Tapferkeit - Awoken from a several centuries long slumber, Tapferkeit is a Golurk who walks the earth once more to fight the darkness of evil and bring glory to himself and his forgotten Order. Dycae "Shadowjack" Brask - A (rather charmin' and roguish) bounty hunter who often follows a 'look out for number one' moto. However after discovering Tapferkeit and his sudden appearance to the world, he begins a solitary quest to figure out the ancient Golurk's origins and why he showed up now after so long. Sharp monstrous hisses and crackling sparks were all that were heard from the massive arthropod before it crumpled to the floor, down and out for the count. The sides of its armored face looked horrifically cracked from the impact of the powered-up punch, and its entire body twitched from the intense burst of electricity. It certainly wonât be returning to its feet for a while.
The Conkeldurr rotated his right arm and cricked his neck, as the Lucario hybrid brushed herself off and then struck a confident pose, complimented with a sporty smile.
âWell! Wouldja look at that, we did! Sure showed them, didnât we luv?â
âWhat an uncouth beastâŠâ snarled the massive brawler, glaring down at the defeated aquatic predator with a look of disapproval. âIt mustâve been a feral Golisopod, attacking us for food. Never listened to a word we said, completely ignoring how weâre just trying to reach the next settlement. Nothing but hisses and clacks⊠no point in reasoning with instinct, I suppose.â
âGuess ya could say he was quite the huge bugger then~?â
âSpare me the jests, Ambrosia.â
âOh? Ah, Onyedi, look! Hello there, er⊠cavalryâŠ?â
â⊠Or reinforcementsâŠ?â
Before the two Pokemon could retrieve their grasps of their situation within the deep coastal cave, they turn to you, the onlooker. While the Lucario seems friendly, the Conkeldurr seems to be firmly staring down at you, suspicious. What will you do? And moreover, what will you sayâŠ? â (( The blog is now available for asks and interactions! ))

The Audino hybrid large deep rose red eyes once the violet embracerâs question clicked. Kariâs ears raised briefly before shuffling in place, fitting an awkward smile before the lovely fairy.
âO-oh, well thatâs easy, nene!â She started cheerfully with a smile, hopping slightly in place as she started to explain.
Orchid listens quietly and politely when the Audino answers her question, her lips widen slightly when she talks fondly of her past times with Momoko.
Or at least...at first.
When the Pokemonâs face falls and her tale takes on a more sadder tone, the Gardevoir could feel her own smile fade. When Kari ends her story on a self-doubting note, Orchid couldnât help but look at her with what looks like pity.
However that look didnât last long, for her lips widen to a sad smile. âMy dear, If I may...I would like to voice my thoughts on your situation.â
âI can understand why you would feel guilty, why you would feel that this sudden act is selfish.â Her expression grows more warm. âHowever...you did what you felt was right, that you needed to do this in order to help the one who helped you.â She closes her eyes for a moment before opening them again.. âAlthough the saying âfollow your heartâ is often used, I find it true...despite that many would think of it as a selfish thing.â
She turns her gaze sideways, looking afar. âI for one firmly believe this, to follow what your heart yearns for.â The purple Pokemon looks back at Kari, her smile never waning. âTo to hear you doubt yourself, it shows that you truly are a caring and kind creature. You still think of others, even when you want to do what you firmly believe in.â
Orchid kneels down and pulls the Pokemon into an embrace, holding her close. âBut I assure you, what you did is not wrong.â She whispers quietly into Kariâs ear. âIf it was wrong, you would be regretting your decision.â She releases the Pokemon, giving her a beaming smile. âBut you donât my dear, even with the doubts you feel...you are glad you made this choice. So donât let those rainy thoughts bother you anymore, a beautiful and strong girl like you shouldnât let them weigh you down.â
She pauses for another moment, her gaze once again looking afar. Eventually turns back to Kari once more, letting out a laugh. âIf I may add? Your story...it made me change my thoughts on your friend. From what youâve told me...I find it incapable of me to imagine her to be guilty of the crimes they proclaim.â She bows her head. âAlthough I am incapable of helping you both in your plight, I wish to give you both my blessings. You both walk a difficult path, where it feels that the world is against you.â Orchidâs smile widens into a full-on grin when she raises her head. âBut with what youâve told me...I say with utmost confidence that I am someone who firmly believes in the both of you, that you can overcome these challenges set before you.â
She crosses her arms under her chest, giving a final nod. âYou both will take them on these obstacles together, just as your heart desires. So feel guilty no more, my dear.â

âAnd helping others is what helps me get by in turn⊠A sweet fair deal if you ask me~â
That vision of ghoulish lights seem to flash if but for a second for the Rhapsodist, all while Keiko continued to smile and answer his question in her own playful way, all while dancing around details. Afterwards, the fox-esque crossbreed rested a paw on her hip as she kept that cheery yet shifty smile on the masked one. Keikoâs pose was confident with a touch of hopefulness, as she attempted to guide the chat towards a certain direction
âGotta say though, youâre dressed awfully sharp for someone whoâs taking a stroll through here⊠not to mention ya give off a liâl creepiness yourself there, BashĆ ~â she seemed to have picked up on his syllable rhythm as she gives him that cheeky nickname, recognizing his poetry all while remaining perky.
âWhatâs a well-dressed masked man like you doing through these silent greens? Ya know where ya are, right? Was it gossip, word of mouth that brought ya here? Or looking for some place for peace of mind, or to be inspired~?â
â
[ @the-awoken-crusader ]
They listened to the fox in utter silence, studying her behavior.
