so this blog has been inactive for a long while but I did gain some followers and have a ton of requests still in my inbox and i really am sorry to all of you who wanted and expected me to write your suggestions, as i fully intended to.

but i think this blog is officially abandoned, for now. i haven't had the motivation to write anything in a long time and some personal stuff is going on at the moment and i figured i should officially make a post and address that, yeah, this blog is basically over.

some day i very well may come back and start writing again, and then i may fulfill all of your wonderful asks. but its also entirely likely that this will be my last post. this blog will not be deleted and i will not be leaving tumblr, as i have other blogs i will still use, but for now at least, this is where my posting here ends.

goodbye to everyone who enjoyed my writing, and i sincerely hope i find motivation to continue someday.

Fluffy Scout finding an injured animal and being an expert on caring for them? Also the animal becomes the Team mascot?

OOOOOO! Okay- I'm gonna pick a lesser prairie chicken! Which look like this!

Scout loves animals.

We all know this. This man grew up with cats, dogs, a bird or two. He's had 'em all and he loves animals.

I like to think he volunteers at animal shelters whenever he goes back home.

Anyway-

So Scout's out on his morning run, and he's on his way back to the base. It's hot, he's sweaty, and Scout wants nothing more than to get back into the air conditioned base.

Until he hears some weak chirps

Of course, he can't ignore the weak sound so, despite how close he is to being back, he follows the sound.

After ten minutes of careful tip-toeing and listening he finds it.

A little prairie chicken... with a broken wing.

It tried to hop away, but the poor thing really couldn't get too far.

So Scout, a sucker for animals and ESPECIALLY animals in need, takes off his shirt, gently corrals the bird into a sort of baby-sling-shirt contraption. And then he gently carries it back to the base.

Of course, he can't really fix it by himself (he doesn't have the supplies) but you know who does?

Medic. Medic does, SO Scout takes the lil guy to Medic.

Medic is not amused.

He does NOT want some wild, potentially DISEASED, bird anywhere near his doves. So he just gives Scout the supplies and kicks him tf out.

So Scout, with his minimal experience taking care of injured animals decides to ask everyone else for help. But mostly Sniper.

Because Sniper could help. For sure.

And shockingly Sniper does help.

Once Scout and Sniper have the bird patched up, they decide make it a little home. But they don't have enough stuff.

So they ask everyone to help out.

The little prairie chicken gets silk blankets from spy, a lot of straw/bedding fluff from Soldier (Don't ask), a tiny house built by Engie, a little heater from Demo, several tiny pillows from Heavy, and the whole thing is decorated with stickers and paint by Pyro (It is actually horrifying to look at but don't tell him).

Even Medic chips in with feeding essentials.

Eventually though, the bird heals, and it's time to let it go

But it doesn't leave.

They try really hard (Read: they immediately let it stay because they love this silly bird) but this little chicken refuses to go.

So they keep it.

And finally, she gets a name

Penny.

The idea of the team not believing Scout has a S/O is so funny. Imagine he has a S/O who he’s long distance with, they can’t visit each other often but they’re always writing letters back and forth, and he talks about them constantly. This S/O’s existence is debatable at first so everyone goes “uh huh, sure Scout.” But Scout seems like he’s REALLY committing to the bit, its been months now and there’s still more letters. Maybe some of them start believing him, maybe not.

Then his S/O finally gets to visit him on base.

when you show up to the base, almost everyone is just GAWKING. basically the only ones who started believing scout before you showed up were engie and pyro. but like, most of them just cannot believe their eyes.

scout is notorious for fibbing to make himself look cooler, total chick/hunk repellant, probably never even had a partner, and everyone was pretty sure he was still stuck on miss pauling despite her repeated rejections.

but... you're real. scout somehow managed to get an actual partner, and they can see you, and you're saying hi and asking where scout is.

wow. okay. it's probably demo who leads you to his room. pulls you aside and is like hey don't mind all the staring, we just thought he was lying to us about you even existing

and. ough. not trying to start discourse or whatever but. blogs that refuse to write pyro dating hcs make me a tad uncomfortable because. gah i dunno. pyro is heavily implied to be non-binary through the gender mysteriousness and to have some kind of mental illness through viewing the world as something else and etc. and people refusing to do pyro dating hc when they will do all the other mercs feels. gross. and weird. to me. it's pretty high-key infantilization of mentally ill/non-binary people. i dunno.

together with both of them at the same time? it would be like a whirlwind

scout's a total doting sweetheart (sometimes to an annoying point, but you find it sweet) and medic's a deranged sweetheart (sometimes to a scary point, but you find it hot)

cuddles are always fun bc medic likes to big spoon and scout likes being held

so you get to be the meat in a big ol man sandwich at cuddlytimes :)

medic probably prefers handholding, back rubs, etc, other forms of physical affection, over cuddling

doesn't mean he doesn't like it! he loves cuddling. but he especially loves holding your hand more than anything else

meanwhile scouts a total fiend for a good snuggle, so it balances out

their favorite 'date' is staying home and watching tv/movies together

medic probably will be willing to do top surgery for you whenever you want, assuming you haven't already gotten it

usually he's very unethical about his surgeries but he tries to be decently sanitary whenever he operates on you because he really cares about you and doesn't want you to get like, a deadly infection or something

i feel like they both use pet names in pretty equal number?

medic would use mostly german ones

liebling, bärchen, spatz, hase, schatz

scout would use petnames not just a lot but CONSTANTLY

babycakes, honeypie, baby, babe, darling, sweetheart, sweetie, sweetiepie, hun, honey, honeybun, honeybee, cutie, cutiepie, etc. etc.

you're barely ever called your name with them because it's always sweet little terms of endearment

probably also some little nickname versions of your name, too
