You're free to try, just remember a regular bow made into crossbow arms is not as sturdy as purpose made ones.

I didn't make them, i was with them when it was first stolen. I had it last before it was recovered now and dropped it in a field then. They came to me to find out what happened to it, i didn't make them. They came to me all on their own to get it back.

Simple:

A massager Pigeon can sit for a while when it arrives so one can choose their moment to respond while sending is immediate and some people hate being forced into a conversation at a given point they cannot choose!

Efficiency is debatable. Takes longer to shoot multiple times in a row but needs less effort and can be kept at the ready for a while.

I can't say, i am not an enchantress i know little about the properties of enchanted objects when they are rebuilt or reforged.

Maybe it needs direct contact with a sentience to function meaning just mounting it to a crossbow stock wouldn't work. Maybe it doesn't and can be automated. I don't know.

And for testing, it just needs a target that can survive a shot to see if you can switch targets. From the first attempt i would wager they all gravitate to the same target until eliminated However.

The question is if it flies at what you want to shoot or if it takes the nearest possible target. And can you shoot at multiple targets without the first being eliminated.