Thereâs no doubt about the fact that she has a silver tongue, but with how she dances around the finer bits on her explanation...they strongly suspect that her tongue may be forked as well
When the rather unusual lights danced through the air, the Toxisharp blinked in confusion and interest. However despite it being for a moment...they saw enough. It was no trick of the eye, there is more to her than she lets on...thus solidifying their suspicions.
When she called them BashĆ, visible surprise flickered in the hybridâs eyes. Despite her being the first to have said the name, the hybrid couldnât help but feel flattered to even be associated with such a well-known poet. But the compliment may not be genuine, so they merely nod in response.
Shiki continued to remain patient as she spoke, waiting till she finished completely. Although they werenât surprised that she ended her speech with a line of questions, but what DID make them suspicious was how particular the last question was...
Shiki forbade themself to show any sign of their inner thoughts, leaving only their unwavering gaze. âWhat has brought me here?â They speak, their lips underneath their mask widening into a smile. âI understand why you ask, for Iâm...out of place.â
âBut if you must know, I am here because of a...â Their gaze turns Momoko, uncaring on whether or not she noticed the hybridâs presence. â...tale thatâs unfolding.â
They turn and extend their unbladed arm outwards, causing their cloak to flourish in the still air. âIt...most intrigues me, I canât help but watch with great...anticipation.â The hybrid reaches out with the caped hand and rests their hand on her shoulder. They slowly turn her to face the Gardevoir, taking care to not prick the Pokemon with their bladed finger. âI see potential, a story of true wonder.â Their voice drops to a low whisper, their words carrying a dark satisfaction. âCan you not...see it?â
Shiki utters a quiet chuckle and removes their hand. âMy mind is at peace, gossip did not bring me here.â They shake my head. âBut inspiration?â
âYes, you are correct.â They murmur before looking straight at her. Gone is the expressionless visage that they had prior, now...Shikiâs knowing gaze possesses an unnerving glee. âBut you I wonder? Whatâs your...story...Ese-sha?â

Camellia@Trixie: "Guid efternuin tae ye, madam! Yoo're thes 'Officer Trixie' Ah've heard runnin' it ay others' mooths, aye? Ye look like a spunky lass!" Chuckles the Delphox heartily before resting a hand on her hip, angling her head over slightly as she raises a brow to the fellow fox hybrid. "Iffin' Ah may sae so, it's a wee bit hard tae tak' th' nam 'Trixie' serioosly fer an officer, no 'fense ah' course. Why dae ye go wi' that name, lassie?"
The cop had to carefully process the unusual Delphoxâs words, more because of her having difficulty understanding the strangerâs rather thick accent. She recognized it though, Scottish or Irish...whichever one it is since she canât really tell the difference between the two.
Her ears flicked slightly when the vulpine Pokemon said her name, it took her a few moments before she fully understood the words that followed. Her eyes narrow as her expression becomes rigid, the term âno offenseâ meaning nothing to the hybrid.
âRather difficult to not take offense when someone says they canât take your name seriously.â She responds tightly.
Now she has no intention of making a scene out of it, specifically because sheâs still on-duty and needs to act professional. Despite her growing irritation she heard what the rest of what the Delphox said, specifically that their insult ended with a question.
The look of her expression it shows that sheâs considering on not answering, but eventually she shakes her head and mutters a few rather unpleasant words under her breath.
âSo you wish to know about my ânot-to-be-taken-seriouslyâ name?â She asks lowly, her voice containing a creeping sarcasm. âMy true name is Angelina Shade, âTrixieâ is merely a nickname I go by..â Trixie places her hands on her hips and shakes her head. âAlthough âDetective Shadeâ or âOfficer Shadeâ would be a more âseriousâ name, I go by Trixie since itâs something I prefer more.â
She falls silent for a moment to recall the memory before speaking again. âTrixie was given to me by Orchid, a good friend of mine. She called me that as a way to mess with me, since it wasnât even close to my name. But...â Her stern mask cracks slightly as her lips threaten to rise into a smile. â...the name ended up growing on me, so now itâs kinda stuck.â
As quickly as it appeared, the look vanishes and her irritated expression returns. âThatâs the story behind my ânot-so-seriousâ name, got nothing else to add.â
Her dislike towards the Pokemon is extremely evident, even if Camellia truly didnât mean to offend...it left a bad mark on the cop. âAs for that bow?â She adds lowly, her gaze shifting to the weapon on the Delphoxâs person. âDonât think about using that in public, the moment I see you draw a single arrow...Iâll confiscate it from you immediately. Consider this my only weapon, we have a zero-tolerance policy for drawn weapons in Hanara.â With a barely contained glare she crosses her arms. âNow go, Iâve got better things to do.â

Momoko@Orchid: " ... ăăă«ăĄăŻ," she greets, holding a fan over her face as she silently eyed the other Gardevoir. She couldn't help but shift slightly as she stared at the fellow Embrace Pokemon, her gaze soft, as if even SHE was taken aback by her beauty. Thankfully her lower face was covered as she soon spoke, " ... It's unusual to see a Gardevoir with such markings... they resemble garden vines. Are those natural, or tattoos...?"
Her fins twitched upon hearing the foreign greeting, not recognizing the language. When her head turns she couldnât help but also look with surprise at the newcomer. A Gardevoir as white as cherry blossoms, wearing what she can only assume is a kimonoâŠa style of clothing well-known within the Johto region if her memory serves correctly.
