A Thing A Day 1: About me
Hey, guys, I’m beginning this series by answering a bunch of questions about me. I just typed up on Google some questions, and used the first website: http://thoughtcatalog.com/rania-naim/2016/02/40-deep-questions-to-ask-if-you-really-want-to-get-to-know-someone/ use it if you’d like, it’s not mine. Anyway: let’s get answering these questions:
1. What’s your philosophy in life?
Fuck, this is not at all how I wanted to start this list. I thought it was gonna be some whats your favourite colour shit.
Well, I guess my philosophy is: do what you fucking want. Who knows when, or how you’ll die, but you know it most likely will be unexpected, so do what you’ve wanted to do before this happens. No excuses. If you really wanted to do something, then you’d do it. Don’t let other peoples opinions, or shit bring you down as they are just opinions, their words will never be facts, so don’t listen. You do you.
Also; get rich, and fuck everyone. EVERYONE!
2. What’s the one thing you would like to change about yourself?
If I was still complaining about what I’d change about myself, I’d honestly be less happier than I am now. You can’t change most things about yourself, and dwelling on changing these things will only bring you down. So just deal with it. You’ll find use for what you can do, and you will find these things you didn’t like don’t mean anything to you anymore.
3. Are you religious or spiritual?
No
4. Do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert?
Ambivert
5. Which parent are you closer to and why?
Fuck, idk. Whichever one I need something from.
6. What was the best phase in your life?
“I guess I’ll go fuck myself then”- It’s just a beautiful thing that you can say to almost anything.
“Wanna go out?” “No” “I guess I’ll go fuck myself then”
“I don’t care” “I guess I’ll go fuck myself then”
“Hey, Pornhub premium is free today” “I guess I’ll go fuck myself then”
7. What was the worst phase in your life?
“It’s over, Aniken. I have the high ground”- You are fucked. No matter the situation, you know you are fucked.
8. Is what you’re doing now what you always wanted to do growing up?
Training for pro wrestling.
9. What makes you feel accomplished?
Having bigger goals
10. What’s your favorite book/movie of all time and why did it speak to you so much?
Fight Club- it’s just a good representation of how people are brainwashed by marketing, and media. How people are made into a product of what they see, and not how they feel.
11. What is a relationship deal breaker for you?
Honesty.
12. Are you more into looks or brains?
Neither. I like a good sense of humour.
13. Would you ever take back someone who cheated?
Depends on the situation.
14. How do you feel about sharing your password with your partner?
What are they gonna do? Delete my epic sniper montage on Youtube that I uploaded 6 years ago? Shit was lit. Hell no, I ain’t giving my password to anybody.
15. When do you think a person is ready for marriage?
When they say they are. They know when they are, why am I the one to say they aren’t?
16. What kind of parent do you think you will be?
A good one, I hope.
17. What would you do if your parents didn’t like your partner?
Not give a single shit.
18. Who is that one person you can talk to about just anything?
She knows who she is.
19. Do you usually stay friends with your exes?
Lol, what exes?
20. Have you ever lost someone close to you?
Yes.
21. If you are in a bad mood, do you prefer to be left alone or have someone to cheer you up?
Left alone.
22. What’s an ideal weekend for you?
Drinks with the boys.
23. What do you think of best friends of the opposite sex?
Why the fuck does it matter what sex they are?
24. Do you judge a book by its cover?
No, I judge it by its IMDb rating, and friends recommendations.
25. Are you confrontational?
If I have to be.
26. When was the last time you broke someone’s heart?
Lol
27. Would you relocate for love?
Maybe.
28. Did you ever write a journal?
Yes. Many times. I failed.
29. What are you most thankful for?
Being born in a fairly wealthy area, and family.
30. Do you believe in second chances?
Yes.
31. What’s the one thing that people always misunderstand about you?
I’m not angry, I just am very passionate about things.
32. What is your idea of a perfect vacation?
Going somewhere different, and learning of their culture. And good food.
33. What did your past relationship teach you?
Lol
34. What are your thoughts on online dating or tinder?
If it works, it works.
35. What’s on your bucket list this year?
Visit Japan.
36. When have you felt your biggest adrenaline rush?
No idea.
37. What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done and would you do it again?
I’ve done a lot of crazy shit tbh. I totally would again.
38. If a genie granted you 3 wishes right now, what would you wish for?
1. To be successful in what I want
2. Fortune to all my friends, and family
3. To not remember I wished for these things, so I believe it is just luck, and get really happy because of it.
39. What’s your biggest regret in life?
I don’t dwell on regrets.
40. What do you think about when you’re by yourself?
Everything.

