“Don’t You Boudé” Anger and Grief Relieving Spell

Hey y’all! This one’s for all you Southern witches. This is actually a trick my grandmother taught me when I was little that I later adapted for witchcraft. Swamp witch that I am, it’s pretty intuitive stuff. All you really need is Spanish Moss and some anger or grief.

This is a spell for when you’re spitting mad. For when you can’t forgive. For when it’s been a week and you’re still looking for a fight. When you’ve cried all the tears you thought you had and still they keep coming. This is a spell for all you polite Southerners whose fingers are itching for that shotgun or failing that, that curse you’ve been dying to use.  

Now Spanish Moss has a reputation for being used primarily in negative witchcraft. It’s used in curses, War Water, gris-gris, and in poppets and other sympathetic magic.

The reason for this is its absorbent properties. Spanish moss can absorb up to ten times its weight in water, and similarly, it soaks up magic and energy quite effectively. For our purposes, rather that use that to store negative energy for a curse, we’re going to use it help you get rid of all that anger or grief without actually taking it out on anyone.  

Ingredients:

     ⚜ Spanish Moss

(Optional):

     ⚜ Plastic Ziploc Bag

     ⚜ Pen and Paper

I’d like to start off by saying I’ve never had a problem with chiggers. I used to play with spanish moss all the time as a kid. I wore it like a wig, and not once did I get chigger bites. The reason for this is I generally pull the moss right off the tree. Chiggers don’t infest moss until it’s hit the ground, so if you stick to the stuff actually in the branches you should be fine.

⚜ Clean the Moss: For the more cautious, gather the spanish moss while wearing gloves and seal it in a plastic bag for a few days before use. (I’ve also heard microwaving it for a few minutes works.) ⚜ Gather up the Negative: Start off by holding the moss and meditating on the negativity you want to be rid of. This can be your own negative thoughts or exterior negative influences in your life. ⚜ Pin it Down: If it helps you, you can also write down on a slip of paper the thing or person that is bringing negativity to your life and wrap it into the strands of the moss. ⚜ Tell the Moss: Press the moss to your lips and name all those things making you angry or sad. Focus on taking that negative energy and breathing it out into the moss. Let the moss soak it up. (My grandmother always told me to yell it as loud as I could, but if that’s not possible, do what works for you. Whisper it, say it, think it, write it.) ⚜ Give it Back: Once you’re done, take the moss and put it back on a tree secure enough that it will stay, but still with enough room to drape. As the wind blows through the moss, it will take away all that anger or sorrow with it.

Think back to the summer of 2018. Where were you at mentally? You might have experienced a living hell. It might have felt like your comforts were being taken from you. You may have felt like you were being stripped of everything you once knew, forced to stare at your naked reflection. It probably scared you, because you weren’t used to facing these mysterious, unknown parts of yourself. You felt like you had nothing to hang on to, nothing to support yourself from the profoundness of everything you once knew about yourself slipping off of you. This was Jupiter in Scorpio. Jupiter in Scorpio stripped you bare and forced you to live without your superficial comforts. You may have experienced depression, anxiety and panic attacks, depersonalization/derealization, and other mental conditions as a result of your identity dying. You might have actually felt like you were dying.

When Jupiter went into Sagittarius last fall, you emerged as a new person. It was still scary. You might have felt like you didn’t have a past, or it was really hard to remember. You might have not recognized your reflection or your voice or your body. The panic attacks might have persisted as you were unable to cope with your newness. Eventually you settled into yourself and your familiarity returned, but something about it was still different. Your memories were yours, but now you saw them different. You picked up on things from your past that you were previously ignorant to. Things you previously avoided approached you in a non threatening way that you were able to handle. You started learning about yourself and your personality. You gained perspective and awareness about your tendencies and your habits. For the past year, it may have felt like you were growing every day. You may have learned about abuse or childhood trauma that you carry and now you’re managing it. You might have taken interest in spirituality, witchcraft, crystals, tarot, astrology, and magick as a means to understand yourself and the world you live in. You might have recluded this year, spent more time in your head and less time out in the environment. This was Jupiter in Sagittarius’s influence on you.

