Question for the community:
Does anyone here have any physical way they represent themselves in a sorta terrorpunk way (whatever that means to you) that you'd like to share?
For example (but not limited to):
Alterhuman gear
Pins/labels/patches on your clothing
Decorations on your mobility aids (or your mobility aids in general)
Jewellery
Makeup
Prosthetics (and modifications of prosthetics)
A specific way you hold yourself/behave
This is very broad because for a lot of people, simply existing as you are without trying to add anything more is pretty damn terrorpunk. So this discussion is open to those as well as people who actively add more onto themselves to be more visible.

unavoidable that you will be the villain in someone else's story. You will be painted in an unfavorable light. You will be the irredeemable one. and all of this will happen despite how nice you might usually be or how kind or how respectful or how warm. and you will just have to move on.

Reminder that telling a headmate to change an aspect of their identity or self to be "less problematic" is dehumanising as fuck. You can't go around doing that shit. It's entirely a you issue if you can't handle a headmate having an identity, they're not responsible for your issues or required to morph themselves into something you can swallow. Fictives, factives, people with number names, nonhumans who are "scary", headmates who are queer while the body isn't, headmates who are queer in a different way to the body, disabled headmates, etc.
You can't tell a singlet to change their entire name because you think it's problematic. You can't tell a singlet to hide their gender or sexuality because it "doesn't match" their body. You can't tell a singlet to change or hide their entire damn identity because you don't like it. You can't tell a singlet to stop having days where they experience disordered symptoms.
If the headmate in question is acting respectful, treat them with some god damn respect. It doesn't MATTER if they "match" the body. They're just as much of a person as any singlet is. You cannot convert someone into being something they're not.

please be kinder to the people around you who have neurotypes that "scare" you. i really don't think it's cool to see people claim to hate ableism, and then treat psychotic people, bipolar people, people with OCD, people with personality disorders, people with DID, traumatized people and so on like garbage. i don't really care if seeing someone who is actually, for real in the throes of a mental health crisis is frightening to you, it's far, far more frightening for them. compassion is key here. learning to get over our fears isn't just for people with anxiety, psychosis and trauma- it's for all of us. if someone is genuinely harming you, it's okay to seek help and to be alarmed. but if they are having symptoms that are not affecting you, it is not okay to treat them like garbage. treat everyone around you with respect, especially people with "scary" neurotypes and mental health conditions. no one deserves to be looked at with terror when they need help.

If only it were more socially acceptable to tell singlets “no, actually, plurality is not the most distressing part of my existence, you are”. I don’t think my life would be better without my bodymates, I think it would be better if I was treated like a full person instead of a symptom or spectacle. -Bert

i love nonbinary killjoys. i love nonbinary people who are bitter and stubborn and don't smile or laugh off exorsexism. i love enben who insist on their nonbinarity and make it the world's problem. i love enben who disrupt binary people's language and spaces and force them to acknowledge nonbinary existence on our own terms. i love nonbinary people who are cunts. who are scary. who are bitchy. who make binary people feel threatened. who don't water down their names or pronouns or gender to make it easier for others to swallow and who are demonized for that. i love enben who demand respect every single time that binary people receive it without question. i love enben who are tired of fighting and keep doing it anyways. i love enben who are their own first and last defense.
you can't imagine how much you matter to our community. you are on the front lines, demanding our rightful place in society, making sure we are not forgotten. carving out a space for the nonbinary people who can't put up that fight. even if you are never recognized or appreciated, it matters.

y'know it is possible to hold all the following to be true at once:
'abled' and 'neurotypical' are constructs, rather than a specific group of individuals. every human body and mind has a range of things it can do and cannot do, and the lines we draw between 'abled' and 'disabled' are largely arbitrary
some of us are Disabled and unavoidably so, and this has real and continued impacts to the way we live our lives. the things we aren't able to do are hard and unchangeable limits. disabled people like us have always existed and always will
people are rewarded for proximity to the abled standard, where the better you are at imitating 'abledness' the more you're rewarded, both implicitly and explicitly
the process of hiding your disability or attempting to imitate abledness is difficult, stressful, and has adverse impacts on a persons health and well-being, and it is certainly not the preferred way for a person to have to live their entire life
and we have to get better at letting all of these truths sit side by side without falling into the pit-falls of "everyone's a little bit disabled" vs "you have to be This disabled to count". also worth saying that all of this Must sit alongside a genuine commitment to listen to & respect & advocate alongside people with higher support needs

I’ll write a post on here that clearly says “I don’t believe anyone should ever be forcibly institutionalized in any circumstance” and someone will reblog and tag it “I totally agree, nobody should be incarcerated except my family member with BPD/schizophrenia/*insert stigmatized diagnosis here*, sometimes people just need to be locked away for their own good” and I’m like no…you don’t totally agree & I don’t think you understand…I mean that all people deserve bodily autonomy, including the people you’ve been conditioned to believe are the most scary, inconvenient, and burdensome
#people need to get better about this shit#they keep doing it to us too#“people who are xyz deserve good things” “actually people with npd” SHUT UP#rb#terrorpunk vibes#disability related#neurodivergent related#merlin (xe/he/they)

for no reason whatsoever here’s a reminder that if you consider yourself a leftist/punk/abolitionist/anarchist/radical in any sort of way and get called into jury duty, you are to become the most square person on earth during the jury questionnaire!!!
don’t be that guy who says fuck the police in the jury questionnaire! that just gets you sent home! if you want to generate change, interact with the case and use your jury vote for good! ESPECIALLY if it’s a high profile case!

Can I have everyone’s attention please? Especially Australians
Sign Petition EN7163 - Asylum for Gender and Sexual Minorities from the United States
There is a petition imploring the Australian government to take in LGBTQIA+ refugees from the USA. Given the rapidly worsening political situation over there, I want to at least give this a go. I don’t have any illusions that it will get through to the people that need to see it but I want to try anyway.
The petition closes in 8 days; if you aren’t Australian, please do me a solid and pass this around. Reblog this if you can. Thank you.

the rapid disintegration of rainbow capitalism pretty much encapsulates the problem with rainbow capitalism in the first place: it is and always was performative fair-weather allyship that evaporated in the face of any real political pressure

I DESPERATELY needed someone to tell me this as I grew up in leftist online spaces. So now I am going to tell YOU:
If you
Check what you sent over and over to make sure you didn’t say a slur instead of “hello how are you”
Fear that someone will find you thinking not-leftist-enough thoughts and will call you out and ruin you
Feel you have to make your intentions clear and over-explain your actions
Find yourself consistently resisting the urge to engage in reassurance-seeking WRT being a good enough ally to marginalized people
Stay up late endlessly debating political ethics in your head
Have a set of actions that you take after discovering you made a morally wrong decision so that you can atone, which you rely on for reassurance that you are not a bad person
Would rather not make a decision at all than make a decision that is the lesser of two evils, but is not morally pure
then I am gently, but firmly, requesting that you look into moral scrupulosity OCD.
#these can stem from other things but always good to do some introspection anyhow#rb#terrorpunk vibes#shrapnel (he/him)