Blossom- Milky Chance Review
Milky Chance crashed onto both the indie and mainstream scene very quickly with their melancholy folk album Sadnecessary. Their top hit Stolen Dance was on the charts for months, and the album itself was loved by critics, and listeners worldwide. The German group have now released their much anticipated second record titled: Blossom. The group have taken a different, more upbeat approach to their music in this new record. Instead of the depressing folk, it is a more chill, upbeat, and funky record. Let’s get right into it:
Blossom
The record opens with this very upbeat, and funky tune. The song is very Milky Chance with a nice clean guitar riff, and a funky beat to it. The song flows very well with a clear chorus, and verse. It is repetitive, but has been done tastefully so, and not out of laziness. It is a nice song with some very bright lyrics that welcome you into the record with a warm tone. The vocals are nice and clean. They blend with the instrumentals quite nicely to create this very sweet, and uplifting feel to the song. It is a great opener to the album, and introduces audiences into the style Milky Chance are experimenting with in the album.
8/10
Ego
This is very similar to Blossom in feel. The style of the album has now properly been established. The song is a lot more simple than Blossom, but works for the song. It is also structured quite well with parts of the song being clear. The chorus is quite repetitive, but like Blossom it sounds like a more artistic choice than just Milky Chance being lazy. It is not anything special, but is a light listen.
6.5/10
Firebird
This is one of the best songs on the album. From opening to the end, the riff is incredibly catchy, and gets better as the song progresses. The song is a lot more complicated than the previous two, but is not as upbeat. The opening of the song is nice, and surprisingly translates well into an acoustic riff. The build of the song is slow, subtle, and incredibly effective for the song. The guitar solo is also a nice touch to really complete the song. The vocals in this song fit very well with the rest, and adds to the chill atmosphere of the song.
8.5/10
Doing Good
The best part of this song is the chemistry between vocals and instrumentals. Clemens shows off his connection between the music well. The only problem is it does not quite contain that kick the previous songs, and is structured very questionably. The song changes very suddenly, and is unclear what section of the song it is. Something the previous songs did really well. It is a nice song, but lacks anything to make it special.
6/10
Clouds
This is a very nice song. It has an interesting and different sound, but fits the chill vibes the album has. This experiments with different styles the group previously have not tried, but have nailed these things quite well. The song, like most of the other songs, have structured it really well with clear sections. It’s a nice addition to the album with a range of pleasing effects.
7.5/10
Cold Blue Rain
This song is not as upbeat as the previous songs, but still fits in well with the rest. It has a lot of experimentation with different vocal styles, and instruments that work well for the song. It is a sad song that feels uplifting. The lyrics are sad, but the instrumentals are bright. A contrast that really works well for the song.
7/10
Stay
Stay is simple. It’s a sad acoustic song with a haunting riff that compliments the very desperate cries of Clemens singing about him wanting a certain person to stay with him. Who this person is remains ambiguous, but it really does work with the mellow acoustic guitar and Clemens vocal work. It has a different feel to most songs, but still fits with the album well.
8.5/10
Bad Things
Like other tracks: this has a lot of experimentation with things Milky Chance has not used previously. One thing in particular is the introduction of another singer; Izzy Blue. Blue is great on this track. She blends with Clemens very well to create a nice dynamic between the two. The song tells a story of a couple that use each others company to drown their problems, which is a very beautiful concept. The song has a nice book ending that wraps it up quite nicely.
8/10
Cocoon
This song captures the vibe the album is trying to create very well. It is very uplifting with sweet lyrics, a funky beat, and Clemens signature vocals. It is not a different or special song, but it is a very fitting song that the album needs in order to establish its sound. Its just plain good in a very Milky Chance way.
8/10
Losing you
This is the worst song on the album. Its not bad by any means, but its not of the quality the previous songs have been at. It jumps around too much from different feelings making it jarring, and has some very bland vocal work in it. It feels like a filler song with no clear sound the song wants to capture.
5.5/10
Paripeteia
This is the most experimental song on the album. It has a Western vibe to it, but has nothing to do with anything of that nature. The lyrics are the most redeeming part of it, but the song does lack something. The first and second verse feel incomplete with a quiet riff, and haunting harmonies, but it needs more than just that.
7/10
Alive
The song is good. It has a nice riff, some well done vocals, average lyrics, and some effects that mix nicely. The only problem is it is forgettable compared to the rest of the album. It is not bad, but is not at the quality the rest of the album is on.
6/10
Piano Song
Other than the extremely creative title, the song is good. If this really fits in with the rest of the album is debatable, but ultimately; it does feel like a Milky Chance song. It’s a sad song, as most piano songs from artists like Milky Chance are, but this has a lot of charm, and emotion than previous songs have had. Stay is the only song that compares to the feeling that this song creates.
