Hi hello I am here

Luc does not particularly care for nor participate in most holidays, but they'll make exceptions for Feast of the Exceptional Rose and Hallowmas (more often the devil parties of the former and the confessions of the latter). They retire mostly to the house during Whitsun; they have a...disdain for the season. Luc was alive during all the previous Summer events, but their highest point of activity was during the Coilheart games. Notably, though, they were out of a house for a bit when those of the 2nd rose. Luc is not one for Parabola, and as such has not relived any events, but was around for all of them to some extent.

Adam has a fondness for Feast of the Exceptional Rose, as his access to gifts for his wife majorly increases and he likes giving her things. It's also deeply important to him as it's around the time they met. That's about when his participation ends, however in recent years he's become more involved in Christmas-time activities. He healthily avoids Fruits of the Zee every time it swings around, as he's at odd with many a zailor and would rather not take his family out to a island full of them for waterside activities. He was around and present for all former events, though at most he kept near his wife and children. He does not go to the Waswood for good reason.

Samantha finds Hallowmas to have a dear place in her heart, as it's one of the few times of the year she can perform once more, and being able to hide her face under a facsimile of a act is freeing of a feeling. She's most active then, but takes a healthy amount of participation in Chistmas and FotER, to have a enjoyable season with her family. She has nothing she particularly avoids, but tends to skim over Whitsun whenever it comes around, citing some sort of preoccupation or full schedule. She lived through and was present for all the previous Summer events, and was one of the volunteers for the TC team during the Coilheart games! At her reflection's insistence, she has not gone to relive any memories in the Waswood.

Korabl'nikov only really shows up for FotZ. Claims to be friends with the Fathomking. No one wants to argue with the captain on it. She complains about almost every other season. Oddly enough, despite being alive for London's events, she only actually showed up for the Coilheart Games, and stuck particularly around Khanate represenatives. There are murmurings of their deeper involvement with a assortment of things, but those are rumors. They do not venture Parabola, and have not found it of any particular help to revisit events he had no part in.

I have a little headcanon now that for the old immortals/semi-immortals of the Neath, birthdays can get kinda uhh... Vibes based. If they're remembered at all.

May looking out the window of the Beth sometime in early summer and going "Hm. Close enough." And puts on his party hat (looks exactly the same as his normal top hat but is lined in a fun patterned silk)

• Luc Buckingham, The Opulent Enigma

A half-English half-French noble with a strange connection to the devils. Sly, fairly overshadowed by bigger and bolder, always hiding something behind their words and between their teeth. Sticks to moving things in the shadows.

• Adam Buckingham, the Blood-Soaked Knight

A man with a entangled relationship to the Great Game. Rather quiet, somewhat intimidating, prefers a quiet game of cards to drinking at the bar. Not fully mentally stable. Is married and has children with his wife.

• Samantha Buckingham (formerly Smit), the Searing Performer

A lady with a affinity for fire (despite, or perhaps because of, it's destruction of her) and half covered in bandages. A Emancipationist with high hopes in the future (and much more mild ones for the present), formerly a performer at Mahogany Hall before the incident. Currently married, with a few kids (all ones she wanted), and a loving husband willing to dote on her whenever he can.

• Endemannus Korabl'nikov, the Transformed Captain

A ancient captain of a strange ship and stranger clothes, one who avoids London whenever she can. Pronouns often depend on the speaker rather then the subject. Somewhat feared among zailors, called a bad omen, a cannibal, a servant of darker powers. Is willing to get a drink with anyone brave enough to ask. Not the best socializer though.

• Edward, the Blinded Host

A radio show host, with a myriad of strange habits and hobbies and a taste for danger. Said to be formidible in the Black Ribbon. Said to be a number of things, really. Has recently returned from a little over a year's absence, newly blind and bringing more questions then answers for once.

• Mary Helianalis, the Once-Doomed Scholar

A professor at the Bethnic University, often teaching and overseeing the more dangerous lessons of other teachers and leads a class on the manipulation of the Correspondence and the Neathbow. Always snacking, refuses to discuss any rumors of scars or other things on her person. Sometimes mutters to candles. Often seen in public alongside her twin sister.

