Lore, swords, art and anime. Lots of brain farts and random crap. Full of spoilers. At times shamelessly NSFW. In one word: Terrible.

As far as I’m concerned, the single most radical change from journal fandom is the idea that fandom is primarily a space for kids.
*shakes cane* in MY day, teen fans pretended to be adults while we walked uphill both ways!

PSA: AO3 HAS BEEN INFECTED WITH AI BOT COMMENTS.
Have you seen one of these dipshits? If you post regularly on ao3, chances are YES, but more likely you didn't notice nor suspect it was a bot. Sometimes they start off nice, or even praise you before getting nasty out of nowhere, like so:
But much like Grok, their newest obsession is nazism.

I don't know where they come from, or what purpose this could possibly serve other than suicidebaiting random people in the internet, I guess; but apparently they've started parroting names from real users to send these comments and shifting their general length to go by undetected. Maybe those are scrappers trying to train 'reviewbots' to be sold as part of some scam service promising to give feedback for newbie writers, who the fuck knows.
Here are more examples of the tone and backhanded compliments you can find in these:
If you regularly post on AO3 or interact with writers in it, please pass this along so they don't feel insane receiving bombs in their inbox. This is ridiculous.
#If I ever get my hands on the asshole(s) that implemented this shit I will show them how truly creative a writer can be in terms or torment#Fanfiction#Writing#Yo Dimwit#Fandom

Heterosexual relationship culture is so alien to me and I don’t know if it’s the fact I’m not cishet or the fact I’m autistic but I hear so many things that make me go “Am I insane or are they?”
There’s a lot of hate on widowers and I saw a woman say “You cannot compete with a dead woman.” which is perhaps a reasonable statement to say if he’s constantly comparing you to his dead partner but that wasn’t what the post was about. And I realized “Oh my God, these people genuinely feel like they’re constantly in competition with their spouse’s exes and the ex being dead makes them feel insecure that they cannot best her.”
There’s also been an uptick in the ‘men and women cannot be ‘just’ friends’ rhetoric which I feel like is extremely dangerous and reflects the rise of fascism and sexism. Some of these stories of women feeling threatened by their husband’s female best friend have some merit and others are like “I feel angry that my husband still talks to the girl he grew up next door to and she and her wife are invited to family gatherings and included in family photos sometimes. Am I right to be suspicious?” No. No you’re not. I cannot imagine being you and living with that high level of stress and paranoia and constant torment and jealousy about your husband having a positive relationship with anyone who isn’t you.
#Bahahahaha#Applies to all relationships tbh you can just be in cahoots with other people who know your partner/friend/family member#Most people love being in cahoots you should give it a try#Relationships

Once again, I have wisely spent money on @dweebsfilingcabinet's fantastic art because I had to get an icon of Shiro with all of his new charms and there's no one else I'd trust besides them.
Also, my man needed his fangies depicted too🤍

Mozilla, in its finite wisdom, embedded LLM bots into recent versions of Firefox for the vitally-important purpose of… naming tab groups. Now, some users are noticing CPU and power usage spikes caused by a background process called Inference.
Ugh. Reminder again for Firefox users to visit your about:config page, search for the browser.ml.chat.enabled key, and set that to false:
If yours says true then double-click it until it reads false.
Doing that turns off the AI chatbot features in Firefox, but also the stupid new LLM tab-naming feature that's rolling out.
#Firefox#I am dissapoint#Obi-wan voice: YOU WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO JOIN THEM#Ai#Honestly I KNOW the research field is called that way but I feel a lot of people wouldn't have fallen for this crap if it had a lamer name#Can we PLEASE just call it Automatically Generated Content and Auto Analizing Processor or something because it is NOT “cool robot friend”

Dutch is a very gendered language, we don't have many neutral options. So this video inspired me to go digging for a genderneutral option for "meneer" (mister) and "mevrouw" (misses, miss).
I used the website etymologiebank.nl to look up the etymology for the words "meneer" and "mevrouw", hoping to find a third option like in the video, but alas. It is as straightforward as it seems. "Meneer" comes from "mijn heer" (my lord, distinguished man), and "mevrouw" comes simply from "mijn vrouw" (my woman, distinguished woman). There is no third gramatical gender in Dutch.
So I looked up "neutraal" (neutral), it comes from the latin neutrālis, so it would give us the option of "metralis", however, compared to our other two it is a syllable too many. "Mealis" would be an option, but is also a name/nickname connected to names like Melissa.
But this did bring me to the word "neutrum" (neuter, gramatically neuter) an old word which has since been replaced with "onzijdig". "Metrum" would be a cool option, and close to the one used in the video. However, it is also a term in poetry (link in Dutch, metre in English).
This page also said that "generlei" was a gramatically genderneutral term meaning "onzijdig", and I must say, I love this one. "Generlei" has the suffix -lei, which comes from -leie, meaning "soort" (kind or sort). Gener- comes from "geen" (none). So "generlei" in this context means "of neither sort". The fun part is that the suffix -lei is used in many other words, like "allerlei" (of all kinds/sorts).
Which brought me to the title "merlei". It still fits the structure of "meneer" and "mevrouw" and doesn't seem out of place. And the best part, next to "generlei" (neither sort), we also used to have "enigerlei" (van een of andere soort. Of one or a different kind/sort), "velerlei" (van vele soorten. Of many kinds/sorts), tweeërlei, drieeërlei, etc (van twee, drie soorten etc. Of two, three kinds, etc.)
Which makes "merlei" way more inclusive, because bigender people can use "merlei" as meaning "tweeërlei", agender people as meaning "generlei", genderfluid people (such as myself) as meaning "velerlei", etc.
So, TL;DR: Some Dutch genderneutral options for titles, such as "meneer" and "mevrouw" are "metralis" (from neutral), "maelis" (from neutraal), "metrum" (from neutrum), and "merlei" (from generlei, gramaticaal onzijdig).
#Oooh nice#I'd also like to propose Magister#Which is something like “master” or “teacher” as in master of a craft or skill but sounds more magical#It's kinda masc-associated but that's just some (historically fairly recent) Only Men Have Real Jobs crap so I suggest we Correct that#Some shits might nag about their Master's degree but that's used as “Master of Thing” not “Master Lastname” so fuck em#It's basically Dutch for “mage” which I also love as an English neutral and it can be shortened to mg to put in front of a last name#Dutch#Gender#Nonbinary#Trans
