Not really, i loved this series, both young and the new pope, it has giving me such happiness and inspiration even more after conclave.

I loved Lenny, for me he was indeed a Saint but not one that fits the expectations of the world, i loved Voiello and how he managed to befriends the nuns and encourage them to act against Assente, Cavallo erm, was an interesting character and foolish of me to think that he really cared for Assente.

I feel incredible happy for Sophia and John, i loved them even if they end up being a happy asexual couple thanks to John and his beliefs.

But what resonates more with me is Lenny, Assente and of course, Gutiérrez.

I would love to Lenny to continue to be pope but i understand that he was send only to fix the problem in wich the church had buried itself, i love everything when he comes back and find all his vatican family awaiting for him, specially Gutiérrez who ignores Assente to be with Pius. I joke a lot about the ship but i understand more and more that even, if Gutiérrez would imagine in one moment being with Lenny like that it was only a dream, Lenny wasn't a man of only one person but to all, and that's why i see them, in the canon, as the most queer platonic friendship of all, the most beautiful and pure in it's abstract.

I love that we saw how much Gutiérrez love Pius and how much Lenny loved him, and that for me is everything i need to know.

Now my concern is about Gutiérrez, his addiction but as the epilogo shows (and i hope it is) he was drinking water, I only hope happiness for him at Voiello's side.

And then Assente, beautiful character, beautiful motivation but omg man get yourself a man who really loves you please; I understand that being rejected by Gutiérrez to later find out that the man is gaining the new pope's closeness, or even, that he have a “boy toy ” as he calls it, is very difficult to accept specially when you are a person who definitely doesn't like himself; for Assente looking intimacy in Gutiérrez and later knowing that he's not wanted, someone like Cavallo is a distraction, someone finally chooses me, somebody wants me, and that's why is so easy for him fall for it (not to blame, I did the same) so I can only imagine what he must feel, at seeing that it was all an act, a trap, nor even Cavallo wants him in the end.

So, happy final for Assente? Gutiérrez, if those two decide to fucking open that door haunted by pope Pius in one side and hatred on another, they would possibly find comfort, or even better, love in the uncertainty.

Or Assente know Vincent in Kabul and now is in the Vatican again working with him and visiting Gutiérrez in his apartment ❤️

I'm not happy about how much i'm suffering for Bernardo Gutiérrez in the new pope and the inherent presence of Lenny, I always thought that as Assente were having something with him we will not see how Lenny's coma would affect him but fuck i was wrong, please don't let that man go in the alcohol again