8/10
Heartless
The song combines almost everything Milky Chance have introduced in the album in one song that closes the album well. It has some strange areas, but the clever instrumental work make up for it. The vocal work is not Clemens best, but still not his worst either. It closes the record well, but still itself is not an amazing song.
7/10
Overall the album has a very different sound and feel to it than Milky Chance’s previous work had. It is more upbeat than the depressing themes of Sadnecessary, and feels more alt rock than indie folk. The album is structured strangely with no flow of songs, just random songs playing in no pattern. It ruins the feeling as the sad songs are really great, but are surrounded by upbeat songs, so it does confuse listeners. The vocal and lyric work are average with some songs being vastly better than others in that area. In overall quality; most songs keep in a certain range of 6-8.5. The album is good. It is a light listen, and creates some very bright vibes that make them hard to hate. It’s not better than their previous record, but it isn’t worse either. Just different.

Wrestlemania 33 Review
Wrestlemania is like Christmas for wrestling fans. It is home to both the most exciting matches of the year, and huge events that couldn’t happen at any other PPV. But with the sour taste left in fans mouths from last Wrestlemania, did this live up to Wrestlemanias title as the Grandest stage of them all’?
Neville Vs. Austin Aries
This match felt a bit underwhelming as it opened up the show, but was a main-card worthy bout. The skill of both wrestlers were on full display as they battled in one of the best matches the Cruiserweight division has had since the CWC. Neville going to the corner for the red arrow, then refusing to perform it just shows Neville’s potential as a heel. Aries selling was top-notch.
The matches placement on the card was what failed this match in the end. It wasn’t a show opener for the pre-show, and belonged on the main card. The Crusierweights just won’t be taken as seriously until it is treated like the other divisions.
6.5/10
Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal
This match was a complete mess from beginning to end. As they usually tend to be, but this one especially. The match failed to entertain, and by the time Strowman and Zayne left, fans were just disappointed. Mojo Rowley won. Why? 90% of the other competitors needed that win more.
It was not a good match.
4/10
Dean Ambrose Vs. Baron Corbin
Sadly, this was also a main-card worthy match placed onto the pre-show. Ambrose was visably unhappy with this, and as a result; put on a very boring match. It had a few exciting spots, but was overall sloppy, and boring.
5/10
AJ Styles Vs. Shane McMahon
AJ is worthy of a main event of Wrestlemania, this was further proven in this match. AJ and Shane opened the show with a bang creating a fast-paced, and exciting match. This just proves AJ can put on a good match with practically anyone, but props to Shane for the obvious preparation for the match. Shane showed he could wrestle in matches outside of hardcore matches. The match was filled with smooth spots like the coast-to-coast, and the shooting star press that nobody saw coming from Shane.
The match was the perfect opener and is one of the two matches of the night.
8.5/10
Kevin Owens Vs. Chris Jericho
This match has been building since Summerslam, and had an incredible amount of storyline heading into it. Jericho had an exciting entrance with the giant list, and glowing scarf which really built anticipation for the match nicely. The match was not amazing, but still held itself up pretty well against the rest of the card. Kevin Owens is a proven main-eventer, and Jericho has been for decades, so it goes without saying that this would be a great match. The finger spot was hilarious, and that final powerbomb onto the apron was a great way of ending it. Owens ending both his friendship with Zayne and Jericho with that same move. Owens definitely needed to give the US Title a bit more prestige, so the right decision was made there.
7/10
Bayley Vs. Sasha Banks Vs. Charlotte Vs. Nia Jax
This match just felt rushed. After an amazing Wrestlemania 32 match; the Raw women were sure to put on another great match. But failed to. Nia Jax elimination was fine as it kept her looking strong, but still got her out the match. After that it just went downhill. There was some nice back and fourth between the three women, but then Sasha was eliminated by a turnbuckle spot....The same woman who was in the first ever Hell in a Cell match where she survived a drop from the cell, a back injury, tables spots, and chair shots....Was eliminated...By a turnbuckle. It may have been exposed, yes, but still. After that there was a forgettable bout with Charlotte, and it kind of just ended.
4.5/10
Ladder Match for the Raw Tag Team Titles
The Hardy Boyz return was the highlight of the night. It was played perfectly by the New Day, and the match that followed was quite good. Wrestlemania wouldn’t be complete nowadays without a ladder match, so it was nice to have this on the card. All teams looked good, and had their moment in the match. Cass pushing Enzo up the ladder was great. In the end, the Hardyz finally broke through their Wrestlemaina losing streak (Jeff at least), and won the titles in typical Hardy fashion. It was a very fun, and exciting match with a huge return from two legends.