Her eyes flick to the fans that she uses to conceal part of her face, giving her an air of mysterious elegance. Thereâs somethingâŠfamiliar about this Gardevoir, as if sheâs seen her somewhere before.
The Pokemonâs question snaps her out of her thoughts, causing her to laugh sheepishly. âPardon me, it appears that Iâve been up in my little world.â She rests a hand on her hip, giving the Pokemon a friendly smile. âTo answer your question my dear, itâs neither.â
âI wasnât born with these markings, nor are they tattoos.â She answers. âHoweverâŠâ Uncertainty quickly overtakes the Pokemonâs visage, as if sheâs unsure if she should continue. Eventually Orchid lets out a quiet sigh, rubbing the side of her head with a gloved hand. âI apologizeâŠalthough youâre not the first to ask such a question, itâs a rather difficult thing to answer.â Her face twists into a frown, the expression defiling her beauty. âTheyâreâŠmarkings that were casted upon me by a vengeful spirit. Although they donât do anything, they remind me of a grim and painful eventâŠâ She gives the other Gardevoir a weak smile. âThatâs all I wish to say on the subject, I mean no offenseâŠbut itâs a tale that brings dark memories.â
She lets herself fall silent, drawing her thoughts away from the unpleasant reminders by admiring the intricate designs on the Pokemonâs clothing. However the more she looks at the GardevoirâŠthe stronger the feeling of familiarity growsâŠ
âŠAnd suddenlyâŠit hits her all at once on why she recognized the Pokemon.
A while back she saw a bounty poster with her very face on it, wanted for attempted assassination in another land. It got quickly taken down however due to it having no correlation with the city of Hanara and that itâs highly unlikely for such an individual to appear here anyways.
And yet here she isâŠright before her.
Despite the fact that a criminal is standing right in front of her, Orchid didnât feel any sort of worry. Because despite what it saysâŠthis Pokemon doesnât seem like a killer, but then againâŠlooks can be deceiving.
In the endâŠOrchid makes her decision.
âI must say itâs unwise to walk in in the open.â She says in a hushed tone, looking at the other Gardevoir with concern. âI can only wonder how many are hunting you, to claim that bounty.â Her lips curve slightly. âAlthough I do not know full story of why they seek you, I still give you my condolences.â

(askfreelancers) Pumpkin @ Orchid: "I've never seen a Gardevoir with your coloring or markings before. It's a good color -- but perhaps I'm a bit biased." the Delphitelle chuckled. "It is clear though that you're no typical Gardevoir. I have to ask, what is your heritage, exactly? Are you a type of hybrid, or some special variant of Gardevoir?"
The Gardevoir couldnât help but smile at the hybridâs comment on the color purple. âI would most agree with you my dear, for purple is a very good color~â She covers her mouth with a gloved hand, a quiet laugh escaping her. âBut perhaps I am biased as well, so it appears that weâre both to blame.â
When asked on her heritage she folds her hands over her stomach, her kind smile never wavering. âIâm not hybrid, as surprising as it is. However youâre correct on me being a variant of Gardevoir.â She moves one of her hands and rests it on her hip. âI donât believe thereâs an actual name for us, but my family has a history of us purple Gardevoirs. I havenât dabbled too much into our family tree, however I can say with utmost confidence that itâs been going since the founding of this city.â
âThatâs all I can really say on the matter, so I do hope that answers your question.â She leans forward slightly, her smile becoming playful. âBut if you wish to become more familiar with me, I see no reason to deny. I quite love meeting new people~â

The Flower of Hanara
[PoV: Dycae]
[Location: Hanara City Streets]
As much as I hated the galâs guts at this point, I still had questions that needed answering.
When we stepped out, Trixie used her illusion powers to make her appear like a normal Zoroark. Her uniform was replaced with a simple shirt and pants, I almost expected her to go with no clothes.
In fact, Iâve noticed that the few folks I see walking the streets are wearing some sort of clothing. Not a single Pokemon is wearing nothing.
Course thatâs one of the questions I asked, and she responded with how this city strives to become as modern as human cities. So this place has the latest technology they can afford or build, all Pokemon wear clothes, that sort of bit.
But my focus ainât entirely on other folkâs fashion, since I also want to know how theyâre handling this killer business. So there are other questions to ask.
What she told me is that one of the things theyâve done is put a curfew in place, no folks are allowed out after eleven.
They also constantly have cops patrolling the streets, keeping an eye out for any unusual activity. Course they havenât received any reports of anything that can be classified as âunusualâ, IÂ kinda figured that since none of the files had anything useful.
Eventually we arrive to the place which happens to be a rather small home, the folks here work quick since the place is already swarmed with cops and police tape. As we approach it she lets her illusion fade off, revealing her true self.
One of the cops glances at us and pauses, his eyes widening. âDetective! Iâm glad youâve arrived!â
Her expression now lacks the unusual smile, now itâs a stern frown. âWhatâs the situation?â She asks.
The cop cringes. âNot...good. The body was reported an hour ago, Iâll definitely say that itâs very...messy.â
Now Iâm not an impatient person, but Iâve got better things to do than to listen to this right now.. âIâll check it out.â I say suddenly, pushing past the two and ducking underneath the tape.
âHey!â The cop called. âYou canât-â
âHeâs with us.â I hear Trixie interrupt him, but I donât need to look back to see that sheâs clearly annoyed.
