“You do get used to it. I’ve visited places where there’s a lot of open space and I go absolutely crazy, I can’t not be surrounded by a city environment. The problem with people here, is that everyone is in such a hurry, and it’s likely that those who aren’t in a hurry are likely tourists, who in turn upset the natives who get more agitated and rush more. It’s a very intense circle of agitation.” She tilted her head, curious now. She had been offered a scholarship to Stanford, but again it came from wanting to stay at home. “Why doesn’t Stanford offer your major? Is it some weird, exclusive thing that’s only available at NYU? Are you a, God forbid, film major?” She teased, knowing that most of the people who come to NYU do so because of its impeccable arts program. “Granted, NYU is pretty up there, too, as far as decent schools go.” Anna shrugged, making an effort to be modest so as not to seem irritatingly egotistical. “I’ve always wanted to do this. I did extensive research on my program and what i needed so all I go to advisors for is to make sure I’m on track for graduation.” She flashed him a wry smile, shrugging. “Do you often say stupid things? And to what people would I try to prevent you from speaking to? Well, I have a classics minor so I do talk a lot about Greek Mythology, and the Renaissance, and that kind of stuff. I also really like Harry Potter, so I’ll talk about that. Oh, and baseball, I’m really into the Yankees.”
Everyone really is in such a hurry. But it also seems like no matter how much you hurry you will always be late. That’s why walking is so much better in big cities.“ He let out a small laugh and shook his head. "They offer it, I mean. Like, in art history. I’m an art major. I could never be a film major. I’m more into drawing on a piece of paper anyway. The arts program here is amazing anyway.” He shrugged a little bit at the blonde. “It’s better to research what exactly you need to get to somewhere you want to be other than winging it, honestly.” He admitted to her and chuckled. “I often say stupid things. Like higher-end people, if we ever come across them. I tend to offend some of them. I love Harry Potter. Which book is your favorite?”

“Really? I don’t know, it’s just weird to hear me talk about myself so much or like things that I care about. I feel like I start talking way too much,” she smiled at him. “A tattoo shop? That’s actually really cool. I don’t think I’ve ever met someone that wants their own tattoo shop. Maybe I’ll come to you when I want to get one,” Kinsleigh winked at him. She had several dainty ones spread across her body, although she’s been meaning to get a decently sized one in the future. “A sister? That’s cool. Is she in a sorority too?– Awesome. Just fair warning though, I’m lowkey a coffee freak. So Starbucks isn’t going to do it,” she chuckled, shaking her head a bit. “There’s this cute café down the street from here.”
“I like hearing other people talk besides myself. I sometimes say stupid things and tend to offend people when I really don’t mean to.” He shrugged lightly at the girl in front of him. He let out a small chuckle. “You’d be my only customer, let’s be real. But I do own tattooing things. I know a guy back home who let me work at his place for the summer.” He shrugged a little bit. He had a few. None that really showed except for the one he had on his forearm. “A sister, yeah. I forgot what sorority she was in, I’m such a good brother- That cute cafe it is then.”

“Is it different living so far away from home? Especially in such a massive cultural conglomeration like New York. I don’t know, I mean I know he would have liked if I had gone to USC, but I could have gotten in anywhere I applied, so i was really up to me. I’ve lived here my whole life, so naturally this is where I would want to stay.” Anna nodded, going through her phone for the information on her internship. Yep, if anything it’s helping me graduate early. Most students take their last semester to do heir internship since it requires so much time, but again this one is the best because it’s really flexible and I can do a lot of work through digital conferences.” Again, she nodded, feeling sympathetic towards his situation. Being pushed onto unfamiliar territory when all of your friends stayed home must have been a grueling task, a least socially. “Well, you can add one more to your list, because now you have me. I promise I don’t always talk about buildings and school. Sometimes I talk about other stuff.”
“A little. I basically grew up underneath desert skies. I know what a heatwave feels like and I’m still not used to the snow here. I’m into the city. But I’m not used to everyone being so different. Ruder, it seems. People are rude in Vegas too, but you also get a lot of drunks. I could’ve gone to Stanford too. I had the grades. But my major? It didn’t offer that. Ivy league and all. Home is where the heart is people say. You want to stay where you know the grounds.” He shrugged. “I like that. You know what you want and how to get it. Most of the kids in NYU don’t. They have to go to their advisor for every little thing.” He noted and then let out a small laugh. “I like that. You can stop me from saying stupid things to certain people. I ramble a lot. It’s okay if you do talk about buildings and school a lot. Trust me. I won’t get annoyed. What other stuff?”

“Oh please, Mack.” Wendy gave him a pointed look, before continuing to speak. “We all have our price. What could someone bribe you with?” She asked, taking a sip of her soda through her straw. “It’s just going to be a bunch of pretentious people and their spouses drinking and trying to seem sophisticated during an anniversary celebration. Please can you come along. I need someone there to keep me entertained.”
“I don’t know. I’ve never been bribed before unless-nah, yeah. Anything motorcycle related I’d be into.” He shrugged. “Ah, those types of people. Luckily I know how to be a sophisticated person granted that’s how I was raised to be in Sin city. Fine, but you’re gonna buy me real food after.”

