Do betas have something for anxiety relief like kneeling?

It seems like both omegas and alphas depend on them to calm them down that's gotta be tiring.

Not really, just because betas are sort of genetically less likely to experience strong emotions for extended periods of time. They still can feel anxiety or anger or other strong emotions, but they're less likely to last, and they're less likely to lead with those emotions.

For example, way back in chapter 2 or 3 (I literally cannot remember to save my soul rn) Gaz and reader are walking to the barracks, and some group of soldiers make a comment. I don't think I even specifically put in what was said because Gaz's immediate reaction is just "ignore them" because even though he was probably pissed at them for speaking that way about an omega, he's not going to have that drive to act on that anger because betas are the level-headed ones. They're the mediators and the best at things like negotiation and conflict management. It's just easier for them to come down from those emotions because biologically they've had to.

Meanwhile, when Ghost and reader have their moment with Corporal Allen, we see Ghost immediately responds with anger, which triggers the reader to respond with anger as well. Omegas could respond to an alpha's emotions or they might get scared or start distressing. Both alphas and omegas are sort of slave to their emotions because they have to be. Alphas have to be naturally more aggressive because they have packs to defend and take care of (in the modern world its a bit less needed, but in the past of course it was vital to a pack's survival) and omegas are naturally predisposed to being vulnerable so they have things like distressing or, if they're pushed far enough, anger, to keep them safe.

That's kind of where the beta comes in and why they're so important to packs, especially larger ones. Betas can feel those emotions, but they're less likely to just run headfirst into a fight. Of course, experienced and trained alphas can do the same and be taught to think over those naturally strong emotions (*wink wink* Price) but they're still never going to be quite as, shall we say chill, as a beta.

That being said, betas still enjoy a good cuddle and being around their pack, and really that's the stress relief they need. Seeing their pack in harmony and peace, and a good cuddle sesh, and they're good lol. 💚

honestly i understand because as fans, we wanna see more of what isn't actually there. we want to create content for "what could've been" scenarios and that's totally valid. i do that too with bruce and jason despite the obvious abusive relationship.

my only issue is when people try to play it off as canon or make it so that jason is always the villain in the situation. in most fics, he's always guilt tripped by alfred into rejoining a family that's in no way good for him. or he's treated like a devil incarnate in comparison to sweet little baby tim. that's when it becomes annoying because alfred is in no way innocent-- he played a large part in sullying jason's robin legacy. tim also was so questionable towards a dead child. these major things are ignored in fanon content to promote the idea that jason is a horrible, evil human being who has no right to be in their family but maybe he can work his way to it by begging us for forgiveness.

Team Leader's speaking, but Caretaker's eyes are focused on Whumpee instead- the way they're stood, shifting uncomfortably on their feet, complexion far paler than it ought to be. They aren't doing well. It's painfully obvious.

Caretaker should have said something sooner. They should have pulled Team Leader aside before this whole meeting started, before the whole team was gathered as an audience for Whumpee's slow descent in health. They should have-

Whumpee shifts on their feet again, except this time a shaking hand comes up to swipe at the perspiration gathering on their forehead. Somehow, they've grown even paler in the last few seconds. They blink quickly, evidently trying to shake the uneasy sensation within them, but it doesn't appear to do much at all.

"Whumpee, are you listening?" Team Leader's voice suddenly grows sterner, their explanation interrupted.

Whumpee blinks again. Sniffs. Clears their throat. "I- yes... sorry, Team Leader."

"Thank you. Now, as I was saying..."

Caretaker directs a sympathetic glance towards Whumpee, hoping perhaps they'll finally own up to their own indisposition and excuse themselves. Or at least understand that somebody out there is looking out for them, and knows they're not feeling great.

Whumpee doesn't acknowledge the look, though. In fact, they're not acknowledging anything anymore. A slight glaze has entered their eyes, and they feebly reach out towards a nearby surface for support. Nobody notices except Caretaker. Nobody's even looking at them other than Caretaker.

When Whumpee takes a deep breath, blinking quickly for the third or fourth time, it doesn't take a genius to know what's about to happen. Caretaker at last moves from their position, hurrying forward just as Whumpee's eyes roll back in their head and everything goes limp. The exclamations of concern and shock from the others barely even register to them as they lower whumpee to the ground, already fumbling to undo the tightly buttoned collar soaked through with sweat.

"It's alright, Whumpee. It's okay. You're alright."

From somewhere in the background, Team Leader is swearing. "Shit. I had no idea. I didn't- I didn't think-"

Caretaker can't help the way their brow furrows with frustration as they gently roll Whumpee onto their side.