I walk past the various cops, they give me odd looks but donât stop me as I make my way to the house. I keep my eyes constantly scanning everything, looking for any signs of...something.
When I entered through the door thatâs when the smell hits me, the smell of death. Now sure this may seem like some made-up thing that you only read on story books, but let me tell ya...itâs very real.
Itâs a kind of nasty smell, not necessarily something rotting...but itâs the kind of smell that youâd never want to experience. Not sure if itâs just me that can smell it, but I know itâs there...
I eventually arrive to the room, the sight of the scene causing me to falter. The stench of blood is incredibly strong here, and looking at the body makes me almost want to hurl.
What Iâm looking at is what I can only assume is a Raichu gal, or at least whatâs left of her.
Blood is stained all over the place, her body is absolutely covered in massive gashes and stab wounds. Her face? Itâs extremely disfigured, almost left in nothing but tatters.
Now Iâve dealt with some horrific scenes before and I even looked at the pictures of the cases of this killer, but...itâll never compare to seeing it in person. I could feel a sick pit swell in my stomach, I had to quickly close my eyes and collect my thoughts to prevent myself from emptying my lunch.
âOkay Shadowjack, do your stuff.â I whisper quietly before opening my eyes.
I quickly get to work, inspecting the body closely and the various surroundings all the while taking great care not to get myself dirty. I check the furniture, the various hallways, even the windows in case the killer forced one open.
When I eventually get back to the crime scene I see Trixie standing there, her arms crossed. âFind anything?â She asks, her tone just as cool as we first met.
Iâm surprised sheâs handling this scene very well, but then again...sheâs probably been dealing with these things for a while now. I mentally give myself a kick as I recollect my thoughts, since I need to show this gal how I run things.
âFrom what I can see, whoever did this didnât force their way in.â I begin slowly. âDonât see any sign of breakinâ and enterinâ, so whoever the killer is...they were let in.â I pause for a moment before reconsidering. âThat or they had some form of access here, whether it be a key or just really good at lock pickinâ.â
I turn my gaze to the body, wincing slightly. âAs for her? Iâm not too sure on the specifics, but whatever did that to her must be really sharp. I can only assume taâ be claws due to the shape and how the gashes are lined next taâ each other, ainât nothing the Rhapsodist can do.â
My eyes glance to the side to see another cop writing everything Iâm saying, heh...I kinda expected Trixie to be doing this stuff since sheâs supposed to be a âDetectiveâ.
âSo itâs essentially the same thing weâve been finding.â She responds flatly. âShadowjack, weâre not clueless. We already know about the claws, how thereâs never any sign of breaking and entering, basically the whole thing you just said. The reason why I asked you is because I wanted to know if thereâs anything else youâve noticed that we do NOT know.â
I feel my teeth grit together. âThen perhaps ya shouldâve told me that in the first place.â
âDid you find anything else then?â She asks tightly.
âNo, I didnât.â I growl. âNothinâ out of the ordinary besides the damn body here.â
Her eyes narrow at this. âShadowjack, you will need to watch your language.â
âMy language?â I laugh sarcastically. âWhy ya care about language? Thereâs a fuckinâ dead body here, like thereâs gonna be kids here anytime soon.â
"Itâs because we need to have at least a sense of respect.â She hisses in response.
âRespect? I donât know about ya, but ya donât deserve respect from me.â I fire back.
At this point the cop whoâs supposed to write things down could only watch helplessly as the two of us continue to throw back words at each other, the conversation becoming more heated as time passes.
âI know people like you.â She snarls, her calm visage now broken. âYouâre the kind of individual who thinks that their methods are far superior, that they stand above others despite the fact that this is a WORK FORCE who perfected our methods.â
âKnow me? Ya donât know shit about me!â I respond heatedly. âIn case ya donât realize, thereâs a reason for my reputation. Iâve gotten work done, my methods have proved taâ work better than anythinâ a cop could ever hope taâ pull off!â
âUh...excuse me?â A voice suddenly calls out.
âWHAT?!â We both scream in unison, turning our anger to the one that interrupted us.
The cop could only shrink back in fear, his eyes filled with terror. âUhhh...â He stammers. âSomeone...wants to see...you?â
We turn our gazes to another cop standing beside him, his expression just as terrified. I swear, if they get spooked by the pair of us...then they have no place in the force.
âThis conversation isnât over.â Trixie growls lowly before walking past me.
âNo it ainât.â I mutter back.
The two of us leave the house and head back outside, the city air smelling far better to me than the scent of blood. We brush past several cops before ducking under the tape again.
âWho is it that wanted to see us?â Trixie asks one of the cops. Before they could respond another voice pierces through.
âIt was I, my dear.â
I turn my gaze again to the source of the voice and I could feel my heart stop. The one who spoke is a Gardevoir, however thatâs only the beginning.
This gal...is absolutely stunning, one of the most beautiful gals Iâve ever had the pleasure of laying eyes upon. Although most Gardevoir are known for their green hair, this lady is actually purple.
Her flowing hair goes way past her shoulders and down to her stomach, and her white skin is bright and lustrous. Adorned on her shapely body is a fitted dress of a very rich purple, just like her hair. It goes down all the way to the ground with a decorated train on the end, however it also has a slit on the side to grant more movement as well as a better look of her legs.
She wears a matching pair of elbow-length gloves and boots, each lined with dark purple fur. On her body are what I can only assume are light purple markings of vines, matching with similar designs on the back of her dress.
