Song of Ghosts
I’m standing where you used to be
Everything still looks the same
Only now I’m talking to ghosts of people I no longer see
Whispering promises as you forget my name
~~~
A tear hits the ground
Fallen, it’s indistinguishable from the rain
Somehow your voice is the clearest sound
And I have to wonder, am I still sane?
~~~
The songs we sang echo in my head
Nearer and nearer you sound, as if to taunt me
I sing out, in hopes to be lead
But just as I get close you fade away, as if to haunt me

The Heart of Emotion
you feel so deeply
so profoudly that all
your body aches
overwhealmed with emotion
~~~
but you're scared
hesatent to name it
for how will they react
when they learn
~~~
cries of "monster"
ringing in your ears
said by no one but yourself
a pre-emptive christening
~~~
and when at last you name
that emotion, so deep
within yourself that one might not know
where it ended and you began
~~~
you call it "love"
out of fear
of feeling anything else
quite that wholy
~~~
and so it becomes love
for everything, and anything
spilling out upon those closest
like a tap left forgotten
Sing Along
I sent you that song
The one one I listen to when the world is wrong
The one I feel encapsulates every part of you
I said it was fun to listen to
~~~
But it’s so much more
It’s my heart and soul
It’s you, in a crown
Daring the world to hold you down
~~~
I hope one day you see that vision
That you find your calling, your mission
And no matter how far you roam
I hope you know you’ll always have a home
~~~
I can’t promise I’ll ever see you again
I can’t know that this isn’t the end
But I’ll keep playing this song
Hoping one day you’ll sing along

The Woods
The woods call me
Day after day my heart bleeds
Leaving, piece by piece
~~~
The winds know me
Little by little my soul screams
Begging, set me free
~~~
The fires see me
Inch by inch my feet flee
Running, the fire to meet
~~~
The seas love me
Wave by wave, my fate weaves
Crying, “Don’t you see?”
Friendship
Late night with friends
Knowing the happiness won’t end
Morning may come with new frights
But we’ll fight side-by-side
~~~
Time may lead us apart
But no matter how far
I may be across one hundred seas
These memories will stay with me ~~~
Maybe life will be kind
Maybe fate will be of one mind
We might meet one day
But if we do not, in my heart you will stay

Fate
Fate came to me in a dream
It circled round me, crooning
Promising not happiness
Never happiness, but life
~~~
Fate offered life
Full, painful, true
A life worth living
Leading to a death worth dying
~~~
Fate took my hand
Lead me to a dream
Let me feel it, see it, live it
Only to snatch it away again
~~~
Fate came to me on my deathbed
It cackled, knowing it had won
I merely smiled back
Knowing I’d be in that dream once more
The End
I never thought it would be like this
I never thought I’d care this much
I never thought you’d care back
But maybe this was always how it was going to be
~~~
Maybe it's the end
Maybe it’s a new beginning
Maybe it’s something in between
But life goes on
~~~
Life seemed slow as we grew
Life seemed fast as we died
Life seemed never ending until now
But now its different
~~~
Now we part ways
Now you continue living
Now I must die
But I hope you think of me when I’m gone
~~~
I hope you know how much you mean to me
I hope you hear the things unsaid
I hope you feel alive
Black Heart
The darkness I see before me
Is rivaled only by my black heart
The fire raging in my soul
Is reflected by the world around me
~~~
I see the damage wrought
Claws that were once hands
Take and take and take, when once they gave
Blood all around me
~~~
“Help me”
Spoken, shouted, whispered
Have I said it at all?
It doesn’t matter; no one hears
~~~
I fall back
Maybe with me gone they can mend
Maybe they’ll forget the hurt I caused
I pray it’s the right choice

Memories
Thunder and wind roaring
Candles alight
Spirits and voices soaring
I'll never forget that night
~~~
A new home
A new place to reside
Fields to roam
No rules to abide
~~~
A split made
Sides chosen
Loyalties fade
Friendships frozen
~~~
Time passes
Two become one
New hoards and masses
Alliances won
~~~
New ground covered
Battles fought
Ideals discovered
Innocence lost
~~~
Mountains climbed
Brought back to reality
Usefulness timed
Loss of my sanity
~~~
Freezing mornings
Attempted muder
Universal warnings
Screaming, you must have heard her
~~~
Months lost
Family found too late
Love, but at what cost
A month to determine my fate
Comfort You
I know I'm not the one you come to
When you’re in pain
When you need someone to comfort you
I'm not that vain
~~~
But I hope you know
I'll be there for you, always
That no matter who comes and goes
You're welcome in my doorway
~~~
Darling, you're more than a friend
You've been there for me when I was dying
Know I'll be there til the end
Or die trying
Thinking
Thinking
Of nights spent laughing
And forgetting our problems
Of the feeling of listening to music
And not having a care in the world
Of being held by someone close to you
And knowing the world can't touch you
Of dancing in the rain
~~~
Thinking
About how my days are numbered
But with you, that number is infinity
About how I’m bleeding out
But with you, it feels like heaven
About how there’s so much I still need to say
But with you, it's already said
About how you saved me
~~~
Thinking
Even though I should be sleeping
Because my thoughts are of you
Even though it’s foolish
Because you’ll never hear my thoughts
Even though it’s painful
Because my soul is yours for infinity
Even though I’m crying
~~~
Thinking
And my thoughts are all saying
I love you

My Love
Life is a gift
And some days
It feels anything but
~~~
I promise you it's true
Because I’m standing here
Next to you
~~~
No matter how far we go
Or how long its been
I know I’ll see you again
~~~
Mountains may be be between us
But that won’t matter
Because it’s you, it’s you my love
~~~
I would battle hell’s demons
And heaven’s angels
All for the chance to be with you again

I Love you
You and I
We haven’t always had the best time
We haven’t always always been ‘fine’
~~~
We’re running on borrowed luck
Hoping, praying we don’t get stuck
Find ourselves again in that rut
~~~
But you and me
On this one thing (at least) we can agree
That ‘i love you’ should be said with ease

the way of the sea
You see me, standing, my coat hiding my form
You find my eyes and know, I’m not just some delicate violet
I may be soft spoken but a knife needs no words
I smile sharply to warn you away
You shrug and think, ‘c’est la vie’
But now, I wonder if the fates did the right thing
If only you would look back, see me for who I am
You have taken my heart, and now its at the bottom of the sea
Sunday is a day of prayer, of mourning
And I die slowly, desolately, each time I see you
The truth hits with a resounding boom
