QIH is here as an inclusive, open-minded place to explore queer and also non-conforming communities online and learn more about a range of identities

There's so much discourse on here that we forget there's actually a lot of interesting things to learn about the way other communities work, even if we don't agree with their beliefs

Please feel free to add your own discoveries and experiences and ask questions about mine in the asks!

Hi! I'm Alex and I have a love for indulging myself in communities and learning all there is to learn - best part is there never stops being stuff to learn! In my own words, I like looking at human behaviour online as if you're all lab rats in a glass box, and sometimes I become a rat for a bit too

Some of my personal favourite communities to learn about are fandoms and problematic online-based identities

✭ What counts as 'queer and non-conforming'? ✭

I've included non-conforming because queer is defined differently by many. When people say queer, they typically mean non-cisgendered and/or non-heterosexual, but I also want to talk about other communities that are 'queer' as in strange, different, and non-normative

When I'm talking about Q/NC communities, I can really mean any collection of people that aren't perceived as the societal norm, at least by the standards of 'Western society'. This includes communities relating to:

LGBTQ+, MOGAI, etc

Alterhumanity and otherkin

Neurodivergence, disability, and plurality

Age/pet/object regression

Non-conforming adult-only spaces (of which will not be discussed here)

Other communities that form surrounding a shared non-normative ideology (shipping discourse, transid/para, blankqueer, -inclus labels, kin for fun)

I'll also be talking about how these communities mix with others and with things like fandom/internet culture, as well as community references/jokes, shared values/beliefs, and common discourses within those communities

Inclusive Feminism flag

This is a flag I've made for any form of inclusive feminism. It is explicitly pro-trans and intersectional, and people who don't believe in those things are not welcome to use this. This isn't particularly for any one specific type of feminism, so long as it's an inclusive and tolerant variant it's fine. It was, however, largely made with transfeminism, intersectional feminism, queer feminism, and anarcha feminism in mind.

When I say this flag is for any form of inclusive feminism, I am primarily referring to forms of feminism that are intersectional (inclusive of other minorities, such as poc, trans people, disabled people, and otherwise, and discusses the intersections of racism, transphobia, and ableism), and are not harmful towards others.

Anyone of any gender may use this flag, just like anyone of any gender may be a feminist and discuss their gendered issues under the umbrella of it.

The colors have some general meanings that I'll list, though I think you could include more than just this if you wanted:

Black: Homage to political activism and fighting for gender equality / fighting against the patriarchy.

Purple: Feminist history and legacy, as well as remembrance for former feminists, feminist movements / marches, and changes for women's rights in the past.

Pink: Support for all women and women's rights, as well as feminine individuals regardless of gender. It also includes examining and deconstructing how they are treated under the patriarchy.

Orange: Education on feminist issues, as well as the evolution of feminism throughout history, and support for younger feminists just getting into activism.

Yellow: Unity, tolerance, inclusivity, and intersectionality. It is both a stripe of inclusivity, as well as distinguishing that different groups have different experiences under patriarchy, and intersections caused by various forms of oppression.

Green: Freedom, happiness, passion, and mutual respect. It also represents genders outside of womanhood and manhood, such as nonbinary genders and agender (hence the green.)

Blue: Support for masculine people, such as butches, and examining / deconstructing how masculinity is seen due to patriarchy. It is also a stripe for recognizing issues men might face due to toxic masculinity.

The flag has a vague homage to the anarcha-feminist flag, which is why it's diagonal. Furthermore, there is also an homage to the queer community through the use of black at each end, similarly to the most popular queer flag. This flag isn't just for queer people, but it does have inherent solidarity with the queer community, as this is an intersectional flag.

I know this can be hard for icons and other portrayals though, so below the cut I have a normal horizontal-stripe rendition of the flag, as well as flags without the icon. You can edit this flag however you want.