The biggest thing of all is her face, how that she has mismatching red and pink eyes...and how that she has a very kind yet playful smile on her face.
âDid I break him?â She asks Trixie jokingly, also snapping the Zoroark out of her own confusion.
The hybrid quickly shakes her head. âOrchid? What are you doing here? You shouldnât be out and about!â
The Gardevoir merely laughs and waves the detective off. âThereâs no need to worry about me, Trixie dear. I am more than capable of taking care of myself after all!â She turns her gaze to me, her smile becoming mischievous. âBesides, Iâm very curious of who this handsome rogue is~â
Trixie opens her mouth to reply, but I quickly beat her to the punch. âHandsome rogue? I greatly appreciate the compliment~â I respond in kind, putting on my signature smile. I bow slightly before softly taking her hand and bring it to my lips for a kiss. âI am Shadowjack, itâs my greatest pleasure taâ meet ya acquaintance.â
Orchid giggles in response, from the corner of my eye I can see Trixie giving me an extremely dirty look. âMy my, devilish yet also gentleman! Such a dangerous combination~â She softly pulls her hand out of my grasp and brings it to her face, covering her mouth. âBut the pleasure is mine, Shadowjack. I am Orchid Felici, however Orchid will simply do~â
I bring myself back to my full height, never letting my grin waver. âThen Orchid it is, a very fine name too I might add.â
Her smile widens. âYou do realize that if you keep flattering me, I might change shade?â
Prepare to shoot back another witty response, however Trixie decides to ruin it by butting in. âAs much as Iâd love to watch you two flirt, there are more pressing issues to focus on.â She says through gritted teeth.
Yeah, fuck you too Trixie.
Orchid blinks a few times before gasping quietly. âOh! Dear me, Iâm awfully sorry...it appears Iâve forgotten the reason why I came here.â
The Zoroark rolls her eyes before giving a strained smile. âItâs alright Orchid, just...tell me whatâs up.â
Excuse me? Iâm here too?
âWell, Iâd be rather dishonest if I said that I wasnât here because I felt like I was getting too cooped up indoors.â Orchid chuckles quietly. âAnd Iâve caught word of a bounty hunter looking into the recent killings, so I also wanted to see him for myself.â She flashes me another smile. âAnd Iâm quite glad I did~â
Upon seeing Trixieâs impatient expression, she lets out a quiet sigh. âIt appears Iâm getting sidetracked again...â She shakes her head a few times. âThe reasoning is to tell you that I desire to assist you in this investigation.â
Now, Iâm gonna be honest...I never thought Iâd see someone recoil so hard. So when I saw Trixieâs reaction, I half expected her to fall over.
âW-What?!â The Zoroark stammers. âA-Assist us? How?!â She quickly gathers her composure, letting out several quiet breaths until her cool expression returns. âI donât...mean any offense Orchid, but...how exactly can you help us? Youâre not the kind of person who...dabbles in this sort of thing.â
She shrugs her shoulders. âPerhaps, but my family are the ones funding everything after all so I have some idea.â This makes me blink, but she continues. âHowever I donât want to simply stand around while other people are getting hurt, it makes me feel...rotten. I wish to provide some sort of assistance, even if itâs a little.â
Trixie sighs in defeat. âYeah...sure... If you want to help Orchid I wonât stop you, hell...I doubt the chief will say no to you either.â
Heh, not that Iâd blame him.
Orchidâs shining smile returns instantly as she pulls the Zoroark into what I can assume is a tight hug. âThank you dear, I greatly appreciate it. Iâll do my best to assist you in any ways possible.â
âO-Orchid...weâre in public...â The hybrid gasps, causing the Gardevoir to release her.
âRight...on duty... Sorry.â The Psychic-type laughs awkwardly. âHowever as good as it is to see you two, I know you both have a job to focus on. So Iâll meet you both again soon, so take care will you dearies?â
She doesnât really give us any time to respond as she turns and walks away. As I feel my gaze drift a little down I notice her hips are swaying as she walks, when I glance back up I notice her glancing back at me with a mischievous smile.
Eventually even her purple colors vanishes into the streets of the city, leaving us alone with the rest of the folks.
I couldnât help but look at Trixie, thinking back to her past reactions...such as the dirty look she gave me when I kissed Orchidâs hand and how flustered she acted while the gal hugged her.
Could it be...?
âGirlfriend?â I ask cheekily, a smirk clear as day on my face.
I swear I never flinched so hard when the gal turns to me with what I can only explain as fire in her eyes. âNo...she isnâtâ She growls dangerously, her claws twitching as if she wanted to rip my throat out. âShe is a very close friend of mine.â
Now...Iâm unsure if thatâs actually the case, but seeing how she acted...I have no intention of pushing the topic any further.
âYeah...alright...â I respond slowly, rubbing the back of my neck.
The Zoroark shakes her head before turning away. âCome, we got work to do.â
Heh, I guess we do...

Trouble is Brewing in Hanara City
[PoV: Dycae]
[Location: Hanara City Police Station]
I wasnât surprised when I found myself back here in this place, since the files these folks possess have done me more good than any of them newspaper articles back in the library.
However what DID surprise me was when one of the cops called me in, saying something about their chief wanting to speak with me.
Was I nervous? Not really, didnât do anything wrong here and I seriously doubt some of my past âdeedsâ reached very far. So why did they want me? The hell if I know, best I go with them anyways to see whatâs wrong.
