author’s note: i wanted to write a “meet the parents” type fic for beckett meeting mc’s parents but then it turned into a pend pals/holiday fic. i didn’t particularly want to use the default mc name for this fic, even though that’s what i usually do, so hopefully the name i chose here fits. also, i suck at coming up with names of characters that didn’t have one in canon. i hope you enjoy!

copyright: all characters owned by pixelberry studios. series/pairing: the elementalists – beckett harrington x f!mc (celeste russell); minor f!atlas x shreya rating/warnings: 13+; kissing and fluff word count: 2.1k based on/prompt: i started working on this two months ago in anticipation of @teappreciationweek! the title is based on the phrase that “friends are the sunshine of life.” summary: celeste is excited to introduce beckett to all of her parental figures over the holidays and has a surprise in store for atlas. guess which parent makes beckett the most nervous?

the sunshine of life

celeste squeezed beckett’s hand reassuringly. her boyfriend was understandably nervous since today they were meeting her parents, definitely plural. she reached up and poked the frown lines appearing between beckett’s eyebrows, giggling as he appeared startled before softening as he looked at her.

“they’re going to love you, beckett. you have nothing to be nervous about. unlike your parents, who clearly did not like me,” celeste said, muttering the last part to herself.

she felt beckett wrap an arm around her waist and pull her close. “that wasn’t about you, i promise.”

mod gamechoices-player: Second fav: Beckett, Because he's very different, he's smart and nerdy but has his adventure moments, he's so perfect, and he's got this enemies-to-lovers that I love.

mod robintora: i have to go with griffin. love his character so much, so caring, skilled and knowledgeable. Plus team players to lovers aaah💕💕💕

mod stardustmountain: If we weren't automatically a sun-att, I would like to be attuned to blood and fire 👀 Blood attunement seems super interesting 👁️👁️ and fire is my main 🔥🔥

mod gamechoices-player: 2 attunements besides sun: wood and fire

mod robintora : metal and moon! both elements give this cool and breezy feeling💙🌛 and atlas has it too!

Question for the mods: If you were given a chance, what would you like to change in TE series and why?

mod stardustmountain: Add te book 3 😭

mod gamechoices-player: Do some secondary as LIs. A premium scene to meet our father. Meet the other owners of the elements, and a third book.

mod robintora: ^^ what they said! also id like to adjust li scenes ( even if it meant cutting Beckett's scenes). Judge me not, but I'd like to erase the options for flirting with kane because. it. creeped. me. out. please no. and I'd also like to meet MC's foster parents!

Atlas: I love their dedication towards their twin so much. The lengths they went to to protect them,, oh my God. They may not show their emotions all the time but we all know that they loved their twin soo much!

Beckett: well, he's the love of my life. Grumpy nerd with a soft spot for mc, learning advanced magick to protect them, putting himself in between kane and mc to protect mc, their dedication towards magick and studies. the way he expresses his feelings for mc, the words he says.. i just.. love him so much i can't-

also may i mention "boundless affection" he has for mc.

mod stardustmountain: Teaw was so enjoyable! Everyone did amazing we were so lucky and fortunate to see all the talent ❤️

mod jaxsmutsuo: YES every day was beautiful and I felt emotional seeing your response, but I'm not going to lie, my fave day was double trouble (day 1). i just love them so much aaaaah😍

how do you think the TE story should end?

mod stardustmountain: Te story should have ended by the pend pals graduating and promising that they will see each other again💗

mod jaxsmutsuo: mix of the above 2! for aro-ace players i wanna see them happily single and bonding with their foster fam and theia! for non aro-ace, i would looove a marriage, especially with aster, the wood nymph traditions and all. and yeah before all this, i wanna see griffin graduate and griffin romancing mc be like: THAT'S MY BOYFRIEND/FRIEND! at mc and pend pals graduation, i would love griffin to express joy in the same manner. and i want to see the other lis being teary eyed at MC's graduation. and atlas expressing joy in their grumpy manner. (they're proud of mc nevertheless)

The Elementalists.

QUICK EXPLANATION!: in this story, Beckett never broke through the wards at the their Theif game after Ellie’s disappearance and she was never found. They don’t know if she is dead of alive and this is Beckett’s experience dealing with it.

Warnings: tinyyy angst, mention of death, kidnapping.

A/N: This was super fun!! It’s not as dark as it looks I promise.

Beckett’s usual stoic self was a crumbling mess. The pain that took over his heart was always too much, the thought of her smile, her laugh, and just her being taken away from him forever nearly broke him into a million peices.

He arrives home after another class without her and just stares at himself in the mirror. Running a hand through his hair he looks down at the Pend Pals bracelet their friend group wore. He remembers her putting it on for him because he slipped up doing it the first time but she didn’t seem to mind at all.

