While I do like the angst of the headcanon of Loki having scars/some form of a brand from his time with Thanos, and I do like fics about Thor seeing those scars and finding out the truth, the more-canon idea that Thanos did horrendous things to him, consistently, and yet Loki healed from all of it in short time, his skin smooth as if it never happened, is haunting: he has no proof. He has no evidence of what was done to him, he cannot seek justice, he has to wake up from the horrors his mind reminds him of in his sleep and look at his perfect, unharmed body, no validation of the terror he went through.

And only the constant pain in his back (heavily implied in canon btw) reminds him that the horrors have been real. Only one permanent mark, but the one that cannot be seen. Only he will ever know what Thanos did to him.

And isn't it a twisted tragedy all on its own.