I find myself sitting on a chair before the guy, whoâs a very tough looking Granbull. The fella has the whole getup when it comes to cops, such as the vest and pants and even a shiny badge that says âPolice Chiefâ on it. The guy looks very tired though, making him much less intimidating than he wouldâve been.
âSo, whatâs up chief?â I ask, leaning back slightly as I cross my arms over my chest.
He takes a quiet breath before beginning. âIâve been hearing word that youâve been going through our files.â The guy didnât look mad or anything, so my first thought was that I wasnât in trouble for that. âOur officers have informed that you said that these recent killings were not in fact by âThe Rhapsodistâ, correct?â
I nod my head. âYeah, they donât match up with âem.â
The fellaâs face wrinkles slightly as he rests his hands on his desk. âIâm rather curious on that, so could you elaborate?â
âWell,â I start. âIâd hate taâ admit it, but the Rhapsodist fella got class. Heâs very clean with his kills, âcus heâs all about tryinâ taâ make his work...beautiful.â My face twists into a frown when I say those words. âThose recent killinâs? They ainât like anythinâ thaâ guy has done. All of 'em are brutal and incredibly messy, canât imagine the guy suddenly changinâ his mind on how he kills things.â
I tap my chin. âIf I remember correctly, there are three ways the Rhapsodist kills folks. He either stabs âem in the heart with a poisoned claw, beheads âem, or shoots a bullet intaâ their skulls.â I notice the Granbullâs eyes narrow at the mentioning of âbulletâ. âBut them other killinâs? Itâs nothinâ like those three, Iâve seen limbs sliced off and faces torn apart. Whatever did that to those folks is an animal compared to thaâ Rhapsodist.â
âThen it appears we have another killer on our hands.â The Police Chief sighs, rubbing his eyes with his fingers.
âYep.â I agree grimly. âHowever even though I plan taâ hunt the Rhapsodist down, I ainât gonna leave you folks hanging. If thereâs a killer on the loose here, I plan taâ deal with her just as much as the other fella.â
Upon hearing my words the Granbull relaxes slightly, a thankful smile spreading on his face. âShadowjack, Iâm happy to hear that youâre willing to help this city of ours.â
I wave him off. âAinât no problem, chief. Iâm a bounty hunter, even though I make a livinâ off of huntinâ down bounties...I ainât gonna leave folks in danger when thereâs other trouble roaminâ around.â
âVery well.â The Granbull nods. âHowever, I have a proposition for you.â
This catches my interest, causing me to raise an eyebrow. âYeah? What proposition ya talkinâ here?â
âThe city of Hanara wants to collaborate with you in bringing this criminal to justice.â He says firmly. âMany families have lost their loved ones to this killer and we do not want many more to suffer. So in order to find them, we want you to work with us.â
Work with them? I ainât too much of a big fan with reporting to folks, but I think I can make an exceptio-
âBut we do not want to risk drawing too much attention.â He continues, interrupting my train of thought. âSo we wish to assign one of our best to work beside you.â
Now that causes my thought process to hit a screeching halt.
Oh HELL no!
My eyes narrow in irritation. âChief, I mean no offense.â I growl. âBut I work alone. I got my own way of workinâ, so I donât want other folks taâ get in my way.â
He nods his head slowly. âThatâs understandable, from what Iâve heard you do indeed wish to work alone. So this asking a great deal from you.â
No shit.
âHowever,â He chuckles. âWe plan to pay you for your efforts, since itâs only expected. So if you work with the city of Hanara, we will pay you $500,000 if you assist us in bringing the killer in through any means possible.â
At this point my jaw drops, just hearing that much made cash registers go ringing in my ears. Thatâs a very large number, never had a bounty ever reached that high.
Now this makes me reconsider my stance. Sure I work alone, but...thatâs a great deal of money Iâd be passing up there. Yeah I was planning on bringing dealing with the killer myself, but if the price for working with someone is that much money...then Iâd be set for a good long while.
Eventually I crack a grin. âWell, ya make a hard bargain.â I chuckle, extending a gloved hand to him. âYa got yaâself a deal, chief.â
He smiles as well and shakes my hand firmly. âWe are glad have your assistance, Shadowjack.â
Releasing his hand I lean back in my chair again. âSo,â I start. âWhoâs the one thatâll be my partner?â
The Granbull reaches for one of them hand-radios and speaks a few words into them. A few moments later the door to the office opens.
âPolice Detective Angelina Shade will be the one working with you.â He answers.
I turn my head to look at said cop only for me to pause.
Now, the first thing that pops into my mind is that sheâs definitely rather stunning. Sheâs a Zoroark, but not an ordinary one. Seeing the grays and blacks on her form makes me assume that she also has Mightyena genes, making her a hybrid.
Another thing I notice is that her her mane is actually cut rather short and tied into a ponytail, Iâm not too surprised though since having long hair would kinda work against ya when ya work for the force. She has the same navy uniform like the rest of the cops and even a shiny badge. However what also strikes my attention are her bright red claws and face markings as well as her sky blue eyes. She has a cool smile on her face and holds her head high, giving herself a confident air.
Yeah, now Iâm starting to think I made the right choice.
Suddenly another thought crosses my mind on what the chief said earlier.
âDetective?â I repeat, looking at the Granbull questioningly.
Angelina however was the one that answered me. âIâm more 'involvedâ than you think.â She grins.
