I've been reading fanfics since 2005 at least and there has definitely been a shift in the last decade. The influences of porn are extremely evident. Also, tags are practically irrelevant if I'm reading what's supposed to be a romance and out of nowhere one character slaps another during sex and it's presented as okay. No warning no nothing. That's how normalised violence and aggression have become in smut. Porn rots the brain.

I been contemplating this the past few days. How do I know if I’m depressed or just regularly sad and stuff. Is my problem actual laziness or do my other issues affect my productivity? what is this life that I’m leading really? 

Ughh I don’t even know how to explain what I’m feeling. Sometimes I think I’m just trying to find excuses why things don’t work out for me.

The fanfiction trope a/b/o

If you’re a radfem and read/write fanfiction please help.

To say I’m disgusted by this trope would be an understatement, but I can’t really put down in words why exactly.

Is it the fact that it’s basically a kink? Is it the hetreonormativity? 

Any good explanation?

Of course she does. Life ain’t easy when you’re a female. But hiding your boobs and going by boy’s name (another ridiculous concept) won’t help. Accept reality and work towards building your own confident in your place in this world. 

I’ve been away from the positive messages here but I’m going even stronger with my self-esteem. I just don’t care anymore. I’m a woman and I deserve the world. Who’s going to stop me?

I think I’ve always had this mindset that I come first and independence of thought and also I’ve been lucky with the way I was raised, that’s why most of the stories here on the female experience have been a case of “can’t relate” for me.

I kinda miss reading feminist discussions and theory but after logging in the past few days I see nothing has changed and people are still irrationally hateful towards radfems. When will the times change? instead of progress I see regression. 

Well, I also stopped reading newspapers and watching the news cause I’m tired of it. This country is going down the drain.

Life away from tumblr and the hate is nicer. Just ignore reality, it’s easier.

I’m glad I’m not on tumblr anymore. Seeing hatred towards you for multiple reasons (being female/Jewish/radfem/Israeli) is tiring. 

I commend all the people who take their time and effort to deal with this hate.
