicity fits more with maybe Alex and Nigel from Like Minds... so like Nigel as Dream as Sleep? And the Alex as Hob as Vessel? Like it fits...

How very depressing that Neil Gaiman had trended not even a tiny bit for demonstrating what a fucking horrific person he is.

As a reminder, he's suing Caroline Wallner, one of his accusers, for breaking her NDA. Not for libel. He's saying she shouldn't have told anyone about it, not that she lied.

He doesn't need the money. He's risking the Streisand effect. He is punishing Caroline, he's trying to intimidate other victims who have signed NDAs to scare them into continued silence.

He is no friend to women, to the LGBTQIA+ community, to anyone quite frankly unless he thinks they are of value to him.

Share the story. Put it on Facebook and bluesky and whatever else you're on. Make it clear what a horrifying person he is. Tell your friends. He's paying Edendale a fortune to try and cover this up. Make this hard for him. Make it cost him money.

Started reading this book yesterday and it's really good so far. It is more historical study than magical study, at least it is where I am right now in the text.

Update and Shift

I can't go into details as to why, but I am shifting away from Tom Sturridge content and promoting his work. I have my reasons, though I will not be sharing them publicly, and likely I will not privately either, so don't ask.

I may every once and a while post or repost something about Willie, or Jake or François as they are my favorite of the characters he has portrayed, the ones I feel so strongly about that I have tattoo tributes to them. I may also mention Dream from time to time, and maybe Nigel or Young Carl... but I really doubt I will be engaging in Tom content much at all for the most part.

I want to thank everyone who has connected with me over the past few years because of our mutual love for Tom. I do still love him... but it is much more complicated now and I need to step away.

I will keep my pinned post as my Willie fanfic master post so people can easily find it.

I am shifting and I need to figure out what that looks like.

Rewatching Benny & Joon for the first time in like... 20+ years... and there is no way Tom Sturridge did not watch this film and then not base Will Donner on... both Sam and Joon? Like both of them combined....

“Sandman got cancelled because of Neil”

No the writings been on the wall since production for season two started hell even before that. Netflix very nearly did not give the show a season two to begin with. And all the photos that have come out during filming have made it more and more obvious they were cutting the fat and rushing through the story to complete dreams arc.

We’re not getting most of the one off stories or even a game of you. If the story doesn’t heavily feature dream and his story it’s most likely been cut.

Don’t give Netflix any credit here. They didn’t cancel the show because Neil is a sexual predator they cancelled it because they’re Netflix and if a show doesn’t make them insane money it gets the can no matter how successful it was.

Hey, Sand Fam, I am seeing a lot of you blaming NG for the end of this series, and whereas I do think Netflix and the Sandman cast and crew are actively distancing themselves now from NG, I don't think NG is the reason Sandman is ending.

Please remember it took forever for Netflix to greenlight us even getting more or the series. They were likely going to axe it in the first place but the showrunners likely negotiated saying they had plans for a script that would end the series and *THAT* is likely what got us just one more season. That is speculation, that is a guess, but if you logically look at how S2 was handled from the start, then the end of the series was always the plan. Didn't they also call it Sandman 2 and say we are just getting more episodes here and there at the beginning of when S2 was first announced? Like it wasn't even called Season 2...

Also, with the leaked bts photos, of Lyta, the Fates and Gilbert... isn't that all stuff that is end of the comic series stuff that got filmed? And when those photos came out, I don't remember the exact date, but wasn't it just before the NG stuff came out and or literally just after it? Do you think they scrambled to write a quick script, get a location that quickly and get costumes and all that cuz they were all "Oh no, NG is a fucking creep, better end the show now"? No. Filming anything in general takes time and careful planning. It was always the plan guys.

The thing that likely did get affected by NG is how Geeked Week was handled. The bts footage and such was edited in a way to not mention NG at all. I do think that was on purpose.

The other reason I think ending the show was planned is because S2 has to do with Dream's story and his story alone. Writing a whole script like that takes time and planning. And why I think it was always the plan is because of interviews of Tom Sturridge for S1. He was abhorrent to the idea of The Sandman being only about Dream, and the idea of a movie because, if I remember Tom correctly, "how can you take just one story from The Sandman and make a film about that? The Sandman is a story about stories, not just one guy." Not the exact quote, but you get my point. S2 was always supposed to be the end because they scrapped the whole idea of making it a story about stories and wrote a *WHOLE SEASON OF A SCRIPT* about Dream instead. That was planned.

The end was always the plan. NG is not to blame for this.

The actors and crew now have room to work on bigger and better projects and The Sandman is on their resume, and regardless of NG, that will still look good for them because obviously they are not NG and they did not condone what NG did, so they will not and should not be found culpable for NG's actions at all, therefore will find bigger and better work in the future.

This is not the end of the world, this is the Death card in tarot; something must die for something new and better to be born.

The Fandom lives, the Sand Fam thrives, we are taking back the power of the work from NG and making it beautiful for us and us alone. Don't forget that. This is for us. This is will never be for NG ever again.

My ending thought is this: One of my favorite things about Star Wars: The Last Jedi is Luke's conversation with Yoda. (No, I will not be having debates about how good or bad the film is...) And Yoda talks about the lesson of failure is the greatest lesson to learn and to pass on. Not to ensure the failure of others but to teach them how to handle failure and how to grow past the failure. The last thing Yoda says to Luke that gets me to tear up every time is this; "We are what they grow beyond". And that is where I am taking my love for The Sandman and this whole Fandom. We have grown beyond NG and it is ours now. We have grown beyond him, take comfort in that.

Watched the full 20 minute Making of of Like Minds on YouTube and I have come to the conclusion that the director/writer of the flim/script, Gregory, is Alex. He is in denial about who is actually the mastermind in the battle of wills, that Gregory is happening between Alex and Nigel.

Gregory really thinks both boys are psychopaths, both trying to one up one another, take over each other's minds... but I don't think that's true at all. Alex presents himself as the audience character, but in fact Alex is the director.

Nigel, I would say, is more the audience, trying to mind our own business and do our own thing, but then we have Alex, the director that comes in saying, hey you pay attention to me... all the while Alex is in denial about core truths about himself.

The film is very homoerotic, but the director and Alex seem to be in denial about that. Nigel is not in denial, he is just himself.

Alex is right though, Nigel did get too close. So close that Nigel tried to help by embalming and burying his parents for Alex. It was a thing he could do and so he did it for Alex. If the film is homoerotic, Alex has a fuck ton of internalized homophobia.

Alex is the mostly fucked up one and Nigel is only a little fucked up, but not to the extremes that Alex said he was? I took 40 pages of notes and took 5 hours to watch the film in order to take those notes... I'm not crazy, right? I mean I am crazy, but my analysis isn't crazy... right?