The Granbull nods. âIndeed, Angelina may be one of our Police Detectives...but sheâs also one of our best Under-Covers. Since we donât wish to draw attention to ourselves and her skills are also some of the highest in our ranks, she is the one we will be assigning to work with you.â
I stand up from my chair and approach the gal, I open my mouth to properly introduce myself before a loud ringing sound is heard. I turn my head to see itâs the chiefâs phone on the table, his face grows more serious upon seeing the name on the screen of the phone.
âI am sorry for this but I must ask you to leave my office, this is an important call.â He apologizes, his expression slowly softening back to its normal self. âHowever, I would like to wish you two the best of luck.â
I give a two-fingered salute. âThanks chief, greatly appreciate it. Weâll do our best and bring her in.â
He nods his head at me thankfully. Heeding his wishes the two of us turn and make our way out of his office.
When the door closes I turn to face the gal, putting on my most charming smile. âSo even though we probably already know each otherâs names, we still havenât technically properly introduced each other.â I chuckle.
Her cool smile widens somewhat at this, although she doesnât really look impressed by my charming attempts. âThat is quite true, however I want you to call me Trixie.â She lets out a very short chuckle. âItâs the name I go by when out in the field, since I donât want people going around knowing who I truly am.â
I nod my head. âNo worries here, Iâll be callinâ ya that from here on out.â I respond with a wink. âBut even though ya probably know my name, I think I should still say it anyways. Iâm-â
âDycae Brask.â Trixie interrupts me, causing me to freeze. âIâve read your files, so thereâs no further need for that.â She shakes her head slightly, more in amusement than anything.
Now, at this point my whole âcharmâ switch has been flipped. Now Iâm feeling INCREDIBLY pissed. Why?
She said my actual name...in public...where everyone can hear...
My lips morph into a scowl as I glare daggers at her. âDo not...say...my name...again...â I hiss.
She tilts her head slightly, her face looking more unimpressed than confused. âWhat? Not proud of it?â
My hands clench together as I feel my blood boil. âYa donât deserve taâ speak it.â I growl. âTo ya, Iâm Shadowjack and Shadowjack only.â I lean forward, my eyes narrowing. âGot it?â
Her own eyes narrow in response. âDeserve? I donât know about you, but a name is a name. But if you want to feel better, fine.â She shrugs her shoulders. âIâm going to be calling you âShadowjackâ anyways while weâre out there, but if you want to hang onto that name like that even when weâre in a place like this...fine. Be that way, not that it matters.â Her own claws clench as her voice grows an edge. âHowever Iâm going to give you a warning, donât talk to an officer that way. You couldâve caused a lot of trouble, but since this is first impressions...Iâll let it slide.â Her smile returns. âSo donât do that again, got it?â
I swear, I want to punch her in the face. The way she smiles...now it seems like Iâm just some sort of kid whoâs throwing a temper tantrum, as if sheâs above me.
I take it all back, I regret my decision. Fuck this gal, I want nothing to do with her.
At this point Iâm gonna denounce the whole thing and stomp right inside the chiefâs office to call the âcollaborationâ off, however before I could even begin I hear some chatter coming from the girlâs radio.
I donât know what the hell they said but apparently the damn fox knows, seeing that her eyes widened. She quickly unclips the âspeakie-bitâ from her vest and brings it to her mouth. âWeâre on our way.â She speaks into it. The gal clips it back onto her vest before looking at me, her expression now serious. âLook,â She begins. âBad start or no, weâre going to be working with each other.â
Like hell we are.
âIâve just received a call, apparently another body was found.â Now this causes me to pause, my anger faltering for a moment. This didnât leave Trixieâs notice. âYeah, so we both need to head there immediately to check out the scene.â
She turns and starts walking out, only to stop at the end of the room to look back at me when I didnât follow. âYou coming?â She asks in annoyance.
I shake my head and growl softly. âYeah yeah, Iâm goinâ.â I growl before following after her. âThis better be worth it...â I mutter under my breath as we leave the station.

[ continued from here ] [ @the-awoken-crusader ]
He was just gonna sit on the ground? Fair enough, Joachim figured. He was awfully big, after all. And made of metal. Perhaps it was for the best.
He was also grateful that a near-complete stranger was willing to pay for his drink. Heâd have done it himself, but he wasnât about to turn down such an offer, and gave the Golurk a rather chipper âthank you.â
⊠But that happy feeling vanishes not too long after, when the Golurk asks a rather ⊠prying question. Prying to Joachim, at least. The hybrid pursed his lips and his grip on the mug he held tightened. This was a bit of an awkward thing to discuss with a stranger. This one seemed more trustworthy than most, but even so âŠ
he wasnât going to accept any other answer? It was likely Joachim couldnât just take off either. Besides, that would be kinda rude, all things considered.
The Fairy type gave the large ghost a sheepish smile, and chuckled nervously.Â
âI suppose there is something thatâs been bringing me down a bit, but ah,â he paused for a moment. ââS not exactly something I wanna share with the world. But if you really arenât gonna let me go then, well, one minute, and I should be a bit less reserved, yeah? With this.â
and then he started chugging as much as he could at once.
Many individuals would immediately drop the subject upon seeing the Mimeâs first reaction when he was asked of whatâs bothering him, since it must be an incredibly sore subject. Tapferkeit however isnât one of those people. He believes that one must be honest and open with their feelings, for letting them burden oneself alone would cause further harm.