He sits down unbuttoning his shirt and kicking off his shoes before laying face up on his bed with his hands laying softly on his chest. His eyes flutter close from exhaustion and black surrounds his gaze while his shoulders relax more and more...

And then suddenly...

The sound of birds chirping fills Beckett’s ears and the smell of a fresh breeze hits his nostrils as that familiar feeling of peace and comfort eases its way through him. The grass around him flows with the wind ushering all his stress away. He had felt all this before.

This feeling never lasted to long. He used to hate it, it made him feel out of control which was something he wasn’t used to. All this peace and love that filled him by being there was her.

He squeezes his eyes shut not wanting it to end but feels a soft, delicate hand run through his hair and his eyes flew open locking his smoky eyes with her emerald green ones and she greets him with a warm smile.

“Wh-E- Ellie?” He choked out just staring up at her in disbelief. She chuckles before speaking.

“Hi nerd, how’s it hanging?” She laughed at his expression.

That smile... he thought as he continued to stare at her.

“Wait, Ellie, are you okay? Where are you?! a-are you...?” He didn’t need to finish the last part as she shook her head.

“I’m not dead Beck, I’m inside your head right now. This is a dream.” She assured him.

“Wait, a dream? How are you inside my dream? I didn’t think you could do that.” He asked sitting up and resting his back on the tree they where under. She lets out a sigh. “I’m using my presence to call out to you. I’m not sure how long it will last.” She quickly explained before resting her head on his shoulder.

“Are you okay?!” Beckett asked looking down at her.

Ellie sighed and it took a few seconds for her to reply. “Yes, and no.” She finally said.

“What do you mean yes and no? That’s not a clear answer!” His voice was laced with concern.

“I’m not quite sure where I am, all I know is that nobody is consistently hurting me. I do have a gash on my leg and a few scrapes but those were from Mr. Handlebar Mustache.”

“Kane?!”

“Are you really that surprised?” She said quirking an eyebrow at him.

Beckett just stared at her, unsure of how he was talking to her and if she was alright. She doesn’t seem worried. And her telling him she’s alive and not hurt felt like a heavy concern lifting off his shoulders. After he got back he would have to tell the others, this would get them a step closer to finding her and getting his ray of sunshine back.

After a couple more seconds of looking down at her he raps his arms around her and kisses the top of her head with a sigh. I miss this.

“As long as your safe, Atlas and Swan are trying their hardest to find a connection that will hopefully find you. I wish I could do more to help but I can’t think of anything...” he admits.

“It’s alright, I’ve been practicing my presence while I’m stuck but it’s a lot harder now that I’m so far away from you all. Kane said I was ‘far from Pendergast’ but I just don’t know how far that is...”

A bird chirps in the distance as Ellie melts into Beckett, reminding herself of his warmth and appreciating it while she still can.

She had no idea where she was, and that scared her. She wished she even had the smallest idea as to what was happening. Beckett’s arms made her feel safe and... loved.

“I miss this.” She says with a sigh following after. Beckett hugs her tighter into his side.

“Me too.” He smiled down at her.

I love this girl so much. I’ll do everything I can to find her even if it kills me.

His own thoughts consumed him immediately.

I love her...

He continues to stare down at her and she lifts her head from his shoulder to look at him.

“Everything ok? You look a bit shocked there Beckett.” Her voice was laced with confusion as he shook his head to snap out of it.

He feels tired, like the dream would be ending.

When will I see her again? If at all...

That crushing feeling of pain and guilt washed over him once again.

He cupped her cheek, pressing her forehead against his softly. He stares into her eyes and she smiles which gives him butterflies. She runs a hand through his hair and that tired feeling from before grew.

“Do you have to leave?” She asks softly noticing his droopy eyes.

“I-I think.” He raps his arms around her waist and she frowns.

“Beckett.”

“..yes?”

“Don’t Wake Up.” Her eyes looked desperate as she spoke. Beckett knew he had to tell her what had been weighing on his mind for as long as last year.

“I- Ellie, I uhm.. I love-“ he begins but Ellie fades away in an instance.

“What? Ellie? Where are you!” He looks around and finds his own visions darkening, making everything around him blurry.

Before he knew it, black had surrounded his vision and he heard a strange noise.

“Harrington!!!” Atlas was banging on his door.

He jolted awake at the intrusion and felt a pain in his chest. I didn’t tell her.

“Helllooo?!” The banging continued and Beckett through on some sweatpants and a shirt, still dizzy and confused.

He walks up to the door and opens it to find the Pend Pals and the Dean standing outside his door.

“Get dressed.”

“Why? What’s happening?”

“We found Ellie.”