Now Jupiter has moved into Capricorn. It’s time to apply all of the knowledge you’ve gained about yourself to the real world. You have to come back out of the comforts of your head and navigate through the physical realm. If you’ve been diving into your childhood traumas, now is the time to apply what you’ve learned. Test the waters. See what you can handle. Approach your triggers and see how you react to them. If you’ve been on the spiritual path, the time has come for you to act. No more waiting for signs from your guides or astrological occurrences (like full moons) in the cosmos. You must go out there and make your dreams a reality. If you have an idea for your life, now is the time to draft up your plan. Plan everything out an when you’re ready (Jupiter will make you ready this upcoming year) act out your plan. It’s time to make a name for yourself. 2020 is the year that you will make yourself and your intentions known.

How do Crystals Actually Work?

AKA: The basic science behind crystal-related metaphysics / Information about these semi-precious minerals!

Hello there ~! As a witch and a constant crystal user, I have come across my fair share of skeptics. These people may have even presented themselves to you at one time; claiming that ‘crystal magick’ or ‘crystal healing’ methods are not at all effective or real, and giving you a bit of grief for your crystal usage and beliefs. Well, I’m here to give you a nice long post on the physics and properties of metaphysical stones! I also figured it would be nice to have an explanation post going around for all those who work with stones and crystals, yet have never considered the science behind their energies. Enjoy!

Energy Explaination ◊

Crystals and stones have been treasured and sought after for hundreds of years and used in nearly every culture of the world. Not only are they beautiful, collectable, and make wonderful jewelry or trinkets; but crystals are very powerful subjects for energy movement and manipulation! These precious minerals use a type of energy called

* Piezoelectricity *

Which is a huge factor in why many crystals are commonly used to transmit energy in technology and devices, such as the computer or phone you may be reading this from. Along with the ability to transmit, they can also take in, enhance, or ‘mingle’ with the natural energies from your own body or with the energies of another organism/object to produce a desired outcome!

The chemical makeup of each type of stone determines what exactly it’s own energy will do when combined with a persons’ natural energy, and because everyone has a different energy, this is also the reason why we all have different responses to the energies of varying stones. 

For example, although Rose Quartz and Smokey Quartz may both be in the same family of stone, their differences in formation and make-up will act in different ways.

How Shape Effects Energy ◊

Crystals, not only those used for jewelry, are often cut into specific shapes and sizes for personal use. Among the most common types are spherical/tumbled, pointed, and obilisk ~  And although you might not have considered the shape while thinking about crystal healing, meditation, or magick, it still plays an relatively important role! Here are a list of shapes and their best uses, as known by myself and collected from various sources:

(Cut) Pointed: Best used when energy is meant to be concentrated and strongly ‘pointed’ in only one specific direction. If a stone has more than one point, the energy will also tend to shoot in those multiple directions. (The second portion of this definition also fits for a crystal cluster piece, though those points are naturally formed rather than cut)

Raw/Natural: (Can included naturally pointed) Much like a crystal’s natural and seemingly random shape of growth, the energy of a raw stone will come out in a ‘blotted’ manner, and will most likely be emitted in different directions and frequencies from different areas of the stone, determined by the formation.

Spherical: The energies of a crystal sphere, much like those used for crystal ball scrying and divination, come out in a round and even manner; the smoother and more even the spherical shape of the ball, the smoother the energy will emit. Because it is completely round, energy will emit from all areas of the ball in even amounts.

Tumbled: (Similar to spherical) Crystals and stones that have been ‘tumbled’, or smoothed out - yet not into a sphere, will behave similar to the shape above. Although, because they are not completely round (just ‘soft-edged’) the energy will slightly differ in means of even-ness to that of a sphere.

Obilisk: A stronger version of the (cut) pointed stone, as the bottom of an obilisk-shaped crystal is solidly flat, and allowing for a more ‘grounded’ directional energy. Because these are meant to be displaced standing and pointing upwards, they are best used when energy is needed to be pointed up.