“That’s what really sucks here in America. The school system isn’t entirely too unified and some kids don’t get the same opportunity as others. The better funded schools will obviously get the better materials to help aid in teaching the kids. I don’t know– I think I’m just rambling at this point. Sorry,” Kinsleigh innocently shrugged her shoulders, a light blush growing on her cheeks. “I didn’t know you had a brother. Do you just have him as your sibling?–Hey, do you just, I don’t know… wanna go get coffee? Just hang out and stuff? Destress from all this college business?”
“All they care about is money. The American school system. Money gets them what they want and what they need. - You’re fine. Honestly. It’s quite interesting hearing you talk. I’d rather hear about that than talk about my future career because everyone looks at me oddly when I tell them I want to own my own tattoo shop.” He shrugged lightly. “Brother and a sister. My sister attends here. She’s up and running around somewhere.- Coffee? Sure, I can be up to it. Let’s go.”

“I almost applied. It’s a good school and I could have used a change of scenery, but I wanted to stay in the north-east. I think you could actually hear my dad’s heart breaking when I told him I had applied to NYU rather than USC.” She nodded, eyes wide with excitement. “Okay, so you know the really pretty building up on seventy-sixth, over by the diner with the really good pancakes? There’s an architecture firm inside, and their internship is super competitive because they actually let their interns work alongside them rather than just run and get coffee. It’s incredible.” Anna snorted. “I mean, most definitely. I mostly have Ayla and her boyfriend, and they’re pretty used to my nonsense rambling by now.”
"I almost went because it's so close to home and that's what my mom wanted me to be. I get the heartbroken parent thing. Some parents want you to take their route, but other than that, you have to do something you know you're good at." He explained and laughed a little. "That sounds really exciting, it's it going to put any credits toward your graduation or no? It would be really cool if it did." He shrugged. "I assume if you grow up with people they do, I don't really have that over here. It seems like most of my hometown friends stayed in Vegas or went to California. I don't have many friends here."

“Probably elementary school kids? I like the idea of being able to create a foundation for kids to build on. Help them learn what subjects they’re interested in and for them to flourish through that,” she smiled. Looking back at the decisions she’s made, choosing education as her major is probably the best one that she’s made. “What do you miss about home?” Now that she thinks about it, she hasn’t actually taken the time to get to know Mack. “I’ve been busy. Insanely busy, actually. But I guess I’ve been good.”
"That's sweet. Kids need to learn what they are good in and what they actually want to learn. Some elementary schools are really good depending on the city you go to. I know the ones by me are really, I don't know-dumb. The Las Vegas school system is a joke. They want all the kids to be working in casinos." He shrugged a little bit at her and chuckled about the situation. He hated going to school in sin city. "I don't really know- my brother? I live with my father back home, but he's never home." He shrugged a little bit. "Yeah, college has everyone busy. It's stressful."

“eh, i’d give you a 6 out of 10,” waverly joked, waving her hand nonchalantly. “tallness really kills you for me.” she laughed at her own joke. “and yeah, it did. i just also got yelled at a shit ton last year, too. but i guess it’s worth it to continue being lazy.”
"6 out of 10? i'll take it." he said and shrugged. he was really down on himself most of the time anyway. "at least you passed freshman year and you're no longer a stupid pledge."

“you’ve got almost a whole foot on me,” she replied with wide eyes, looking up his tall frame with a incredulous laugh, “i can only imagine the kinds of things you can see with your height. i am envious, i tell you– envious.” holding out her hand for him to shake, she said, “we have a deal. we’ll keep our gpa’s up and have fun doing it in the process. i can be a fun study partner– mainly because i bake when i’m stressed so expect a lot of homemade goodies.”
"you're like what? 5'3?" he asked, chuckling as he guessed her height. "being tall isn't all that fun. we get in people's ways. we can't be front row of anything without people complaining. - my favorite type of brownie is peanut butter if that goes to anything."

“–So some freshman who desperately wants to make the tennis team, offered me free massages for a year at her parent’s spa. Normally, I’m not a fool for bribery, but I might take her up on this one. Not because I need it, but because I deserve it.” Wendy commented with a small smile on her lips. “Anyways, that’s not why I stopped by. I have a favor to ask. Tonight I have to attend a business dinner and I need someone to go with me.”
Mack furrowed his eyebrows and let out a small chuckle. "Bribery goes a long way sometimes. Not that I'm into it." He shrugged a little and sat back in his seat. A small eyebrow raised and he was thinking. "What kind of business dinner? I wouldn't know if you want to take me. I'm pretty awkward."