But he expected the Pokemon to resist and prepared a counter-argument just in case, however much to his surprise the Mime ended up agreeing (although with much uncertainty). What the hybrid said afterwords makes the Golurk pauses, specifically the bit on âone minute and I should be less reservedâ.
The moment the Pokemon flipped the mug back and started drinking as much as he could, the Golurkâs eye widens.
Tapferkeit couldnât help but shake his head in disapproval as he watched the hybrid chugged his beverage. Despite what many think the Crusaders arenât a bunch of drunkards that quickly drink down spirits in order to become pissed, no...instead they enjoy their drink and consume it slowly in order to appreciate every drop.
So watching Joachim consume that mug made him feel disappointed, the only thing stopping him from giving the Pokemon an earful is the fact that theyâre quite obviously weighed down with sorrow.
But he couldnât stay silent for long, for the tension is too high for the Golurk and the other bit on what the Pokemon said still him as well. âLad, you have no need to worry of the world listening.â Tapferkeit speaks up eventually. âThe only ones who will be aware of this tale is I, you, and the barkeeper.â
His single eye wanders to said Ampharos, the gaze from it becoming intense. âBoth Crusaders and Barkeepers follow a code of honor, to never spread oneâs darkest secrets if others open their heart and soul to pour them onto us. It is an extremely dishonorable and lowly thing for someone to do such a thing, so whatever you say...shall never leave this place.â He adds more force to the last bit, as if heâs threatening the Ampharos. Not caring of their reaction he turns his head back to fully look at Joachim. âSo fear not, once you find your courage...you may speak to your hearts content. I will not judge you, it is not my place to do so. I shall listen and only do exactly that,â With a large fist he places it on his chest. âYou have my word as a Crusader of the Order of the Talon.â

(đ Hmmmmmm~ What does the Word-smith Bisharp have to say about our Good Ol Bunny Boy Blayz?)
Another individual who wishes for him to give his âjudgementâ, which in reality is just him narrating longer. So just like the last one, he shall grant this person their request.
âA cross between a Lopunny and a Flareon, an unusual combination that Iâve never seen. A very friendly smile is displayed on his face and his eyes are but gateways to the passion burning inside him.
His muscles are very well-toned, displaying to the world of their power and the effort he put into them. Itâs very obvious that heâs a fighter, specifically one that involves kicks as all Lopunny are known for.
Although my knowledge on him is limited, I know from his behavior that he is someone who means well. Nothing is hidden, for everything is open on his features. Due to his behavior alone you can see what he thinks of you, an obviousness that is rather pleasant to see.
My rating will be a nine, for this is an individual I can greatly respect. Although their past is concealed in mystery, their open behavior makes them a trustworthy person.â

đ Hmmm, Messara's thoughts on... Cassie?
So he is to judge this Gothitelle before him? Itâs actually quite funny, since many assume that his narrations alone is him judging them. However an actual âjudgementâ involves an even larger description of said individual, so he will do just that.
âA Gothitelle with a whimsy demeanor, carries the air of a show hostess. A pleasant smile seems to always be adorned on her face, never wavering to the crowds before her.
Her attire fits her personality, making her appear as if to be a sort of magician that specializes utilizing sleight of hand. However her appearance is almost stereotypical, from the hat to the bootsâŠ
Her mask conceals her face, further solidifying her persona and hiding her true identity. Whether what she says could simply be false, a mere actâŠhowever such accusations may also be false in the end.
Even then she looks and behaves like a pleasant individual, one that many wouldnât mind associating with. However I am more curious of why she is the way she is, for I feel there is more behind her masked persona than others believe.
As for a rating, I shall grant her a solid seven. Despite my musings of her identity and her stereotypes, she fits her role very well and I wouldnât be surprised to see her run her own show.â

Hmm... how about đ for kelviks to the snowbun and or Linda if I'm allowed to do two. If not than just the snow bun. :]
Itâs rather uncommon for others to seek judgement from him, so he wouldâve raised his eyebrows if he had any when these two asked him for said judgement. One thing thatâs incredibly certain is that Kelviksâ opinions set in stone, whether it be positive or negative.
âYou desire judgement, yesss?â He hisses. âVery well... I shall grant it to you....â
First, let us start with Tsubayuki.
âAppearance...standard for Lopunny, average muscle...from what Kelviks has seeeen. However taller, much taller indeeed.
White coat, rarity...never seen before... However, Kelviks sees its connectiooon. You contain power, power not normally found in Lopunnies... Yes yes, Kelviks knooows.
Heh heh... Eyes contain an...ageless look, been alive for long time... Still young to Kelviks, very young...not even a thousand yearrrs.
You are not a fighterrrr, or...one that seeks combaaat. You can kill, but refrains from doing so. Respectable, Kelviks understands.
A capable individual, but not worthy... If you desire rating, Kelviks will say...six...out of teeen.â
And now for Linda.
âPowerful, Kelviks can see clearlyyy. Creature of two fleshes, contain blood of...dragooons.
Purple coat, unusual indeeed. Very tall and contain strong muscles, wears necklace of Might Stones....trophies from past battles yesss?
Very strong, Kelviks can seee. Fought many battles, found enjoyment in theeem. Challenge many, fight many, defeat many...
Strong indeeed, perhaps worthy...perhaps not. For rating, Kelviks will say...eight out of teeen.â
In the end Kelviks didnât simply just judge them on their physical appearance, but also on the way they carry themselves.