Now that I know these things, what could I do with crystals? ◊

Meditate with them

Aline and balance your bodys’ natural energy points with crystals (Also known as ‘Chakras’, first introduced in Hindu texts)

Use stones and crystals to create a desired effect or feeling (They can be used for love, physical & mental healing, focus, grounding, balancing, communication, emotional subjects, strengthening mental/metaphysical abilities, cleansing, etc.) ~ List of Crystal Properties (by name)

Create amulets from stones/crystals

Craft them into keychains/pocket keepsakes to carry with you for everyday use (Be sure to take gentle care of softer stones that scratch easily!)

Mixing up a gem elixer (see tips below; some stones are toxic to water)

And many more! While I could not list everything you could possibly do with these treasured pieces of earth, there are likely more options that I have never even explored myself

In metaphysics, crystal magick, and technology, quartz is the universal substitute for all stones. Quartz can be physically and technologically programmed with an extremely high amount of data, and can also be programmed with intent for personal, healing, and magickal use. Think of quartz as the ‘empty jar’ of crystals: filled with possibility

When buying stones and crystals online, make absolute sure that you order from someone who a.) has positive and over 10+ reviews, and b.) will be willing to tell you the EXACT measurements and dimensions of the product. Too many online stores will trick you into buying a stone that is smaller than you were led to think upon purchase! I also recommend buying from someone who will provide insurance over fragile crystals possibly broken during shipping

When cleansing them, be sure to choose a method that is best for each type of stone. Some may fade in sunlight, dissolve or ruin in water, react badly with salt, etc. Do your research!

If the chemical makeup of a lab-produced crystal is the exact same to the makeup of a naturally-formed one, the only things that will differ between the stones are the frequency rates of energy they emit (a lab-produced stone would not be as powerful as a naturally formed one), and the energies they contain. Contained energies aren’t so important as the frequencies, as stones and crystals can be “cleansed” (cleared out / turned into a ‘blank-slate’) by multiple methods.

If you are wondering whether or not you have any crystal/mineral stores near you, try searching google maps with the terms “crystal”, “mineral”, or “metaphysical” - as these will usually yield the best results!

After acquiring a stone, it is best to cleanse out the energies that may have been transferred into it by the formation process or by other people handling it

If you feel fatigued, sick, head/body pain, or any sort of discomfort while using a stone for metaphysical purposes (on more than one occasion) give it a good cleanse before further use

BLACK SEX WORKER EMPOWERMENT

Right now, there’s an influx of monetary abundance towards me because I am black, I’m VERY grateful, but I want MORE than abundance in money. I want abundance in worldwide support, love, self love, self care, and CHANGE. These are my words. I made this in 2019 during Black History Month for M*nyVids (not sure if I’ll get flagged for mentioning them so it’s censored) and it still keeps me going today. During that month, I wanted to die. Because I was going through a transformation. I left behind a life where I was surrounded by people who only cared about blackness if it was quiet.

My white ex-gf only supported blackness if it was quiet. She tried to silence me and she’s history (amongst other awful things). My white mother (I’m adopted) nearly got cut off until she finally changed and grew to try and understand blackness. So many white “friends” back in 2016 supporting Tr*mp deleted. I was surrounded by white moderates and although I’m still not done severing ties with all of them (only because SOME of them I need a court order to do so and I don’t have the money rn) I know I am done. SO done.

I wasn’t going to say ANYTHING. I was going to just try and sit alone in meditation and try and stay calm because I know that I’m triggered rn. But then I realized how far I’ve come. How many triggers I’ve faced HEAD ON over the past few years. Being brave enough to face my fears. To go into my trauma and integrate fragments of my soul back into myself. To go inward and love my inner child. I’m healed enough to speak out without falling apart and I’m doing it NOW.

Every. single. black. life. MATTERS. Every single one.

Black sex workers, queer LGTB black people, disabled black people, black parents, black families, black babies, black non-binary people, black women, black men, fat black people, skinny black people, unconventionally attractive black people, conventionally attractive black people, EVERY BLACK LIFE MATTERS. Support each and EVERY black life.

All I want is this message shared and for you ALL to face your inner traumas. To love yourselves (even your OLD selves, if you were problematic before that self IS important because it taught you valuable lessons) deeply and completely.
