"old friends" is an underrated relationship dynamic because it's such an innocent boring sounding term for what is usually some of the wildest shit imaginable. it's always like 'oh yeah we go way back, we have history' and then you find out that history includes sex, drugs, murder, divorce, war crimes and The Incident

Nanowrimo Update #2

Summary written!

The dragonfire is going out. The citizens of Ciryen, an island and kingdom covered in snow and ice, fear for their lives. Dragonfire is the only thing keeping the dark and cold at bay - the only thing keeping them alive.

Tian, prince in waiting and the next Flame of the North, is sent out on a mission to find the last remaining dragons, if any yet remain to be found, and do whatever it takes to convince them to restore the fire in Ciryen.

Ke, a young silvermoss farmer who dreams of becoming a flame warden, believes this to be folly. He follows the prince and his soldiers out of the city and into the unforgiving cold of the northern mountains.

And as conspiracies are unearthed, old legends rediscovered, bonds of friendship broken and reforged, the question that plagues every mind is this:

Will the fire be rekindled? Or will Ciryen fall to darkness?