7.5/10
John Cena and Nikki Bella Vs. Miz and Maryse
Forgettable. Cena didn’t need the win, and still could have proposed even if he had lost. Could have fought off the Miz post match. The match felt like it was there just so Cena could propose, and had nothing exciting. Worst match of the night.
3.5/10
Seth Rollins Vs. Triple H
This and Styles Vs. McMahon were both the best match of the night. This match had a good story leading into it, and contained two great talents. The match did not disappoint. Triple H played the heel exceptionally targeting Rollins knee, and Rollins got on the crowds side easily even after a while on the bench. The match had some exciting spots, and some great storytelling. The pedigree spot where they both kept trying to hit it was perfect, and that final table spot with Steph made for an entertaining match.
8.5/10
Bray Wyatt Vs. Randy Orton
This match had the potential to be match of the night. It had story, talent, and a title to make it all mean something. Yet it was the most dead match of the night. Orton was painfully bored during the match, and as a result did not put any energy into it causing the match to fall flat. The spots with the projections on the ring were cool, and unique, but the rest of the match just failed to do anything to save it. Wyatt was great, as usual, but was very restricted due to the short amount of time the match was given. The ending was unexpected and saw the promising reign of Wyatt come to an end at the hands of a man that has enough championship reigns for a lifetime.
4.5/10
Goldberg Vs. Lesnar
This match felt huge. It was a blockbuster match full of finishers, and destruction. It was surprisingly pretty decent. The match still didn’t need to be for the title, but it was still exciting. Lesnar reminded us that he can be very good when he wants to be, and won a title. Lesnar does look good with a title.
7/10
Smackdown Live Womens Championship match
Why was this so far up the card? It was originally on the pre-show, and now it is before the main event? This was pretty bland, had its moments, but saw boring babyface win over a heel that had some momentum going in. Naomi had a bit of momentum, but literally just came back from an injury that she got after she came back from injury. She needs some time before a title run. It only happened for the pop.
4/10
Undertaker Vs. Roman Reigns
Like it or not, Reigns was a good choice for Undertakers last match. Not the best choice, but Reigns has been a big competitor. Love him, or hate him, he’s been booked like a champion. If anybody is going to retire Taker, it has to be someone big. Owens just isn’t big enough yet, Cena is too old for it at this point, Rollins is too fresh from injury, Styles is too new to the company, and Balor was out on injury. Taker needed someone fresh who could take his place, and plausibly do it. The match itself was fantastic. While it was a bit sloppy in parts; we have to take Takers age into consideration. The ending having Reigns spear him repeatedly, but Taker just being too old to counter it shows he is finished, and it is the right time to hang up the gloves. Reigns final spear was great, and Takers final goodbye was emotional to say the least. The storytelling was powerful, and was a nice goodbye to a legend.
8/10
Wrestlemania really did feel huge. It had a card destined to fail, yet worked with what it had to make a fun night. It was probably the best Wrestlemania in recent years, but still didn’t live up to the title of Wrestlemania. It had its ups, and its downs, but was overall a pretty good night.

Logan Review
**Spoilers**
The X-Men universe has been a huge part in many peoples childhoods across the globe. The intense, and exciting action was something that arguably shaped the superhero cinematic universe into what it is today.
Logan is the final in Wolverine’s story in regards to this universe. It is the final moments in Logan’s life; but how does this play out on screen? Let’s take a look.
Story
Logan begins with a fight between Logan and some thugs. If you weren’t expecting high-impact violence, then you better fucking be expecting it now. Logan violently slaughters the thugs, but struggles to, showing his weakness early on in the film. The film shows Logan’s job as a limo diver, and how he has been surviving. He hasn’t well as he now hides in a train-yard in the middle of nowhere. Xavier know relies on drugs to survive, and is as weak as Logan. This woman who refuses to leave Logan alone finally manages to convince him to help her with her mutant daughter. Logan takes her back to his house where Stephan Merchant finds him, and demands to give her to him. Laura, the mutant daughter, and Logan slaughter some guys in probably the coolest action scene this year so far. Logan gets away by driving in front of a train; something nobody has done before. They hide some more before being found. Rinse and repeat. Xavier is murdered by Wolverine 2.0. Laura shows she actually does in fact have a voice, and carries a near-dead Logan to a place that is totally a real place because it is in a comic book. Oh, wait, it is a real place. Laura meets a bunch of other mutants, and together they escape to Mexico where not everybody wants to murder them. On the way, they are attacked by salty soldiers. Logan dies in a scene I totally did not cry during, and finally the film ends on a...sort of happy note?
