So, the candle technique isn't very reliable (if at all) mainly because stuff like that can easily happen because of a gust of wind or a fan that might be on in the room, BUT!!! no matter what technique you do, you always want to be as respectful as possible, these are gods we are talking to, for what they do for us (if you ask them) they deserve the respect.
