I hate hate HATE what the internet has done to mental health language. You don’t have intrusive thoughts about fucking McDonald’s for four hours Bethany, they’re about incest, rape, murder and all other kinds of disgusting things you don’t want. That’s why they’re called INTRUSIVE. They’re rapid and scary and horrible. You’re not “triggered” cause a moron on tiktok said something you don’t like, it’s when your PTSD recognised something that could be dangerous to you that’s similar to a traumatic event and shuts down to try and help you. It’s panic inducing and the worst feeling. Disassociation isn’t “zoning out.” For a bit in class, it’s walking around like an emotionless zombie because you can’t feel anything as a symptom of severe mental illness or trauma. Shut the fuck up!!!

i love watching bodycam videos and seeing criminals have A Moment(tm) and realize that this isnt worth it. this guy packing a glock and several extendo mags who was arrested with his child had that happen to him while getting a mom lecture from the female cop. criminals finally understanding that what theyre doing isnt worth the turmoil is just so refreshing. while genuine or not, i believe they have that mentality deep down. it just proves that people who make mistakes arent bad people. i wish people understood that sort of thing

I wish people understood that not self-harming for a while doesn’t necessarily mean I’m fine and I’m doing good. I’m tired of everyone thinking it works like this because it doesn’t. There could be different reasons why I didn’t self-harm for a while (for example not wanting to cause problems, not wanting to go for another trip to hospital, not wanting to be a disappointment to people around me..) and I hate that nobody understands that I actually put so much effort into resisting the urges that are ALWAYS there and that I’m not fucking okay just because I haven’t self-harmed.
