It's no mystery why he's considered to be the most beautiful dragon to ever fly the Westerosi skies. Only 7 weeks left to wait for season 2 and we'll finally get to see this majestic boy in action!

A somewhat recent digital painting of a purple cosmic dragon as it flows amongst planets and stars. This was painted with a specific color palette to practice use of limited/specific color to build a scene.
I had fun with the more loose, swirly shape of this dragon's design, and seeing how the colors work together was really interesting.
Painted in Clip Studio.

Collection of the art I did for Smaugust 2023! A Dragon, Wyvern, Amphiptere, and Lindwyrm
I've never done the Smaugust Art Challenge before, and I had a lot of fun with it! I know there's prompt lists floating around for it, but I like the freedom of just having an excuse to focus on drawing dragons for a month as a challenge, without having to follow specific prompts.
Monster/creature art isn't something I do very often now, so it was a nice change of pace. In middle school pretty much all I drew was dragons so it's nice to be a little self indulgent and go back to that hahaha

felt like drawing a dragon lady, made songbird into a humanoid (even though she's feral normally) and gave her a sword because that seemed cool.

Another little dragon painting I'd never shared from last year.
I thought a little dragon chasing a butterfly would turn out cute, so I figured I'd try to paint it.
This was Daniel Smith Watercolors, Prismacolor pencils and a Pigma Micron ink pen on around 5x7 watercolor paper.

Crossposting this here because I love it so much. My friend M made me this mug and based the dragon inside off one I painted. I lost the original painting but tried to recreate it this morning.

Decided to go for a funky medieval European design since it ain’t something I’ve tried before. I wonder if medieval dragon drawings look like dogs because dogs were the only animal references readily available to artists at the time. I imagine getting your hands on an actual reptile would be much harder.
If anyone else wants to send me art or writing prompts, I’m open to just about anything right now so long as I’m familiar with the subject or can otherwise pull up a reference for whatever it is.

Here’s my primary reference for the dragon’s design. It’s one of the first things that shows up when you look up ‘medieval dragon.’