The story is incredible. It is very different from the usual formula these films tend to follow, and takes on a whole different angle no other film of its genre has tackled. It is incredibly compelling, and immerses the viewer into Logan’s world during his final days. It is a roller-coaster of emotion, and is beautiful in its own way. The film does not have a boring part, or a pointless scene within it.
Camera
Logan is shot incredibly well. With a nice spread of close-ups, and long shots: it makes for an engaging, yet detailed view of the world Logan is taking place in. A lot of shots in Logan are framed perfectly; like the scene where Xavier is killed, it gives just enough room for audiences to see, but keeps it tight. The action scenes are framed in a way for audiences to view the gore, and violence without any omission. Exactly how it should be with a film like this. There are a few great tracking, and establishing shots that make the cinematography in this film breathtaking.
Acting
Hugh Jackman IS Wolverine. The man has been playing Logan for such a long time, he probably knows the character inside out. His portrayal of Logan here is the best work he has done as Logan to date. His expressions, and realistic portrayal of an older person makes for a really compelling film. Although Hugh did an amazing job; the true star of Logan was Dafne Keen (Laura). The way she conveyed an incredible amount of expression almost entirely through body language is something I would expect from an experienced actor, not at all a person her age. Patrick Stewart, and Stephen Merchant also had some pretty convincing performances. The acting is one of the strongest areas of the film.
Lighting
The lighting in this film was quite low-key, yet felt very natural throughout. The lighting felt very realistic, and immersed you in the world of Logan.
Sound
The sound in the film is almost entirely diagetic. The sound was very realistic, and punchy. Like lighting the sound in this film immersed its viewers in the world the film takes place in. The soundtrack was very subtle, yet really helped the emotional parts of the story. It really hits you hard. The best use of soundtrack in this film are the times when there are no soundtrack. The use of silence to help audiences focus on the scene at hand was utilised incredibly well. The painful noise during the scenes where Xavier suffered a panic attack worked well to put audiences in Logan’s shoes, and make them uncomfortable. Sound was used very effectively throughout.
Mis-en-scene
The scenery in Logan was incredibly detailed to a point where you wonder if it was all really happening. The different locations in Logan were unique, and beautiful, they all were perfect for their parts of the story. Some uses of mis-en-scene like when Laura turns the cross on Logan’s grave to an X were so powerful that words were not even needed. The mis-en-scene was also utilised heavily for the story; like the X-Men comic book, which made the film so visually immersive that it was hard to look away at any point during the film.
Editing
If there is one thing this movie perfected; it is pacing. The editing was very important in the pacing as it kept the action scenes fast using lots of quick cuts and montage editing, and slowed the film right down during emotional scenes like Logan’s death by dragging out shots, and letting viewers really absorb the scene.
A word I have used a lot during this review is: Immersive. This is because it is a word that perfectly sums up Logan. The film is so compelling, and engaging that it just eats its audience up until the final credits. It has a beauty about it that has not been shown in previous films of its genre, and it is truly a unique experience. The film takes you on a breathtaking, epic, and finally sorrowful trip that will stick. From the beginning to the end, Logan is one hell of a ride. There is nothing really to complain here about this movie. It is the perfect end to Wolverine’s story.

Some things to note about the blog
Welcome to my blog! Just a few things before reading:
I also have a Youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCI_eNrw7pEPlDwjVPNPxpzA). The channel, and my blog DO NOT have the same content. The blog will focus on a more detailed look into what I review, while the Youtube channel is more of a comedic view of things.
My rating system is out of ten, and goes as follows:
The worst thing ever
Horrific
Pretty bad
Bad
Not good, but not the worst
Average
Pretty good
Great
Amazing
Speaks for itself
I tend to break things down into sections in order to give insight into how I came about my rating, and what I thought of the text. Movies, which are my biggest reviews; will be broken down into camera, acting, lighting, sound, mis-en-scene, editing, storytelling, and finally; entertainment value. Music is split song by song for albums, and is broken into instrumentals, vocals, and songwriting and song structure. Other texts may vary depending on what I’m reviewing, and depending on what I’m reviewing, the structure may change.
I may give a second review of things as I may change my mind as time passes, or my second viewing I formed another opinion for whatever reason. This will mean I may review things more than once.
The ‘Write a thing a day’ series I do is my best attempt at writing something a day: I may not keep up, but I’ll try my best. What I write about can depend on how I’m feeling, and will definitely differ each time. Maybe it’s a fictional story, maybe it’s a true story. Maybe its not a story. Who knows what I will write about?