Of course. Nobody ever thinks when it comes to Whumpee.

Hi! I have no idea if your okay with random requests but I just have some Sanders Sides ideas that I think would look adorable in art form. The ships are Prinxiety, Mociet and Intrulogical.

Prinxiety: bat Virgil. This has two different flavours; Virgil having bat wings he likes to wrap around Roman during cuddle sessions all protective like or Virgil in a tiny bat form just hiding in Roman's shirt, just his head poking out looking at Roman as the prince just stares in absolute awe.

Mociet: Patton and Janus just making breakfast together, no huss no fuss, one's cooking eggs and bacon while the other makes sets out the drinks or makes some toast or something. Basically just domestic Mociet. Either that or Janus being a flirty little mischif while dressed like a goth Lady Dimitrescu (with the hight to match) and Patton being flustard as hell, you choose.

Intrulogical: I love the idea of Remus making Logan gifts hidden inside organs Logan can dissect. Like Remus just gives Logan a deer heart to dissect and when Logan does he finds a book shaped locket with both their pictures or some heartfelt message. Feel free to draw the aftermath if your not comfortable drawing a dissected heart.

It's fine if you don't wanna do this, I just feel like it's be adorable and your art is great!

Oughgh im going mental over the truth virus post. How would the DAs react initially? How would they react to finding out about the virus? Can sunbite's mindset be changed? These are questions that don't particularly need an answer but boy are they gonna be doing laps in my brain

Do you think Gortash struggled with intimacy and affection at all because of his parents' abandonment? Like Durge's admiration of him, I wonder if he ever struggled to let them in, or conversely maybe got clingy/possessive.

Honestly I think it was a heavy mix of both. Gortash just objectively never experienced safety and tenderness. He never learned to be vulnerable. If anything, I think he taught himself to spot vulnerability in others and see it as a weakness he can easily manipulate. After HoH, he never had relationships that went much deeper than the surface. He could trust himself and his God, everyone else was either a sheep or an obstacle.

Until Durge, of course. Their situations were so similar but unique, to the point he found a person he could actually relate to. Someone who could match his wits and his brutality. Someone he could call an equal.

I bet it took so much time to get there though. He was used to the being alone, fending for himself and not giving half a shit about everyone else. He physically couldn't open up to Durge, even if they reached a point where he wanted to.

I think his first spot of vulnerability was the first time they were drinking together. Being drunk was the only way he could bring himself to speak honestly and drop the mask he wears all the time. It hurt, but the reward was so much better, as Durge in turn opened up to him. And his first thought wasn't even how to use that information against them; no, he felt real emotions. Maybe pity. Maybe empathy. Maybe that was the first time he held someone's hand without an ulterior motive. Kissed someone without going after something of theirs.

But my god, once it happened, it all clicked for him. Suddenly he feels this intense need to keep Durge close, to keep them safe, to protect them. He didn't want to lose them. Not like he's lost so many things. Perhaps he thought this was his gift for following Bane so closely. His holy partner, made just right to fit him. And by god, he'd do everything in his power to keep that feeling of trust and vulnerability because he's never felt this way before and he was NOT going to fucking waste it.

He gets jealous so easily, suddenly he wants to involve himself in Bhaal's temple to see what his dearest is up to and whether he approves or not, he wants to be touching Durge always, make sure they're there, just for him. He wants and needs to know everything about them, at all times. It's a borderline obsession, but wouldn't you be obsessed with the first person that made you feel safe and happy after a lifetime of misery and lies?

Anyway you can imagine just how devastated he was when Durge left inexplicably. He felt betrayed and hurt, in a way no one has left him because no one else managed to make him feel that way. The people he cared for most abandoned him yet again. How can one not lose faith in the world after that?

To avoid repetition of Karai in the narrative, I think it’d be cute if Venus actually grew up with the turtles and was never separated from them? This would mean she’d likely have Miwa’s tessen (aa sorry April!!!) but she’d also still be way more spiritually focused than the boys like usual. I wanted to draw her working with April on her psychic powers during the farmhouse arc for this too, also her interacting with Karai and also something for her and Leo’s dynamic but I realised quickly if I kept drawing her I wouldn’t get to the other asks!! AHA so those sketches will have to wait 💚

he rolls his eyes and says, "You're hilarious." but absolutely does not touch it. that sticker stays on the chest of his suit all day. he smiles to himself when he catches the glint of it in the mirror. he knows it's a silly little thing, but it's a silly little thing you did because you love him, and he likes that tangible reminder.