• Grace Helianalis, the Radiant Apothecary

A woman of little reputation, beyond the circles which know her for her poisons. Wears a mechanical eyepatch on her left eye, not particularly social besides at the Medusa's Head, refuses to elaborate on any rumors of light coming from her eye. Sometimes is a guest teacher at Bethnic for her knowledge of poisonous substances.

• Eckil Portsmoth, the Singing Bonesnatcher

A confusing, complicated man. Someone always between mindsets, looking for the next project or trip or thing to do. Some say he looks haunted. Others assume he simply hasn't adjusted to truly living down here yet. They've been missing, these past few weeks, Dr. Weber says. No one knows why.

one of my worst writing sins is abusing my power to create compound words. i cannot write the sentence "The sun shone as bright as honey that afternoon." no. that's boring. "The sun was honey-bright that afternoon" however? yes. that sentence is dope as fuck. i do not care if "honey-bright" is a word in the english dictionary. i do not care if the sentence is grammatically correct. i will not change. i will not correct my erred ways. the laws of the english language are mine.

The doctor grabbed a hefty pair of scissors and began to cut.

She began near the ear, or rather where the ear was, snipping at the bandages, careful not to snag on any loose bits and pieces of dried skin that could get in the way.

She was practiced at her work, and she showed it well, unlike the barber-surgeons who hacked at the newcomers from the steamers, she was careful to not accelerate the decay of her patients, always making sure her incisions and sewing were as unobtrusive as possible.

Her current patient sat still on the cold slab, eyes closed in sleep as he hopefully dreamed of better things, and not of the accident that had landed him a trip to the colonies in the first place.

The mortician began to hum to herself as she finally pulled away the bloody gauze wrapping the poor souls face, an old tune she couldn't remember the name of but a tune that stuck in the very back of her head, entrenched deeply.

She tilted her patients face to the side, exposing the open wound on his face.

Cracked cheekbone stared back at her, a crater of flesh peppered with small shreds of steel, she was told the eye was unsalvageable, and it looked to be the case.

There was nothing she could do about the cheekbone, not with her current tools, but the shrapnel she could remove.

The small shards of copper plinked when they hit the metal tray, her brow furrowed in concentration as she pulled the metal refuse from the man's face and neck, the first to go was the smaller shards around the edge of the wound, only skin deep in some places, small tricklets of thick black blood pouring from the larger excavations.

The tweezers were held tightly in her grip, the largest chunk in its grip as she pulled. 

She winced, hearing the sound of quickened breathing from the patients as the spike of metal was pulled from his head, but after an excruciating process the final shard was removed.

She relished in the knowledge that the man on her table would wake up without bandages snagging on his face, that the flesh could move without being sliced into. 

And his pounding headache would be fixed too.

The tune returned to her lips as she pried open the lid of a tin of bandages on her table, long-dead fingers with skin taut to the bone slowly lifting up the patient's head, and wrapping a fresh cover of bandages around his face.

She'd been doing this for centuries, but it always made her happy to see the product of her handiwork, no matter what city they were from or what language they spoke.

Cracking her stiff neck, she began to wake her patient, and preparing to usher the next one in.

5 - How did you choose their name and why? Was it simply based on vibes or is there any specific meaning behind the name? Are the reasons behind their name different in- and out of universe?

Ok, so I didn't have Eckil's full name figured out until I was making their account and therefore most of it was on the fly, having no particular meaning (Portsmoth is quite literally just something I thought sounded English enough, lol). However, I did have part of it from the get-go; Ecc. You see, it was originally a shortening of my main account's IGN, as the account was originally meant to be a more in-character version of my main, which I felt (and still feel, to a extent) is a tad too far along to try to construct a person now. Eckil ended up becoming their own person shortly after I got into contact with the community as a whole, though, and therefore this original connection is more just a fun fact nowadays then actually dimunitive of anything.

7 - What is a aspect of their appearance that you like the most?

This one is a little hard because I genuinely really enjoy Eckil's design, but on a more personal note I have a fondness for the man's scarring. Aesthetically, it's the patterning on their clothes, I just really like it it looks nice.

The formatting's probably shit but here we go! Don't got a art I feel confident using so we've got a picrew.
