You wanna know the real difference between someone who just talks about writing and someone who actually is a writer? Well, it’s not talent, nor some magical lightning bolt of inspiration from the heavens. It’s just sitting your ass down and doing the damn writing. Consistently. That’s the whole big, unsexy secret.

side note: the queer community is, by nature, full of people with hard to word and messy experiences. everyone can do whatever they want and people with unusual orientations, genders, and presentations are not the reason bigotry exists in the world. do whatever, love whomever, shape your life to suit your needs, beat language bloody to make room for yourself, your siblings are not the enemy and the only way we're all gonna make it is with compassion for those who are more like us than not.

“Ugh this prominent women in the Lesbian movement turned out to be a bisexual” “ugh this famous lesbian transitioned into a man” “ugh this queer romance writer turns out to be ace” “ugh this cis feminist author ended up being nonbinary” “ugh this writer on masculinity transitioned into a woman”
Oh no! We might have to recognize liberation as an interconnected intersectional struggle! Ahhh!!! >.<

Oh no. It gets weirder:
He compared the reinterpretation of Gallifreyan history to the real-world reassessment of historical figures. “There was plenty of fuss made about Winston Churchill being in Doctor Who, when there’s plenty of history to suggest he wasn’t such a good guy. And that’s always the way. Our history of slavery, our way of walking through the world is constantly being re-analysed.”
“So I like to think it’s the same on Gallifrey,” he continued. “That’s happened, over the eons, Omega has been recontextualised, and the story gets bolder and changes over time. We don’t want to repeat the past, we want to push it forward.”
So the reason why Omega is now a giant skeleton monster baby is because Gallifreyan history was recontextualised… just like Winston Churchill.
What with this and that viral clip of RTD wanting to name a future companion Petrol, I think it’s safe to say the man has officially lost the plot.
Haha, ok, RTD. WE have to accept that 40 years have passed. Sure.
