Imagine #14

You sit in your small bedroom, a candle lit and a small pewter dragon resting beside the melting wax. Taking a deep breath, you recite your nightly prayer:

“Draco grant me strength

To grow to your length.

Draco grant me speed

To go where I need.

Draco grant me hope

To live and to cope.”

In the silence of your room, you can feel, you can hear the song of the dragons, a choir in the stars. Your wings unfurl, celestial and strong. Your body grows to exceed your human form, eyes glowing, horns reaching, talons sharpening. The choir grows louder, embracing your true form in their numbers.

“Live for us,” they say as you return from the stars to your room. Be strong, be fast, have hope and, above all else, live.
