Song of Ghosts

I’m standing where you used to be

Everything still looks the same

Only now I’m talking to ghosts of people I no longer see

Whispering promises as you forget my name

A tear hits the ground

Fallen, it’s indistinguishable from the rain

Somehow your voice is the clearest sound

And I have to wonder, am I still sane?

The songs we sang echo in my head

Nearer and nearer you sound, as if to taunt me

I sing out, in hopes to be lead

But just as I get close you fade away, as if to haunt me

The Heart of Emotion

you feel so deeply

so profoudly that all

your body aches

overwhealmed with emotion

but you're scared

hesatent to name it

for how will they react

when they learn

~~~

cries of "monster"

ringing in your ears

said by no one but yourself

a pre-emptive christening

~~~

and when at last you name

that emotion, so deep

within yourself that one might not know

where it ended and you began

~~~

you call it "love"

out of fear

of feeling anything else

quite that wholy

~~~

and so it becomes love

for everything, and anything

spilling out upon those closest

like a tap left forgotten

I sent you that song

The one one I listen to when the world is wrong

The one I feel encapsulates every part of you

I said it was fun to listen to

But it’s so much more

It’s my heart and soul

It’s you, in a crown

Daring the world to hold you down

And no matter how far you roam

Fate came to me in a dream

The darkness I see before me

Is rivaled only by my black heart

The fire raging in my soul

Sunday is a day of prayer, of mourning

And I die slowly, desolately, each time I see you
